It is great to see that there are so many interactions on this post and there are so many people who agree with what I wrote. It honestly feels cathartic to finally write what I felt when I became an avid admirer of BL series. There are a few things that I would like to add to the post:

Like @scarefox very accurately said that this topic is not something that can be black or white. There are of course people and couples that are similar to the ones that are being represented in the BL series.

There are couples who like using the terms 'wife' and 'husband' while addressing each other in the relationship and using these terms to interchangeably represent top and bottom. And, there are couples and individuals who are comfortable revealing if they are top/bottom/switch and it is fine because it's their choice to do so.

But, having said that there are couples, who do not fit into the boxes that are shown in the BL series. There are couples who do not like being asked who is the wife in the relationship and they rather be addressed as 'husband' and 'husband'. There are people who do not like to discuss whether they are top/bottom/switch.Like any couple, relationships work for everyone differently. Therefore, it cannot be represented in the same way.

Also, sadly with BL actors themselves indulging in the topic of whose name comes before in a ship name designating who is the top/bottom, it has become normalised. As a consequence of this, many people feel that this is how all queer relationships are and it is okay to ask queer couples about their sexual preference/positions etc etc. when not everyone might be comfortable in sharing this information.

So, although the BL industry has done a lot of good by shedding light on queer relationships, it still has a long way to go. Also, a little versatility never hurt anyone anyway.

Imagine you had to watch the same kind of love story with the same kind of characters. It would kinda become boring right? So, in conclusion it is good to see new stories being made in the BL industry. It is good to see the industry evolve and also good to see many previous mistakes being rectified. I hope more and more people feel represented through these series. Can't wait to see what is in store for the next chapter....

I was reading the comments under Bible's announcement post for '4 minutes' and while I was so excited for this project finally seeing the light of day, I was also disappointed while reading the comments.

Why are we still having discussions about top/bottom in 2024? I know a lot of BLs have made you believe that top and bottom are entire personalities but that is simply not true. They are just sexual preferences and believe it or not sexual preferences do not define someone's personality.

That is why I feel the lead pair in "Pit Babe" is so path breaking. It is a very big example that your personality does'nt define your sexual life. Whose name comes first in a ship doesn't matter. It doesn't change anything. Also "Bad Buddy" in this matter, they refused to set themselves in boxes of wife(เมีย) and husband(ผัว). It was a series that very nicely explained the stereotypes gay couples face and the stereotypes that still exist in the BL industry.

Masculine, dominant ≠ Top and Feminine, submissive ≠ Bottom always (key word being always because there are people who fit into masculine top and feminine bottom too which is perfectly fine but diversity and representation of other people in the spectrum is equally important) and that is something that needs to be understood. I don't think I could have said it better than P'Apo myself. Also more power to him because he is one of the few BL actors who I have seen openly talking about this topic.

And believe me guys someone who played Vegas doesn't need to always play roles like that, moreover we don't even know what his role and character is going to be like. This is what acting is. Don't limit actors into boxes.

P.S This top/bottom discussion really needs to go. I haven't only seen this in comment section of BL actors but also in the comment section of gay couples. If they let you in this part of their life that's okay but if they are not comfortable sharing, just let it go. It hardly matters. We need to stop seeing everything with heteronormative lenses where there has to be a female/wife (เมีย) role and a male/husband (ผัว) role in every relationship.

Once they had finally landed. Everyone went on with following through on their orders. Nat helped Bruce fill a trolley with the equipment he needed.

"Are you going to tell Yelena?" He asked her as she sighed deeply.

"I know I should but I want to make sure that Y/N is still in there somewhere." Nat told him. He just nodded as the two finished off their task at hand.

Wanda and Steve both stood outside of the cell. Observing Y/N as she lay unconscious.

"What's going to happen if we can't get her back?" Wanda asked. Not tearing her eyes away from the girl in the cell.

"We will have to treat her like every other threat we encounter. Terminate her." Steve told her sadly. Hoping himself that it wouldn't come to that.

