CUTTLEFISH OH MY GOD FIRST OF ALL THEY ARE KIND OF CUTE NO? WHEN THEYRE BORN THEYRE SO TINY AND ADORABLE AND I WANT TO PICK IT UP AND LET IT BLOOP AROUND MY HANDS.

The cuttlefish bone is very high in calcium and apparently a great exercise toy for birds, I don't imagine they're doing deadlifts with the bone but they're exercising with it. The bone is filled with gas and helps with buoyancy. I should get some water and I don't have any snacks😭 I had a somewhat big dinner tho☺️

They've got a flouncy skirt to help them flow through the water and I just think it's adorable. They also use this siphon that shoots water to propel themselves. Their eye is a wavy W shape to help them see through the scattered light in their environment and hunt for prey. Although they are colorblind, they can blend into their environment very well. Their skin cells is chromatophores so each cell can change a different color depending on it's surrounding to camouflage itself, but also change it's appearance to look smooth or with spikes. And it's instantaneous! Their skin can also glow and radiate like a pulsating light, especially when they are mating. WHICH ON THE TOPIC OF MATING, males will grab the face of a female cuttlefish with it's tentacles. Males have a tentacle that they will insert into the females opening near her mouth and release sperm sacks into it. Males have 4 pairs of tentacles and females have 3, I'm not trying to rob the video of it's wording but it's the best way I can describe it lol, a male will distract the other males by tucking in a pair of it's tentacles and act as a female to draw away the competition from the female and come back. Their beaks are poisonous and looks like a bird's beak so that's pretty cool. They also look really worried and suspicious all the time and I feel that to my CORE.

I think my favorite part about them is their skin and how each cell can change colors and their appearance do quickly☺️
