I’m gonna need more people to watch the movie Bruiser (2022) dir. Miles Warren.
This movie tells the story of a fourteen year old boy and his relationship with his own masculinity and manhood. We (the audience and Darious) watch his two male role models make a series of good and bad decisions, perpetuating the cycle of violence. We don’t go too deep into these men’s histories. We just see them as who they are today.
This movie makes you hurt. It’s easy to empathize with each character because the cinematography and dialogue are so fucking good. I was holding my breath waiting to see what decision Darious makes at the end of the film.
(Also Trevante Rhodes is in it if you’ve seen Moonlight!!)

The Latest Trends in Diamond and Gold Rings You Need to See
Tumblr media
If you're planning to Buy Diamond and Gold Rings, keeping up with the latest trends can help you choose a design that’s both timeless and fashion-forward. Whether you’re shopping for a special occasion or treating yourself to something sparkling, Shinelle By Neelam offers a stunning collection that reflects the newest trends in the jewelry world. From vintage revivals to bold contemporary styles, here’s a look at what’s trending in diamond and gold rings right now.
1. Oval-Cut Diamonds Are Taking Over
Oval-cut diamonds are making a significant resurgence in 2025, yet round diamonds have always been a classic. This elongated design adds a sophisticated, contemporary touch while creating the appearance of a larger stone. Shinelle Oval-cut diamond rings from By Neelam are made to accentuate brightness and lengthen the finger for a sophisticated, attractive appearance.
2. Two-Tone Gold Rings Are Back in Style
Say goodbye to choosing between white, yellow, or rose gold—because now you can have them all. Two-tone and even three-tone gold rings are gaining popularity for their versatility and unique aesthetic. These rings offer a dynamic look, perfect for those who like to mix and match their jewelry. Shinelle By Neelam showcases several pieces that beautifully combine gold tones for a contemporary edge.
3. Chunky Gold Bands with Minimalist Diamonds
The popularity of hefty gold bands set with small, exact diamonds combines assertiveness with minimalism. These rings combine the best qualities of attitude and elegance, making a statement without being ostentatious. These rings add strength and refinement to any ensemble and are perfect for stacking or daily use.
4. Nature-Inspired Designs Are Blooming
Florals, vines, leaves, and other organic shapes are inspiring many of 2025’s most enchanting ring designs. These nature-inspired patterns reflect a sense of beauty, growth, and harmony. Shinelle By Neelam embraces this trend with delicate designs that feature petal-shaped diamonds, leaf engravings, and elegant curves.
5. East-West Settings for a Modern Twist
Traditionally, diamonds are set vertically, but the East-West setting—where the stone lies horizontally across the band—is quickly becoming a favorite among trendsetters. This modern take gives rings a fresh, eye-catching aesthetic. Whether it’s an emerald cut or marquise diamond, Shinelle By Neelam has chic designs that redefine ring style.
6. Colored Gem Accents for a Pop of Personality
While clear diamonds remain the star, many are adding colored gemstones to their rings for a personalized flair. Sapphires, emeralds, and rubies add depth, character, and symbolism. Whether used as a side accent or in a halo, colored gems are breathing new life into classic ring styles.
7. Vintage-Inspired Heirloom Designs
Retro is resurfacing with a bang. Vintage designs, ranging from Victorian-inspired themes to Art Deco patterns, are becoming popular among collectors and brides. Consider antique cuts like cushion and Asscher, filigree, and milgrain accents. Shinelle The timeless appeal of the past is celebrated in By Neelam's vintage-inspired line, which also incorporates modern manufacturing standards.
8. Customizable Stacking Rings
Stacking rings continue to trend, with more people seeking customizable sets that can grow with their life journey. Mix different textures, diamond shapes, or metal finishes to create a look that’s uniquely yours. Shinelle By Neelam offers individual and set pieces that allow for playful and personal ring combinations.

