What is your least favorite ETHICAL morph? Like, one you just Do Not Vibe With?

For example, mine is Super-Conda Hognoses. Like, excuse me! That SNAKED is NAKED! Return their spots This Instant!

I've got two that I've never liked, and I think they're a bit controversial!

I have never liked leucistic ball pythons. Objectively, yes, they're beautiful snakes!! But, similarly to your feelings about supercondas, I'm just always left feeling...is that it? Is this all the snake I'm getting today? Where's the rest of them? A ball python without pattern just looks incomplete to me!

And my other least favorite: granite Burmese pythons. Look what they've done to my boy. Turned him into a jaguar-print rug

Hmnnn I hope I'll be able to complete it, but I'm really having doubts about Rangi in Agna Qel'a... I mean, 60 chapters? Who do I think I am LOL

The initial idea was to write Hei-Ran's and Atuat's backstory as a couple and to explain Atuat's decision to leave the NWT. But I didn't want to write a story that had the romance plot as the main plot, so it became this 60 chapters monstrosity, with three main character arcs, one romance arc, one recovery arc, and one antagonist arc.

The story's now about Rangi's time in the NWT and her troubles navigating Jianzhu's and Hei-Ran's corrupt legacy, the White Lotus interest in Kyoshi, cultural clashes, as well as her sentiments toward Kyoshi.

I have two hognose snakes. Lucifer (Lulu) and Hades, respectfully. Lucifer is an albino, and Hades is allegedly a regular morph, although I am confident he has some conda genes.

Apep is my Kenyan (or Egyptian) sand boa. He's just a worm. Seriously. Radiates worm energy all the time.

Crowley is my mexican black king snake. He's twice the length of my arm and is super friendly. Probably one of the most polite snakes I've ever had experience with next to Lucifer (for a snake, Lulu is very affectionate...don't go near him when it's mating season). Crowley has also been an ambassador animal when I've worked at schools. He's great with kiddos. Has a preference for girl folk (he'll wrap himself up in a little ball or around their arm, boy folk he just stares and lets them pet him).

...I also have lizards and a frog!

I have 3 leopard geckos. Gwee, Vito, and Treeko. Vito is a male and he's an albino (his colors are like pink lemonade). Gwee is a female and she's turning 14 this year (my first reptile btw! she's the sweetest little old lady), and Treeko is one of the two hatchlings that came from Gwee and Vito's clutch of eggs. Her brother Newt belongs to one of my good friends who has a reptile collection.

I have a bearded dragon named Remmy. He's a strong independent lizard and he needs no man, but he's cool with people petting him.

Hammond (Hammy) is my frilled neck lizard (my baby dilophosaurus haha). Named after John Hammond from Jurassic Park. He's super friendly. Poor fella is getting over a respiratory infection because we lost power for a few days, and with it being winter, he got sick. He's on the mend though! (and thank shit spring is around the corner).

Jormungandr (Jormmy) he's my glass lizard (legless). Jormmy was wild caught, and one of my peeps that worked at this pet shop didn't think it was right. Plus he was sitting there in his tank for god knows how long because not a lot of people in my area know how to take care of unique lizards, so bud pulled some strings and I took Jormmy home as a rescue. I've had him for five years. He's still aggressive toward people (can't blame him) but he's gotten better around me.

And then there's Winston, my dumpy tree frog. He's a polite gentleman. Loves chilling on my hand.

I have a lot of kids...😂

Each of them has their own unique persona and I appreciate and love them for that. I can't imagine not having reptiles in some capacity in my life.

As for the snake, I got her from a breeder as a baybee so she was post-egg but not by much. She is a toffee colored conda morph with a reduced pattern, which I'm aware that sounds complicated but google can show you if you ask nicely enough. Her name is Cinnamon :>

That's very cute, I heard they can have a pinkish/purplish belly, right? Does she have that or is her belly just as toffee as her body?

I want a little hognose snake so bad I can feel it in my bones.

I was at the reptile and aquarium store just now getting shromps 🦐 and meandered over to the reptile room. They had six hoggies for sale (for $400 ) two albino, two normal one Axanthic Conda and one that was a super pale pink, not sure what morph exactly, the label was covered but it was different from the two albinos.

I would have traded my right leg just to hold one of them😭

So I definitely don’t think Gabbro (super arctic western hog) will be ready / able to breed this upcoming season like I was originally planning.

I think instead I’m going to attempt 4 pairings. I only want to breed Garnet one more time before retiring her and I definitely want it to be with Gabbro so she will get the year off. Because I didn’t get a toffee male this year (and even if I buy one now it won’t clear QT before the season is over) I’m also not going to breed Pyrite in 21. Since I already have my two holdbacks from her I don’t really feel the need to breed her with my current line up of males since I would only be producing normals and condas / supercondas visually.

So my revised plans areeeee....

-Howlite x Shale (snow x axanthic het albino)

-Howlite x Coquina (snow x granite 66% ph axanthic)

-Citrine x Splendid (albinoconda x albinoconda)

-Citrine x Amethyst (albinoconda x arctic conda 66% ph sable 50% ph albino)

I doubt all of them will be successful pairings (they never ALL work out) but I think it will give me a good mix of morphs and price ranges to have a little something for everyone.

Holdback Plans (obviously very tentative and heavily dependent on the odds I hit and the quality of what hatches out)

- 1x axanthic granite het albino female from Howlite x Coquina (only if she proves out)

Other breeding plans:

Leonis kingsnakes: None. Because Marlin’s hybrid status is nebulous I’m not going to breed leonis kingsnakes until Canyon Clay is rtb, which will be anywhere between 2-3 years ): it’s a bummer but it is what it is.

Corn snakes: Ancho x Cayenne (miami tessera het amel x Okeetee tessera) - partially to test breed cayenne for amel and I also think the babies they’ll produce will be stunninggggg

Leopard Geckos: still working out plans, most likely only 3 pairings.

No new species will be bred in 2021, in 2022 I will likely be adding my childrens pythons to the breeding lineup

So, there is, quite the story behind this dude-- My grandma commissioned me 500 DOLLARS, to draw a character to use in my portfolio if/when i go to art school. it was WAY out of  left field. this is what i came up with, his name is Marckus and i love him way to much, anyway when i started drawing him i got fuckin, carpel tunnel?! so, i couldn't work on him, and then i found, a snake, i really wanted. a lil eastern hognose, albino super conda morph, and i fell, in LOVE. so i said, a big ol FUCK YOU to my wrist, and finished the drawing, got the 500, got the snake and yeah, thats that story. welcome to hell people.

the anaconda (often shortened to conda) morph, it makes the spots larger and less frequent, in hognose snakes is co-dominant so if you breed a regular hognose a conda half of the babies will be condas, and if you breed two condas a fourth of the babies will be super condas!! which means that they have no spots!!

Hognoses absolutely have some awesome morphs!

One of the most popular pattern-changing morphs is called anaconda or conda, and it's pretty awesome. Here's a super conda:
