Some reasons why the DM cast would not like the friends Jaden made during school:

Syrus: In the dub, it's clear that he doesn't have the best relationship with his brother Zane so he projects the perfect brother figure onto Jaden. The minute Jaden doesn't fit the ideal, he abandons Jaden at the toss of a hat. From trading his bed/eating his breakfast shrimp to the Dark World, Syrus was never as loyal as Joey. Only reason he got the Ra Yellow promotion duel was because of his brother and it's hinted that he was given his Obelisk Blue rank as a 'thank you' for helping against the Light of Ruin since he was at the final battle (even though all he did was hold Aster). Didn't truly improve until Season 4 and his deck upgrade came from his brother. Literally rode coattails to where he is at the end of the series.

Chazz: He was a jerk at the start, but mostly due to his brothers putting pressure on him. When Jaden tried to bond with him, he was mostly rebuffed and while he could see Duel Spirits, he never reciprocated Jaden's attempts to bond over it. Despite everything he went through with Jaden, he didn't hesitate to rejoin Obelisk Blue in a heartbeat come Season 4.

Bastion: Season 2 did this man no favors. He lost on purpose to join the Society of Light to get recognition and respect, which he never got anyway. He did give Jaden the wake up call he needed to get out of his Dark World funk to at least beat Yubel/get Jesse back.

Alexis: RIP her development in GX because her archetype didn't do well in the real life sales, because having a Ritual Expert would have been great. When Jaden returned, she tried to act like nothing happened and tried to force Jaden into activities, which only made him angry because he wanted to be left alone. She only moved into the Slifer Red Dorm because Crowler was trying to make her into a pop star with her brother in Season 2 so she can't be blamed too much for leaving.

Atticus: After getting his memories back, all Atticus did was become comic relief and tried to hook his sister up with guys. Never did he duel with his own original deck against the villains (Red Eyes deck is hinted to be the deck he was given as a Shadow Rider, not his original). He's one of the few that can beat Zane since he was part of the Obelisk Elite but never showed it. It's his fault that the Sacred Beasts woke up because he stole the keys for his plan to get Alexis to hook up with Chazz. Literally tried to force his sister into stardom against her will because he's an overly dramatic theater kid.

Zane: Zane is a one trick pony with a pretty powerful beat stick. His entire deck revolves around getting out Cyber End Dragon via Power Bond. Anyone in the pros can shut that down quick and instead of trying to improve he just kept with his old deck and fell into the underground, rejecting any help due to pride. Literally almost rage quit his final duel with Jaden because Jaden was trying to duel around a brick opening hand and had to think instead of having fun on the fly.

Aster: Multiple posts already on this for this blog, was manipulated because of tunnel vision concerning avenging his dad and didn't care who he hurt as long as he got his revenge.

Hassleberry: This boy literally has a dinosaur bone in his leg which gives him dino powers, got his spirit sent to space to save the world, and still will talk smack about Jaden behind his back and call his Duel Spirits 'imaginary friends' despite having met Neos.

Axel: He saw that Jaden's monsters were forced to attack Brron and how it wasn't truly Jaden's fault that his friends were sent to the stars, but still turned his back on the boy and told him that he was on his own. Despite his tough guy act, he ran when the Supreme King challenged him the first time. Redeemed himself by beating the Supreme King in Sesaon 3 and in Season 4 by helping Jaden though!

Jesse: Jesse is a all around sweet guy, he really is! The fact that he considered making himself a martyr to save the school was fulfilling his dream probably doesn't sit right with some of the DM crew because of how Jaden blamed himself for not being strong enough to save his friend.

Exception to this cause would be Jim. He saw that something was going down at the academy and investigated. the minute he saw Jaden as the Supreme King? In the original Japanese he outright asks if Jaden was tricked into being a ruthless warlord. Only reason this man did not return in season 4 was because his Japanese voice actor retired. Chumley is in this camp too because he stayed a solid friend with Jaden after Season 1.

Okay I thought I was the Gx friend groups number 1 hater but I take my cap off and pass it to you. Way to eviscerate all of them.

Here’s the thing. The DM cast are big friendship people. They forgive people for things they probably shouldn’t as long as the offended party says it’s okay. But they are also loyal.

