Note
Helloo! Can i have kim dokja x reader where its like reader and yjh at first hate each other but over time they start getting close (slight yjh x reader if you want) and dokja starts seeing them being close and gets jealous (i love dokja being jelly)
(sorry its a bit hard to read😓 have a great day and stay hydrated !)
Yall love jealous kim dokja goddamn
Jealous Kim Dokja x reader
Platonic Yoo Joonghyuk x reader (like a sibling dynamic)
heres some father son time with kdj and gilyoung (wingman!!)
Im sorry btw if you think it's short, i struggle with writing long stories 😭😭😭
When Dokja first told you about the novel he was reading, you felt bad for the main character. But jeez...meeting him in real life? Man you just wanted to curse him out!
During one of the scenarios, you had all split up, pulling sticks to see who'd get paired with who, and you just happened to be paired with Joonghyuk. As you both walk around, an elderly lady walked up and offered some food. After evaluating it, you decided it was safe.
"We don't n-" Before he could finish, you kicked the back of his knee and made him kneel, pushing his head down.
"Thank you granny!" You smiled at the lady, "I'm also so sorry for his actions, you see, he escaped from a mental institute-"
Before you could finish your lie, he covered your mouth, the grandma laughing and walking away, talking about her youthful days.
"Seriously? Mental institute? Please, as if." He scoffed.
"Yeah you probably escaped." You laughed, before running off as he chased you with his sword.
Running around, you found your beloved dokja, and leapt into his arms like a princess.
"Dokja! Your companion is trying to kill me!" You laughed at the fuming Joonghyuk, pointing at him.
A string of jealousy tugged at Dokja's heart, his mind wandering off to what a cute one on one time you two would have had...
-
After settling down, you, dokja, joonghyuk, and gilyoung decided to walk together.
As you all turned a corner, a grotesque monster popped up out of nowhere.
With your heightened blood pressure, you kicked joonghyuk forward, shouting, "Take him!"
Of course someone like him faced no difficulty cutting down the monster, but it did end up with you two bickering and fighting. Man...you two had to be long lost twins at this point...
-
Although dokja didn't notice it, gilyoung definitely did.
"Are you jealous?" He asked dokja.
"Wha..what? No!" Dokja waved his hands in the air.
"Yes you are...You frown everytime you look at that bastard," He nods in approval, "It's okay ajussi, me too, me too. He's wasting [name]'s precious time!"
So, the cooked up a plan.
A trap was set up, in which they titled it, 'Bastard Trap.'
Both you and joonghyuk were too engrossed in fighting each other and bickering that you both didn't realize the trap. As the two of you walked behind, you blinked, and joonghyuk was gone??
On the other hand, joonghyuk blinked and he was suddenly flung into the air, far away.
You shrugged it off, this basically meant you win...the gods were really looking out for you...! You wept a silent tear.
Gilyoung too initative, grabbing your hand and dokja's smiling and dragging you about.
"This is nice, right?" He spoke, grinning ear to ear.
You laughed, "Sure is!"
Mission accomplished!
Dokja smiled at your reaction, you really were the perfect woman. His jealousy was gone now (in which said jealousy found himself in an alleyway)
He would do this again in a heartbeat.

I never meant to fall into this fandom, but seeing these really stunning pieces of characters in trench coats and got supremely curious. It took approximately two days to fall ass over teakettle into OMNISCIENT READER'S VIEWPOINT hell, because it has absolutely fascinating characters, interesting worldbuilding, a beautifully drawn webtoon, thoughtful plot elements on the nature of stories and the relationship with the audience and--most importantly--it has the kind of character dynamics you immediately want fic. I'm barely past chapter 40 and I was already spoiling myself for the overarching plot because I desperately needed post-canon fic that offered resolution, because everything was already so deliciously intense that I couldn't stand it! So, here I am, having a bunch of knock-out fic to go with the absolute god-tier art that's in the fandom and desperately trying to drag more of you into this with me because it's so good and I think you'd like it and I don't want to be throwing up feelings everywhere and not have you all understand how much these characters mean to me (especially the main character, he is such a skrunkly little asshole whomst I would die for!!!!) even after just forty chapters! Joinnnnn meeeee!!! (p.s. This is primarily a Joongdok recs set, but give me time and I'll love all the characters!)
