Crossover that is stewing away in my head

So I got duel links recently and have not stopped playing it since (I’m almost to level 17 in the 5ds area because it’s my favorite and I desperately want the synchro aromage monster((she is very cute)).

I was thinking about how cool it was that signer dragons effects paralleled their user and at that same time I had fire emblem three houses brain rot, I still do but i thought of Team 5ds and which houses they’d go into.

EXTREMELY LONG POST AHEAD (I’m so sorry)

Yusei: Blue Lions

He seems like he’d fit in so well in the class, personality wise, he’s quiet but he’s incredibly smart with a pretty good eye for strategy. He’s extremely kindhearted and loyal to the point where it’s unhealthy and damaging to himself, I feel like Yusei could easily get along with someone like Dimitri because of that.

Unit Class: Holy Knight

Other than the fact that I found it necessary for him to be some kind of mount because of the whole concept of 5ds revolving around the d-wheels, I thought that faith magic was a good fit for him. Going back to the signer dragon’s effects, Victim’s Sanctuary could translate into a once-per-battle spell where Yusei’s able to heal every ally on the map up a high amount but it takes a very heavy toll on him, something like taking a turn or two where he has to “recharge” and is unable to move or attack for two straight turns. It’s something of a last resort to turn to when the battle starts to look dire. He also has access to healing magic to keep his allies and those he holds dear safe. Although he’s someone who is mostly a magic user, he isn’t as good at it as Mercedes or Annette. I’d place him at around Sylvain’s level, better than average but not exceptional at it. At close range I feel like he’d be good with a lance or a bow, both keep him at a decent distance but close enough to the action where he can keep an eye on his allies.

Jack: Black Eagles

He’s arrogant and prideful but is extremely passionate about the people closest to him. Because of this, he’s extremely willing to fight for what he believes in, either with words or fists. If he were to meet Edelgard and she told him about her reasons for wanting to take down the church of seiros, he might be empathetic towards her cause and even might join in.

Unit Class: Great Knight or War Master

I couldn’t decide if I wanted to keep the theme of team 5ds all having their own mounts because, as funny and fitting as I found it, it’s pretty restrictive in the long run. Red Dragon Archfiend’s attack points being the highest out of the signer dragons and it’s effect destroying all monster that hadn’t attacked made me think of Jack being a class that is more reliant on physical attack instead of any sort of magic. I’m leaning more towards War Master because of their high crit rate, usually high strength growths and god awful resistance. Jack himself is pretty reckless but incredibly strong, whether that be physically or emotionally, also adding to Jack being one of those units that hit like an 18-wheeler on the odd occasion that he actually lands a hit. Also!! Like how Yusei has his own spell, I think giving Jack a combat art named after one of his dragon’s attack names would be more fitting. Absolute Powerforce (very metal name) being a better smash that has a base 50% crit rate that gets added to Jack’s own personal rate but it’s also a one- time-use art and it gets Dimitri’s crest side effect of doubling the weapon cost just to balance it out (slightly lmao).

Crow: Golden Deer

Crow is the group’s mama bird, he’s also laid back but is an extremely hard worker. He also has something that the rest of the members don’t have: common sense. I feel like he and Claude would get along really well, both with being laid back and on a deeper level considering they both have faced some kind of oppression in their pasts. I just feel like they’d be besties y’know. Plus crow already has experience with dealing with a rowdy group.

Unit Class: Wyvern Lord

Self-explanatory, he’s the bird guy with the motorcycle that has the wings attached, OF COURSE he’s in the air!! Crow is also very crafty and cunning when he needs to be, especially when it comes down to protecting his friends or getting them what they need. I can’t explain it, but I feel like Crow would be a sword user. Light enough for him to still be agile while also being good at landing hits. He’d have high dexterity but he’d struggle with landing hard hits but he’s fast and very good at denting enemies. I had no idea what Black-Winged Dragon’s effect was until today but I think that a combat art called “Shadow Squall Blast” that slightly boosts his attack and he gains around 50% of the damage that he lands on the enemy, it also lowers the strength and defense of enemies within a small range. I think that it’s somewhat fitting both for Crow’s personality and his monster’s effect.

Aki: Ashen Wolves

At first, I thought about placing Aki and Jack in the Black Eagles but I remembered that there was a fourth class and the more that I thought about it, I figured that Aki would be a very good fit in there. The whole idea that the Ashen Wolves house being for those shunned by people above reminded me of the Arcadia Movement and how Aki only wanted to be accepted by anyone, the people in abyss find solace in their solitude. Aki and Yuri might butt heads from time to time but I feel like she and Hapi could bond over their unwanted powers.

