I saw a thing going around from the @linked-maze server (which I am not in atm) but thought it'd be cute to do with my poor Ocarina of Time Link. The hand-gesture is from the ASL sign for "No."
"How old are you?" indeed.
(He quite frankly has no fucking clue.)
(....he also can't do math to figure it out.)

Febuwhump Day 15: "Who did this to you?"
Kokiri (OOT) and Minish (MC) are from @thatbrokenpromise by @batrogers
****
Sitting near Minish was one of the safer places to be, all things considered. Minish would alert Kokiri to any sudden movements, and Kokiri was fine as long as he didn’t startle Minish himself. Minish didn’t even seem to entirely distrust Kokiri, which was more than could be said about most people.
Kokiri was bored, not wanting to sleep but not willing to mingle with the others either. He watched Minish thread his fingers through the tuft of hair on his tail, for all appearances oblivious to the world. Kokiri softly clucked his tongue to get his attention, a half-formed question in his mind.
Minish nearly jumped out of his skin, grumbling when he realized it was just Kokiri. He waited for Kokiri to speak, looking at his hands warily.
Instead of whatever he was going to say, Kokiri found himself signing, “Who did this to you?”
Minish frowned, pulled his tail closer, and gestured at his back for a sword that wasn’t there.
“No, the…” The way you act like a skittish creature, how you startle and hiss when somebody touches you. How I feel like we have something in common, almost. “You’re jumpy around most people, nervous. So. I was wondering.” Wondering if a cruel person did something to you, wondering if they need taken care of.
Minish flinched and nodded, trying to sign something that Kokiri couldn’t parse. He glanced around and pointed at Chief, sitting well out of earshot.
“Chief… a doctor?”
Minish nodded affirmative and signed something that looked like “Grabbed me.”
Kokiri hissed softly, giving Minish a thin smile when he startled at the sound. “I’m sorry.”
There was nothing else that was adequate enough to say, really. A simple apology would have to do.
Minish kept a suspicious stare locked on Kokiri. Kokiri was unfazed, letting Minish see that he felt no pity, only sympathy. Minish huffed and crouched lower, curling into a tight ball. So quiet that Kokiri almost thought he imagined it, he mumbled, “Thanks.”
Kokiri didn’t answer, didn’t try to move closer. They were close enough. Here, they were safe enough.

lu time for blorbo bingo, and/or tbp kokiri if youre familiar enough with him?
Tumblr media
Honestly Time is mostly just there for me, I don't know much about him that's specific to LU. (also i desperately need to finish OoT) Unfortunately I am completely unfamiliar with Prince beyond I'm pretty sure he's the Link from Hyrule Warriors.

sleepy prompt: 33
“Look me in the eye and tell me what time you went to bed last night. Or *if* you went to bed, for that matter.”
Answered for That Broken Promise, GanLink. Extremely G-rated LOL IIII
There was a light under Link’s doorframe, and Ganondorf paused on his way to breakfast. While it wasn’t unheard of for his young lover to be awake so early, it wasn’t common. He stopped and knocked on the door briefly, waited, and then called out.
“It’s me.”
There was a brief noise, bare feet on stone, and then the door was opened and Link scowled up at him.
His hair was a mess, tucked halfway into a bun and half not. He only had on a long, wool tunic against the cold night air and Ganondorf could see, behind him, the materials for jewel work scattered across the floor like colourful broken glass.
He raised his eyebrows at the young man, leaning insouciantly against the doorframe.
“...How long did you sleep last night?”
Link pursed his lips and propped his hands on his hips, in lieu of answering.
He could play this game all day. “Did you sleep?”
Link was far too pale to win that argument: even in the dim light of the hallway, the heavy bruises under his eyes betrayed that he most certainly had not. The state of his floor also suggested as much, and idly he checked for if he’d stepped on something he shouldn’t have coming to the door. He didn’t think so; the pale floor didn’t show any sign of blood...
“What do you want?” Link signed. The words took visible effort to form clearly.
“Why don’t we have breakfast in my rooms?” Ganondorf suggested. They didn’t usually share sleeping quarters, but this young idiot wasn’t going to sleep otherwise. He could ask for the food to be brought to them, for all he normally liked to join the others. Meeting his mothers to review their latest works could wait.
And, as he watched the resistance crumblef from Link’s irritated face, he could at least get him into a bed that way. And from there, they could work on getting him to fucking sleep.
The fact he didn’t even try to clean up his floor suggested his impulse to invite him to bed was, in the end, right.

