The video that made the rounds on social media on Wednesday shows a man confronting a white woman in a playground at Soldiers Field Memorial Park, who allegedly uttered an insult against a black child. The woman repeats the insult to the man behind the camera and at one point tells him that the black child took something from her and her infant child. In the video, the woman can be heard saying, “If he behaves like that, we'll call him like that”.

The woman was identified on social media as Shiloh Hendrix of Rochester. On Thursday, Shiloh Hendrix appears to have launched an online fundraiser for herself after the incident went viral on a website that bills itself as a Christian crowdfunding service. On the fundraising page, Hendrix says her family has found itself in a “very difficult situation” due to the attention the video has attracted. Hendrix wrote on the page that the black boy had stolen her 18-month-old's diaper bag from the park and that she had “called the kid out for who he was”.

Mohamed Hussein Omer, 42, and Sharmake Beyle Omar, 30, could receive a joint trial on their identical charges of third-degree criminal sexual conduct - penetration of a person under 18 - with coercion and fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct - non-consensual penetration dating back to January 20, 2022, according to Olmsted County court records. Momamed Omer appeared in court on Monday, April 17 on unrelated assault charges. According to court documents, a 16-year-old girl ran away from her foster home in Farmington, MN, and told law enforcement that she had been sexually assaulted by several men in the Rochester area. According to court documents, the teen told law enforcement that Mohamed Omer picked her up at a Kwik Trip in Rochester and offered to stay in his trailer, before making advances and raping her after the teen told him she would not have sex with him. According to court documents, the teenager stated that she met Sharmake Omar at the caravan later, and that Omar sexually assaulted her on two occasions. The teenager said she stayed in the caravan for just under 24 hours, without food, and that the two men took her shoes to prevent her from running away. Omer and Omar will appear in Olmsted County Court on May 5 for a motion hearing, which will determine whether the two men will stand trial together.
