Yesterday's lunch at sugar labo in box hill, melbourne worked better than i expected: the soft serve mellowed out the edge of spiciness that i might not otherwise have been able to take, as well as the saltiness from the miso, for a more balanced broth. I reckon that it was probably one of the best ramen that i've had, at least in Melbourne, and i might give it another shot, this time with the chashu. 8/10
p.s. That said, i would add another point if they replaced the ramen with soba/udon lol
p.p.s. i could always try making it at home, especially since one can get soft serve cones at an asian grocery

Street Churros, 500 N Atlantic Blvd #121, Monterey Park, CA 91754
Big Softee closed! Anyway, I thought I’d try the soft serve ice cream at Street Churros since I couldn’t go to Big Softee. Interestingly, the Street Churros space was once occupied by Yogen Fruz. Street Churros has churros, drinks, soft serve ice cream, Korean snacks, fries, and popcorn chicken. They don’t have toppings for the ice cream but they do have drizzles (chocolate, caramel, strawberry).
Soft serve flavors: Ube, Vanilla
Vanilla soft serve ($4.50): I wasn’t expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. It tasted like good frozen custard – smooth, rich, sweet, thick, creamy.
Order at the counter. The shop looked clean. There was no seating inside.
4 out of 5 stars.
