Do you have Headcanons about the omega decepticon high command?
Hmmmmm
Starscream is the KING of nest building. Out of all the Matriarchs, he's the one that puts the most effort into his nest. Just a giant Vosian bowl-shaped bed, overflowing with pillows and blankets and various soft things he's collected. If anything disrupts the delicate harmony he's created prepare for him to go ballistic. He's extremely possessive of his trine and, to a lesser extent, his seekers as a whole. They're all incredibly stupid idiots, but they're his idiots, and if they do smthn dumb he expects to hear about it so he can straighten them out himself. No one else is allowed to discipline the seekers, they're his. Star's special omega smell is that lovely after-rain smell combined with a twist of ozone. Don't ask me about the other two cuz idk yet lmao. Megatron definitely smells like gunpowder but I feel like that's every Megatron, yk?
Omega Soundwave is still the spymaster that knows everything about everyone, and not just because he's constantly linked up the warship systems. He has the most sensitive hearing and sense of smell of any recorded mecha, ever: even away from the ship, he knows exactly where you are and what mood you're in before you even see him. He can hear other's sparkpulses and their thoughts, and he can read any situation with ease. He catches heats and ruts before they happen, always knows when the sparklings are getting hungry, and he's the only one of high command that is any kind of tactile with Megatron. It's rare and does not happen where anyone can see, but every so often he'll nuzzle up under Megatron's chin, against the underside of his throat. They'll just stay like that for a bit, the Head Matriarch's arms ghosting over his bare and undefended front while he purrs. Moments of weakness and trust are rare in their circumstances, but very important 😌
As for Megatron... I think the reason he started the war was still the same, a shit load of class inequality and systemic abuse, and is determined come hell or highwater that everyone in the universe is going to fear him. Let them see a so-called tender, delicate lifegiver tearing the universe asunder, let them see that something as unimportant as presentation does not have any bearing on a person's capabilities. They want to call him evil and wicked and broken, a failure of an omega? Excellent. He relishes in it.
#omegaverse#hope this is smthn along the lines of what you were after lol#megatron#Starscream#Soundwave

Why I don’t see TFP Bulkhead as a gentle giant at all... and love him even more for it.
I’ve been meaning to write this for about a month and a half now, so here we go. Something I see a lot, through fan chatter and fanart and the Wiki page, and even hear on the TFP DVDs with commentary, is this descriptor used towards Bulkhead: gentle giant. We all know what that is, it’s the big huge guy that’s really tough but actually loves kittens and carries umbrellas for little old ladies. The big-but-sweet guy. That. Yeah. People use that term all the time to describe Bulkhead... and I couldn’t disagree more. He is not, in my perspective, a “gentle giant” at all, in spite of the bundle of sweetness that was his Transformers: Animated origins...
And actually, I like him a lot better that way.
Fair warning, ya’all, this is going to be a long one...
Check this guy out. This is Bulkhead. He’s big, he’s green, he’s got wrecking balls for hands when he fights, and for a long time he’s the second-largest member of Team Prime, the muscle of the group. He is also, in my opinion, the biggest jerk on the entire team. Even Ratchet’s crotchety old man act doesn't come close to me, because he does not act on it. Bulkhead does. So why do I think so few others consider that? Because of this:

