Pokémon TCG Pocket Trading Changes

Pokémon TCG Pocket Announces Major Changes to Trading System
Earlier this year, The Pokémon Company introduced a long-awaited trading feature for Pokémon TCG Pocket, allowing players to trade cards with one another. However, the new system quickly faced backlash from the community, with many players expressing frustration over its complexity and inconvenience. The most notable issue was the introduction of the Trade Token currency, which players found cumbersome and restrictive. In response to this feedback, The Pokémon Company has announced major changes to the trading system, aiming to make it more user-friendly and aligned with players’ needs. These changes will be part of an update planned for Autumn 2025. Key Changes to the Trading System: - Removal of Trade Tokens: One of the biggest complaints was the use of Trade Tokens, which players had to earn or purchase in order to participate in trades. The company has listened to the feedback and will be removing this feature entirely. Instead, the existing Shinedust currency will be used for trades, simplifying the process and eliminating the need for a separate trading currency. - Improved Card Sharing: Players will now be able to share a list of the cards they wish to trade ahead of time, making it easier to connect with others who have what they need. This change is expected to streamline the trading process, allowing players to more effectively find suitable trade partners without the hassle of searching through numerous unwanted cards. These changes aim to address the core issues that players have raised, specifically making trading more accessible and less frustrating. While the removal of Trade Tokens and the introduction of easier card sharing are significant improvements, it remains to be seen how well these adjustments will be received by the broader community. What’s Next? The updates are scheduled for release in Autumn 2025, so players will need to wait a little while before experiencing the improvements. In the meantime, The Pokémon Company has encouraged players to continue providing feedback to ensure the system can be further refined. Read the full article

discovery: tcgpocket damage seems to cap at 990. That’s the highest I could get it even using an attack that should have done 1050.
in related news, it seems that the turn limit is 50 turns.
have not found a limit for energy, though the highest I’ve equipped on one pokemon is 22. if I had been smarter with playing I could have made it 23 though. I think based off turn amount the highest possible is probably 25 (since I used an energy on another pokemon, which theoretically wasn’t necessary but I like being able to use promo jigglypuff as a stall and also went first rather than second).
(note I am definitely not the first person to discover this but I just am noting this because it’s something I found out via testing that’s interesting)
#promo jigglypuff is not really necessary tbh since if you get Rattata as your opponents active spot you can just heal all damage dealt with#Butterfree each turn. BUT I do like the extra insurance of the sleep turns.#will note reccomend trying this out against the wartortle step up deck specifically#there’s pretty much only weak normal types + water types in there but the ai will be too scared to use it’s (typically stronger) water type#with how many grass types you have#since my formation was just Caterpie line + Snivy line + Celebi EX (and aforementioned promo jigglypuff)#dramon thoughts
