Bob giving up control of his life to the physical embodiment of his depression and then beating himself up over it and the void just becoming more powerful as a result is such a perfect metaphor. like yeah, that's exactly how it is, you can't beat depression with self-loathing, you need support and purpose and the people you love and loves you. they pulled it off beautifully

I watched the bear season 4 trailer and well...we will see how that goes but i just gotta remind yall (and considering that season 4 is not really the last season, which is debatable all in itself) that the ending of S2 and S3 are opposite so I expect S1 and S4 to be the same to follow the pattern ABBA of poetry.

Let me explain.

S2 ends with Syd finishing the family night in absolute brio despite everything. When we see her after her talk with her father, she seems happy, she is proud of herself and her team for managing to go through it and Carmy......well he's stuck in the frigde after being maniac and so he is super low and depressed and angry.

S3, it is all flipped around. We ends the season on Syd having a panic attack, withering, totally lost and confused and under the pressure of what's coming, of the choices she has to make. (I'd like to note that a beautiful stunning yellow light embraces her during that panic attack whereas Carmy lays in the dark in the fridge with a very electric blue shining upon him, study of colours, their meaning and all that very interesting, for another time). So yeah, that is how Syd ends S3 and Carmy ends it after his talk with Chef terry, we see him walk in the streets of Chicago nights and idk I think he feels recharged and somehow he seems ready to move forward...he said what he needed to say to his old Chef, listened to Chef Terry.

Now, S1 ended with Syd and Carmy in total symbiose (that look he gives her!!!!) They literally share vows to one another, to build something together, family style.

So what about S4? If we follow the pattern (and if S4 is not the last season) i think we can expect for S4 to end with the Bear closing or on the verge of closing. Now if S4 is really the last season, i dont think closing the Bear is the best option although it could be depending on the writing but i feel like the Bear michelin stars wannabee is on the verge of closing but do you know what saves it? The sandwich, its origin, its very family scenario could be really good. The sandwich window could be what holds them up to the surface and Sydcarmy could go back to early S2 where they worked together and came up with a menu together and listened to each other because that is where they were at their peak.

Only a few weeks to go, we will see.

okay- initial thoughts

1. I love Jess x Richie (and Mikey x Richie- but that’s a convo for later…) so seeing her there fills me with so much joy.

2. In my experience in other fandoms, teasers are from the first 1-2 eps, with maybe a shot or two from a later ep, so this means that Jimmys money storyline comes through early on- a really good sign as it means we have a lot of time to resolve it (and more time for Sydcarmy to go canon 🙏)

3. It feels SO GOOD to see them side by side again. Sydcarmy come HOME to me!!!

4. Fak I hate you so much oh my god STOP TAKING UP MY SCREEN TIME!!