All of them watched as Bruce performed his tests that he could while she was unconscious. Tended to her wounds which she had. Nat had a lot of questions to ask her.

"She is physically fine other than a few lacerations and a lot of scar tissue." He informed them.

"What about mentally?" Nat asked him as he sighed.

"We won't know that until she wakes up." He told her.

"We should put on a watch." Steve stated. "Everyone has a shift. We need to find out as much as we can about that base. We need to know if there are anymore still operating."

Everyone nodded in agreement before leaving Steve to take the first watch. Taking a seat. Observing Y/N as she lay there.

Y/N was running around, chasing Yelena in the yard. The two giggling as they played.

"You're too fast!" Yelena called out to her. Y/N turning around to face her.

"I just have longer legs little widow." Y/N told her. Slowing down. Allowing Yelena to tackle her. Y/N groaned with a laugh. "You got me Lena." She smiled. Yelena removed herself. Doing a happy little dance. Cheering as Y/N laughed at her younger sister.

Y/N had started to stir awake. The bilnding light of the cell was harsh. She closed her eyes once more before re opening them. Sighing when she felt a heavy metal object around her wrist. Looking out of the cell to see Steve sat there, reading the paper.

"Where am I?" Y/N asked as she sat up. Facing the blonde man who looked over the paper to see Y/N staring back at him.

"Good. You're awake." He said as he closed the paper, folding it over as he stood. Placing it on the chair. "I have some questions for you." He approached the glass as she watched his every move. "What is your name?"

'Y/N!!' Was what her mind was trying to scream out. The name she was given from birth.

"I am The Lightening Soldier." She stated calmly. Her eyes fixated on Steve's form.

"No. Let me introduce myself." He went to continue when Y/N cut him off.

"Captain America." She stated sarcastically. "Hydra's number one enemy for decades."

"I am Steve Rogers." He said. Ignoring her sarcastic remark. "And Hydra has been gone for years." He told her.

"Hydra will never be gone." She seethed as she rose to her feet. "Hydra will always remain." Stepping closer to the glass.

"You are actually extremely important to them." Steve stated as he picked up the file. All of the information they had of The Lightening Soldier. Hydra's greatest weapon since the Winter Soldier. "I can see a lot of attributes here. You're even quite smart."

"You know when a star implodes, it leaves behind this black hole. The bigger the star, the bigger the black hole." Y/N whispered as she lay on the grass in between Natasha and Yelena.

"The sun's a star?" Yelena asked as she looked up at Y/N.

"It is. Before the solar system begun, the sun was only a star." Y/N told them.

"So what would happen if the sun imploded?" Natasha asked her.

"Well it would create a massive black hole, taking in everything in our solar system and life as we know it, would cease to exist." Y/N told them.

"I don't like black holes." Yelena mumbled making her older sisters laugh.

Y/N was laying back down, Steve had switched up with Wanda. Wanda was intrigued by Y/N.

"You knew my brother." Wanda stated. Causing Y/N to stare in her direction.

"Was he Hydra?" Y/N questioned.

"Yes. We both were." Wanda started. "That is how we got our powers." She allowed red wisp dance around her nimble fingers.

"It was you who enchanted me. You have put these." Y/N pointed to her head as she approached the glass. "These visions in my head!!" Wanda flinched when Y/N yelled at her.

"I didn't put anything in your mind." Wanda said. "Something had simply awakened what was locked away behind some wall." Y/N glared at her. "So Pietro? You trained him?"

"I don't know a Pietro." Y/N snarled as she glared at Wanda. "I barely saw the outside of my cell. I was only used as a weapon. Nothing more."

"They must have wiped it from your mind. The same way they did with Bucky." Wanda mumbled.

"You know James?" Y/N asked her. Wanda could see some emotion withi her eyes. "Is he alive?"

"He's alive. He's having a break from the Avengers right now." Wanda informed her.

"No. No. No." Y/N told her. "You need to make sure he is safe. He is still a weapon of Hydra. If he somehow managed to break free of their hold. They will still come for him. He was their first weapon. Please protect him." Wanda was shocked to see some sort of emotion from the eyes that were stone cold moments before.