LINK, CHILD OF THE KOKIRI Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Hyrule Warriors
[From my Link's Meet AU, That Broken Promise]
GENDER: Male (afab) PRONOUNS: He/Him or Gerudo “She” HEIGHT: 5'3" AGE: 20 [27?] HEALTH: Throat & Stomach scars, severe PTSD with violent startle response.
WEAPONS: Sword, Mirror Shield, Bow & Arrow ITEMS: Enchanted bag, Ocarina of Time, Fierce Deity Mask, Goron’s Bracelet, Lens of Truth SPELLS: Din’s Fire, Farore’s Wind, Nayru’s Love
Kokiri grew up, from ten to seventeen, in a past before his own birth and was pulled back to a future he almost no longer believed real. Zelda returned him to that original, deciding moment when they first met after his quest was done, but Hyrule had no more use for a boy of prophecy when the Triforce had always been broken. He travelled to Termina, then stayed with the Gerudo when his return to Hyrule turned sour. Shortly after, he was snagged through a portal into a strange place, rescued a young woman and found himself with little choice but to tag along with a Hylian army against a witch, a resurrected Ganondorf, and several others like him. Once the witch and Ganondorf were both defeated for good, he was returned to his time once again, this time (he hoped) for good. Unfortunately, the peace didn’t last at home either. Shortly before everything happened, he split his time between Nabooru, Zelda, and Malon as he tried to find peace again.
Kokiri is a bitter young man, with a sharp sense of humour and a tendency to pick at things he doesn’t trust will last. He is also deeply protective of others and sympathetic to seeing someone struggle. If he can step in to ease their pain, he will. He is as quick to laugh as he is to anger, and often regrets his actions when the moment has passed. His relationship with Zelda is strained more by his actions than anything she’s done in this time. Zelda and Malon both have no idea where he is, and do not expect to know.
Kokiri does not speak, learned literacy from Nabooru when he was twelve, and sign language while in Termina. Glossed as ASL.
Kokiri is bisexual, and extremely selective about who he lets touch him. He’s open to a lot of things once his trust is earned, and to many people’s surprise he is sleeping with Zelda still.

[anon requested 40; "Sick cuddles are the best."]
****
The day had been long and rough for both of them. Kokiri did his best to be uncooperative, deflecting all of Prince's attempts to care for his sick companion. Neither were feeling any better for it, and Prince had mostly resigned a few hours ago. He sat across from Kokiri, sharing his exhaustion as he watched the other man retreat into the blankets as if he could stifle his relentless sneezing.
Kokiri hadn't let Prince do anything for him. Any offers of tea or medicine were met with bared teeth and a poisonous glare. Prince was only still by his side because he cared too much, and Kokiri was too weak to fight back.
Then, by some miracle, Kokiri caught Prince's eye and raised a shaking hand. A finger curled in, inviting him closer, and Prince looked at his face to make sure.
Prince had never imagined that Kokiri could look so miserable- almost vulnerable, even. The other man glanced away, his hand dropping to clutch the blankets closer, but Prince wasn't letting the opportunity pass.
Prince laid down beside Kokiri, letting the smaller man tuck himself against his chest. He dared to rub Kokiri's back, and was rewarded when violent shaking eased to sporadic shivers. Even better, Kokiri sighed and melted in Prince's arms, the most relaxed he had been since he had fallen ill.
Prince had half a mind to sign "I told you so," but he had the feeling that Kokiri would be asleep before he was done.