OMNISCIENT READER'S VIEWPOINT - POST-CANON IS WHAT I'M REALLY HERE FOR: ✦ [Message from the Universe: Kim Dokja Must Die] by jarofclay, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja & kdj company, NSFW, post-canon spoilers, 27.2k     Six months after returning to his original world-line, Kim Dokja almost dies (again). A tragicomedic Final Destination-esque story featuring one dreamer in distress, his personal hero and his rightfully anxious family. ✦ world's end rhapsody by wakerife, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja & han sooyoung & kdj company, post-canon spoilers, 11.6k     another post-epilogue fic, wherein kim dokja may or may not need a bigger hospital bed ✦ Unburying Kim Dokja by stingerra, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja & kdj company, post-canon spoilers, 21.3k     Kim Dokja is back and left to ponder such things like fitting in and making amends. None of this proves easy. He was dead for too long and it's common knowledge that resurrection is a lengthy process. Especially because Kim Dokja was someone who buried himself at the age of 15 and didn't hope for anyone to care. ✦ “You are loved,” said Yoo Jonghyuk. “This is a threat,” said Yoo Jonghyuk. by IceBreeze, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja & han sooyoung & kdj company, post-canon spoilers, 13.3k     Kim Dokja doesn't really know when he began collecting time travellers like stray cats but it's not so bad, he guesses. He just wishes there was less crying. ✦ show me proof you hear my sound by grdenofavalon, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja & kdj company, post-canon spoilers, 30k     Kim Dokja has two goals in his life: figure out why he can't recall anything from before that "apocalypse" everyone and their dog is traumatized from, and finally finish the renovations on his newly (if six years old could still be "new") purchased book-and-breakfast cafe. It's... a work in progress. But now he has a third goal — find out what Yoo "former-terrorist-turned-civil-worker" Joonghyuk wants from his life. Or maybe he just wants his life, to end it himself. Kim Dokja is starting to think that might be the case. ✦ The End Of A Story by mellllting, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja & kdj compnay, NSFW, post-canon spoilers, 22.8k     Kim Dokja wakes up, and the most shocking part of all that has happened was probably finding out that Yoo Joonghyuk loves him. ✦ white house, white rock by beforedaybreaks, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja & kdj compnay, post-canon spoilers, 12.1k     “Big family?” the grocery store clerk asks, as he makes his way to the front of the checkout line. The clerk motions toward Kim Dokja’s baskets. Kim Dokja laughs as he loads the ingredients onto the conveyer belt. “I guess you could say that.” After the Scenarios, Kim Dokja moves into a big house with everyone.
✦ unwind the world, is your nightmare gone? by Scribblurri, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja & kdj compnay, post-canon spoilers, 9.9k     He learns of lots of things that these people say his older self has experienced in the apocalypse: kindness, companionship, strength, family, love, sacrifice; all things they say the older him has provided to them. (He's not sure he believes it.) ✦ Revelation by 1864_9158, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja & kdj compnay, post-canon spoilers, 2.1k     Kim Dokja realizes he's in love with Yoo Jonghyuk a month after he wakes up. Post-Canon ✦ Will you share your soul with me? (Unzip your skin and let me have a see) by Maru_Chan, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja & kdj compnay, NSFW, post-canon spoilers, 19.9k     Noticing my gaze, Yoo Joonghyuk looked up from where he was polishing his sword. “Kim Dokja, what do you want?" My eyes shifted back to the System Notification I had been making a valiant effort to ignore ever since it had appeared a few minutes ago. [I w■■t to b■■■ him ■■ half a■d ■■■■ him wi■■■ an inch ■f h■s ■■fe] Uhh... (Or: KDJ might read both books and minds, but he can't read the room to save his life.) ✦ you used to be my satellite by Karelyon, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja & kdj company, post-canon spoilers, 3.4k     Yoo Joonghyuk in his first regression, with all his memories from the 0th round, meets one Kim Dokja. ✦ The Scars of Dreaming by Gotcocomilk, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja & kdj company, post-canon spoilers, 6.5k     Or: two dreamers speak. Neither are monsters. ✦ today's prophecy: you will receive love (this is inevitable) by kdj_225, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja & kdj company, post-canon spoilers, 2.6k     “Kim Dokja!” Han Sooyoung yells first. “What the hell is this, huh?!” “You’re asking me? I’m just as confused as you, Han Sooyoung.” “This is related to you, this—huh?” It seems she hadn’t fully read the status window before she barged into his room. Her eyes, initially squinted, turn wide when they read through the lit-up words on the floating window. With a growing smirk, she teases, “A kiss? You wanted a kiss?” ✦ the false last act by younglegends, kdj company, post-canon spoilers, 8.6k     Living in a big house with everyone was convenient, most of the time. But there were other things that couldn’t be avoided. Or: The end. ✦ Pretty Fool by jokebear, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja, post-canon spoilers, 1.4k     Kim Dokja is pretty. That was the undeniable, factual, and conclusive verdict Yoo Joonghyuk had reached after days of gazing at the other man. ✦ missing person report by lorilanda, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja & kdj company, post-canon spoilers, 9.7k     Kim Dokja opens his arms. "Okay, okay." He takes a deep breath. "Okay. C'mere. Give me a hug." To his absolute horror, Yoo Joonghyuk actually does. Kim Dokja returns. ✦ you made a deal, you traded daffodils for a kingdom of ash and bone by venividivici, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja & kdj company, post-canon spoilers, 21k     From infancy to adulthood, Kim Dokja has had a hard life. He copes.
