My adult advice is if you do pursue something you're passionate in for a career (or really if you go about getting any job) that being treated like shit is not fair to you. Working over 40 hours for your dream job a week, working 60 hour crunch hours for months for your dream job, working with no health insurance for years, your dream job paying you a wage too low to live where you need to in order to do the job so you're financially getting worse, your job not hiring enough people because you care about the work too much to let it fail so they just overwork you and have you do 2-3 peoples jobs, your dream job does not protect you from work hazards and you feel you'll lose your job if you bring it up? You don't deserve any of that shit. You deserve better. Whether your job is some boring thing you don't care about, or your absolute favorite thing in the world that you care about deeply and find to be the meaning of your life, you deserve to be treated fairly. You deserve to not be overworked to the point of suicidal or sick, you deserve to be able to go to the doctor and take your kids to the doctor and know if your kid gets a long term illness you can get long term treatment, you deserve to not have the entire success of a company fall on your shoulders to do multiple jobs if you weren't the supervisor who decided Not to adequately hire, you deserve to be able to go pee when you need to, you deserve to have adequate protection from dangers to your life. Period. No matter what job. If you're being treated like shit, you don't deserve it. It's not a price you should be expected to endure, not even for your dream job. It's a fucked up situation that real people caused by deciding to treat their employees badly.
#rant#feel free to ignore#but like. if you never had a job yet or havent had many jobs yet or ur in college#its some food for thought.#i just like. when i was a child i didnt understand some choices my dad made.#now that im an adult? i do have a job i like and find meaningful.#but also like... i did WANT to do character concept art for video games. but i see employees in those companies now#workjng 60 hour crunch hours. short term contract work so no health insurance.#and its like... well i needed 4 surgeries in the last 4 years. i needed the ER like 20 times.#i needed 2 of those surgeries as a direct result of when i worked 60 hour weeks for a year#and it made me both mentally suicidal despite Liking the work. and physically damaged my health for life#and now i need medicine montjly that costs 600 or more if i didnt have insurance.#so its like... well. if i had tried to do character concept art for X companies games i played?#well id be dead right now. dead before age 28. because 60 hour workweeks over a year probably wouldve killed me#my life wouldnt have been worth drawing if yhat job turned my passion into my own hell and my own killet#you get me?#like. even if you pursue a dream job (or a hated job even)#know your limits. your life is most important. if a job says 60 hours ans you got 2 kids and need to work#until you can get another job to hire you? then you take the risk probably yeah#or youre healthy and willing to suffer for 4 months before ysing the experience to apply for a job that is 40 hours a#week and pays more. but if a job is demanding inhumane bullshit it IS a horrible thing#and its something you deserve better than.

Temporary Car Insurance vs. Annual Insurance: Understanding the Differences ?
Tumblr media
Introduction: When it comes to car insurance, there are different options available to suit various needs and circumstances. Temporary car insurance, including options such as 1 week, 2 week, and 7 day car insurance, offers flexibility for drivers in the United Kingdom. Understanding the differences between temporary car insurance and annual insurance is crucial in making the right choice for your coverage requirements.
Temporary Car Insurance: Temporary car insurance provides coverage for a specific duration, ranging from a few days to a few weeks or even up to 30 days. It is ideal for situations where you need insurance for a short period, such as borrowing a friend’s car or taking a road trip.
Annual Insurance: Annual insurance, on the other hand, provides coverage for a full year. It is the traditional insurance option and is suitable for those who own a vehicle and require ongoing protection throughout the year.
Benefits and Considerations: Temporary car insurance offers flexibility, cost savings, and convenience for drivers who don’t require year-round coverage. It allows you to customize your insurance to specific time frames and avoid paying for insurance when you don’t need it. However, annual insurance provides continuous coverage, eliminates the need for frequent renewals, and may offer additional benefits like no-claim bonuses.
Choosing the Right Option: When deciding between temporary car insurance and annual insurance, consider factors such as the duration of coverage needed, frequency of vehicle use, and cost-effectiveness. Evaluate your unique requirements and compare quotes from reputable insurance providers to make an informed decision.
Conclusion: Temporary car insurance and annual insurance serve different purposes and cater to specific needs. While temporary car insurance offers flexibility and short-term coverage options, annual insurance provides continuous protection for a full year. Assess your circumstances, duration of coverage required, and budget considerations to choose the right type of insurance that best suits your needs.

disability insurance short term
Short-term disability insurance, as the name implies, provides coverage for a certain time in the event of a temporary disability. The benefits are only valid for a maximum of two years, just as the policy. This disability insurance policy allows you to continue receiving benefits until the end of your coverage period or your full recovery. A form of optional disability insurance short-term replaces all or a portion of an employee's pay in the case of a brief disability.