From The Russian Army 1914-18
Early War Uniforms (1914-1915)
At the outbreak of the war, Russian Imperial Army uniforms were traditional and formal, inspired by 19th-century European military fashion. Key features included:
Infantry: Soldiers wore the gymnastiorka, a pullover-style tunic with a standing collar, often in olive green or khaki to blend with rural landscapes. Rank was indicated by colored collar tabs and shoulder boards.
Headgear: Soldiers wore the M1910 peaked cap, which had a leather visor and badge. Officers and guards regiments wore the iconic shapka, a tall fur hat, especially in colder climates.
Footwear: Soldiers wore sapogi (knee-high leather boots), which were sturdy but hard to maintain on the battlefield.
Cavalry and Specialized Units: The cavalry wore the traditional long blue or dark green overcoat with distinct colored cuffs and collar insignia. Cossack and other specialized units had specific, unique uniforms, often featuring traditional garments like the cherkesska (a type of coat) and decorative braid.
Mid-War Changes (1915-1916)
As the war progressed, Russia’s economy and industry struggled to keep up with demand, leading to simplifications in uniforms:
Tunic: The gymnastiorka became simpler, often without the colored collar tabs or decorative elements. Khaki shades became standard as brighter colors were deemed impractical.
Greatcoat: The heavy wool shinel (overcoat) remained a staple, especially during harsh winters, but there was a shortage of quality fabric, and lower-quality cloth began to appear.
Headgear: Caps were simplified, with many soldiers receiving the budenovka (a soft, pointed wool cap) by 1917. This cap became especially popular in winter regions but had limited protection.
Late-War Uniforms (1917-1918)
The Russian military was increasingly influenced by revolutionary sentiments, and practical, minimal designs became the norm:
Tunic and Coats: Uniforms were pared down further, with basic olive-drab tunics and greatcoats. Rank insignia were minimal and often overlooked as soldiers became more focused on function than formality.
Insignia: Some units began to remove the imperial insignia altogether due to the influence of the Bolsheviks. Instead, red armbands or patches occasionally appeared.
Boots: Soldiers frequently substituted traditional boots with puttees (long cloth wraps) due to the shortage of leather, a trend seen across European forces during this period

Hi there! It's been a while since I last posted a new chapter of my comic. I apologize for the delay, as it took me a few months to complete it. There were some challenges along the way, but I'm hoping to be more productive in the future.
Here is a link to the previous installment, and all other installments of this comic can be found on the same page. Unfortunately, at the moment, there is no way to create an album in Tumblr :(

A small selection of the books my players had to dig through while searching a library for a tome with Plot Lore in it. I had some fun with these mixing boring nonsense with silly jokes and a few direct references to some of the works that vaguely contributed inspiration for the setting, though I did have to exclude one of the actual primary inspirations because recognizing it all would have been a spoiler! Full text under cut;
A History of Aurellia, Part 2, ES 999-1999
A dry history text detailing Aurellian politics and events of significance between the years ES 0999 and ES 1999. The writing is archaic, but relatively consistent with commonly available modern retellings.
Lunar Astronomy and Your Oath to Her Memory
A book ostensibly about astronomy, filled with numerous reminders that detailed study of the Lunar Surface is strictly off limits and constitutes a breach of faith and defiling of the Goddess Daughter's resting place.
Cooking with Colour - Making Vegetables into Art
A series of cookbooks borderline obsessed with ensuring that each plate of food consists of food from at least 4 different colours. This entry in particular is about using a variety of vegetables to achieve this effect, whether in a bowl or on a plate. An entire section of the book is dedicated to which vegetables will tint a puree in a given hue.
The 7 Habits of Influential Bishops
A self-help book styled to help aspiring clergy build confidence and rise through the ranks while honouring Iril.
Tales from the Hollow! XVI: The Dark Side of the Moon!
A pulpy book containing action and horror fiction about supernatural monsters and daring adventurers. This entry supposes that creatures from space could emerge from the behind the moon and invade Ilorna from the sky.
The Dwarf's Guide to Stonemasonry
A treatise on stoneworking techniques allegedly written by a dwarf for humans. It covers both mundane techniques as well as ways in which Dwarven intuition can be supplemented for by experience and tools.
Arithmetic and Accounting
A book on sums and figures for the purpose of economic accounting.
The Collected Works of Edgar Elven Foe
A poetry compliation from a Mohrish statesman renowned for holding of the Shinese Imperial Army from advancing into Mohren in 2831. While often seen as a national hero and a celebrated author, modern eyes find his works to have an uncomfortable racial charge.
Journey to the East
A fictionalized story of a Qinhua monk's journey from Shinel to Haesthe in search of lost scriptures and weaving techniques. The novel is semi-historical but embellished with stories of Shinese folklore and fantasy elements.
Considered one of the great Shinese novels.
Cogito, Ergo, Proxy, Sum
A speculative fiction novel about city contained within a magic dome to shield its citizens from an outside world unfit for survival. It's main hook are a race of advanced alchemical golems and an increasing inability to differentiate them from Kith. The book begins with explosive action, but partway through shifts to long discussion of philosophy and loses the interest of many.
Princess of Monsters
A fantasy novel about the princess of a small native tribe in Ruial who journeys east to cure herself of a demonic curse but becomes embroiled in a conflict between Sekorhan nature spirits and a mining town and meeting an orcish girl raised by dire wolves.
Rampage
A dark and depressing fantasy novel about a woman with a cursed brand that attracts monsters, a metal arm, and a giant axe as she travels the world seeking vengeance on the woman who betrayed her. The beloved but unapproachable series of novels ran for over fifty years and is well known for a segment where its protagonists remain on a seafaring vessel for over 10 years of printed volumes.