OMNISCIENT READER'S VIEWPOINT - BUT I WILL HAPPILY TAKE MID-SCENARIOS FIC BECAUSE IT'S SUCH GOOD TROPE FODDER: ✦ Fire on Fire by alodienr, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja, NSFW, 2.7k     "What are you doing?" He hissed in pain and shock and confusion. Their faces were dangerously close. He could see golden under the dark irises in front of him. The kind of golden that was warm, intimidating, and seemed to want to devour Kim Dokja at the same time. Yoo Joonghyuk’s eyes glinted with longing, hunger and want. "Push me if you want me to stop." Yoo Joonghyuk stared right into Kim Dokja's eyes. There was a bit of gentleness in his tone. ✦ The Reader's Lost Hope by bobacrane, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja, read the tags, 5.2k     Yoo Jonghyuk is thrown into the past right when teenage Kim Dokja makes an attempt on his own life. He must learn about the past of his companion in order to return home. ✦ Taking Action to Contain a Hopeless Squid by gayboy_advance, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja, 1.2k     It started out innocent—just some minor actions to ensure the slippery man’s safety. Yoo Joonghyuk made sure to check on Kim Dokja every time before going to bed, specifically when the other was already sleeping soundly. He figured it would be less explaining if caught, as well as less likely that the man would up and leave once he had actually taken the time to fall asleep. Unfortunate or not, it was not enough to settle his worries as time progressed. ✦ proof of love by Maven_Fair, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja, NSFW, omegaverse, 3.6k     “Yoo Jonghyuk,” a low rumble, “bad touch,” a soft huff of breath, teeth scraping, “ooh - ah, bad touch,” a tongue, softly caressing that sensitive bundle so slowly that he just wanted him to bite already - “VERY BAD TOUCH, YOO JONGHYUK - ” An indignant bite is the only response he gets. ✦ i crave death by exocara, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja, NSFW, 2.2k     Kim Dokja would say that he had no idea how he got into this situation, but he would be lying. It wasn’t as if he wanted to be in this situation (except he did, it was his idea and he was the one who had to do the convincing) but Yoo Joonghyuk needed to be put in his place. Which was under him. Also with his dick up Kim Dokja’s ass, but that was neither here nor there. ✦ speak no evil by cvrely, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja, NSFW, 2.9k     The same hands that encircled his throat at their meeting, held the blade that pierced his body during the Demon King selection, now hold onto him as if afraid to let go—what defenses does he have against Yoo Joonghyuk when he’s like this? What defense does he have against Yoo Joonghyuk at all? ✦ My Star by TeaFlowers, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja & secretive plotter/kim dokja, NSFW, 3.6k     ⸢K im Dok ja th in ks: I wa nt him to cr ush me⸥ Shut up, I didn’t want this to happen. He weakly refuted. ⸢K im Dok ja is a li ar⸥ One of the Plotter’s gloved fingers tapped Kim Dokja’s cheek, bringing his attention back to him and his smug smile. The hand tilted Kim Dokja’s chin toward him as he murmured, “Thinking of others while I’m here? That’s not very polite of you Kim Dokja.” ✦ you got me starstruck by virotutis, yoo joonghyuk/kim doka & kdj company, 3.6k     Kim Dokja is a man who has rather clear priorities after his favorite novel comes to life—unfortunately for his companions, informing them about his former idol career is not one of them.
OMNISCIENT READER'S VIEWPOINT - AND THEN MAYBE SOMETIMES THEY DESERVE A HAPPY ALTERNATE UNIVERSE: ✦ the tidal pain of wanting by aryelee, yoo joonghyuk/dim dokja, omegaverse, alternate universe, 14.7k     “Kim Dokja.” The sound of his name makes his breath hitch. His eyes burn with oncoming tears. He hasn’t cried in front of another person in years. It’s mortifying. He doesn’t understand why the sound of his name from Yoo Joonghyuk’s mouth hurts him, why it hollows out the inside of his chest, why it aches with a loneliness he thought he got used to living with. “Kim Dokja, allow me to know you.” ✦ How To Be A Husband by cymbelione, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja & kdj company, 9.3k     Being a good best friend involves comforting your friends when they're sad, eating their unwanted vegetables and remembering their birthdays. Last time Kim Dokja checked, the description didn't include "pretending to marry them". He'd think that he would recall that part. ✦ you can't skip the tutorial by cvrely, yoo joonghyuk/kim dokja, royalty dating sim au, 4.1k     (Yoo Joonghyuk wakes up in a dating sim. It goes as well as expected.)

