The goal of theology should be doxology, or worship. Jesus told the woman at the well that God is seeking those who worship Him “in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24). ~ Steven J. Cole

Note
shuffle your favorite playlist and post the first five songs that come up. then copy/paste this ask to your favorite mutuals <3
Me: Why don’t people send me asks
Also me: Takes weeks to respond cause I can’t answer a question normally
Okay here’s the thing, I don’t really listen to playlists and the only one I do is a shuffle playlist I have(tho I’m pretty proud of it). What I normally do is pick a song and go to radio, or go to my likes and press one of the genere thingys
Tumblr media
However I think I’ll do 2 things, show off my shuffle playlist(since I actually do use it a lot), and then shuffle my liked songs NOT w/out any categories for full chaos. Actually I also have a shuffle playlist I did for Spanish music, but that one’s more recent and hasn’t gotten that much use so I won’t do the shuffle thingy.
Anyway this my oldies shuffle playlist:
Tumblr media
It’s over a day’s worth of music, cause it’s meant to be shuffled(full disclosure started adding a shit ton of songs before the shuffle because I wanted to make sure it was accurate to my taste and there was a lot of music I added to my likes before making the playlist so they were missing(big chunks of abba,Fleetwood mac, queens, EWF, ELO, etc.) While the playlist is inspired by dad, and so is my taste in oldies music(actually a mix of him and my older sis), there’s stuff on there that I like that he doesn’t( stuff like Simon and Garfunkle and Elton John). It’s mostly 70s, but I’d say it’s 60s-80s. Also it’s English music, so no city pop or older hispanic music like Jeanette(most of my older spanish music is 90s anyway).
Anway these were the first 5 songs
1. At The Rainbows End- The Osmonds
2. Unercover Angel- Alan O’Day
3. Lady in Red- Chris Burgh
4. That’s All- Genesis
5. Wouldn’t it be Nice- Beach Boys
Also screenshotted 5 more and I think these are more indicative of my tastes in oldies(it’s missing a bit of my classic rock but it’s not like that’s what I listen to the most)
6. Roxanne- The Police
7. Oh Daddy- Fleetwood Mac
8. I’m Gonna Be(500 miles)- The Proclaimers (ngl got jumpscared with this one)
9. Wild Word- Ysuf/Cat Stevens
10. Fernando- Abba
Fun fact: Most of Rumors is on the playlist and the whole Xanadu Soundtrack is on there! I’d say may fav artists from the 70s would be ELO and ABBA, tho EWF was my fav band as a kid so that’s still nostalgic to me. Also Doobie Brothers are pretty good! Oh and Hall and Oats! On the more rock rock side of things, I’d say Aerosmith is the one know the most. Or Kansas, I think I like them more idk. I mostly listen to soft rock.
OKAY TIME FOR CHAOS SHUFFLE TIME
1. Sex w/ a Ghost—Teddy Hyde(I think this is more of my sister song?, tho it’s not bad song)
2. Esto les Digo— Kiney Lange, performed by Messiah College Concert Choir (yes this is a choir song)
3. Rata De Dos Patas—Paquita La Del Barrio
4. マイ・ボーイ(My Boy)- Lisa Ono (The title is Japanese but the song is in English)
5. Shun-ran— John (THIS IS IN JAPANESE, specifically vocaloid)
Bonus 6 incase 1 wasn’t me
6. L-O-V-E—Nat King Cole
Honestly, this is actually a good mix of the music I listen to, indie/soft, spanish, and j-pop, and oldies it’s just missing musical theater(also I listen to more early 2000s latino music). Also I don’t really listen to choir/classical music all the time but I do LOVE singing it so sometimes I will try to find new choir songs. Tbh, most playlist on Spotify lowkey suck and have very same-y repertoire, the best playlists I’ve found are Choir Classic-Spotify(a bit same-y but it is the classics™), Choir music that makes me crumb(great variety! I recommend this one the most), and I think Choir songs me that give me chills is also pretty good and it has more musical theater on it (THOUGH IT’S MISSING NORTE DAME).
Okay, I’m done yapping

You can’t go wrong with a classic. For the shortened 21st season of NCIS that premieres February 12, “All we wanted to do was get back to doing what we do best, which is tell really great stories,” says David J. North, a longtime NCIS writer who has joined Steven D. Binder as co-showrunner. With only 10 episodes, due to the actors’ and writers’ strikes, each hour is a stand-alone story with smaller character arcs.
The opener picks up with the vengeful Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama), last seen in the cliffhanger finale promising to pull the trigger on a man from his childhood who’d devastated his family.
“Torres does something to the mystery man, Maurice Riva [Al Sapienza, who played Mikey Palmice on The Sopranos], that threatens to end his career as an NCIS agent,” North reveals. “The team rallies around Torres, but it may be too late to save his badge—and his freedom. The evidence is so overwhelming against Nick that the team is left to wonder [how well they know him].”