Meet Miko Nakadai, Bulkhead’s human partner. He’s always worried about her, always looking out for her. He tries to protect her, even when she makes it practically impossible for him. He worries about how she’s doing in school, how she will make a future for herself, in a way that’s downright fatherly (Deus Ex Machina). He takes her to fun events, even though he can’t exactly walk around with her (Monster Truck Rally in TMI). He watches out for her happiness. And a lot of people look at Bulkhead and Miko and sing their praises of his efforts... but not to the right tune, I’m thinking, because they’re often overlooking some of the more questionable things he’s done in the series. Things like...
Trying to leave not one, but two humans in the grasp of the Decepticons. Agent Fowler was actually tortured at the hands of Starscream, and Bulkhead... didn’t much care until somebody else made him (Darkness Rising, Part 3). And what about the bully, Vince? Captured by Knock Out in Speed Metal, Bulkhead honestly couldn’t care less. This is a kid, Miko and Jack’s age... but too bad for him, because Bulkhead, and I quote, “heard he was a jerk.” Everyone talks about Ratchet’s distaste for humans because he’s so vocal about it, but I honestly don’t see how Bulkhead is much better early on... he’s perfectly content to not lift a servo for anyone who falls into Decepticon hands.
And then what about the things that fall into his hands? In Darkness Rising, Part 2, Bulkhead picks up a tool Ratchet uses and destroys it in his hand... to punctuate a sentence? Ironically, the line is this: “ Team Prime knows when to use force, and how much to use!” Yes, you just demonstrated that you know exactly how much force it takes to wreck Ratchet’s gear. In Deus Ex Machina the destroyed piece is a tool Ratchet needs right then (his frame welder) and it is destroyed out of anger. From the get-go he’s been known to smash or break things out of anger, and in fact in said episode he refers to breaking things as being what he’s best at. In Scrapheap, Arcee is very quick to assume that the reason they can’t get in touch with the base is Bulkhead somehow. Optimus has a hard time denying how possible this really is. Later on in Orion Pax, Part 1, he destroys Ratchet’s property, again just out of pure frustration and anger... and then, when Ratchet tries to call him out on it, Bulkhead sneers at him “What, you needed that?” He knows what he’s doing, and he mocks Ratchet’s anger over it. He has zero regard for the property of his teammates when he’s in a bad mood... not that he much cares for their feelings at those times, either.
Although admittedly, Arcee was not doing her part at easing the tension of this situation, either...
And let’s not forget how he treats his enemies for the full brutality of Bulkhead. In the episode Armada, where Bulkhead beats a Starscream clone to death with his bare hands (I can’t recall, actually, if he used his wrecking balls or not) thinking it was the real deal, he seems actually perturbed later to find out Starscream didn’t die. Or how about Darkness Rising, Part 4, where he kills a Vehicon by ripping it’s insides out. I’m not even going to go into the kettle of fish that is Operation: Breakdown right now. Bulkhead, Optimus Prime asked you to do the right thing and save a fellow Cybertronian from MECH and you essentially told him to frag off. Enough. Said. It’s dangerous enough being Bulkhead’s ally. Being his enemy only assures a brutal, painful, probably terrifying death...
So uh, where’s this part about all of this making me love him even more?
So here’s the thing. From my perspective, taking all of this into account, there is nothing inherently gentle about Bulkhead at all. Sorry, TF Wiki, I’m going to stand firm on this one. He claims he was in construction, but those are destruction tools on his hands, demolition tools. He holds enemy life in zero regard, and feels about the same for humans most of the time; he doesn’t care about them. He’s petty and petulant, even childish in his temperament... he is dangerous to be around, for friend (or friend’s gear) or foe. Pretty much the only person not at risk of his temper, in fact, is this little fifteen-year-old girl, this hyperactive, impulsive disturber of the peace who has affixed herself to him. Bulkhead loves this child, fusses over her like she were his own, and tries his best to keep her safe. And this goes completely against his nature, honestly.
That is what I love about it.

In order to protect this child, who loves him just as unconditionally in return, Bulkhead has to fight that more violent nature. He has to make a conscious effort to be gentle with her, to be careful, to not put her into harm’s way. He has to watch his step with those over-sized feet, and compensates by giving her shoulder rides instead. The mech who crushes steel and pulls out wiring with his bare hands has to be delicate to pick her up... I think it’s telling that in what I believe was Shadowzone (I may be wrong on the exact episode this time) he even picks up Miko’s cell phone without damaging it... showing a care with her property that he certainly doesn’t show for anyone else’s. And none of this is natural to him. None of this is probably all that easy, either. It takes a conscious choice on his part, and he has to work at it constantly. When you’re used to swinging your fists when you’re mad, it takes a lot of self-control to stop when you could put someone else at risk. And he does. Because he loves this child like she was his own. He loves this child enough that he will suppress his own inherently violent impulses to keep her safe.
And what’s not to love about that?