sick prompt: 7
#7: “You okay? You’re never this quiet.”
Ocarina of Time, post-game GanLink, technically a pre-story piece for That Broken Promise. Rated G, unless you count criminal amounts of fluff.
IIII
Link looked up from checking the fit of a gemstone in its necklace and caught his lover looking blindly at the shuttered window. There was nothing to see there; even were it open, the window looked out at the split stone that protected the fortress in Gerudo Valley from invaders.
He didn’t think Ganondorf was thinking of invasion, not here and now. Not with that kind of vacant look on his face. He clicked his tongue, and got no response.
That worried him more. He carefully put the stones away, pliers and necklace too, and unfolded from his seat on the floor to clamber up onto the bed at his side. It was only as the bed dipped next to him that Ganondorf woke from his reverie, rapidly catching and capping his bottle of ink.
“Ah, my heart. What is it?”
Link didn’t answer him immedintely. He looked his face over and turned to stack his papers neatly and set them and the lap desk aside before he knelt by his chest and reached up to cup his cheeks.
Ganondorf turned his face away, presenting his cheek – not his lips.
Strike two.
Link made a small, amused noise in his throat and tapped him pointedly on the cheek with two fingers. He touched his forehead briefly (he didn’t have the jewellery on covering it, either) and then dropped back on the bed to sign.
“You’re too quiet,” he said. “How long have you been sick?”
“I’m fine,” his lover insisted. “I can still work.”
Link raised both eyebrows and reached back to check the work he’d been doing. There was a scratch sheet nearby, graphite on parchment that could be rubbed clean on which he could see several sums done and scratched out and done again. He didn’t understand the numbers – he’d learned to read and write but not much math – and simply held it up because he could tell just from the repetition it was likely the same sums done and redone.
The same thing double and triple checked, out of presumed exhaustion.
Ganondorf glared, an expression that had zero impact on Link at this point in his life.
“Don’t even bother,” he signed. “You should go back to bed.”
“The work needs done.”
“I will take it to Nabooru. Who can likely still do math.”
“You can’t even read it.”
“How many times did you redo the same numbers here?”
Ganondorf threw his hands in the air. “Fine! I concede, you can take it to her.”
Link perked up immediately and sat up to land a kiss on his lover’s nose. “Perfect,” he signed after. “I will be back.”
Ganondorf rolled his eyes, as if exasperated, but Link knew he was looking forward to it as he settled down once the lapdesk and papers were out of his way. There was still plenty of room for him to rejoin him on the other side of the bed, after all.

how about cuddles or frog for the ask game? (totally not because i saw a cool frog immediately after that post)
The long desert nights were unbearably cold when spent in an empty bed. No amount of blankets could come close to a warm body sharing the space. Link wanted nothing more than cuddles from his beloved, but this was a harsh reminder that he was alone.
****
“So you’re telling me there’s a plant that gives you energy?” Hateno said. “Zelda made me eat that frog for nothing?”
Chief choked on his coffee. “You what?!”

[@aur0ralights requested 7; Helping them wash off the blood from their body]
****
Prince almost feared that he had reached Kokiri too late. His partner was isolated, all his energy spent on a nearly futile attempt to staunch the blood gushing from his arm. His eyes were wary as Prince ran to him, but he saw relief there, too.
A deep gash was scored along Kokiri's arm, blood coating his hand and the talons of a dead aeralfos beside him. His blood soon covered Prince's hands, too, as he quickly examined the wound. It needed stitched and bandaged, and Chief thankfully arrived just as Prince determined such.
Kokiri managed to sit through it, and Chief took the hint to move on as soon as he was done. Kokiri collapsed against Prince the instant they were alone, shaky with panic and fatigue. Prince took that as a cue to hold him, neither of them caring about the blood spreading over their skin and clothes.
Camp was set up not far from them, and Prince easily led Kokiri to their tent once it was ready. Enclosed in privacy, his partner only shivered harder, flexing the hand that was now crusted over with blood.
Prince grimaced and beckoned Smith over, who brought them clean cloths and a bowl of water. Kokiri stirred, pressing his cheek to Prince's chest and watching wearily as Prince dampened a cloth. Prince lifted Kokiri's hand to rest on his, and gently pressed the cloth against Kokiri's palm. He coaxed rusty rivulets to trickle down Kokiri's fingers until nothing was left but skin.
Prince checked his own hands last, assuring himself that the only blood left was swirling in the bowl. He cupped his partner's face and tried to meet his gaze, but Kokiri's eyes flicked away before Prince could see whatever he was too tired to guard.
Prince set the bowl aside, giving in to a simpler tactic. He leaned down to kiss his partner and Kokiri readily obliged, eager for escape.

[@batrogers requested 10; "I have a perfectly reasonable explanation for this"]
****
Prince watched, extremely unamused, as Hateno and Kokiri returned from the field opposite the stable. Kokiri was wincing with every step, his arm slung around Hateno's shoulders for support. His clothes were grass-stained and his breathing was wrong in the way that suggested broken ribs.
Kokiri caught Prince's eye and signed, "No need to worry. There's no danger."
"It looks like your ribs are broken."
"I-" Kokiri's hand went to his chest as if he could stop the pain, then he shook it off. "I have a perfectly reasonable explanation for this."
"I'm dying to know," Prince said, glancing at Hateno's carefully expressionless face.
Kokiri tried to straighten a little, and immediately regretted it. "Hateno bet that I couldn't catch and tame a wild horse."
Prince pinched the bridge of his nose and exhaled, hard. "As much as I love to see you two... getting along...?"
Hateno gave him a wide grin and a thumbs down with his free hand.
"We're low enough on potions. You can heal on your own time unless we get moved before then."
Kokiri rolled his eyes. "I don't need a potion, I'll be fine after I sit for a while."
"Don't you want to know if he did it?" Hateno added, then put his fingers to his lips and whistled before Prince could answer.
A formerly wild horse trotted over and tried to worriedly nose at Kokiri, who gently pushed it away.
"Come on, do you want to name her?" Kokiri asked, a smug look on his face.
Prince sighed again, but he couldn't say no to that.

