18.) what aspect of the story would get you #canceled on twitter?

this is a toughie is the thing. while im not one of those creators thats terrified of being offensive or problematic, i also dont pay that much attention to elements of work that might offend. im more interested in being genuine and trusting my message rather than relishing in having #problematique content.

that being said i think a lot of people would not like that sicely isnt a g*ld st*r lesbian or that lucerne doesnt use labels, bc twitter is really hung up on what characters "really" are or what stories "really" mean.

i think theyd also do that thing where theyd be like ugh look at these children currently in abusive situations why are they not acting 100% perfectly, the author clearly has no idea what theyre doing with portraying abuse, this is just torture porn and fetishizing ptsd/osddid. bc theres no way that the things that happen in CW could ever happen to people, bc abuse happens to other people and never in anything i might have to interact with.

20.) your ocverse just got a movie trilogy a la hunger games style. how have they horribly mangled your message/theme so that the movies are now a showcase of what the original was condemning?

This ones also a toughie actually bc a large part in why the hunger games movies contributed to showcasing what the original work condemned is because the media circus and bloodsports as vapid entertainment were directly being condemned in the original and #Media isnt really a huge part of carousel waltz. i think in order to really turn carousel waltz on its head youd have to be simultaneously very victim-blamey to the children but also prop up the adults as the ones who must "save them", bc children cant do anything on their own and cant be trusted to have legitimate grievances with the adults in their lives. flattening midas into either a villain who never cared about the people he abused or apologizing for him as a well-meaning patriarch who was just led astray and by proxy flattening the abuse into depictions more palatable to the wider consumer audience would do it i think.

but i dont know if it being a movie trilogy would necessarily cause those changes to occur-- movies are visual and sequential like comics but usually have to be 2 hours or less and are overwhelmingly held hostage at the whims of distributors, executive boards, investors, etc. so the influences it would have over carousel waltz would be along those lines. i think that with the time crunch it'd probably be really easy to make the story less subtle, and to have to hammer home points. certain characters necessarily would not have as much screentime and focus in a movie trilogy, which i think WOULD contribute to being an example of what im trying to condemn, and a movie might inadvertently say that some abused children are just collateral damage and we can move past them, some abused children dont have interiority or anything to draw attention to them, some abused children are more important or worth rescuing more. its also very important to me that most of the carousel waltz kids r not white, and that the grownups are, but casting would probably whitewash them or try to make the story colorblind instead of keeping in how midas' abuse takes advantage of his identity of whiteness over them. combine this w the idea that there needs to be adults to save these kids and u get a white savior araceli. if this concept makes you want to gnaw your leg off at the ankle to get the shackle off, that just means youre still human! try to hold onto that feeling.

since magical girl isnt a big genre in the west theyd try to reflavor it as some other thing like superheroes or a dnd party or something. or theyd want to age up the kids so the bad things happen to a more acceptable age group bc the idea that kids might have bad things happen to them is a scary thought so theyd completely miss the point abt it being a story abt child abuse and now its a buncha late teens-early 20s bullshit.

im actually debating how much swearing i want in carousel waltz (it was really hard writing guardians dilemma without zizi swearing) but executives would only let me have one fuck and would not let anthea call anyone a cocksucker :(

RENO STEELE — best caravan player that ever lived, small time swindler and all around trouble maker hailing from the fictional town of gecko springs. he’s quite a hit with anyone he hasn’t pissed off over years and is in a ‘sharing is caring’ relationship with his best friend, richard, and @queennymeria ‘s, soledad. And RICHARD STEELE — is the resident and community appointed sheriff of gecko springs. he only got the job because he and reno were successful in chasing the things off almost indefinitely.

RIAN MCCORMICK — the most useless and hottest dilf the apocalypse has ever seen. he constantly screws up and somehow always survives by the skin of his teeth (and by sheer dumb luck). he and @queennymeria ‘s, mari cross, had a FWB thing going on after she saves him from the brink of death but … feelings and egos got in the way and before they knew it she was hiding something from him and he had gone off on a suicide mission to see if jackson was a real. Fast forward nearly a year later and they’re reunited, he finds out he has a kid (they very quickly have another one 😑) AND gains a new enemy in tommy miller. he’s done well for himself, all things considered, but it hasn’t been without major, life altering obstacles.