Despite that foundation-rocking incident, the agents pull together in the second episode (February 19) to tackle a case that their late colleague, Dr. Ducky Mallard, was working on in secret to clear someone’s name. This is the first season without the beloved medical examiner turned NCIS historian, played for 20 years by David McCallum, who died in September 2023.
“The case was important to Dr. Mallard. In [investigating it], they’re going to relive their memories of a coworker and a man who meant so very much to them,” North says. These recollections make the grieving crew ask, “What would Ducky do?” and the answers lead to a solution. The episode was co-written by Brian Dietzen, who plays Dr. Jimmy Palmer, Ducky’s longtime assistant and now chief medical examiner himself. “Brian shed tears writing it; the cast and crew shed tears shooting it,” North says.
Emotions also run high for Jimmy in a later episode when his girlfriend Jessica Knight’s (Katrina Law) critical but loving dad, an NCIS agent in the Far East Field Office, comes to visit.
“Like most dads and daughters, Knight and her father share a loving but complicated relationship. His sudden appearance will dredge up some unresolved arguments. He’s the reason she wanted to be an agent, but she feels like she can’t get out of her dad’s shadow,” North says. “It will force Knight to confront delicate questions about her life choices, including how Jimmy fits into her future.” Jimmy will also be disappointed in the greeting he receives from Papa Knight, whom he is meeting for the first time. It’s going to be a hurdle for the bullpen couple. Notes North, “As much as we love [Knight and Palmer] together, relationships are hard.”
Tumblr media
Luckily, NCIS always throws some quirky humor into the mix. In the third episode of the season (February 26), team leader Alden Parker (Gary Cole) institutes a “Walk a Mile in Someone’s Shoes Day” at work. “Where Mark [Harmon as Gibbs] was the father figure, Gary is more the crazy uncle,” says North.
To better understand the inner workings of NCIS, the agents switch places with colleagues we don’t usually see on the show, like folks in maintenance and accounting. The results are initially funny, but the agents learn some new lifesaving skills. Reveals North, “Kasie [Diona Reasonover] is sitting in with dispatch when she gets a call that’s going to send the team on a manhunt.” In another episode, Parker, who has posed as a lawyer and a psychiatrist in past cases, will face his toughest acting job yet. “He’s going to be forced to go in undercover as a surgeon, kind of like Leo DiCaprio in Catch Me if You Can,” North spills.
This season also brings the 1,000th episode of the franchise on April 15. (The landmark number refers to all the NCISes combined.) “It’s going to be huge to try and embrace the entire NCIS universe,” North suggests. “One of our most beloved characters will be in grave danger.” We’ll be right there with the team we’ve missed so much as they fight to save someone who feels like our own family.

“Teach” refers to communicating doctrine or biblical precepts; “admonish” means to give correction or warning. “Wisdom” refers to skill in applying God’s truth in specific situations. So whether it’s from the pulpit, in a home fellowship, in a small group Bible study, or in a private conversation, whether through speaking or through singing, the word of Christ must be at home in us so that we are wisely applying it, both personally and with others. ~ Steven J. 'Would it be an exaggeration to claim that it’s Cillian Murphy’s world and the rest of us are merely existing within it? Opinions on the matter would, of course, differ. What can be affirmed, though, is that the Oppenheimer star’s unquestionable popularity is nothing short of amazing. With his enigmatic depiction of J. Robert Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan’s magnum opus, movie-going audiences have been charmed. People are starting to crave more.
Media connoisseurs acquainted with Murphy’s previous works would know that this isn’t the first instance of the actor’s overwhelming talent being felt in an endeavor. The rise of the Irish actor to worldwide stardom was amplified by his participation in the popular crime-drama series Peaky Blinders. With the famed talent playing a major role in the British TV show, Murphy’s co-star felt overshadowed by his prodigious presence in the narrative.
Why Peaky Blinders Star Joe Cole Left The Show
In a 2020 interview with Metro.co.uk, Joe Cole, who portrayed the role of John Shelby in the Cillian Murphy-led premise, revealed why he decided to depart from the notable endeavor...
...His exit from the Steven Knight-created series, which also happens to be a crime drama centered around the Peaky Blinders street gang, was intended to allow the actor to explore different stories and characters.
Following was his statement:
“I’ve spent the last few years turning down gang-related shows because when a show does well you get offered quite a lot of them. I actually chose to leave Peaky Blinders because I wanted to explore new avenues and new characters and new stories.”
...the actor thought there was one significant distinction between the two gang-drama series. With Gangs of London and its ensemble cast, Cole wouldn’t have to feel eclipsed by a central character or actor in the storyline—a phenomenon that Cillian Murphy’s Peaky Blinders seemed to have contributed to.
Joe Cole Felt Overshadowed By Cillian Murphy In Peaky Blinders
Murphy’s presence in Peaky Blinders is astounding. Imagining a world where the Irish actor isn’t embodying the role of Thomas Shelby becomes near impossible. The prominence of the character within the show would understandably shine the light on him more than it would on his other co-stars.
The reason behind Joe Cole’s exit from the show, after his character’s brutal demise in season 4, episode 1, was owing to the actor’s desire of wanting to branch out and do more with a role—which he couldn’t with what he deems “Cillian’s show.”
"With Peaky Blinders I never really got out of the gates in that role. It’s Cillian’s show really. This show [Gangs of London] is more ensemble, it follows characters on a deep level. So for me, it’s really an opportunity to show what I can do and for the rest of the cast, what they can do.”...
While it’s undeniable that Murphy holds a central position as the main lead, the Steven Knight-created show’s success is owed to not just the Oppenheimer star but also the many others connected to the premise. Hence, claiming that the show solely revolves around Thomas Shelby would be a disservice to the other talented individuals associated with the project.
Nonetheless, we can empathize with Joe Cole’s perspective. Cillian Murphy’s on-screen presence has always demanded the undivided attention of viewers. His compelling character portrayals remain one of the glorious factors behind the success of his projects. It’d be intriguing to see what’s next for the skilled Irish actor.'