GOD YOUR ART ALWAYS SLAPS IT'S SO FUCKING GOOD particular shoutout to how you depicted the company holding kdj back from stabbing himself, the shakiness while he's completely sold really sells the disassociation and panic of it all. it's like i can hear that classic anime high ringing note as everything else drops away....man. and him kneeling while the company walks away...a lot of people 51% as almost serene, with the unlucky smile, but i enjoy your alternate interpretation of him desperate and afraid! 51% is all the parts of himself kdj thinks arent worth protecting! of course that includes his fear! man! god! im sorry this ask includes spoilers but MAN UR ART IS SO GOOD IM SO HAPPY YOU READ ORV CONGRATULATIONS WELCOME FULLY TO THE SUBWAY
HEHE I'M GLAD IT WORKED i really wanted to make the panic shine through hehe... (<- evil)
AW i didn't know that's how 51% is usually depicted! i wonder why. o would probably make the 49% more serene, the calmly gave up type of vibe? (well i already did but it'll take a bit for me to get to that sketch)
and isn't kim dokja at 51% terrified? staggering alone in the empty train, feeling the void in himself where the promise of happily ever after was? having to stop crying, to regulate his own breathing, trying to see still if he can at least leave the train carriage? letting go of the hands holding his wilfully? something something the kim dokja getting the happily ever after is never the kim dokja who is talking to us, it's the avatar, the oldest dream. even if there's no one else to receive the happy ending, he finds a way to say "that's not meant for me, sorry"? terrifying! sad!
thank you thank you... only took me an approptiate time (eternity) to get here- /dragged away/

Jung Heewon burst out, "Ah…I knew I was going to get cancer because of that uncle."

He pretended to be okay but perhaps the one with the most terrible trauma in this place was this child.

"Who are you? Don't you know that this area is our hunting ground?" In the faint light of the entrance, a girl holding a long sword stood.
>Jihyeeeeee. If she’s here then our buddy must be nearby
Lee Jihye, who was about to leave, turned her head at 'Yoo Joonghyuk'. There was vigilance in her eyes. "…Who are you?"
>she’s like…no way my master has friends so who tf are you
"I don't know. Master's friends?" At Lee Jihye's words, the eyes of the people on the platform became bigger. They looked at us with amazement and awe.
>LMFAO
"He is a good friend."
>Yall skipped first base and were straight up choking each other when you met the first time. Oh yeah i bet he’s a real good friend.
"…Yes. They are small forces, but the Landlord Association has obtained most of it."
>not the fucking land owners association we really can’t escape them anywhere
[The character 'Gong Pildu' demands 500 coins for invading his private land.]
>making a child pay rent typical land owner
In any case, I seemed to be the type that was popular with the bad guys. It was the same with Kim Namwoon.
>that checks out
Gong Pildu smiled like an ordinary neighborhood ahjussi, but I knew… Gong Pildu could never be an ordinary neighborhood ahjussi.
>real ones know no neighbourhood ahjushi is normal
"What is your relationship with Yoo Joonghyuk?" "We are companions separated by life and death."
>real good friends yes
"My best companion is coming."
>dokja your simp is showing
The main character, the lone hero of a drama, was walking by her side. He looked at me with impressively fierce eyes.
>DOKJA YOUR SIMP IS SHOWING
"Have you been well? Your face looks good?"
>flirting in front of everyone’s mother and my salad is this who we are
"Do you have anything to say?" Yoo Joonghyuk asked.
“You have the most luxurious hair and a face sculpted by Gods, truly if I could I would’ve already jumped-“
“I meant…about the scenarios.”
“OH yeah no I know enough, don’t worry.”
However, being cheeky isn't good. Should I just kill him now?
>God yjh would HATE being around middle schoolers. the child death rate would skyrocket
"What are you looking at?"
「······.」
Good job, Jung Heewon.
「 Kill… 」
"Yoo Joonghyuk."
>DOWN DAWG
"I have a lot to do." Yoo Joonghyuk stared at me quietly and said, "You will never understand."
>…about that 😭
"That jerk Yoo Joonghyuk." [The constellation 'Prisoner of the Golden Headband' is satisfied.] [100 coins have been sponsored.]
>Talks shit
100 coins sponsored!
"Ah, I hate thinking." Jung Heewon complained.
>relatable
"I don't want ahjussi to die. You were quite impressive against Master earlier."
"Don't worry, I won't die.”

Omniscient Reader Viewpoint: A Mother’s Burden
Summary: In which Lee Sookyung is a mother of identical twins who endures and endures, until one of the twins tells her she doesn’t have to anymore.
Note: Twins AU! What if Dokja had a twin brother who is from another world?
Male OC!
Also, this is like my favourite Manhwa and novel ever, still can’t believe I haven’t written anything for this yet. Besides, can we give some recognition to the side characters of ORV? They’re pretty awesome too.