Bumblebee
Welcome to my long post about this boi because he's my fav ahah!
First impression:
In 2011 it I watched the first Transfromers baymovie. It was the "ohh he's an alien who quickly befriended a hum that so cool I love him!" thing, I so easy to please when it comes to interspecies relationships. I enjoyed the movies and Bumblebee quickly became my fav.
Then love for him solidified more and I found out about his G1 version and his info immediately spoke to me om personal level. He's cute, getting along human and seem gentle, but he also struggles with hiS place in the world and among his own friends.
It hit close to home.
Impression now:
I know I keep repeating myself a lot, but Bumblebee deserves a good writing! I want to see this original self with his struggles to be properly explored!
It only he wouldn't fall into " cute mascot of the show" box =/
He has so much potential for incredible character arc. This subject rarely appears, and if it does, it usually resolved quickly, which is not how it works.
In Plight of the Bumblebee from old marvel comics, he gets depressed ( yes, not just upset) about he don't feel belong among Autobots. He feels useless and even responsible for losing the battle ("If I were more help" ), firmly believing no one will notice if he's gone. He wishes to be a human because humans are weak, and if he was a human, someone would need him.
Then he just runs away without a word.
And then much later in Go for a Gold & Win if You Dare he compares himself to meteors, that burn in atmosphere before making any impact. And even if they do - they crush to pieces. Not to mention he constantly talks himself down ( "I'm not smart as Wheeljack", "I'm not strong as Grimlock") almost through entire the comic.
This this depressing as fuck, and believe me, just because your friends saved you or because you realized the importance of teamwork those feelings will not go away. Sure you will feel validated for few day, but they will come again, and again, and again.
He feels alienated from his own people, he feels weak, useless and unwanted, he has a constant need to prove himself, even if it kills him. His highest stat is courage, and this is probably why!
All this brings up an important question I haven't found a answer: what happened to him?!
Insecurities, especially like these, never appear out of thin air!
He shows signs of neglect at best, or abuse at worst.
Dreamwave's Guide said that Sunstreaker is bulling him and constantly makes fun of his failures in front other Autobots who laugh, believing it's just teasing. But cmon, I don't need tell you how damaging this shit is, especially when it's done for years.
But sadly, it's just a guide, it's not even a comic, so why?? Why not explore this??? Like seriously!
Even in TFA where it was shown that Bumblebee was abused in bootcamp, but the show never, ever made it a trauma, which is ridiculous! Optimus, Ratchet and Prowl had their own struggles, but Bumblebee must remain okay? As if being constantly picked up, and his legs being detached while he was locked isn't traumatizing enough??? I swear, people don't realized how bulling can break people and drive them to suicide ugh.
Another thing that bothers me is why Bumblebee needs to die (Goldbug) in order to become mature and stop stressing about what others thinks? And if he reverts back to Bumblebee, his insecurities are suddenly back as if nothing happened??
This is why I will not calm down until I see proper writing for him. I will demand his presence in each TF media and I don't care if fandom hates him xD
Because cmon, you can have a character with struggles and dark secrets who is also is full of hear and tender =/
Seriously, hire me Hasbro!
Favorite moment:
Ohhh there are so many across multiple continuities! I love every moment when he interact with his human friends and Windblade! ))) And generally Bumblebee is such delight to see, even if I picky about his looks ahah.
Idea for a story:
This is entirety of Sparkpulse! He not only has insecurities, but he has to deal with horrific trauma and phobias. He' not just a cute mascot or angry boi - this Bumblebee can do both!
He's like force of nature, a benevolent being who will bear many blessings to people he care about, to people who treat him kindness and respect...but if you wrong him, you will pay in full.
I explore a lot for ideas here. Like anger is not being inherently evil emotion, but a useful and powerful tool if controlled.
Or the fact that cute and kind character can be genially terrifying if he want to be.
He has so much compassion, but at the same time he can be relentless and merciless. Yet even here, he knows the price of life and will only resort to killing if literally anything else failed.
He's dedicated and wise, but also too hard on himself.
He's incredibly strong, but this strength is not limitless. Bumblebee must learn to rely on others, that it's okay to be weak, that he doesn't have to be useful in order to live.
This journey is long and full of hardship, but he's not alone and with his friends help he will let himself to make a first step towards healing.
Unpopular opinion:
I would only say that Bee is not bad character and actually can very complex. It's just Hasbro refuses to write him properly, sadly not many ppl see it and explore possibilities.
Oh well, I will have to do it myself then)
Favorite relationship:
I love his relationship with Windblade, like said in her post, it's very Ghibli like and full of love. I also love his relationships with humans! I would say much more, but I'm a bit tired and I don't know where to start.
Also his relationship with Starscream is such fun concept, that I will dive into it in my cont!
Favorite headcanon:
Oh gosh, there are way too many of them, the entire Sparkpusle is build on headcanons and ideas xD