Originally, I thought that Valkyrie would be more fitting but Dark Flier stands out as a class that is extremely good at magic and with Aki’s abilities as a psychic duelist, she’d be extremely adept at using magic. She also uses Black Magic, much like Hapi but she does have some physical strength, using a lance to attack her enemies, it’s far enough to keep a safe distance from enemies but close enough to land a hit if necessary. Her special spell, “Black Rose Gale” is a spell with 2 uses, probably something that takes 50% of the hp of the enemies within a large range or an AOE attack where the enemies that are left with a poison effect. She’s the best and strongest magic user out of the four of them, her resistance is pretty good too but her physical strength and defense is okay at best.

Soo, ive done all routes except Angie (im gonna do it later) and i wanted to talk about it so sorry for being annoying😭

I've got two Bela endings, one was happy lovey traveled lets save the fam and all that. Loved the story, mia trying to kill me was so not a girl girls move. The other ending I didn't support her and went to Miranda (snitch? yes but mira liked it so...), sad part was that bela got sent to a hospital (i hope???) but fun to see the difference. Bela was a mean girl but with reasons (no heart lol) so i didnt click with the romance because i like the evilness with conscious.

I got two alcinas ending too, talked about the "happy" one before and im still upset dani got mad for me dating her mother, i really value friendships ( also mira died?????) Soo i tried a different ending without romancing her, i guess i questioned too much because guess who got turned into a sculpture🤪 (also how will mira recover my body to start it all over again? girlie is gonna have a hard time).

I got one Cassandra ending and one Dani ending, both were happy. I liked Cass more because it felt more like paths i would take in my life. However character wise i loved how both were written, Dani was so adorable i wanted to hug her forever and giver her all the praise (lets be fr her family was not doing it).

And to finish, the loves of my life Donna and Miranda. Both of their stories made me all aaaaaaaaaaa, ive loved them since re8 and it captured the image i had of them perfectly. I've played both twice and got a happy ending i simply cant not love them. It was so cool to see the foreshadowing in Donna's story, when she said Miranda was going to keep her in a tighter leash next time i was like 🤨😲😔.

I know Miranda is evil and that apparently shes keeping everyone in a loop until she gets us to be with her, but thats lowkey so sweet😍

Anywayy, loved everything, the characters were amazingly written, i also kept trying to decode the background to see if there was anything secret (blame flanagan), their expressions was so on point it was awesome to stare at it changing.

You all deserve every love and praise that exists in this world, tysm for putting this together, i really dont know how to thank you enough so that u understand how good all of this is (hence all of the asks ive sent istg sorry again😬)

Okay I was spoiled beforehand, so i already knew the final choice is ‘save the world or save Niko’ from the point I set foot in the library. And I was very certain of my choice but the game still made me doubt it a hundred times over, DEAR GOD

Mostly the ‘reality game’ aspects of this thing have just been annoying to me. It gets in the way of the story a lot, and doesnt really... do anything? It feels like its ONLY there for the ‘wow how did they do that’ factor, I guess. But it just gets obnoxious and seriously its never actually made me ‘paranoid’ or anything, and if it DID then that isnt a good thing! I don’t get it... But yeah, its just mostly annoying having to search thru the game files every five seconds in order to solve the next puzzle, rather than it actually being IN THE GAME. And its annoying cos sometimes they don’t even TELL you that you need to look outside the game for the answer! There’s so much backtracking and pixel-hunting already, you didnt need to make me do it for no reason when you put the answer replacing my desktop all along, or whatever. And I just imagine how unplayable it would be for someone who’s computer isnt capable of doing all this stuff. like if they had an antivirus that blocks it, or a really old computer that lags out or crashes when it happens. Plus its SO STUPID that the ENTIRE POINT OF THE NAME OF THE GAME comes from a stupid trick it pulls on you in the ending. It tells you you only had one shot and you can’t play again, but then there ACTUALLY IS A NEW GAME PLUS and you CANT GET THE FULL ENDING WITHOUT IT. You HAVE to delete your save data from the files in order to PROGRESS THE GAME. I just... I just feel SO BAD for any players who go fooled by this or just didnt have enough meta sense to grasp some of these puzzles without a guide. Its like a ‘you must be this smart at random programming bullshit to progress’ barrier... So yeah this is the one game in all of time that I most reccommend using a guide for! I tried my best to do it without one but I missed a whole bunch of achievements and shit because of it. I guess at least that makes the newgame plus a little more fun, even if I’m still not exactly happy I have to do all these bullshit puzzles TWICE MORE to get the true ending... gahhhHHH

the ONE time the dumb meta puzzle bullshit was actually good and actually enhanced the story IS THE ENDING