Warning: Some spoilers beyond the current point in Manhwa for ORV! Contains domestic abuse and violence and cursing.
Tumblr media
"Kim Dokja and Kim Duri."
Lee Sookyung is happy to call the twins her children.
"Duri. You're such a quiet child. Unlike your younger brother and your father." She says, out of breath, but is nonetheless glad that at least one of the twins aren't bawling their eyes out.
She smiles and Duri smiles too, before the baby suddenly started crying. Surprised, she quickly rocks him gently in her arms.
"Aigoo, my child, why are you crying all the sudden?"
Wails escape his lips.
"Don't worry, mommy's here."
She reassures him gently and rubs her cheeks against him.
It was all she needed to do before the baby stopped and fell asleep.
She lets out a sign of relief before she asks the nurse to help her.
When she looks back at where her husband was at, he was no longer there.
Lee Sookyung swallows the bitterness in her mouth and endures and endures.
Unlike Kim Dokja, Kim Duri is a quiet, quiet child.
Lee Sookyung is worried.
Duri rarely cries, and although it does bring her less stress, she's worried about his development. His eyes seem too old for a baby boy, and he doesn't cry or whine or ask for her at all compared to Dokja and other children.
It's odd for a baby to look at her with such eyes.
Duri doesn’t make a sound, and never smiles after his birth.
To her husband, Duri was an abnormality, but not enough for him to care.
It's easy to forget Duri.
That thought frightens Lee Sookyung.
"Mom." When he calls her, she jumps, because he doesn't call her often like Kim Dokja. When he does, it is always something that a child normally wouldn't say.
"Why do you stay with him?" Kim Duri is an abnormally perceptive kid. It's her fault that he is acting older than he should be, worried about things he should not worry about.
"Are you talking about Dad?" She smiles as she kneels down. She's somewhat unsettled by the way he doesn't flinch, doesn't acknowledge her wording but simply stares, patiently waiting for her answer.
"Don't worry about it, Duri. Mom will handle it. Why don’t you go and play with Dokja?"
"Do you want him gone?" It's such a scary question, but even so, Lee Sookyung doesn't show her skepticism. She shakes her head, it's a lie, but she can't leave that man yet.
(But why?)
Duri was three at the time, same as his younger twin brother, Dokja.
"Mom. It’s okay." He breathes out. Before he smiles.
He smiles.
Lee Sookyung froze because it was such a pitiful, understanding smile.
He leaves her in the kitchen, frozen in wonder. Was it her fault for being so stubborn? To stay in this abusive household?
The scars Duri holds are different. The weight of his stare doesn't come from nowhere.
So why?
She tiptoes to the twins bedroom and sees Duri reading a book to Dokja like a good older brother. Dokja asks lots of questions, sometimes says things that don't make sense, but Duri answers them all patiently and kindly.
Lee Sookyung is happy that Duri is mature, but why does her heart hurt so much?
When school came, Duri and Dokja were inseparable as ever.
“Bye Mom!” Dokja would always yell out before skipping ahead, dragging Duri by the hand.
Duri only looks back briefly before tagging along.
Lee Sookyung could only wave for a moment, before she left for her job.
Both her children are great.
Dokja is doing well academically, and Duri seems to do much better in athletics. Teachers would praise them in parent-teacher interviews and other parents would be jealous of her twins.
(But they don’t see what’s behind the curtains do they?)
“Stop it! Don’t hit the children!”
Lee Sookyung can take it all, whether it's deception, hatred, or anger from the man who she calls husband. But she can never let her children bear the same burden.
Beer bottles explode by the counter and she shields her children from the sharp glass shards.
“You bitch! You stole my money! Where’s my money!?”
It hurts so much, but she can take it.
She was a fool to believe things were going to be better and a fool for bringing her children into this.
Dokja was crying and frozen from fear, but Duri was abnormally calm.
“Mom, I’ll take Dokja to the room.”
Without another moment of hesitation, Lee Sookyung let them go, and Duri carried the sobbing Dokja to their bedroom despite the screaming of an angry man.
“Calm down honey-”
“It was you! You son of a bitch!” When she felt the belt whip her on her waist, a sharp pain erupted within her and she stumbled from the force.
“You spent it on the children didn’t you?! Huh?! I need it more than them!” Lee Sookyung quickly braced for impact by protecting her head and curling herself in.
She can take it.
“I took the money.”
Lee Sookyung immediately looked toward the familiar voice in panic. There stood Duri in his middle school uniform and he was emotionless. Behind him was the sound of Dokja pounding on the door and crying out his name.
“Hyung! Hyung! Hyung!”
“Duri! What are you doing? Go back-” Her voice was easily overwhelmed by her husband’s wrath.