Boom right away it's "0" for Driftceptor
1. How do they have a bean? (Include your headcanons!)By COMPLETE ACCIDENT.It was a case of waking up the morning after, realizing there were no firewalls, there was no planning- and they both panic just a little. The big mistake though? Was assuming it would be Drift who carried, because his spark was healthier. Cue two hours later, Percy’s mid breakdown in the medibay and Ratchet is kinda dumbfounded because “Perceptor, there’s two distinct sparkpulses.”And that’s also the same day Perceptor’s reputation as being “cold and aloof” was mcfucking DESTROYED.2. Would they have one bean or more than one bean? If more, how many? They want more than one, to be sure- but its always a risk, with one of them having an unstable spark. Perceptor’s sparkdamage is something that hides in the back of Drift’s mind more often than not, which is also why they are USUALLY so adamant about protections.3. What’s the bean’s shape? Size? The bean is a little peapod shape at first- but very stubby. they get longer as they grow, but still both parents wonder if they might have a mini on their hands- turns out the beeb is just short. But what they lack in height they make up for in sass.4. Is their bean an exceptionally cuddly squishy blob or no? The little gremlin is practically a munchkin cat- short and wriggly and always Yell for Attention. Also a serial shoulder-percher.5. Does their bean have basic protoform appendages (chevron, finials, wings, etc.) forming yet? Finials! Perceptor thinks its the absolute cutest thing- and then the bean develops those famous Bread Bun Cheek Guards(tm) and Drift sinks into an awkward embarassed hell when Percy wonders where those came from but decides they are cute all the same.
6. Is much is their bean dependent on them? Fairly dependent at first, but takes to independence very easy. The second the bean sprouts some waddlin’ limbs its off, there they go- Percy chasing after and Drift wheezing himself nearly sick from amusement. Until it’s Drift’s turn to chase.7. Who does the bean take after more physically? The bean takes after papa Drift (Dri-Dri to them) immensely- something Perceptor couldn’t be happier about. He remembers how limiting a microscope altmode could be and could feel and he’s glad his little one will always have the chance of following the open road.8. Personality-wise, who is the bean more like? This gremlin inherited literally all of papa Percy’s (Si-Si) sarcasm. All of it. And they use it with devastating accuracy, as expected of such a sniper as Perceptor. They have very dry humor as well, along with a kind of social wariness.Unfortunately, they also inherited temper from both parents and managed to combine it; meaning that anger is more a thermonuclear war than a simple explosion.9. How does their bean interact with other grown mechs? They don’t. Not at first, anyway. It takes a lot of hiding against Si-Si’s neck or shoulder and hiding in the spaces of Dri-Dri’s thigh armor before they get used to interactions enough to pursue them-However, they love both Minimus and Megatron and see them as grandparents.10. How does their bean interact with other protoforms? Curiously, with a plethora of pings, beeps, pips, whistles, and trills. 11. What sounds does their bean make? Are they quiet, make low booping, high beepings, or are they a wee lil screecher? They are a combo and a half; and a chronic mimic. They have a wide range of sounds they make to convey any number of emotions, as well as a few sounds specially their own- unfortunately one of those sounds is the exact noise of Percy’s pistols being cocked and this has caused trouble a few times....12. How does their bean move about? Scootybooty Reporting For Duty! They scoot and hop at first, until the wheels that will eventually be their heels are out and about then off they go, zooming down the hallway; rollin’ around at the speed of sound, you know the drill.13. Where and how often does their bean like to snooze? They do not sleep unless they know their parents are nearby. However, as they grow older, they learn to doze off just about anywhere- especially to avoid lessons!