I'm moving in with someone I love
My best friend. Which, for someone like me is some real typical shit. But, it's stupid to walk away from the fact that this is someone I love and who i know loves me. That we're not in a relationship and choosing not to be doesn't change that.
As a poly person, navigating multiple loves feels natural, but that doesn't come without it's responsibilities. I'm learning about that. I'm learning that a capacity to love in multitudes isn't an obligation to do it. I actually don't like people, and I don't have to be more open to people than i normally would be, just because I'm poly.
We will have to navigate it inside of the fact that we have loved each other for a long time but have decided multiple times (with a pretty recent check in) that that's not where we need or want our relationship to go. That said, I still think I should be careful about surrounding myself with people while she and I are getting used to our new space.
If things work with Shinel, or if even we're willing to try, she and Ariel will have to be cordial. They, together, are the two people in the world that know me best. I'd like if they could be friends, even, but I think I have to be really careful and sensitive with Ariel about this, and with myself about what I should be expecting from both of them.

Unveiling the Essential Components of the Russian Winter Uniform in World War II
In the unforgiving landscape of Eastern Europe during World War II, the Russian winter posed a formidable challenge to soldiers on both sides of the conflict. However, the Red Army was well-prepared for the harsh conditions, outfitting its troops with specialized winter uniforms designed to withstand the freezing temperatures and maintain combat effectiveness. In this article, we delve into the intricacies of the russian winter uniform ww2, exploring its key components and the role they played in the Soviet war effort.
The Great Patriotic War and the Need for Winter Uniforms: When Nazi Germany launched its invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941, it underestimated the ferocity of the Russian winter. As the campaign dragged on into the colder months, German soldiers found themselves ill-equipped to handle the extreme cold, while their Soviet counterparts, clad in specially designed winter gear, gained a crucial advantage on the battlefield.
Components of the Russian Winter Uniform:
Telogreika: At the heart of the Russian winter uniform was the telogreika, a quilted jacket with a distinctive checkerboard pattern. Insulated with cotton, wool, or sometimes down, the telogreika provided essential warmth without sacrificing mobility. Its design featured a button-up front and a high collar to protect the neck from icy winds.
Valenki: Keeping the feet warm and dry was essential in the harsh winter conditions. Russian soldiers wore valenki, traditional felt boots that were thick, durable, and insulated. Valenki were designed to be worn with thick wool socks and could withstand snow and mud, providing reliable footwear for winter warfare.
Ushanka: Perhaps the most iconic element of the Russian winter uniform was the ushanka, a fur hat with ear flaps that could be tied up on top of the head or fastened under the chin for added warmth. The fur lining provided insulation against the cold, while the ear flaps could be lowered to protect the ears and cheeks in extreme weather.
Sharovary: To cover the legs, soldiers wore sharovary, wide trousers that allowed for ease of movement and could be worn over other layers of clothing. Sharovary were typically made from thick wool or cotton and provided additional insulation against the cold.
Shinel: Over the telogreika, soldiers often wore the shinel, a long overcoat made from heavy wool or fur. The shinel offered added protection against wind and snow, making it an essential outer layer in the Russian winter uniform.
Conclusion: The Russian winter uniform played a crucial role in the Red Army's ability to withstand the harsh conditions of the Eastern Front during World War II. By equipping its soldiers with specialized gear designed for extreme cold, the Soviet Union gained a significant advantage over its adversaries and ultimately emerged victorious in the brutal conflict. The telogreika, valenki, ushanka, sharovary, and shinel were not just garments; they were symbols of resilience and determination in the face of adversity, embodying the indomitable spirit of the Soviet soldier in the frozen battlegrounds of the Eastern Front.