In Duelist kingdom Téa holds a bit of a grudge against Mai until they get to know each other. Joey and Tristian are very protective of their friends. Yugi is warm and welcoming to all but he won’t stand for anyone messing with his friends and loved ones. Atem is protective. He loves his friends dearly and will do anything to keep them from harms way. And Seto is a dragon, he hoards that which is precious to him and protects it viciously.

I don’t think they would tell Jaden they didn’t like his friends. Nor do I think these adults would hold grudges against children (Seto might but he’s Seto Kaiba he held a grudge to the afterlife) but they aren’t fans of all of Jaden’s friends

Syrus

Syrus for all the reasons you stated, they just don’t like him. Syrus tries to force Jaden into a preferred older brother role instead of his best friend and equal. If Jaden fails that glorified image even a little bit Syrus loses all faith in him and interest in their friendship besides whining until Jaden full fills the role again. He’s a fair weather friend. I don’t think he’s a bad character or person but he needs to grow up. But because he is sheltered by both Zane and Jaden (from hiding behind him and Jaden’s hero complex) he doesn’t have to. Hopefully he matures after school.

But from a parents perspective this is not the person you want your kid relying on. He’s the friend who expects you to always be there for him but won’t be there for you in a hard time. Yugi’s good at reading people and from the stories Jaden tells them (which put all of his friends in a much better light) he and the Sam cast are not impressed. Téa and Joey especially don’t like the kid. Mai to. She felt with a lot of fake people in her life time. But how do you say that to a kid like Jaden who is so excited to have friends? Yugi is hopeful that Syrus will mature one day. After all his mom had similar worries when he became friends with Joey. But as time goes forward he’s proven wrong and Joey is a little offended by the comparison.

Chazz

I haven’t seen season 4 so I can’t comment on it. I’m almost done with my rewatch of season 1 and Chazz grows a lot in that season. I can see the DM cast being wary of him in the beginning because Chazz does start off as a bit of a bully. But after the school duel and Chazz starts truly hanging out with the cast I think most of those fears are put to rest. With finding out about his family and he is fairly loyal to Jaden. It’s not Joey levels but he’s not suppose to be (he’s not the designated best friend though he does a better job then Syrus)

I think by the end of season 1 they like him. (They haven’t met any of these kids and only have Jaden and school reports to go off of) the kid did stand up for the whole school against his brothers using a completely different and “weak” deck. He’s impressed them, and he at least tried to help. He took down one shadow rider.

In season 2 they are probably worried about him with the cult running around but I don’t know how much Jaden has told them about said cult. Chazz is also a real winner in that season of I remember. He goes out and beats all the members of the cult and wins the Gx tournament while Jaden deals with the leader. That should be the job of the “best friend” but Syrus and Hasselberry were mostly cheerleaders. It sticks that most of it is off screen but at least he’s helping. The cult can’t gang up on Jaden if Chazz is mowing them down.

Season 3 is a mess for Chazz. He’s sideline like most of the cast and it doesn’t help that he is one of the nay sayers. I know it’s a spell and Jaden is being selfish and rushing ahead. But this is a rescue mission that you chose to go on. I need to rewatch this season because how did Chazz and the others get captured? How did they not fight back? I don’t remember them taking part in one duel in the dark world. Like they were just following, complaining, and dying. It sucks how much the writers sidelined the cast like I love the exchange students, it think they are better characters over all, but the way the og cast is handled is t the best.

In conclusion, I don’t think the DM cast disapproves of him, it’s just a complex relationship between him and Jaden. I have them becoming Chazz’s pseudo family by the end of the au. Him and Jaden started on a ruff foot but they got there eventually.

Bastion

It’s almost funnier to say they forgot Bastion existed. He’s so fun in season 1 even though he’s a simp I love the energy he brings. But he’s the e first of the cast to get hard sidelined. I have to watch season 2 again. I always felt bad for the kid. Arthur and Solomon would have loved this kid. I’m going to play with his story a lot because he just wants to be acknowledged and seen as an equal to his friends and is constantly dismissed. Like he willingly joined the cult. He’s going to get a DM parental figure. One that probably doesn’t want the nerd following them but will grow to love their newly acquired duckling. I need to rewatch season 2 and think through the DM cast.

Alexis

Is that why her development gets thrown in the garbage?? Her archetype didn’t sell well? No she’s the ritual expert. And you’re right that would have been super cool. She’s still not a good friend. She’s alright in season 1 and at least takes down one of the Shadow riders. In season two she has a mini arc as the ice queen and they do a nice job of if I remember correctly. But she’s also sidelined in season 3 and I’ve heard season 4 is not great for her. To focused on her crush on Jaden and his past and her idolized version that she can’t see the Jaden in front of her is in need of help.