The final puzzle has you running a second ‘decoder program’ from the game’s file directory (yeah, bullshit, IKR?) and it does actually have some creative puzzles of holding the image over the game window to reveal the right way to go. But more importantly, it does it in a very creative way! All the hints are pages torn from the Author’s journal, and you kinda have your first and last conversation with him via these. And he tells you about the sadistic choice you now have to make, and apologizes... :(

Also its very good meta that the Entity tries to interfere with you during this section. Usually there’s no damn reason for the stupid super hard meta puzzles, this time there IS a reason! In-universe, its supposed to be that the Entity has removed your ability to interact with the game normally, so you can ONLY solve this last puzzle by fiddling with the files. Its really really upsetting to see Niko being fooled by the Entity and there’s no way to talk to them, they think you left when its really some asshole depressed computer god that kicked you out! GAHHH!! But also i feel a lot of sympathy for the Entity cos the Author says they’re trying to destroy the world because they have no other way to kill themself. And the nature of the Entity is still left completely unexplained in this ending, which is why it SUCKS that the game tries to trick you into thinking there isnt a newgame plus! But it seems the entity might be like... an artificial god? With their powers they’re clearly more of a god than the player could ever be, but they talk like they’re one of the ‘tamed’ robots we’ve been seeing for the whole game. I’M REALLY REALLY CURIOUS ABOUT THIS TRUE ENDING, DAMMIT

Anyway... aaa... I picked to save the world instead of Niko. And I feel like COMPLETE SHIT! HOORAY! But like.. god.. I know that it would not be morally defensible to kill hundreds of strangers just to save one child I’ve grown to love so dearly. I’ve always got mad when characters in videogames choose to doom the world just to save their best friend, but this game really makes me feel just how hard that choice is to make! My only criticism is that maybe it wasnt as hard as it COULD have been, since you do meet a bunch of huggable characters throughout the game that you’ll love just as much as Niko. It was a decision that couldnt be made by any form of proper logic, so I just boiled it down to a stupid emotionless profit/loss analysis. I can cry over losing one person, or losing the dozens of others I also met, AND a whole world of strangers! Either way I cry equally as much! AAAARGH!! I JUST COULDNT STOP THINKING OF MR LAMPLIGHTER AND THE UNNAMED PANCAKE CAFE PERSON AND THE PROPHETBOT AND KIP AND SILVER AND THE BIRD FAMILY AND THE CAT HUGS ALLEYWAY ROBOT AND ALL THE OTHER CHARMING ROBOTS AND THE TINY LITTLE PHOSPHOR SHRIMP AND THE ROOMBA!!!!!!!!!! GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH But at least I was able to get some pancakes for Niko, and be honest with them about what was happening, and say goodbye. And at least in this ending nobody dies, its just that Niko can’t ever go home again so its equally as sad as if they died. And i can’t even talk to them ever again to comfort them!! GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH But like.. its mildly more optimistic than the alternative, I guess. Cos you get to see a montage of everyone else you ever met seeing the sun come back and crying. AND EVEN TINY BABY PLANT SPIRIT CAME BACK TO LIFE BECAUSE OF MY SIDEQUEST FINISHING POWERS I can feel like maybe Niko would be able to make a new life there, even if they’d always miss their momma and probably resent me for it... *sigh* its still better than 400+ other people not even getting the chance to make a new life, JUST so one mom and their kid can be happy but still it hurts dear god making the ‘right decision’ doesnt matter when it still hurts both decisions would be wrong to someone...

at least I didnt cry as much as I could have, cos I knew in advance that there’s a newgame plus and a true ending i dunno if the true ending is happier or sadder tho but DEAR GOD i would have been SO pissed off if i fell for the game’s stupid trick and never found the newgame plus and this was just THE END FOREVER fuk u developers u aint so clever *waving middle fingers as i descend into a quicksand of tears* god im not even emotionally okay enough to start playing again now i know i have to play two more times aaaaa and I have to see the other bad ending too aaaaaaaa and i have to walk through everywhere again now with the knowledge of how it ends AND the newgame plus has added dialogues and stuff just to rub it in aaaaaaaaaaa god i dont know whether to congratulate the developer or be REALLY ANGRY at them god just fuck me up AAAAAAAAAAA i am not a god, please stop giving me the responsibilities of a god please can anyone else decide who lives and dies please can niko hug their mom again without everyone else losing their moms in order to do it AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA this game.
