Who remembers how much the fundies loved Bill Gothard back in the day? This is from the Sword of the Lord in 1981:
You need a right attitude toward standards. Bill Gothard has said: “The wider you wish your spiritual influence to be, the higher your standards will become.” This means not only the moral standards (biblical standards) which are absolute and non-negotiable, but might also include social standards (acceptable behavior in our society such as standards of etiquette, thoughtfulness, contributing to the well-being of a whole group, etc.) and expedient rules (any rules that make it easier for individuals to do right or rules that make the operation of any group--home, school, church--more efficient).
Only fundamentalists spend this much time on rules.

Revelation 19: Sword of the Lord
Who is this apocalyptic warrior with eyes of blazing fire, and his glittering diadems, astride his brilliant white steed, the radiant white of his fine linen pure and clean, yet stained with blood? #Revelation19 #WhiteHorse #RodofIron
Then I saw the sky having been opened up and behold! A white horse, the One sitting upon it being called faithful and true, and in righteousness he judges and does battle, and his eyes a blaze of fire, and upon his head many diadems, having a name having been written which not even one perceives except him, and having wrapped around him attire having been dipped in blood, and having his name be…

"We're talking low prices."
It's Alecto, in her favorite t-shirt that she never got to wear from another life! I do hope there's still some Nona in her somewhere, but I also fully support her on her quest for revenge. Come on, Barbie-- let's go party.

The Scepter and the Sword
The Scepter and the Sword
8 And the word of the Lord came to me: 9 “Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus says the Lord, say: “A sword, a sword is sharpened     and also polished, 10 sharpened for slaughter,     polished to flash like lightning! (Or shall we rejoice? You have despised the rod, my son, with everything of wood.) 11 So the sword is given to be polished, that it may be grasped in the hand. It is sharpened and…

What do you think of this advice from 1981 Joy Rice Martin?
Get up on time. (Try to get up at least 15 minutes earlier than the rest of the family).
Concentrate on right attitudes. "This is the day which the Lord hath made, we will rejoice and be glad in it." Pray, "Good morning, Lord. Here is my body. What would you like to do with me today?"
Dress attractively for the day.
Turn on cheerful music, classical or sacred.
Get something cooking which smells good.
Wake everyone up with a kiss. Tell them that breakfast will be ready in 10 or 15 minutes.
Bring your husband orange juice or coffee if he has difficulty waking up.

JEREMIAH S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 47
Wednesday, 9/21/22
SCRIPTURE:
“Now, O sword of the Lord, when will you be at rest again? Go back into your sheath; rest and be still." ~ Jeremiah 47:6
OBSERVATION:
Only Jesus stilled - can still - and still stills - the sword of the Lord...
Without Him, it will not rest until it finds and punishes... me...
But then again...
...the Word of God is "sharper than a two edged sword..." so that sword never rests and should never be sheathed...
...and Jesus did say He came bringing a sword - to separate me from the enemy and his influence(s)...
...and in the "full armor of God" the sword is the Spirit/the Word - a weapon of offense and defense - the SWord...
APPLICATION:
Do not sheath the sword - the Word - in my life...
Learn to use it in obedience and love...
Rest and be still in Jesus...
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father God - thank You for Jesus's protection from Your justified anger - forgive me for not drawing Your Word more often when I face temptations and conflicts in my life - not so much to put others in their place as to keep the enemy from taking charge of my words and actions... May Your Holy Spirit continue to sharpen Your Sword and instruct me how best to use it for Your glory... In Jesus's Name, and for Your praiseful worship and honor...
Yours, in Him... gratefully and with joy...

Blow The Loudest Holy Trumpet
Judges 7:20The three companies blew the trumpets and smashed the jars. Grasping the torches in their left hands and holding in their right hands the trumpets they were to blow, they shouted, “A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!” First foremost, Gideon ordered his men to do two things: Covering up a torch in an earthen pitcher, he had them, at an appointed signal, break the pitcher and let the…
