Ok. So I usually don't go on TikTok but there's too many Next to Normal Proshot clips there that I could not stay away and I somehow stumbled onto one that had a comment about wanting a UK Cast recording. Guess who commented and what they replied. M'fing Ghostlight Records with the goddamn 👀 emoji.

cryptic spoiler for what im writing rn
#ive kind been sleeping on venus in overdrive tbh it's really got some bangers#i wish he'd gone a little less pop with it. if he did live versions/rerecorded versions w more of an... edgy? feel#like he did w 80's songs on the greatest hits... alive live album i think it would rise to one of my all time favorites#i consider every alive version of songs better than the studio versionshis guitar and vocals are better. especially dont talk to strangers#like what's victoria's secret? and i'll miss that someday are rlly good but just feel like something's missing and more of an alive feel#would fix them#title track is fine as is tbh it's got enough going on doesnt feel empty at all#time stand still is the huge exception tho it would be actively worse w the alive treatment. it's kinda too light and empty but in a way#that's appropriate and works perfectly#but sadly i don't think he'll overhaul any of these he doesn't seem very fond of venus in overdrive?#none of it makes it into his set lists and it's underrepresented in his recent big hits compilation album#he def loves rocket science so many of those on big hits. im hoping he'll do some kinda rerecording and that's why it's been taken off#spotify... shock/denial/anger/acceptance wasn't on spotify for a hot minute until he released a 20th anniversary deluxe version this year#i also think a stripped down/acoustic version of rocket science would work really well#sorry i smoked weed and got really autistic abt rick springfield apparently

Loads Of Shakespearean Puns
Porsha: Daddy, this is hard! Help me study this King Lear stuff!
Buster: Knock it off! You’re making ‘Much Ado About Nothing’!
{Tumblr laugh track}
Porsha: Daddy! I hear that scary laughter again!
Artica: You’ve been the subject of Tumblr stuff for, what, two years now? I would think you’d be used to it by now! Mr. Moon, will you please prepare a chocolate peanut butter meal replacement shake for me? Be sure to prepare it just as…
Buster: I know! ‘As You Like It’!
{Tumblr laugh track}
Porsha: There it is again! DADDYYYYYYY!
{Tumblr laugh track laughs harder}

feeling nostalgic and watching utube reactors discover classic songs and then feeling both old and incredulous
#1980s music#like someone watching blondie's rapture and then stopping to go 'oh it reminds me of something it's so familiar'#different people (all younger) do this all the time and it can be infuriating#like it's an older song - did it ever occur to you that maybe what you're thinking of ... took inspiration from THIS song????#although in that case it was rather grandmaster flash and the nyc rap scene bc of course that's what the song was referencing#it's the boss baby meme but in music form#and i know i'm guikty of it too but at least in the correct direction - looking back to things that came before#not being aghast that a beat they've heard s thousand times was sampled from an old song that copied an older song lol#i will say that it is SO weird to me that peopke who say they are into hiphop never seem to reference the rap from my youth#like the late 70s and 80s sound that everything after is built on#and it's not like i know a lot about it beyond watching yo mtv raps at night lol#but i had to watch kids struggle to recognize the warren g regulate sample from michael mcdonald#like SO much of the early sampling era was just tons of samples of old records - anything they didn't have to pay for#and then listening to things and going oh this sounds like the weeknd - bro the weekend sounds like 80s songs#he sings and structures the songs in similar ways to classic tracks rather than the current trend (sometimes)#gah i'm just ranting here rather than in some poor utubers comments#i wish i had some fellow old folks to jabber with#but even when i was in high school i didn't have any friends that liked the same kind of music as i did#bts getting me more interested in music and watching videos has really been a double-edged sword sigh#everything with a live studio band with bass in it: 'oh this sounds like disco'#or worse something literally built off a disco sample and it's like they've never heard a disco song other than ymca in their life

The first-ever collection of his international EPs from the grace album!
The Grace EPs C5K 87077
Mystical. Riveting. Enthralling. These words and more have described Jeff Buckley's music.
in 1994, Jeff released his first full-length album, Grace. The album was a beautiful and crystalline document of an artist with talent far beyond even some veteran rockers. The album would receive enormous critical praise as well as spawning commercial and college favorites "The Last Goodbye," "Grace," and a cover of Leonard's Cohen's Hallelujah."
Following the release of Grace, Jeff and his band toured the world and gained wider success in various countries including England, France, Belgium, Japan, and Australia. Also, during this time each country released various EPs which included tracks from the Grace album.
Unfortunately, this would be the only full-length studio album which Jeff would complete. The world suffered a tragic loss on May 29, 1997, when Jeff drowned while swimming in the Wolf River Marina as he was taking time off from preparing the record his follow-up to Grace, an album he planned to call My Sweetheart The Drunk. Tracks for the unfinished album were posthumously released as Sketches For My Sweetheart The Drunk.
jeff Buckley's music was inspiring and influential to many people. His legacy continues to reach new fans with every listen.
In celebration of Jeff Buckley incredible legacy, Columbia Records is proud to announce the release of the Grace EPs box set. The Grace EPs is a limited edition 5-CD import box set comprising EP releases from around the world during the time of the Grace album and subsequent tours. The Grace EPs include non-album tacks, live versions and remixes totaling 19 tracks and over 2 hours of music from one of the most phenomenal songwriters/performers of his generation. In addition, this fantastic box set includes a ten-page booklet with insightful notes penned by Jeff's mother, Mary, commentary from Jeff's former band members, as well as rare photos.
With many of these songs and EPs out-of-print or previously unavailable to the public, The Grace EPs have become highly collectible and sought-after releases. Now, for the first time, everyone will have an opportunity to own them all in one magnificent collection.
