May 31, 2024 - Jelski's Chat-Tyrant (Silvicultrix jelskii) Found in the Andes in western Peru and southern Ecuador, these tyrant flycatchers live at the edges of mountain forests, often near streams. Usually foraging alone and occasionally joining mixed-species flocks, they eat insects, capturing prey in short flights from low perches or sometimes from the ground. Nothing is known about their breeding behavior.

a tale told about a forest near a small village makes its way to the capital of the country and awakens the curiosity of one-half of twins.

                   he’d  been  looking  for  tig  ,  but  the  reasons  are  lost  upon  him  as  colleen  sits  him  down  at  the  kitchen  table  ;  hands  cupping  around  the  steaming  mug  of  coffee  she  places  in  front  of  him  &  it’s  like  a  weight  off  his  shoulders  despite  how  small  of  a  gesture  it  was  .  a  mumbled  thank  you  as  he  sips  the  hot  liquid  ,  not  minding  the  burn  in  his  mouth  before  he  glances  at  colleen  ;  they  had  gotten  off  on  the  wrong  foot  as  a  result  of  dawn’s  untimely  death  ,  but  things  seemed  to  have  smoothed  over  since  she  moved  back  in  with  tig  .  ❛  𝐢'𝐦  𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲  ,  𝐢𝐭'𝐬  𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭  ---------  ❜  trailing  off  on  his  apology  ,  because  the  woman  probably  didn’t  NEED  random  bikers  coming  into  her  house  at  only  9  in  the  morning  ,  but  no  excuse  seems  viable  .  ❛  𝐰𝐚𝐬  𝐚  𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠  𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭  .  ❜  &  maybe  he  just  needs  comfort  from  the  man  that  had  become  a  father  figure  of  sorts  to  him  ;  or  ,  from  the  woman  that  only  a  few  years  ago  had  been  throwing  empty  whiskey  bottles  at  his  head  for  trying  to  protect  her  when  the  man  he’d  been  looking  for  was  nowhere  to  be  found  .

October 14, 2022 - Yellow-bellied Chat-tyrant (Silvicultrix diadema) Found in northwestern South America, these tyrant flycatchers inhabit the undergrowth of mountain forests. They eat insects, especially small beetles, foraging on or near the ground, frequently in pairs, sometimes near mixed-species flocks. Breeding between January and December, depending on the area of their range, they likely build mossy cup-shaped nests on banks. Females lay clutches of four eggs.

It hatches from brown, brownish, central, eastern, entire, mid, northern, obvious, plain, prominent, separate, small, temperate, upper, white, and yellow eggs.