I don’t think the DM cast hate her but I think she rubs them the wrong way in season 3 and 4.

Maybe I’ll extend post cannon because I can see Alexis with a mentor and learning how to navigate her own feelings becoming a real power house. Ritual decks are rare and I wish we saw them more. Atem has two ritual monsters he uses in Black Magician of Chaos and Black luster solider. I’m not saying Atem’s her mentor but she just needs a chance to grow and stand on her own. Post cannon is going to be forcing these characters to stand on their own two feet, letting them fail, and watching them build themselves back up again.

The og friend group relies on Haden way too much to solve their problems.

Atticus

Atticus is a disappointment. He’s so fun and a goofball which is very different from his shadowrider persona. And I’m okay with that. It’s not his personality that upsets me. (Joey and Tristan have a can can dance when they beat an enemy and sing “can can we kicked it in the can can” like they would love Atticus and I love that goofball energy)

No where Atticus is a disappointment is that he never wins a duel on screen. He’s built up as this amazing duelist. He wins against the tomb keepers duel spirits to get his half of the shadow medallion. He’s part of the obelisk elite like Zane (I always wondered why their uniforms are different and now I know) yet he never wins an on screen duel.

I’m okay with him being a jokester and having fun with his kid sister and her friends, he’s behind his class by two years so he’s got to make new friends and Alexis and her crew welcome him. But I wish we say more of that.

Serenity join the DM cast in Battle City works this really well. She’s new to the group but already has connections because she’s Joey’s sister. She doesn’t know the rules and learns over time. Shes not the strongest but she’s helpful (saving Joey from the anchor) she doesn’t take center stage but we care about her.

But the difference between making her a side character/cheerleader and Atticus is Atticus is hyped up to be a good duelist. If they just showed him winning a duel or even talked about how he was win off screen I wouldn’t be as mad but the boys is a joke. He’s older than the rest of the cast and while he can be a goofy older brother he should also be a mentor or at least protective of the group. What was he even doing during the Gx tournament/Alexis’s cult time. I honestly forget. His kid sister spent a season looking for him and fighting to save him and the writers could let him return the favor. No Jaden has to save her.

(Like let him attempt. Maybe he can’t win in his own and Jaden has to take over or switch it and have Jaden start the duel but he’s not getting through and then Atticus steps in. It would be like Arem taking over for Kaiba bs Noah, where he takes Kaiba’s life points and deck and still pulls out a win. Do you know how good that would have made Atticus look if he took over Jaden’s duel using his deck and was able to beat Alexis. He’s a great duelist and to win using someone else deck is always seen as an impressive feat.)

I’m going to play with him to. I think most of the DM cast would love him. The Gx writers really just dropped the ball on their side characters.

Zane

Way to kick Zane when he’s down. Honestly sounds like something Kaiba would yell at him.

To be fair, if Zane is a one trick pony it’s also a fault with the school. They held him up as the best of the best and never forced him to change or adapt. The pro league is far more aggressive and he should have been prepared for that. If none of the students could beat him that’s one thing but a teacher should have pointed this flaw out. Maybe they did and he was to prideful or thought they were wrong because no one had ever stopped him before.

In know the Cyber end deck is a good deck. It still sees play today and has a lot of legacy support. So I don’t think it’s that his deck is bad. I think he just needs to change up his strategy.

But in topic. Ever already discussed the DM cast feelings towards him. He’s talented and good to Jaden in season 1 but they can’t help him in season 2. One they have their own things going on and two they can’t reveal their connection to Jaden. In all honesty they probably don’t know about Zane’s underground dueling until Jaden does. By then it’s too late to get the kid out.

Aster

I’ve already talked a lot about asteroids and his relationship with the DM cast and how they feel about his actions so we will move forward.

Hasselberry

I haven’t rewatched season 2 but I remember preferring Hasselberry to Syrus

They thing that drives me nuts though is that they both act like Jaden is crazy talking to spirits. Syrus has had multiple encounters with duel spirits since season 1 and Hasselberry has turned into a cartoon dinosaur and fought beside Neos. The man has no room to talk. We are all suppose to believe in your Dino DNA but you think Jaden talking to spirits is crazy.