“I knew you were a demon spawn! Give me back my money, you piece of trash!” Her husband rushed over with his belt like a madman.
“No Duri!” Lee Sookyung tried to stand up but she couldn’t, she could only helplessly watch Duri get whipped across his face with a belt.
The loud slap ranged in her ear and she cried out in anger.
“Duri!”
“This is self-defence now.”
In the next moment, Duri kicked her husband in the balls, hard.
Then he suddenly crashed to the ground.
“You fucking-” Her husband couldn’t even finish his words when suddenly the police knocked their apartment door down.
Lee Sookyung didn’t know what was going on, she was immobile on the ground by shattered glass while the police restrained her husband.
“I-I’m scared officer. Please, help me and my family escape my dad!” A plea, the first time she heard Duri so desperate, and saw tears rolled down his cheeks.
“I have evidence! I just can’t watch him continue anymore!”
(But Duri is not the type to cry. A dark part of her is telling her that this was deception)
“Don’t worry, we’ll take care of this. Give me what evidence you have.” Duri hands over a voice recorder and a small camera.
But did it matter at this point? She could always talk to Duri later. Right now, her children mattered the most.
“Duri! Mom!” Dokja managed to finally run out of the room after the police officer forced the door open. He quickly ran over to her and she hugged him close.
“You devil spawn! You planned this didn’t you?! You evil little bitch-” The police quickly handcuffed her husband and dragged him away.
“Ma’am, I’m going to need you and your children to follow us.”
“Okay.” When Duri stood before her and extended a hand, both she and Dokja held onto it.
“Mom, you don’t have to endure anymore.”
It took her a moment to understand what he said, and it was all she needed before tears rolled down her cheeks.
“Mom! Don’t cry, we’re here.” Dokja comforts her while wiping away her tears despite the fact he was tearing up too.
“Hyung! Do something!”
“Okay.” Duri hugs her awkwardly since he never initiated a hug before, and that tugged at her heart strings even more because he’s trying.
“Thank you.” She kisses both of her twins and then wipes away her tears.
Now, she needs to do what’s right, and she needs to take advantage of what Duri has given her.
She needs to be brave for her children.
With both her children by her side, she took a step forward.
The interrogation wasn’t long, in fact, it was very straightforward and the police officers were very nice. They first allowed them to go to the hospital to get first aid before proceeding with the questioning.
The police seemed to be well acquainted with Duri and Dokja, and it was then she found out that the twins had been helping other members of the community, whether it’s helping the grandma carry her groceries, or other children from bullies.
While Dokja was very shy about it all, Duri remained nonchalant about it, saying it was what they should do.
During the questioning, Lee Sookyung muttered up her courage, and told nothing but the truth. She admitted to the evidence that Duri submitted.
With everything pointing to her husband as the perpetrator, the results arrived quickly.
“I curse you! You demon spawn! I hope you die in the most painful way possible-'' When Lee Sookyung went to cover Duri’s ears, he pointed to Dokja instead. Lee Sookyung covered Dokja’s ears and watched Duri simply stare, uninterested.
It was her husband’s last words before he was taken to prison.
It felt too fast, too easy for all those years of abuse to suddenly disappear. Perhaps it was this easy, but she was simply too afraid.
She was a coward compared to Duri.
She was awarded decent compensation in return, and received the pity of the people around her. Duri and Dokja received praise from the police and admiration from others.
Life returned to normal a few months after the incident, and nothing has changed aside from the fact that they were finally safe.
Duri still did well in sports where he played a key role in helping the school win the championships, whereas Dokja came first in the entire school in language. They were still very much inseparable, where they filled in each other’s gaps and supported each other.
Lee Sookyung had to work a lot more, but with the community’s support, she was able to work peacefully.
She was never able to ask Duri about his choice or how he planned out this whole situation, but she believed that one day he would tell her the truth.
When that day comes, she will listen and she will believe.
That’s a promise she told Duri, and a promise she made to herself.
“Mom.”
Before Lee Sookyung could turn around, two hands covered her eyes. In an instant, she knew it was Kim Duri.
“Thank you for loving me.” Whenever he says this, she knows Duri’s feeling a bit vulnerable or down about something, but he never tells her.
So all she could do is comfort him in the best way she knew how. By reassuring him, and by giving him her time and attention.
(The things she was unable to give before wholeheartedly)
Lee Sookyung smiled before she put her own hand on his.
“Thank you.” For saving us.

Yoo Joonghyuk scolded me, "You dragged out time and the ones hiding escaped." I couldn't have a conversation with this jerk. We decided to follow the trail of those who ran away. I asked, "…By the way, are you going to keep going with me?" "…" "Are you perhaps looking for your chance to hit me?" Yoo Joonghyuk watched me with his uniquely fearsome eyes and slowly opened his mouth. "You are the one who reminded me. Thanks for letting me know." "…I would be more grateful if you kept forgetting about it."
