Writing is a very good way to work on one's emotions and to become aware that "What is on the paper is no longer inside me".
For intense emotions and in emergency situations, it can be difficult to have a practice of recognition and observation. In order not to be overwhelmed, we will use belly breathing techniques in these cases in order to lower the stress level at first.
Then, we will try to localize the emotion in our body by paying attention to our sensations, we will focus on these perceptions without judging them. We will imagine that our breathing is where the emotion is located in order to relieve the symptoms and then we will defocus on the malaise by replacing negative thoughts with alternative and positive thoughts.
The goal is that this type of exercise practiced regularly becomes a reflex, an automatism that we will develop as an intuition that leads to an awareness of one's identity in order to free oneself and live healthily with one's emotions.

incoherent rant under the cut
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I’m screaming here because I can’t scream at work. I wish, though.
I’m stressed and tired and my anxiety and this wonderful technique of “I’ll just everything inside and die one day” isn’t paying off. Anxiety has been going through the roof lately, peaking in a oh so wonderful anxiety attack two Wednesday ago, which sent me to the ER because I though I was doing hyperthyroïdism.
Waking up and getting out of bed is an ordeal, going to the car and driving has me terrified because I keep thinking “what will happen if I have an attack????” I’ve been scared of dying for almost two weeks and the worst in all that is that it’s only MY BRAIN messing up.
And what’s even more messed up is that I’m unable to create anything and I just see the days going by and everyone out there being so creative and productive and I just want to curl up in a ball and cry and also for my throat to stop feeling as if it’ll double in size and strangle me.
UGH.
Also work. Work is great. I love work. I love work so much that I’m scared to death about losing it. Which doesn’t help with anxiety attacks. Because I work less well. And I just want to stay home and cry.
I can’t eat in the morning, I feel icky and tired and just generally bad and I HATE MY BRAIN.
On a more positive note, I did two sophrology sessions which turned out great. Now, if I could implement that kind of relaxation in my everyday life...
I also need to find an hobby that doesn’t involve sitting before a computer. And a psychologist.
There.
I just want this day to be over.