Hasselberry is far more helpful than Syrus but it’s the Jaden is crazy talk that drives me nuts. Like he draws the same short straw as everyone else in season 3 and I want to do a deep dive on who got what negative emotion because some fit the character way more then others but we will talk about that later.

Over all I think the DM cast would like Hasselberry. If he’s away from Syrus. They get really toxic together trying to prove who is Jaden’s “true best friend” and he follows Syrus’s lead of putting Jaden on a pedestal and then getting upset with him when he falls off. (I wonder what their friendship could have been without Syrus?)

Axel

Okay I have to defend my boy here. Yes he sucks for abandoning Jaden. He’s also the “most experienced” when it comes to missions like this. I need to rewatch season three to figure out exactly where everything g went wrong. Yes Jaden is selfish and moving to fast but it’s also understandable where he is coming from. And everyone else invited themselves on the mission.

I saw someone say season three is meant to show Jaden what will happen if he keeps bringing his friends into dangerous situations and loses. Um I’m sorry. Jaden didn’t ask them to come. He does in season 1 ask for Syrus and others to come and support him but he doesn’t in season 3 he knows this is dangerous, stupid, and reckless, he knows he’s going to do whatever it takes and he tells them that up front. And then they get mad at him for doing exactly what he said he was going to do. And I can see the Duel Academy kids getting upset because they’ve spent 2 years with Jaden holding their hands but Jim and Axel? They did so well in the other dimension and Axel knows what this kind of mission intels, move fast. They have a short window of time to not only save Jesse but to move without Yubel knowing they are there. They have to keep moving.

Now in his defense. If my friend (and let’s be honest Jaden, Jim and Jesse are probably his first real friends) just accidentally murdered/was forced to murder our other friends I’d be upset to. And you have to blame someone even if that blame doesn’t go to the right person. Syrus was running (both his mouth and his legs) and he’s the weaker of the two. Jaden, in theory, can take care of himself. Should Axel and Jim slip the responsibility and in go after Syrus and one stay with Jaden yes. But they are teens and no one expected Jaden to spiral like that.

So here Axel is, his whole life has been a war zone. He finally has friends and they are dropping like flies but he’s still going strong. Until the supreme king is revealed to be Jaden. Jaden the silly sweet kid who welcomed him even after the way he acted. Who has always dueled with honor. Who he abandoned and lead to this monstrosity before him. And he just killed Jim. Him who only wanted to help him and is all around a great guy.

I don’t blame him for having a panic attack. He reached his limit and freaked out. He also over came that and still came back to help Jaden. Risking his life to do so.

After season 3 and 4 the DM cast love him. I don’t think he would ever run from a fight again. I think he’s started down the worst that could happened and over came it. He shows his loyalty (from what I understand) in season 4 and I believe is one of the few life long friends Jaden made at school.

Jesse

My boy. I think the DM cast is more worried about him than anything. He does have a self sacrificing tendency. But then so does Jaden. I think that’s the thing that worries them the most about the two of them traveling together post cannon. They know Jaden won’t let Jesse get hurt. But what will Jesse do if Jaden gets hurt protecting him? And the opposition is true to Jesse won’t let Jaden get hurt and we’ve already seen the lengths Jaden will go to if Jesse gets hurt protecting him.

Over all the DM cast likes him (with Seto Kaiba being huffy about it, only because he’s scared he’s losing Jaden to his future boyfriend/husband. He’s got big over protective dad fears going on)

Jim and Chumley

No notes. They are great friends and very helpful in their seasons.

I already decided Chumley finds out in between season 1 and 2. He’s just a good guy and I wish we say more of him.

I wouldn’t put it past him to figure out Jaden’s identity on his own. But still need to rewatch their season and see how things play out.

Digger: He'll eat just about anything you put in front of him, but his preference is for pancakes.

Lisa: Unlike her brother, she has to watch her carb intake because she's an elite athlete. On cheat days she'll happily eat pancakes, though.

Sam: He seeks waffles stuffed with cream cheese that are secretly like Twinkies. No one else can know about this.

Evan: Give that man a stack of scotch pancakes. Also, potato scones.

Roscoe: He grew up eating pancakes, but in early adulthood he had an expensive fancy waffle and has never looked back.

James: If it's sweet, he will eat.

Hartley: He grew up eating gourmet Belgian waffles with fresh fruit and real whipped cream, and nowadays he'll eat whatever but still has a secret love for those fancy waffles.

