all the stuff u wrote abt regarding writing was extremely relatable. i think maybe something that could help is looking at it through a diff lens

like your fics aren’t a service to other people, they are an outlet for YOU. you’re the one with the pen, and you’re simply making them public for others to enjoy, and we absolutely enjoy them!

but i also believe that authenticity will get you further than you think it will. if ur doing this for urself and we’re simply along for the ride then there’s no need for any appeasement. (i also think that you have enough of an audience as to where people would still appreciate a trope if you wrote it even if they didn’t think they would like the trope itself)

like why are these two dudes fucking? because i feel like it! why did this person react a certain way? because i feel like it!

i know that i personally tend to prefer fics that focus more on “what’s this specific writer’s lens on these characters? how they would react in this situation?” rather than “what can i do to make this more palatable for a wider audience?”

anyways yea theres my two cents and i love ur writing. i hope u can get to a point where u enjoy doing it again. and if u don’t, i would much rather have u not write than write something u resent :)

p.s. i would absolutely read an “alternate” chapter 4 fic with bottom dream :3