Let’s Talk Headcanons: Sparkmates and Spark-binding
So lately I’ve been getting the urge to ramble about headcanons again, and there’s one I want to do, but to get to it I need to talk about this one, first. And “this one” happens to have to do with one of my favorite Transformers topics; unsurprisingly, it’s the spark. I find the idea of the Cybertronian spark to be utterly amazing and beautiful; ever since Beast Wars, a Transformer’s soul has been a tangible part of their body, synonymous with their heart, real and physical and able to be seen and touched. To me, that has endless potential... especially since that same continuity first coined the term “sparkmate” in Airazor’s bio, and confirmed in-series with Tigatron’s dialogue that showing another Cybertronian your spark was an act of intimacy. The romantic potential of the soul being physical has had me swooning for years now, so let’s share some of those thoughts!
.... but first, I’ll give any of you who are looking at my username and raising an eyebrow a moment to finish. Oh, yeah. I’m that dork.
So! The concept of a ‘sparkmate’ was first played upon in Beast Wars, where the whole spark mythos began. Before that, in G1, there were certain allusions to certain pairings, but nothing was overly-concrete and the pairings were seldom, often never, visited again. Which is a shame, because I loved Ironhide and Chromia in G1, but I digress. Later uses of the term were scarce to the point of being virtually non-existant, although Brainstorm apparently dropped the word in MTMTE issue 38 (thank you, TF Wiki!) so, while the term is obscure, it does still get some credit even today. And I, being me, like to ponder on it from time to time.
I’ve read many pieces of fan fiction in which a set of Transformers can “bind” their sparks together to become sparkmates, I am in love with this idea. The spark is not exactly a durable thing, Beast Wars makes this clear... they can be easily damaged, even collapsed, if not properly protected inside a body. Transformers: Animated lends strength to this idea with the fact that even with a new, completely undamaged, factory-fresh body, Yoketron’s spark was already too far gone for Prowl to save him. Canon fact. The spark can be very fragile.
So to show someone your spark, you have to be able to trust them. To let someone handle your spark... that trust has to be absolute. It’s a beautiful gesture; you’re showing someone the concentrated force of your entire existence, and trusting them not to harm it. And then, taking it a step further with the more fan-based concept of spark-binding, you’re holding that pinpoint of existence so close to their own that for a brief time they merge into each other, and from there a bond is formed that crosses space even when partners are separated, that allows them to give their love and support directly to their partner without a word, through pure feeling...
Hold on. I need a moment here. The implications are just too beautiful...
Which, of course, means in my head that they probably aren’t without their caveats. I honestly think there must be some danger in spark-binding, a thought that I’m fairly sure I’m not alone in; namely that the bond between sparks is so intimate, and so powerful, that the death of one partner may well mean the death of the other. This is where I come into the idea, a bit more my own, that most, if not all, sparkmates are Conjunx Endurae... but being Conjunx Endurae does not make you sparkmates. Essentially, in my world of headcanon, becoming Conjunx was the poor mech’s sparkbind.
Oh yeah, I’m going class-ist with this.
Now, I’m going to talk about two major continuities here, IDW and Aligned. IDW will be first, because it is the briefest... Conjunx Endurae are pretty rare, and from what I’ve seen, I believe a lot of this stems back to the Functionist era. Love doesn’t have a function that these people can categorize, and the Functionist council was known for being utilitarian to the extreme, so... well... you get a few lines of dialogue that make it sound like such things were frowned upon, at least on Cybertron, itself. And when they weren’t frowned upon, they were strictly regulated... Swerve makes mention of the fact that Amica Endurae, on Cybertron, are Conjunx Endurae that didn’t work out. As in, a pair could only become Amica if they tried to be Conjunx first. Bittersweet, indeed...
Honestly, if just getting married is that difficult in IDW, I can only imagine that sparkmates are very few and far between. It’s something that is kept quiet, hushed voices beyond locked doors. Sparkmates keep it secret, keep it to themselves. It isn’t always even out of necessity anymore, the habit just won’t die. It makes me a little sad...
Aligned, of course, is another kettle of fish entirely.
It is my firm belief that when you look at the pre-war power structure of Aligned, true love was treated as a luxury of the rich. The lower classes would have been discouraged from forming bonds, largely because of the inherent danger of losing two workers if one is killed in an accident. Sure, you can just replace them, but training newbies takes time and enough of them get crushed by mining cave-ins or fall off of towers under construction anyway... it’s just too inconvenient to let them bind. So you either make it sound like some terrifying thing, or you just don’t tell them it’s possible at all. Many of the slave castes went their whole lives without knowing or understanding that the ability to never feel alone existed at all. The highest castes, however, the elites of the elite, could love and bind as they chose... not that the decision was ever made lightly, but still, they could make it freely. Sparkbinding was a luxury, a risk that only those who lived the most ‘safely’ could afford to take. At least, until the war broke out... at which point just about everyone was thinking that a bound spark might be a little bit dangerous right now. This did lead, however, to many couples pledging to bond with each other once the war was over. A beautiful dream, indeed.
So that’s a bit about the views on sparkbinding, as I imagine it, in two major continuities. Now for some of the generic headcanons I entertain about sparkbinding...
Sparkbinding is not limited to couples. Trines can become sparkmates just as easily, and groups of four or more are possible, although I can’t imagine who would do that, myself. But if a combiner team or some such wanted to, hey, a combiner team or some such could.
Some things are harder for a sparkbound set to share than others... and some things are harder to hide. For example... and this is a fun one... it’s virtually impossible to cheat when you’re sparkbound because your partner or partners will feel you interfacing with someone else. Some trine sets, however, use this to their advantage... if one partner tries to stay at work too late or hit the bar too long on the way home, the other two can... encourage them, so to speak... to come back home more quickly. And some sparkbound pairs like to partner-swap or send one member out to find a bit of fun because... well, because some people are just into that. Consider it long-distance foreplay. Hey, I’m not going to judge!
Not everyone can sparkbind, but this is usually the result of deliberate medical procedure, not any sort of defect a Cybertronian would be naturally born with. Crediting @chief-justice-tyrese with this one, but very often the inability to bond is part of the punishment an Empurata victim endures... it further separates them from the rest of society by preventing them from ever truly sharing themselves with another. Because you know, I needed yet another reason to feel horrible for Whirl and want to give him all the cuddles. Yep. I didn’t need my spark today, either.
High-ranking political figureheads were often discouraged from sparkbinding because of the risk of someone trying to assassinate them by killing the bondmate. Primes were never expected to bind. Many council members kept secret spouses, though, because who was allowed to tell them no?
Bonding does not give a pair any sort of advanced telepathy or anything, but many who have been bound for a long time find that they don’t need it anyway... they learn to read their partners perfectly well through the flux of emotions fed through the spark link, without ever a word passed. This can easily lead outsiders to assume that they do have some sort of telepathy going on...
And, finally, the reason I needed to do this before writing about a different headcanon entirely...
Sparkbinding is the only way to get sparklings. Which is why they’re called sparklings in the first place. That’s right, folks! Tune in next time for Sparkpulse rambling about where she thinks babies come from!
Goodnight, everybody!

