Yesterday I finally got my passport. What an adventure! If all this COVID-19 madness had not happened, I would have managed to catch it in March and in February 2021 I was going to do a semester abroad studying at the University of Porto. Now, 7 months later, I had to postpone my semester abroad and change my destiny, and I'm still not sure if that will happen. But other than that, for some reason I was so excited about it that I broke my phone screen when I took this photo 😅 #studyabroad #studyabroadlife #studyabroadproblems #passaport #icantbelieveit #finnally https://www.instagram.com/p/CFfDpckD9F8/?igshid=7ybr8e6isplf

Have you ever been on a study abroad program? I did it in the US in college & I can only recommend that shit. Oh, and summer programs too 😇🎉 It can be expensive, but there are scholarships you can apply for. Never give up your dreams people 💫 . . . . . #studyabroad #studyabroadlife #studyabroadbecause #studyabroadprograms #studyabroadadventures #studyabroadfair #studyabroadconsultants #studyabroadconsultant #studyabroad2020 #studyabroadproblems #studyabroadusa #abroad #abroadeducation #abroadstudies (at Asheville, North Carolina) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEogW1ksMHF/?igshid=1vw1fowf5ofo0

Today I had a movie moment
...As my friend Andy and I were trying to make it into the subway before it left the station, the doors shut and I was left standing on the platform while Andy was safe inside. I tried to squeeze in before the doors closed completely but it all happened so fast and all I could think of was being decapitated by subway doors (those things are lethal). As a result, Andy and I were separated and I watched woefully as he rode away.
I wasn't actually all that sad though; as I watched the train leave I couldn't help but smile. I mean really, I would never get to have that experience back home and how lucky am I to even get to ride a subway in the first place? In the end, I caught the next train and we were once again reunited on the other side. Subway, conquered.

Eep!
After a walking tour of Oviedo [pictures to come soon] I attempted to find my way back to mi casa.
Mm, it only took me 3 hours [in a place where you get from one side to the other in about 30min in the right shoes]. In the rain. With the panic kicking in around 2 hours.
BUT, the upside, is that it rained and the weather is overcast [feels like fall almost] and I'm now sitting in my room reading Mockingjay with a steaming cup of black tea and tomorrow am going with my program friend, Ariel, around Oviedo and to the final concert of the festivities. AND, I doubt I will never not be able to find my building again [it's the blue one, it's the blue one, and repeat].
So basically, I think we can mark this one down as a positive.

So this weekend I got kinda sick and had to stay in bed all weekend (thanks to transit shutdowns and Parisian weather I was stuck in the rain twice :P not as romantic as it sounds) and I got to Skype friends back home, and so this weekend has made me realize how much I really miss all my friends back in Minneapolis. I am so excited to be here and still loving it, I just miss the comfort of being home with my friends. *le sigh* oh well, I'll do what I always do to cheer myself up, snuggle up and watch Mean Girls

Why is life oh so full of decisions when i'm the most indecisive person in the world?
How am I supposed to leave campus for a whole entire year? It's not even the problem of "i'm scared to go there" or "i'll get homesick." I'd get people-sick. I'd miss everyone. And the worst part of going away from a whole year is that I may not be able to see some people... ever again.
Then it's the decision of where to go. There's so many intriguing places out there that all have their pros and their cons. Which one is right for me? I want to go to them all.

MURRICA
Today, I am an American. I recieved a package from my parents today that consisted of two things of Halloween Oreo's, a pack of Swedish Fish, and a pack of Sour Patch Kids. Also, I found a store called "The Taste of America..." Bought pumpkin (score), PAM, Poptarts, Goldfish, and Cookie Dough Bites. And on top of that, I think I am going to have chicken nuggets for dinner, and I am staying in and watching Hocus Pocus.
Talk about murrican' pride.