"I'll speak with Steve on one condition." Wanda negotiated as Y/N just nodded. "You tell us everything you know about Hydra."

"Yes. Of course. Just save my brother." Y/N told her. Wanda nodded before calling for Steve.

Cryptid Hunting - Eddie & Venom x Reader

Dear gods it's been a long time since I wrote but this duo? marry me.

You have a love for monsters and stories, folklore and cryptozoology especially the more interesting creatures, in particular.

Eddie once had asked you if you really believe in all those stories, legends and cryptids and folklore. He found them interesting and entertaining, especially some of your favorites you shared with him, but didn't consider a lot on the subject.

"Babe, your body contains an alien slime that cured your cancer and eats your ass. This is just a cursed child that flew out a chimney and haunts New Jersey. No offense, Venom, honey."

"NONE TAKEN."

"That's fair."

You had always wanted to try cryptid hunting just for fun, but could never convince anyone to join you for a night of tomfuckery in a creepy area with legends and rumors.

Eddie though, had no excuse.

Your reasoning was, he's a journalist, he should investigate this story, spinning your laptop around with an article on a chosen cryptid for him to look at while you also read about it from one of your cryptozoology and folklore books.

Your second reason was, he's your boyfriend and "Please, please, please, please baby?"

Which of course he could never say no to, not that it helps that Venom is also now pleading along with you.

"YES EDDIE, PRETTY PLEASE? WE CAN FIND IT AND EAT IT. AN EXOTIC SNACK, AND WE WILL IMPRESS THEM."

Both his lovers pleading for him to do something? He's a lovestruck sucker as is, even if it is walking around like a couple of dumbasses in the dark. He's done weirder.

You honestly didn't actually expect him to agree though, and are ecstatic that he does.

Your excitement and the big kiss on his cheek is already worth it he thinks.

You make a day out of it, a roadtrip.

With snacks. Lots of snacks, and one guy at a gas station that was just awful. "HE DIDN'T TASTE VERY GOOD EITHER."

All in all, Eddie was having a good day. Time off spent with his favorite beings, a scenic drive, wearing shoes. Not really expecting much of the "cryptid hunt" besides walking around in the dark and talking to the woods like ghosthunters.

But you and Venom were hyped, as soon as you parked in a secluded area and geared up with flashlights and a video camera, he didn't know who was more excited.

Venom was hovering over his shoulder, head whipping around so much he was spinning Eddie as he went, following you "to a good spot."

You sat in the woods for awhile together waiting for it to get dark, wrapped in a cozy hoodie and leaning against Eddie while reading to him different stories from one of your cryptid books.

When darkness settled around you and something could be heard walking through the brush, you flashlight spun toward it.

"DO NOT WORRY MORSEL, WE ARE THE LETHAL PROTECTOR. YOU ARE SAFE."

Eddie did not expect, at the sound of something moving closer in the woods, for Venom to jump out of him, and into you. Backing up with black good around your hand now shaking with the beam towards it.

"What the hell V?" he whisper shouted while your other hand covered your mouth trying to hide a snicker.

"THAT'S ENOUGH HUNTING FOR TONIGHT."

A weird trilling sound came for the forest and Venom encased you, going full form and grabbing Eddie over your shoulder before sprinting back to the card and tossing him inside.

Your flashlights, heavy duty and bought just for this, were long forgotten while multiple tentacles rummaged around Eddie before finding the keys and slamming them in the ignition.

"What's wrong V? i thought you wanted to eat a cryptid for me?"

You try to soothe and pet him while Eddie gets his bearings again.

"NOT HUNGRY. THE UGLY MAN GAVE US INDIGESTION. BESIDES, EDDIE WAS SCARED."

"HEY!"

Eventually, against Venom's protests on Eddie being a chicken and too scared to continue, Eddie trekked back to retrieve your gear, Venom back with him and switching from full cowl to hiding inside him again while you waited in the car.