Hi! I looked on your Headcanons for how Sparklings are formed. Although I agree with the overall assessment there is obvious human inclusions. Like the classical music part. About carrier's activities influencing future shared interest. Now this argument does not seem consistent with what we know about non-hotspot created sparks in the past. That coming from the same source doesn't dictate likeness in character. So exactly how is it that carriers and sires influence their offspring?
Hiya! First of all, thanks for taking the time to read my headcanons. To address the first specific part you brought up, I think that if you reread it you’ll notice I was actually pointing out a difference between humans and Cybertronians… humans have no actual evidence that listening to music does anything for a fetus, but with Cybertronian sparks it seems to have positive affects on growth… be it from something to do with wavelengths or simply the parent’s positive moods. This is not an “inclusion,” it’s a comparison of differences. Bit of a different thing there unless I’ve misread you somehow. Either way, it’s something I’ve pondered over because I like considering how different outside factors could influence a growing spark, because at this point robobabby is pure energy. Things like sound, which travels on wave lengths, could potentially affect that and I like to think about it.
As for how, exactly, it is that carriers and sires influence their offspring, it’s all based on the fact that in my personal headcanon, a new spark is formed by literally sharing energy from their souls to make it. Like, you’re taking a part of your very essence, the core of your existence, and combining it with someone else’s core essence to make a new life. And to me, that means things can get passed down. You’re pouring who and what you are into a new life. And when a bud is not actively being fed by a sire, it’s sustaining off of the carrier’s energy. So to me it made sense that if a carrier is doing something that gives them strong positive feelings, something they really love and enjoy, then the spark they’re carrying will probably pick up on that sense of warm, happy goodness and might just feel drawn to the things that cause it later in life. Because, you know, soul sharing literally makes baby. In this headcanon, anyway.
I can’t really think of how to clarify it from there because I have no idea what you mean by “what we know about non-hotspot created sparks in the past”. I assume you’re talking about parts of IDW-specific (since only IDW has hotspots) canon that I haven’t read yet, which means that they would not be reflected in my headcanons. Because that’s what these posts are, my personal headcanons, not an “argument” for or against anything. They’re when I take the canon and analyze it, and see that there are a ton of holes in it or unused potential or whatnot, and I build off of it in my own mind and sometimes I like to share that building. I do cite a lot of canon, but that’s so people know where I’m coming from and how I arrived at my ideas, and because sharing canon is just as much fun as sharing headcanon. With that in mind, though, I am curious about what you might have read that I haven’t seen yet. Can I ask you where you got your information on non-hotspot sparks? Is there a specific comic or issue I should go looking for? The spark is pretty fascinating to me, and I always love reading more about it, in any and all continuities!

Sometimes I think about the fact that Shockwave was physically capable of wrecking the Wreckers and I wonder what else he can do. It’s my personal theory that “conservation of energy” actually plays into this scene... typically he is very slow-moving, but here we saw his speed and agility both massively ramp up. I think he deliberately expends the least energy possible in day-to-day tasks just so he can kick in that extra bit of effort when something like, say, his creation being bridged to the arctic happens.

I had way too much fun painting sparks in my first post about sparkling headcanons so here’s a budded spark I drew. What’s bugging the frag out of me is that I can’t remember which continuity I’ve seen a similar design in. Somebody help me out, what did I draw?

Have I ever mentioned my fanatical love for the Forge of Solus Prime? Honestly, I don’t even think of these shots as featuring Ultra Magnus, awesome though he can be. I just sit and look at it sometimes and think “Primus, that’s a beautiful hammer.” I’ve adored the Forge of Solus Prime ever since it’s first appearance. It’s definitely my favorite Artifact of the Primes. And in these shots, what I can’t help but think of looking at it is just how big the Thirteen were. I mean, look at that hammer, right? The head of it is practically as long as Ultra Magnus’s entire arm, minus the massive shoulder pommel... things. But when you look at it in the hands of it’s original owner...

There’s Solus Prime leading the charge against Unicron with her fellow Primes. I’ve always loved that, by the way, that the one swinging a hammer charged first. She just wants to smash that into Unicron’s face so badly. But I digress. If you look at the size of the Forge, glowing brightly, the head is only about as long as one of Solus Prime’s upper arms, from shoulder to elbow. It’s a bit more than half the length of her arm, not even close to the whole length like it is in Magnus’s hands. Which I think gives a pretty neat idea of the actual scale of the Thirteen Primes. Simply put, they be huge. Especially Prima, right there at the front, when you consider that the sword he’s wielding one-handed that doesn’t even look that long in his hands is the Star Saber... I mean, come on, here’s Optimus using that one both one- and two- handed...
That thing is huge. Optimus needs both hands to get a really, really good swing with it. But I like using the Forge as my reference better, because totally biased towards hammer.
I cried a little when they broke the Forge...

Sometimes I think about the fact that Minimus Ambus’s moustache comes off. I dunno. I’m sick right now and re-reading Silent Light for the millionth time seemed like a great way to cheer myself up. But seriously. The moustache comes off. How is it held on? Magnets, maybe? But whenever I think of magnetic moustaches, I think... well...

Yeah. I think of that scrap. But I also wonder why he has it at all, because this makes it seem like an accessory, right? The fact that it’s so easily detachable? It’s not fully part of his face, it’s something he puts on. And fashion doesn’t seem like a very Minimus Ambus/Ultra Magnus-like concern. All I can think of is the fact that as small as he is, it sort of gives him a look of authority, or at least semi-seriousness. Because inside the Magnus armor he’s huge, people have to respect that. But outside of it? Well, maybe he feels like he needs a little help. I’m not entirely sure, honestly... I haven’t read nearly enough IDW, I don’t think, to come up with a full reasoning on my own. But Primus, I wonder sometimes...