Axel: He's still growing (we hope) so he'll eat anything.

Mick: Pancakes, but with table syrup instead of maple syrup. He's a Midwesterner through and through.

Axel has asked you for help for his senior project for school and since the triplets all go to an elite performing arts school, he knew he had access to the two best people to help him which were his parents.

"Well you let me know what kind of sound you want. This is your project and I'm just here to help. I'm so excited for you." You said while smiling at him. You and Jack had always given your kids the choice of what they wanted to pursue and never pushed them to go into music or performing arts. It just so happened that Autumn liked to write, Ivy liked to act, and Axel loved music and making beats.

Everything that you had suggested so far, Axel didn't like and didn't hold back with telling you how he felt about it either. You always wanted for them to express how they felt.

"I just…."

"You just what? I'm trying to make this sound unique and different but you don't like anything I'm suggesting."

"Maybe I should have asked dad." You couldn't help but to roll your eyes and right at that moment, Jack peeked his head in while eating one of your mini sweet potato pies that you tried to hide from him, but it was clear that he found your hiding spot.

All Jack did was give him a blank stare.

"You already have the best of the best in front of you so I'm not really understanding." He said while fully coming into the studio.

"I don't know. I just feel that me and you would vibe better." All you did was stay quiet and Jack saw the look on your face.

"Axel, if it wasn't for your mother my ass would probably still be buttering buns at Chick-fil-A so you better get it all the way together and put some respect on her name and stop downplaying how talented she is. My career definitely wouldn't have turned into what it did without her help. Last time I checked she won a Grammy for songwriter of the year and you definitely don't have one and she offered to help you which she also didn't have to do."

"See this is the shit I was talking about. Women not being respected when it comes to the music industry and I've taught you better so you need to stop before you start to piss me off. I guarantee you would get an A on your project if you let your mom help you. But now because if it was me and I heard you say all that, I would make you do it yourself but because of the mother that you have, she's still going to help you because that's the type of person she is."

All Jack did was wiggle his eyebrows at you.

"Me and you have a date later."

"Oh goodness." Was all Axel said while you were trying not to laugh.

"Can't wait." You answered as Jack leaned down to kiss you.

"Okay, enough. I don't want to throw up my lunch."

"I… don't you have a girlfriend?" Jack asked and Axel's eyes went wide as you looked at him confused.

"DAD!"

"Oops. Well, it looks like it's a good time to tell your mom."

Axel turned to you while smiling to see your arms crossed.

What’s opinion on the new sweet elite chapter

Edit :Opinion on chapter 15 I really liked the new chapter and I am excited to see how the relationship between our character and their love interest will develop.

On the other hand I wish we could have gotten more time with the li, like explaining how we feel and everything but it is what it is. One thing I would love if we could have someone to rely on because I think at some point MC is gonna explode. Every LI have someone to rely on: Alistair has Tadashi, Claire has Raquel,Karolina has Neha. I think maybe Axel has Raquel because i know they are besties and Ellie has Tegan and Tyler. And as we see on every chapter practically MC is alone, like we have our group of friends to ask for help but we don't have a bestie to ask for advice and telling them how we feel.

Apart from that I am really curious of who is sabotaging our MC and how are going to discover the culprit.

Axel has asked you for help for his senior project for school and since the triplets all go to an elite performing arts school, he knew he had access to the two best people to help him which were his parents.

You and Jack had always given your kids the choice of what they wanted to pursue and never pushed them to go into music or performing arts. Backstory: Axel’s childhood was far from ideal. His parents were career criminals; the Bonnie and Clyde of the 70’s, they were called. They were thieves who ran with a small gang in downtown Nashville, living like kings on the money that they stole from innocent people while somehow evading the law and raising a child amidst all the chaos. Buddy and Ramona were not necessarily abusive toward Axel, at least that’s what he told himself, but they practically raised him to take over their part of the family business, teaching him all sorts of ‘useful life skills’. He could pick locks and crack simple safes at eight, handle a knife at ten, and had learned how to hotwire a car and drive by his thirteenth birthday. They spoiled him, of course, but it always felt hollow, like he didn’t deserve to live so lavishly knowing how many people had suffered for his comfort. He hated it. As much as he loved his parents, he couldn’t deny his growing anger and resentment toward them, and he didn’t quite know how to express it without things getting ugly. His father was a very reactive person, after all, and didn’t take well to any perceived lack of gratitude.

