You ever read something and know that someone was not in the fandom in the 2000s? Girl, our sims were doing literal child cannibalism. We were so far beyond being triggered by infidelity.

I'll tell you of one fandom I barely see any drama in (not saying it doesn't happen, I've just not seen much if it myself) is The Sims fandom - everyone is so sweet!

Back on the Sims liyfe and he is a merman but lives in a shipwreck in a forest full of the best art buy mode has to offer in the underground area beneath the wreck. I think he has lots of alien partners from the Star Wars world due to having to seduce them for information all the time of he wouldn't be let into the lair. He's also dating Santa Claus.

He somehow manages to be a neighbourhood confidante to everyone despite having 21 love interests all in the same town... not including the ones he has in the Star Wars realm. I think one is a werewolf, naturally.

He doesn't really sleep with anyone it appears as apparently his count is 6 times in all that and he only has 2 children.

The sheer amount in the local town though was because he got the Enchanting Greeting option and did it to loads of people thinking it was just a greeting that boosted social friendship quickly, until I saw all these people had the love interest line activated. They all turn up to the protests though so... yay? He kinda feels more like a cult leader tbh.

He is yet to be thrown in his grave with that one... he keeps having to give advice to date other people to his dates because you need to succeed in advising and influencing outcomes for your friends lives, and most of his friends are his lovers lmfao.

One of his lovers and parent of one of his kids invited him over to "come see her new dog" and he turned up and she had had one set of twin kids and 3 newborn babies that all looked the same but apparently one of the was my sims?? Not sure how that physically nor abiding by time laws works out. Some dog! Karma tbh.

All the while, he has a pristine reputation? Though he doesn't really fight with anyone.

He's got a pretty good career in politics, and does protests etc. And swinging leftie of course.

You wanna be him, you wanna do him, but u could nevr.

The only issue is, he has absolutely no electricity unless they're off grid lights, because he lives in a shipwreck in the woods, but we all must make our sacrifices.

Possibly one of my favorite niche little things TMA fans do on TikTok is literally flock to posts that are so insanely aligned with fears but SOMEHOW UNRELATED and just. Harass the poster. Like the woman with an emotional support wasp hive. People commented “does the hive sing to you?” ENOUGH TIMES THAT SHE LITERALLY MADE A POST MENTIONING IT. and I just saw a post about a guy saying he needs to dig and everyone was like “is there dig on every page?” God I love this fandom

I love shit like this. There's something so cool about being able to like... count the rings in mods made for the sims and how it gets changed over time as it changes hands. Legit, it's been almost 20 years and we tweak the game over time to the point where we end up with a game that's probably 50% the game that was made in 2004 and 50% organically made over the past 20 years.

I just realized that Jon's powers are a double-edged sword. He can make people tell him everything he needs just by asking a question but at the same time, people can make Jon say everything they want just by writing it as a statement. Looking at you, Jonah.

I find it funny the way Jon blames himself for the apocalypse. Cause essentially what happened is that Jonah put a nuke in his lunch and he blames himself for it.

Like, imagine you got a sandwich for lunch. You’ve been looking forward to eating this sandwich for so long, you haven’t had one in weeks. Your friend got it for you from a restaurant and you are so so excited.

It looks amazing, it smells amazing, you are so excited. Then, you go to take a bite and there’s a fucking nuke in it. It explodes and kills everyone around you, except for you. Then you blame yourself.

You didn’t put that nuke in it. You didn’t know there was one there. You were just trying to eat lunch.

It was the guy from that restaurant, he put a nuke in your sandwich! And it wasn’t even like he put it in a random sandwich and you just happened to get it. No, he put it specifically in your sandwich so when you try to eat your lunch it will explode.

And you know that he put the nuke in your sandwich. Cause he wrote you a note explaining to you exactly why and how he did it. He told you it was so it would explode and kill everyone, and he told you that he put it specifically in your sandwich. And he hid the note so you would only see it after you started eating, at which point it was already too late.

And you still blame yourself. Even though you had no idea. How does that make sense?