Another Whirl Parenting Headcanon
Okay, I know I posted one of these already, but there’s another I want to get out there. So we've determined so far that Silent Light gave me undying feels, some of my friends made it worse, and now I like to imagine what could have happened if Sparky had been a real baby and Whirl had gotten to keep her. Like I did here. So! One of the ideas I touched on in the last post is that Whirl probably knows that very few people have any faith in him at all to raise a sparkling and he has to be at least a little bit careful about what he teaches her. But I can easily picture one simple thing slipping his mind at first... specifically, language. Specifically, what not to say. Because she can’t talk at first, so there’s nothing to remind Whirl to stop talking like Whirl... and, in fact, there’s nothing to remind anyone else on the Lost Light to... well... stop talking like anyone on the Lost Light...
Until, of course, Sparky looks up at somebody and tells them, in her little lisping way, to sod off or get fragged.
At this point things get rather tense around the little one. Nobody is quite sure what else, if anything, she has heard. Nobody particularly wants to take much blame, either. Crew members could swear they've never cursed in front of the youngling, but who’s to say what anyone else has said in front of impressionable audials? And besides, isn't it her caretaker’s job to be sure that no matter what she hears, she knows better than to repeat it?
Whirl feels a lot of pressure to fix this and be sure the sparkling stops swearing, so he does the most basic thing he can think of; he makes a list of all the "bad words” and swears he doesn't want to hear Sparky saying, and he sits and reads it to her, and he helps her memorize it, and he teaches her to read it. And once she can read it, she can carry it with her always and remember that even if she hears these words or phrases, she does not want to repeat them. If someone makes her angry she can say whatever she wants about it, as long as it isn’t on the list. Because the list is for things only big bots are allowed to say. He’s forced to reword “big bots” to “adult bots,” however, when Swerve winds up being asked in front of many other, “’Scuse me! Are you big enough to say that?” It’s laughed about for quite a long time after that.
Another time she notices that Cyclonus looks particularly upset and asks him if he needs to borrow her list to go yell at someone, because by this point she understands that most of the stuff on the list is said by angry people. Cyclonus accepts a peek at the data pad, not because he needs any help swearing if he so chooses, but because he’s curious about what’s on it. He is appalled... but also somewhat impressed that the youngling sticks to not saying whatever is on here. He adds a few words to it, letting her know that in the region he comes from, these are terrible things that you don’t say to anyone, even when you’re an adult.
Two weeks later she hears one of these terms from another ‘bot on board and immediately starts to admonish them that they just said something very, very bad and they need to say they’re sorry right now because Cyclonus said don’t say that word, it’s very terrible, and that’s the rule!
Ultra Magnus has to pretend he’s not a tiny bit proud at that, actually. He also adds several terms to the list himself, half of which Sparky can’t pronounce yet anyway... but better safe than sorry. Between him and Cyclonus making additions, others start to get curious and add their own input as well. The word “functionism” has to be removed from the list four times, in at least two different handwritings; she can’t ask about history if she thinks words like that are taboo. But for the most part it becomes a rather extensive list of swears and innuendos, and a few fully-grown mechs even make copies of it just in case they need a creative curse or two. They just have to remember not to say them in front of Sparky.
Whirl is honestly just happy that the list is working, because he wasn’t sure what he was going to do if it didn’t. He promises Sparky that someday, when she’s fully grown, he’ll teach her the definitions of each and every one of these things so that she can decide which ones she wants to use. Someday, when she is an adult... but not a microsecond before!

Have any cool Cybertronian headcanons? Of course you do! Share them here! It can be about a character, Cybertron itself, Cybertronian biology, etc.! Whatever floats your boat!
Oh, Primus, where do I even start? How do I give you guys just the tip of the iceberg residing in my head? I have dozens of these things, I really do. Okay, let’s pick a simple one: Alpha Trion. One of only three of the Thirteen to not have “Prime” affixed to his name, I think that originally, he actually did. I have a headcanon that Alpha Trion, at some point, changed his name to allow himself some anonymity on Cybertron. Because most of the other Thirteen Primes, everyone knows their names... except for the Thirteenth, of course, whose name was written out of history with the Quill and the Covenant. It’s actually not possible for the general populace to remember his name because the other members of the Thirteen, specifically Alpha Trion, deliberately protected him at his own request.
But everyone else in the set? Even Megatronus, who discarded his name when he left Cybertron, “forevermore” to be known as the Fallen? He didn’t discard it all that well, Megatron still borrowed it. People still know it. The legends lived on. Solus Prime’s name is commonly tossed around, everyone knows her, too. “Sweet Solus Prime!” says Fixit, often. Okay, so that’s RiD15, but it’s still the same continuity. So we definitely know that at least some of the other names, if not all of them, have survived. The Thirteen are one of the most important parts of the lore of Cybertron, right up there with Primus and Unicron themselves. So for nobody, not even Orion Pax, to look at Alpha Trion and go “Hey, don’t you have the same name as one of the Thirteen?” In the book Exodus, a young Orion Pax wonders... even suspects... but never, ever gives thought to the name. Yeah. I think he changed it back there somewhere. After all, there’s (very vague) evidence that in some continuities, Alchemist Prime did the same thing. There are hints that in some storylines, Alchemist walks Cybertron long after the war has ended under this other name. And nobody suspects a thing. I think Alpha Trion did that, too.
In my head I like to call him “Trios Prime” and he can deal with it until my idea is either shot down or made canon with a better name.