I swear we're going to get to the last page of the novel and these two are going to be, idk, lovingly decorating a cake together or some shit and Dokja is STILL going to be going on about "Why is Joonghyuk here? Why is he looking at me? Why is he talking to me? Is that a fond smile? Oh no, it must be because he's finally decided to take his revenge."

In a world where dungeons and hunters alike are slowly emerging, It never came as a surprise that a special department with regards to dealing with such phenomena came into existence as well.
No one would want to work with administrative force when you could be a hero, not Kim Dokja.
When he found out he was a mere F-class hunter, he gave up on dreaming of becoming one of the greatest hunters in the world. Besides, he hated pain anyway, so he did the second best thing, which was working under the special branch of specializing dungeons.
When he quit his old job and started working in the department, he was surprised to see no less than seven workers, including him!
A disaster.
He was then told by his supervisor, Aileen, that no one wanted to work here all because being a hunter was far more cooler. Kim Dokja clicked his tongue. People these days do not realize that they cannot even go to a dungeon without a specialist like them. He vowed that he would make his department the strongest!
Now, in the present, Everyone has realized that they cannot enter the dungeon without the permission of the DoDS, nor will they be given pointers on how to survive the dungeon as well. Every since Kim Dokja came and straightened their sad excuse of a deartment, all of the higher ranking tried to get their good side. Jang Hayoung giggled whenever they saw someone beg Aileen or Kim Dokja to let them have a permit to enter.
Such power really is the best!
“Boss! "Mark greeted
“The leader of the Supreme will be meeting you today regarding about acquiring a permit to be the first group of hunters to enter the new S-class Dungeon in BBusan,"he added.
Kim Dokja groans as he rubs his forehead.
“For the last time, I am not the boss, Mark! Aileen’s the boss.”
“She’s currently on vacation! You’re the acting supervisor right now anyway," Mark snickered.
“Hyung, members of the Judgement as well as the Constellation and Prophecy will be coming here as well," Han Donghoon reminded. The clicks of his keyboard never cease.
“Fuck! It was today?!?"Kim Dokja cursed, feeling another headache coming.
"Oof." Jang Hayoung stared at their boss with pity.
Kim Dokja stood up and stared at his colleagues. He was about to call when Lee Hakyun barged into the office, seemingly frightened.
“D-Dokja-yah. The leaders are here–” Lee Hakhyun gulped when he felt glares coming from behind his back.
“Kill me instead,” Kim Dokja said to no one in particular.
So here he was in the conference room with Han Donghoon, surrounded by the best hunters in, most probably, the whole world.
Yoo Joonghyuk, S-class. Attribute: multi. As well as the leader of Supreme along with Kim Namwoon, A-class hunter. A fire attribute.
Jung Heewon, S-class. Water attribute and the leader of Judgement.
Uriel, S-class. a purification attribute and a member of the Constellation.
Lastly, Anna Croft, Unknown Attribute, S Class, is the leader of Prophecy.
Kim Dokja wanted to just melt and be dead until this meeting ended. He beckoned Kim Namwoon to get Han Donghoon away from the conference room. The man grinned and dragged the poor man out of the room. He sighed.
“It’s been awhile, Dokja-ssi! "Uriel greeted! As always, seeing Uriel smile is the best, he thought.
“It’s been awhile, Uriel-ssi! I thought Plotter would be coming here," he asked.
“Call me noona! "She huffs.
“Uriel-ss– noona.”
“Good! Well, that guy is taking care of his forest or something. He told me to tell you that he would be visiting at a later date or something.”
Before Kim Dokja could reply, A loud bang from Yoo Joonghyuk’s side was heard. He frowned as he was about to scold him. Anna Croft beat him to it.
“Yoo Joonghyuk-ssi should refrain from breaking Mr. Dokja’s stuff lest you won’t be giving priority over the dungeon," she said, her blonde hair simply swaying by the power outburst of the man.
“Even if you guys are exes, you should give basic respect to other people. Ah, but you don’t even know that–”
“N-now! Now! Let’s hold our horses.” Jung Heewon tried to calmly settle everyone.
Everyone started to argue with each other, even as going as far as using their abilities.
Luckily, his F-class body has such a special nullification that even if people, no matter their class, tried to oppress him, they could not do so because of his somewhat cooler ability.
Luckily, he had asked Kim Namwoon to drag Han Donghoon out, or else it could be worse.
“Everyone, calm down.”
Inside the room filled with the greatest hunters, everyone froze.
Kim Dokja sighed, and almost everyone was jolted by the sudden action.
He then dragged his eyes to everyone inside the room.
“I refuse to speak to ALL of you right now. So get out.” His voice doesn’t have a speck of emotion. If any of his employees would have seen this type of situation, They would run out. They refuse to experience the devil!
