I think the reason that blood quantum being bad is so hard for white Americans to figure out is that they regularly do this to themselves. “I’m a quarter Italian, half Irish, quarter Swedish” or whatever.

The problem is that they started doing this long after they stopped being connected to their European roots and, and don’t understand how dividing native people up like that is a way to attempt to force us away from our traditional ways of life and our land.

Because modern Americans see it as benign. Because they’re not connected with their people. They’ve already lost a lot of that to the mass American culture. And can’t fathom how this would be bad for someone who’s culture is rapidly vanishing.