Windblade or Optimus Prime pls :D
Lets do both! :D
First impression:
Optimus: He's the dad! And funny because some of him lines are so hilarious ( esp the booby trap one XD). He's silly and likes to have fun despite being the leader. G1 Optimus is my absolute fav <3
Windblade: Ohohoh, my first impression was Cybervers and despite anyone opinions, I absolutely loved her! She's full of sass and such amazing friend. Telepathy makes things even more interesting, and I wish this would be explored MORE outside the Cityspeaker thing. And her design is gorgeous too!
This is why she's a psychiatrist in Sparkpulse :D
Impression now:
Optimus: I still cling to G1 version of him. TFA version was also curious, but others. I don't like when Optimus is serious all the time, and despise that in laterst version he's a cop?? (and the entire motivation and how both factions are shown, esp in comics, is just...uhhh a mess!)
No, I prefer librarian dork Optimus, and tbh this is another idea that has so much potential! Something I wanna explore in my cont.
Windblade: Same, I'm sticking to Cyberverse version with more additions ( like she's also a gremlin in my AU, Bumblebee is just enables her shbhs). Idk what to think about other version as I don't know much about them. Tho I would say, the IDW2 Windblade is so weird to me...bc apparently she's a cop too (whut??) and she seem dismissive towards Bumblebee even tho they are friends? Not for me.
Favorite moment:
Optimus: Every silly moment with him is a gem. I can't get enough of the idea of faction leader who occasionally will go "Oh look, a boobie trap that actually catches boobies" and "I will use my delicate lockpicking technique" and just blasts the fucking door XD
Windblade: Oh this is too many I cant choose ahaha! Every single interaction with Bumblebee is priceless and interesting how she was growing more relaxed around him and had fun! Being a Cityspeaker is sure a lot of pressure, and seeing her being herself when she makes a friend is precious.)
Idea for a story:
Optimus: In my cont I wanna explore the idea of Optimus being librarian, being kind and caring, but at the same he's not naive and hard to manipulate! He's a person who KNOWS history and aware and when he see it's repeating itself. Optimus is the rebel here, and knows how to deal with rich.
Windblade: I will dive deep into her telepathy and expand this idea. While Cityspeaker lore is interesting, imagine the possibilities when she can enter one's mind who, for example, suffered from mnemosurgery and try to help her patients to regain lost memories. Or at least some traces.
Windblade is a memory detective, who find pieces of information in her patient mind and put them together. Ans ofc, as psychiatrist she can use her abilities in therapy ( dont worry, anything done with consent!). So many possibilities!
Unpopular opinion:
Optimus: I don't have any.
Windblade: Cyberverse Windy is not terrible character and ppl's hate towards her is weird. I won't be surprised it's because she's friends with Bumblebee and many ppl hate him...so yeah...
Favorite relationship:
Optimus: It's interesting to see his dynamic with Megatron, since in many version they used to be friends, and then thing went to shit. In my cont there is a lot of drama between two because each believes the other sided with Functionists....but there only one belief is true.
Windblade: With Bumblebee 100%! Their friendship in Cyberverse is so, so good! My aroace ass was so damn happy seeing a such good platonic relationship that is deep. This dynamic gave me such strong Ghibli vibes bc in those movies love was always portrait as something mundane, something that always exist by your side, that you don't gave to go on the huge quest to find and prove it!
And so same with Windblade and Bumblebee! They just feel good with each, they don't need to throw vows and sacrifices for each other to prove how much they love. It's little things, like hugs, playing Cube with each other, drinking at Maccadam's, Windblade giggling every time Bumblebee does something silly and more.
Love it's just there, and gooooooosh I want MORE!
Favorite headcanon:
Optimus: He's a memelord! Mememus Prime! No one shall escape him. Prowl is crying in the corner.
Windblade: She's absolute gremlin! She's a gremlin in disguise who will cover Bee's and Sari's asses while they commit mischief. Nobody suspect anything bc cmon, she's a psychiatrist and super powerful thelepath and Cityspeaker. She's must be a very serious mech, right? WRONG!