Still, his teen years brought with them the fires of rebellion. His parents had begun trying to involve him in their crimes, which he tried to resist. He’d just started high school, and wanted to focus on his studies and newfound love of music, but they were insistent, so he started staying out as late as possible. If friends wanted to hang out, he would take them anywhere but home, making up some excuse or another. Dating was tricky, as most girls his age were eager to meet their boyfriends’ parents, and he had a hard time connecting to people on a deeper level due to the double life he was being forced to lead. In short, Axel was miserable and lonely.

Things came to a head when he turned sixteen. His parents had cornered him and demanded that he finally take part in his first big heist, bringing their boss over to intimidate him into complying. In the moment, he felt like he didn’t have a choice, and reluctantly agreed. Later that night, however, as he cried alone in his big, fancy room, which he’d practically torn apart in his rage and despair, Axel came up with a plan. He ditched school to drive them to the bank, like they’d asked, but didn’t stick around. Instead, he took off as soon as they got inside, showing up late to class. They were arrested, and due to a very informative tip he’d previously called in to the police, so was their entire gang. The next several months were a nightmare. He testified against all of them in court, and eventually was released into his politician uncle’s custody. A huge target was painted on his back as a result. He tried throwing himself into his music to distract himself, but even that proved to be too painful after his older cousin, the guy who’d prodded him to pursue it in the first place, died of a cocaine overdose.

Gutted and losing hope, Axel practically begged his uncle to take him out of the city, praying that a change of scenery might finally turn his life around. It sort of worked. That summer, they moved to a quaint little ranch just outside of Nashville, and Axel finally felt at peace. He started his senior year at a brand new school in the fall, where he met the boy who would become his best friend, bandmate, and first real love.

Jesse Strange was the rising sun who brought an end to his once eternal midnight, helping him adjust and shielding him from the bullies who had immediately targeted him. They were both outcasts, both rebels with songs in their hearts and lofty dreams. It wasn’t long at all before they made a pact to form the greatest heavy metal band the 80’s would ever see, and after graduation, they set out to do just that, packing as much as they could into Jesse’s ‘72 Chevelle and getting the hell outta dodge!

Absent Sons was formed on the road to New York, where the boys planned to make their big break. They picked up a big, burly Texan named Corey in a diner out in rural Ohio who proved to be a wizard on the bass. Their drummer, Trent, was a mechanic from Vermont who offered up his dad’s old VW bus in exchange for them taking a chance on him. Billy Joe was a classically trained musician from upstate New York who had money and connections, and was eager to break into rock ‘n’ roll. Together, they lived and worked and played their hearts out, booking small gigs at local bars while renting hotel rooms. Eventually, they met the recently widowed Sophie Woodstone in a café while lamenting the fact that Billy Joe had been cut off by his conservative parents. After a few hours of sparkling conversation, she took pity on the boys, and insisted on becoming their patron, offering free room&board, food, and rehearsal space in exchange for help around the house. They were extremely grateful and immediately accepted.

They’d been at Woodstone Manor for the better part of a year, building their reputation and recording their first album, when tragedy struck. On Halloween of 1986, Jesse was tragically shot in an altercation with an older man who had wrongfully accused Axel of sleeping with his wife. Jesse had been trying to diffuse the situation, as he was wont to do, but Axel had lost his temper and gone off on the dude, fully intent on tearing him apart for threatening his friends. All of that bravado left when Jesse went down, overtaken by fear and grief, but the rage remained. Determined not to let the man hurt anyone else, Axel took off running, banking on the assumption that the shooter would chase after him. He assumed correctly. They sprinted across the property, with Axel barely managing to evade the assailant, though he lost an eye in the process. Eventually, the guy ran out of ammo, and Axel got into an all out brawl with him in the woods outside the property line, stabbing him to death before falling unconscious due to his own injuries. He died twice in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, but was revived successfully.

After recovering sufficiently from his injuries, Axel was arrested for murder, but the charges were swiftly dropped due to a number of reasons. It was obviously self defense, but during their investigation, the police discovered that the man who killed Jesse had also shot his pregnant wife just beforehand, leaving behind their five-year-old son, who called 9-1-1. Axel was released after only a day of questioning and jail time. Jesse’s mother wanted nothing to do with his effects, and his father was no where to be found, so they were released to Axel and the rest of the band. Sophie helped them make funeral arrangements. Afterward, Absent Sons went on hiatus for an about a year to grieve, but stayed together in an effort to keep each other from tipping over the edge.