I’ll try to post some more details in a bit but I’m gonna be taking commissions to help make up the money I won’t be making due to not working after my gender affirming surgery. It’ll probably be mostly $20 headshots and selectively a couple $50 half body commissions. I’ll probably take them in batches in 5 but yes I’ll make a more organized post when I’m not sleepy x

What Is Short Term Insurance Plan?
The primary objective of short term insurance plans is to act as a financial safety net for your family. These plans offer coverage for a specific duration, providing a guaranteed sum to your nominee in the event of an unforeseen circumstance during this period. Short term insurance policies typically offer coverage for 5 – 40 years. However, if you require temporary financial protection for your loved ones, you can opt for a policy with a shorter tenure. Such short-duration term plans are commonly referred to as short term insurance policies.
Features of short-term insurance
1.Death benefit: The policy pays the sum assured to your nominee if an unwanted event occurs during the policy term.
Tax deduction: The premiums for your short-term policy are eligible for deduction from your taxable income under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
Add-on covers: For a nominal increase in the premium, you can extend your base cover against possible contingencies and get:
A lump-sum payout upfront on the diagnosis of life-threatening ailments covered under the planPayouts on permanent disability due to an accidentExtra payouts paid to your family over and above the base sum assured if untimely demise occurs due to an accident
Low premiums: Term plans have no investment feature. Hence, these policies typically require lower premiums than other life insurance products. Also, the premium amount depends on the policy period and the sum assured. Since short-term insurance policies have lower policy tenures, the premiums are usually low.
When to get a short term insurance policy?
If you have immediate financial liabilities that can burden your family in case of an unforeseen event, a short term plan can be useful. You can consider buying this policy if:
You have an unpaid debt: The policy term can match the loan or mortgages repayment tenure. The payout will help your family repay the loan in your absence.
Only a few years are left until your retirement: Term plans are often used to get financial cover throughout an individual’s working years. If your retirement is close, a short-term policy can secure your family’s financial health in the interim period.
You are a senior citizen and your old life insurance is expiring soon: Many insurers allow term plan purchase until the age of 65 years. If you are over 60 years of age and expect your family members to attain financial independence soon, a short-term insurance policy can be apt for your insurance needs.
The time to fulfil your financial liabilities is imminent: You may have to pay for your children’s higher education or wedding within a few years. In such circumstances, an unexpected event can derail your loved ones life goals. A short-term policy can safeguard against such uncertainties. However, a short-term policy is not meant to replace the coverage your family needs to meet their living expenses in case of an emergency. You should use it only as an additional layer of financial protection over your existing life cover or bridge any insurance gap.

How Country Health Connect Delivers National Disability Insurance Scheme Services
The National Disability Insurance Scheme Services (NDIS) is a Commonwealth-funded program to help people with disability get the support they need to live their lives. It is a holistic and individualised system, with participants being provided with funding to purchase services that will help them achieve their goals and live the life they want to lead.
There are a number of supports available under the NDIS, including health, accommodation and social inclusion activities. At Country Health Connect, we have a specialist team who provide NDIS services to our clients. This ranges from the provision of specialist allied health and nursing services through to individualised child, adult and community programs. These programs are delivered by our highly skilled team who work together to ensure our participants receive the best outcomes possible and can reach their potential.
NDIS participants are provided with an individualised plan to identify the support needs and goals that they have. This is then assessed by the NDIA to determine if these are reasonable and necessary, and if funding can be allocated for them. These plans are then used to purchase services from a service provider that is registered with the NDIS, including our organisation. Each year, the participant will attend a planning meeting with their NDIA planner who will talk to them about their goals and the support that they require for this year.
Despite the promise of choice and control, NDIS participants have often reported difficulties in using their funds and engaging with providers through the NDIS’s ‘personal budgets’ model. This has resulted in a breakdown of trust between the NDIA and disability communities. The NDIA is now faced with the challenge of rebuilding this trust, but it will take significant effort and a new ethos to do so (Dickinson & West, 2022).
In the short term, there are a number of things that can be done to improve the way in which the NDIS works. These include addressing the barriers to participation, improving transparency and accountability, and establishing an enforceable duty of care. However, the long-term solution will require a major overhaul of how the NDIS operates. This will require the involvement of all stakeholders including the NDIA, service providers, State and Territory Governments and, importantly, disability advocates (Dickinson & Olney, 2022).
The Independent Review into the NDIS has recently published its Working Together to Deliver the NDIS final report. This report contains 26 recommendations and 139 supporting actions. While it is still early days, PIAC has welcomed many of the recommendations and believes that they reflect the concerns that we and other disability advocates have raised in our submissions to the Review. The Commonwealth and State Governments will now need to decide whether and how they can implement these recommendations, in particular those that relate to registering and regulating service providers and eliminating restrictive practices (PIAC, 2023).
Epitome Care is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities achieve their goals and live with dignity, independence, and purpose. We empower our participants to overcome barriers, embrace their strengths, and live life on their own terms. With a team of passionate and experienced professionals, we strive to provide innovative support services to help them live their best life.