OPHELIA COHEN — my midnight m** baby 💚 she’s an author, divorced three times, dog mom with major trauma and clairvoyant. during a depressive episode (and to get away from her third EX husband) in boston, she found a listing for a house for rent on crockett island and booked it for at least a month. in the midst of all THAT SHIT ™ she ends up meeting a priest, @queennymeria ‘s dana, and the two confide in one another and end up falling for each other 💞

VIANNA SALVATORE — she’s a socialite and former heiress to a cyberware company (mom used to be a pretty relevant pop sensation in NC) she’s very uninvolved with the actual game, if we’re being honest! she ends up going on the run after she gives the maelstroms off market and prototype cyberware in order to get her best friend out of debt with them. the guy (her late father’s bestie) who took over her the company finds out and he’s up snitching to their parent company and she’s forced to go on the run from both the gang and the corporate feds. she’s lucky enough to have crossed paths with jackie at one point or another as he helps her out and she ends up becoming misty’s roommate / new best friend while she tries to navigate being BROKE and a slow burning relationship with @queennymeria ‘s jamie valentino. she also learns that her dad isn’t actually dead and that sends her down a huge rabbit hole 💀

VANESSA LENNOX — my main ‘V’. her mother is a gang leader still operating in NC, her older sister works as hired muscle and she herself was an enforcer / hit woman for her before her departure several years before the game starts.

they first started making music together in 2006 and released "we are your friends", a remix of "never be alone" by simian, and went on to release "waters of nazareth" - which was included on their debut album "†" in 2007!!!

after that they've released two other albums, "Audio, Video, Disco." in 2012 and "Woman" in 2016!! they've done live albums too but. i don't know all that much about them jwheebhshehshr

ANYWAYS they're coming back with an album & tour next year so im really really really really really really excited about it!!!!!!

6. episode of tv or webisode that defined your year? OHHHH hmmm i really have to think… i rewatched the pilot of leverage this year, and my year was definitely bonding with people as i bumble through the dark slowly gaining my footing, so maybe the leverage pilot? :0

Describe one uhh lemme think 0-0 OKAY I JUST CHECKED and i created nameerah dharii this year!! she's a jedi master, a mirialan and the master of my oc aya :D she's a badass middle eastern grandma (loosely inspired by my favorite overwatch character 😔). she has a very wry sense of humor, she's very wise and kind, though she used to have quite the anger problem when she was younger. also, like most of my ocs, she is bisexual 😌

8. game of the year? def totk even though i haven't finished it SHDKDJE it's the one ive put the most time in!! i haven't done a whole lot of gaming this year but i am enjoying totk while i wait for silksong

👻 ghost: can you tease some wip ideas that have been haunting you/something you want to write in the future?

Okay so my whole thing is that I have chronic and continuous brainrot in regards to Ares and Viktor. Specifically their time together. Which means, while yes, Ares is dead in the main WIP, I do have so many notes about their time together. They are the OTP of all of my OC ships.

Basically their whole history and their intersections with Leo from Sacrificial Lamb as well as Julius. Just the Cardinals in general have been itching at me very much. Like they were basically their own little found family of sorts who were super protective of each other who had a terrible fallout after their Captain dies.

Similarly, I have ideas for the three ex-military men as well as Ophelia who is more of player in Leo's storyline (they're the one m/f ship that I really do enjoy). Which involves Cato coming back from the dead to go home, Julius dealing with the fact that Cato comes back wrong and the three trying to fix their relationship again. Which then brings up another WIP.

Namely, the existence of Lucas Liu who's a detective who has his storyline in parallel to Viktor's. Also is the one who actually gets Leo to open up again after Sacrificial Lamb. Which also means that Sebastian and Orion are also a thing, specifically Lucas is trying to catch Sebastian to prove himself while dragging Leo around for the ride. That means Sebastian's whole crew also exists and they have their own story.

So... you can see that I have many WIPs who grow on top of each other... There is just, so much to explore in the universe (mainly the city itself) which doesn't even include the ones that happen outside of the city itself. Such as my professor/student ship (Yang Fu and Hugo Wright) that happens a couple hours outside of the main city so they aren't even impacted too much by the happenings.

And there's the most disjointed little story I have about an obsessed artist (a director) and his muse who are off doing their own things. Riley and Jules are busy trying to learn how to communicate through the arts while shit is hitting the fan around them.

Weylyn: So much reassurance and giving you space. He helps you do breathing excercises with him and some isometric ones.

Fleur: Makes a calming area for you, but if she can't do that, she'll take you somewhere more quiet and calmer. Communicative the whole time, and gives you space.

Zephyrine: Will let you hug her if you need to, if not she'll wrap you in a weighted blanket. Gives you fidget toys and soft blankets to calm yourself with.

Eliseo: Lots of breathing excercises and reassurances. Gives you a hand massager to help you calm down, and bear hugs if you want.

Cooper: Gives you a stress ball and fidget toys to let out your frsutration, and offers up a soft blanket for you to wrap yourself in. Lots of reassurances.

Ophelia: Tries her very best to be communicative and calm before she gets too overwhelmed, and wraps you up in a weighted blanket and a soft one.