[@batrogers requested 13; "This is what happens when you don't sleep."]
****
The last few mornings, Prince had woken to the sound of Kokiri playing his ocarina. The song would continue throughout the day, his partner clearly restless over something and wanting to use the music to escape. Prince didn't see anything wrong with it, and most of the others enjoyed it so he let it slide.
Today, however, Prince was greeted with the usual silence he had grown used to. He started to leave his tent and nearly tripped over Kokiri, who was curled up on the ground just outside. Prince frowned and knelt to check on him, more than a little alarmed.
Kokiri only responded when Prince touched his shoulder. He shot up and Prince ducked away from a defensive punch, but there was no need- Kokiri's fist missed Prince entirely and he fell back down just as suddenly. Kokiri grit his teeth, his head clutched in his hands, and Prince waited a few minutes for his partner to look up again.
When he did, Prince showed him the ocarina that had fallen beside Kokiri when he startled. "You've been playing this all night instead of sleeping," he signed, more a deduction than a question.
Kokiri glared at him, his hand shaking as he signed back, "I don't play it all night."
"How long has it been, almost half a week?" Prince said, ignoring him. He gestured to Kokiri's obvious state of miserable and added, "This is what happens when you don't sleep."
Kokiri wordlessly reached for his ocarina, and Prince handed it back.
"Now come inside and lay down before you make yourself more sick than you already are."

[anon requested 26; "Don't feel bad if you puke this up. At least you tried to keep it down."]
****
"I told you, I'm not taking it," Outset growled, retreating further into the blankets.
Chief measured a scoop of powdered something into a mug of tea, stirring it as he spoke. "This will help you feel better, which will mean that we can get moving again. That's all, there's nothing bad in it."
"I've puked everything up today, I'm not wasting your medicine."
They both knew that was a lie, but Chief entertained it. "It's okay if you can't keep it down. As long as you try, I'll be happy."
"I'm not taking it, just leave me alone," Outset grumbled.
Chief sighed and placed the mug in Outset's reach. "Here. For when you're ready."
Chief left to give him some space, finding Kokiri waiting nearby.
"He's not going to drink that," Kokiri signed, gesturing at the abandoned tea.
"I know," Chief responded lightly, pulling a bottle from his bag. "I asked Hateno to put this in the broth that Outset was so eager to drink before I talked to him. What I added to the tea was sugar. If he stays hydrated that would be nice, but I'm not counting on it."
"He won't be happy if he finds out."
"He won't," Chief agreed, "But at least he won't be sick."

[@chaoticharlotte requested 2; "I literally never get sick. Why is this happening?"]
****
Their sick brothers had recovered, and they were finally on the move again. The entire group was antsy, ready to walk and make the most of their time in this era before the world shattered around them.
Kokiri helped Prince get everyone ready, and stayed near him as they started walking. It wasn’t long before the captain, usually as quiet as Kokiri was, began to attract attention with muffled fits of coughing.
“I’m fine,” Prince signed, feeling Kokiri’s eyes on him without looking.
Kokiri didn’t say anything.
He let Prince continue until the other man staggered, Kokiri catching his arm and holding him upright as he nearly coughed up a lung. Prince tried to pull away like nothing had happened, but Kokiri’s grip was unrelenting.
“Are you going to call for a break yourself, or do I have to make you?” Kokiri signed, letting go as Prince stood firm.
“We can’t afford to stop, we just got started,” Prince argued.
Kokiri crossed his arms. “How long are you planning to push yourself? Until you cough up blood?”
“If I have to, yes,” Prince snapped.
Kokiri smirked coolly. “I’m sure Engie will be happy to hear that.”
”Do not,” Prince signed quickly, a hint of fear flashing across his face.
Kokiri lifted one hand, his fingers poised for a loud snap. “So you’ll rest?”
Prince hissed, but wavered when he saw Chief watching them. “…Yes.”
“Excellent.”
Kokiri whistled for the group to stop, and led the none-too-pleased Prince to sit away from the others.
“I never get sick,” Prince complained as they settled. “Why now?”
“Because nobody can be perfect,” Kokiri said. “Not even you.”
Prince looked like he was tempted to hit him, but Chief came to check on him before he had the chance.
