The actual skull was used. The eyes are removed, cleaned, filled with clay. Then the acrylic eyes are set in the real emptied eyeballs. Those eyeballs are set into the skull with clay. The "brow" ridge and other features are rebuilt with clay under the skin.

The real legs were skinned down to the first knuckle and stripped of flesh and tendons. My wires are attached, then everything I removed is added back with epoxy clay. The scaley leg skin is sewn back up and left to dry. I then hide the stitches by blending epoxy clay over them to match the texture of the leg. Then they are painted.

“Angel had to apologize in front of the student body, and she’s played this year knowing if anything else happened she’d be off the team for the year,” her mother said. “People come at her, but she plays at a college level against high school girls. When she steps on the court she doesn’t hold back. She’s going to go at you until you sit down.”

Pavlech took a screenshot of both messages from the coach and posted them on her personal Overtime Instagram page (that post, as seen above, has since been removed). Pavlech included her own message at the top of her Tuesday post: “Why do women try to tear down young girls?”

Later Thursday, Smith’s name had been removed from the site, with athletic director Jeffrey Parsons now listed as the current head coach of the girls team.

The number of people with highly drug-resistant bacterial infections linked to contaminated eyedrops has reached 81, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Friday.

The 81 cases, up from 68 identified in March, include 14 people who have been blinded and four others who had to have their eyeballs surgically removed.

Though most infections have been limited to the eyes, the bacteria can be fatal when it enters the bloodstream. As of Monday, the CDC said, four people have died.

"These were catastrophic and life-altering infections," Maroya Spalding Walters, who leads the CDC's antimicrobial resistance team, said in an interview.

Though many patients said they’d used multiple brands of eyedrops, EzriCare Artificial Tears was found to be a common brand among those infected. Opened bottles of the EzriCare eyedrops were also found to harbor the same bacteria found in samples taken from patients.

The EzriCare products were manufactured by Global Pharma Healthcare in India and sold mostly online. The CDC and FDA said people should stop using them, as well as two other eye products made by the same manufacturer: Delsam Pharma’s Artificial Tears and Delsam Pharma’s Artificial Eye Ointment.

GRIFFIN, Georgia, Dec 9 (Reuters) - Protesters filled the meeting room of the Spalding County Board of Elections in October, upset that the board had disallowed early voting on Sundays for the Nov. 2 municipal election. A year ago, Sunday voting had been instrumental in boosting turnout of Black voters.

But this was an entirely different five-member board than had overseen the last election. The Democratic majority of three Black women was gone. So was the Black elections supervisor.

Now a faction of three white Republicans controlled the board – thanks to a bill passed by the Republican-led Georgia legislature earlier this year. The Spalding board’s new chairman has endorsed former president Donald Trump’s false stolen-election claims on social media.

The panel in Spalding, a rural patch south of Atlanta, is one of six county boards that Republicans have quietly reorganized in recent months through similar county-specific state legislation. The changes expanded the party’s power over choosing members of local election boards ahead of the crucial midterm Congressional elections in November 2022.
