This may just be me, but I think if you ship a canonically very abusive, manipulative and toxic relationship, you don't get to judge or call anyone degenerates for their own fucked up ships, actually.

Im learning how to crochet! While sewing and cosplay is still my Big Main Hobby i wanted something I could take with me to work and pull out if I had a few minutes of downtime.
The first stitch i learned is the Half Double Crochet Slip Stitch which ends up looking like knit cables! Hopefully this will be a beanie!
You can also see how wonky my first rows were compared to when i got some better control over my tension and rhythm lol

Nothing against low level jobs really, but one of our engineering techs was only a food service worker before this. Like an associates does something for you (don't know if that's what he has even he may be a student) I guess, but no wonder these guys aren't ready for engineering.
#totes bro#its.......a long term investment#i now know that these guys are techs because he said he was an engineer#what i do isnt hard and i guess theyre only supposed to assist but i havent seen any of them assist so idk what they do#i dont think we had engineering techs before i think it is just desperation#they're also not young#so schooling has left the brain a little#i know this sounds bad but they keep asking for me to teach them a thing and they stay at my desk for an hour#and god knows they like .....dont understand really basic technical concepts#and tbqh i do not have time for this#so now i know why I'm the favorite and the only one working. the other engineers have also complained about the new recruits#like you say 'lipids' and they dont know what you mean its just like extremely frustrating when theyre supposed to be#doing exactly what you do on more simple projects#but they absolutely cannot do that. like i get not being able to understand a super large system but they cant get like what fittings used#its frustrating because engineering isnt always low stakes#its not high stakes but a mistake can shut down a highway (happened recently)#ALSO the least qualified people always call themselves engineers#also i just changed from mechanical to civil engineering it is new for me#its still fluids somewhat which is what i was doing

in theory there is a series of next classes on sewing machine use to take, featuring instructions on various techniques
but as far as i can tell learning to assemble a tote bag has taught me everything i need to assemble drawstring project bags, which is what i actually got into this to learn to make in the first place
so im just going to book sewing machine time for next week, pre-cut some fabric i already have at home according to a drawstring bag pattern i found, and just. try making things?
#the place where i took the class lets u rent sewing machine time so i. am just going to go for it#i like taking classes when im a complete beginner but for crafts i very quickly move to the stage where i would like to try generalizing#through a combination of Looking Online and Trying Stuff. and will come back for more direct instruction once i am truly stymied on a parti#ular skill or technique. i took one knitting class when i was 9 to make sure i could form stitches the right way round and otherwise am#committed to just finding stuff online and trying it and it always works out. and i feel this should work the same way.#box opener#feel free to recommend other things that i should feel ready to just try given that i have 'can sew a simple tote bag' capacities#is it too bold to make a run at an unlined pair of drawstring shorts? i have some to use as a model! does it definitely need elastic?? will#that be hard??? can i definitely not learn it from blogs do you think. because if i can im gonna

Experiencing fma for the first time was such An Experience for me
#for both gender reasons and just for the simple fact that it is a damn good story that still has not been outdone#obviously ed and ling put cracks in my egg that would come to fruition 6 years later. but#like#idk the characters are superb the storyline is superb the themes well done. the atmosphere (physical and emotional) is bonkers#it's a series that has Balance and i wish i could experience it for the first time again#toting around several volumes of the manga in my backpack and trying to get my hands on the ones i hadnt read from the library#oh yeah

Lookie here. I have a rubber spider from the dollar store I got when I was a little kid. I decided it was a girl and she was squishy and weird like a stress ball. She would stretch a bit because she’s rubber. I named her Stringy. I would hold her by a leg and swing her around. Some of them broke a bit, I taped them back on with Electrical tape. She’s torn a bit between her abdomen and head so now I know she’s full of teeny tiny beads or something. I got her 15-20 years ago and she’s Still kicking around here somewhere.

I just want to be a kid again this time with better coping skills, an autism diagnosis, and less pressure to be completely independent all the time
#i think i suffered a lot as a kid because growing up everyone always told me i was very independent#and how i was self sufficient or whatever#and it was always toted as an amazing thing#so i pushed myself to be more and more independent even when i didn't want to be#to the point of nearly being unable to ask for help (and in most cases completely unable to ask for help or know what to do with help)#which then my parents got mad at#so now i sort of live in this situation where i constantly want to ask for help but seemingly just. can't.#which causes a lot of problems#being dependent on people makes me anxious even though i often need to because of my disability and my weird learning rates#like i learned how to tie my shoes in 6th grade#i don't really know how to cook currently#i do know how to use a drill and a follow spot and how to change a light bulb on an old school ERS#but i can't really do simple things like cook by myself or sometimes get out of bed#idk#and regression definitely is helping but yeah.#sorry this post was gonna be about how regression is helping me make up for all of this but it sort of turned into a vent ramble#tw vent