In the fall of 1987, they finally released their first album, Midnight Sunshine, dedicated to Jesse, who had already laid down the lead guitar and backing vocals for almost every track before his death. The album became a smash hit, leading to them kicking off a world tour and their incredibly successful careers in glam rock/metal. From there, everything was a whirlwind of highs and lows. Trent briefly retired in the early-90’s to spend time with his wife and newborn, meaning that they had to go through a few drummers who just weren’t good fits in his absence. Corey kept getting into fights, which eventually landed him in jail on assault charges in the mid-90’s, and Axel’s reluctance to bail him out resulted in the band temporarily breaking up. Billy Joe sought out a solo career, which went pretty well for him. Axel did, as well, which was how he met his wife, Melissa, who convinced him to seek anger management counseling. Corey also sought counseling while he was incarcerated, and was ready to try and reconcile by the time he got out ten years later. Axel and Melissa already had three kids by then, and were starting to slow down in the music business in an effort to properly raise their family.

By 2015, however, Absent Sons was back together and raring to go! With Melissa on lead guitar and backing vocals, they recorded their next hit album, Bittersweet, and shot back up to the top of the charts in virtually no time. They followed it with a world tour and two more albums before Melissa tragically died of cancer in late 2021. Axel tried to keep it together, both for the sake of his family and the band, but grieving her and Sophie at the same time made that incredibly difficult. Ignoring ghosts around him had grown virtually impossible. He started closing himself off, barely showing up to practices or meetings, not really talking to people, struggling to get out of the house at all.

In October of 2025, things came to a head. Corey received a distressing phone call from Jesse, Axel’s youngest, who was worried that his dad might have developed some sort of drug addiction that they hadn’t been able to detect until recently. He’d caught his dad talking to people who weren’t there, having full on conversations with them when he thought no one was around to hear. Corey, being utterly terrified of losing another friend so soon, called his bandmates and Axel’s daughters, Sunny and Sophia, and staged an intervention for the singer. It…didn’t exactly go well. Axel knew that they were only doing it because they cared about him, but he’d been sober for decades, and couldn’t believe they didn’t trust him on that, until he heard Jesse’s testimony and realized that he’d been caught venting to the ghosts that haunted his home. Hurt and anxious, he realized that they probably wouldn’t believe him if he told them, so he made up an excuse. Said he wasn’t feeling like himself, that he needed time away to clear his head.

After storming out of the intervention, he immediately booked a reservation at Woodstone B&B, hoping some time there might help him get some closure, packed his bags, and began the long drive from Tennessee to New York, just like the one he and Jesse Strange had made decades before. Same ‘72 Chevelle, still gleaming cherry red. His friends and family were concerned, of course, but he reassured them that he would be willing to talk more once he got back. Much to his shock, however, he got way more from Woodstone B&B than he’d bargained for.

“I am magical indeed, I’m a warlock.” William answered before fully paying attention to every detail of the others life. He couldn’t help but frown when he heard the other day that his twin brother had bullied him and that they weren’t close anymore. “I’m sorry to hear about you and your twin, that’s horrible” he sympathizes before continuing to listen to the younger speak. His heart couldn’t help but flutter more and more when he had talked, relishing in the sweet sound of his voice. Don’t even get him started on that soft giggle he heard, he was about to explode any second now. He was delighted that they had similar hobbies except the only difference was William was more of a social butterfly than he was an introvert. “Well, seems like we have almost the same hobbies.” He smiles before talking about himself. “Well I’m 21 years old born in Korea but raised in the U.K. My biological parents gave me up for adoption and this wealthy family ended up adopting me. Growing up I was always the smartest kid out of all my adoptive siblings it was a blessing and a curse sometimes because they were from the Elites, it was destined that the smarter and richer you were the more powerful you became.” He starts off before taking a sip of his water. “I already have my Bachelors degree so I’m here studying abroad for my Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, what better way than to study in a city that is so advanced in technology. I do have an undergraduate degree in business administration and Economics. But I was so smart back in Europe that it only took me two years to finish getting my degrees.” He beams before getting into his hobbies. “As far as hobbies go, I like to read for fun too. I also go to historical museums from time to time, I do volunteer work for children adoption agencies as a mentor. I also played Chess growing up but it never stuck to me like Go did so I just ended up being really good at that game instead. I play an array of instruments from the piano down to the violin and cello. And I love meeting new people.” He finished before blushing at how the other was looking at him. “You know, I think it’s cute how introverted you are, that means I can keep you all to myself.” He winks before placing a nicely wrapped sandwich in front of Axel. ���Eat up, you need nutrition to keep your brain energized.”

Axel was in the park near the Todai dorms playing Go against himself like the nerd he is, a copy of Demien by Hermann Hesse laid face down on the table next to him as he concentrated on his next move. He moved his stone into position and didn't notice someone had taken the vacant seat across from him until he went to move the opponent's stone and touched someone's hand. His hand tingled all the way up his arm as he looks up at the stranger. Pulling his hand back, Axel blushes. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize anyone had joined me." He says shyly.

Hello! Don't worry, you're not pushy, the thing is there are 2 problems I have with ch. 16:

1. I got out of keys and if I start replaying ch. 16 AND ch. 12 prior to that 10 times, I won't have any keys for really big ch. 17. This is also connected to the next problem.

2. The chapter is short and there is only 1 moment for LI, to spend lots of keys on just one moment doesn't seem too relevant. Especially knowing the fact the next chapter is gonna be huge.

I still need to record full ch. 16 with Axel but I'm again swept away with personal stuff. So, I can't give you the estimate time when I start posting ch. 16, sorry.

Sweet Elite x Bridgerton (Pt. 2)

Following on from the previous post, I wrote what I think each of the Main 10 would do in this au!

Claire:

She is probably one of Arlington's most renowned doctor/botanists. She loves her work and spends a lot of time in her greenhouse and is used to being ignored by society.

Her family insisted that she accept the Queen's idea to nominate her, she gave in to make them happy although she did not expect much.

She was so nervous and shy at first that she didn't seem to be interested at all, so everyone tried to match Scholar with someone else.

When she and Scholar finally had a chance to interact, they both found understanding and acceptance in each other like never before in their lives.

She has conflicting feelings about Scholar being Lady Whistledown, it seems cruel to spread rumours, but she knows they are not bad people and have meant well from the beginning.

Tadashi:

His family's scandal damaged his reputation and left him in a difficult situation, but being the Queen's protégé has its advantages.

He's not too worried about getting married, but the Queen decided to nominate him so he accepted it as an assignment.

Tadashi: "I have struggled in vain against my good judgement, my own expectations and will, I can't take it anymore. I love you, I cannot live without you. Despite the inferiority of your birth and the scandal surrounding your circumstances." Scholar: "Oh, me too- Wait, against your good judgment?"

Scholar had to explain to their father that they were not being bullied into marriage, Tadashi just has a strange way of courting.

Lady Whistledown helped clean up his reputation after the scandal, he likes knowing that Scholar genuinely cares about him. He has never paid much attention to society gossip anyway, he just hopes Scholar is safe.

Raquel:

She was not willing to marry, it was her parents who made the decision.

She never treated Scholar badly despite initial attempts to match them up, she knew it wasn't their fault.

She began to grow fond of Scholar when they proved to be quite adventurous and fun, but her heart was smitten when Scholar kicked her butt in a shooting competition.

At one point Scholar thought there was really no interest on her part and accepted the courtship of others, Rachel burst into their home at dawn the next day to ask their father for they hand in marriage.

She thinks having Lady Whistledown as a wife is fucking sexy and cool, if she could she'd brag about it, but she will protect Scholar's secret with her life.

Alistair:

He did not expect to be a candidate for the Diamond of the Season, after all, he only rubs shoulders with society because of the inheritance he received from a distant aunt.

He felt he was not a good match for them, after all, his family was still on a slightly higher scale than his own.

His younger brothers were a crucial part of the courtship, they plotted and even forged letters to motivate Scholar and him to meet and fall in love.

His whole family is delighted with Scholar and his father, they treat them as part of their family and often meet at their country house.

He is more concerned about Scholar being caught than the issue of them being Lady Whistledown itself.

Ellie:

As a natural inventor, Ellie knew what it was like to be seen as an outsider and to be constantly questioned by society, so she did not hesitate to extend a helping hand to Scholar from the start.

Neither she nor her family had any urgency for a marriage, but the Queen thought that marriage might appease her mischievous personality.

The moment she discovered that Scholar matched her freak Arlington trembled.

Since their marriage she calls Scholar her muse and tries to name all her inventions after them.