“Out NOW! ”
Slowly, everyone went out dejected; only Yoo Joonghyuk left.
“Kim Dokja. Can we talk? "He asked softly. There was distance between the two of them.
“No.”
“Just for 5 minutes. Let’s talk about us.”
Kim Dokja glared at the man.
“No! We broke up, Yoo Joonghyuk, remember that? You were the one who broke up with me because you wanted to be a S-class hunter. Not me. So get out. I don’t want to talk to you.”
“Kim Dokja..”
“...”
Yoo Joonghyuk sighed and stared at Kim Dokja for a second, and then he left. He did no forget to drag Kim Namwoon with him.
Once Kim Dokja was sure the man was gone. He slumped in his seat.
What a tiring day!

4 and 10!
hi!
4. do you have any characters you wish interacted more?
this is a difficult one because theres so many relationships i wish we saw more of. orv is so long but its so chock full of interesting characters and dynamics i can easily list like 10 of these. gun to my head though id have to say kim dokja, lee gilyoung and shin yoosoung! every time theyre together they're a unique combination of adorable and heartbreaking. i am dragging his deadbeat dad ass back from whatever suicide hes currently busy attempting and making him have a nice family dinner with the two of them!!
i also think kim dokja and lee jihye have a fucking FASCINATING relationship though....i think out of all of the kids she's the one attempts to mimic his self sacrificial tendencies the most, (all though shin yoosoung and lee gilyoung also try and imitate him if im remembering right.......the cycle of self sacrifice is STRONG in that family) and i think her 'lmao youre so lame old man who even cares about you PLEEEEEAAASSSEE PLEASE DONT GO' dynamic with him is so funny. and also somewhat tragic. so yeah i think my final answer is kim dokja + the youngest trio from kimcom. although i do also spend a lot of time wishing we saw more of yoo jonghyuk and yoo mia.......
10. any popular thing in the fandom you cant stand?
aside from the way so many joongdok fans will erase han sooyoungs importance to the narrative and her relationship with them to facilitate their yaoi (which ive complained about so many times i dont think i need to repeat it here).....ok, this could just be a different interpretation kind of thing but i dislike when people use kim dokjas objectively very warped perception of himself, where he's like 'oh yeah im so evil for caring for these children' to do a complete 180 and be like 'oh hes the best guy ever with no moral complexity'. he did some fucked up stuff!! i dont think hes evil at all. i also think that orv loses a lot of its teeth when you refuse to consider the moral complexity of him only saving a handful of people on that train, or any of the other many instances where he sacrificed random nameless side characters he didnt care about to achieve his goals. were his goals good? yes. but theres still a complexity there that was one of main things that hooked me on orv that i dont see discussed much.
also fellow white fans stop calling kim dokja a rat its racist and its weird. ive been seeing people in the fandom ask white fans to cut that shit out literally since i joined in 2021 and its still ongoing. weird as shit! cut it out!
thanks for the ask <3<3<3

? merman!kdj x scuba diver!yjh
? transferred this from my twitter..... 😵‍💫
Right now, Yoo Joonghyuk was submerged in the ocean, his body sinking deeper and deeper as he drifts through the sea floor—not a single light could be seen in Yoo Joonghyuk's vision. It was but pure, pitch black darkness.
He was a passionate scuba diver, but he was warned that this field that he was planning to take on was one that would cost him his life if he wasn't careful enough.
Of course, being the hardheaded, stubborn bastard that he is, he paid those warnings no heed.
Now look where that got him.
10 feet—no, 100 feet—actually, he doesn't even know, but all he knows is that he's fallen so deep into the ocean that there's probably no going back to the surface for him.
His oxygen supply was running low. By now, any normal individual would, at the very least, start making attempts at propelling themselves back up—but on the contrary, Yoo Joonghyuk felt rather peaceful.
There was nothing but utter silence filling his ears. It was as if his body had become one with the water that surrounded him. There was a sense of comfort in the darkness as he sank deeper and deeper into the ocean, and he was almost close to certain that he would meet his end here soon enough.
If you can't go up, then the only way left is down, after all. What better way to go than this? Surrounded by complete, utter silence.
He had no worries to think about here—just him, the water that hugged him so tight that he might just suffocate if he wasn't careful. But, just as he closes his eyes to wait for his time to come, he instead, feels a tug at his feet. The only way left for him to go was down... right?
And so, a pair of two delicate hands dragged him further, quicker, and deeper into the depths of the ocean. In a matter of minutes, he had now been dragged into a well lit cave, filled with...
Forks?
...Spoons?
Why were these here?
Where was he?
But soon, the answers to all of his questions would reveal themselves as he turns around to see a half human, half fish creature. It had porcelain skin, a pair of shining jet black eyes, it seemed so fragile, like a single touch would cause it to break.
"Merman..."
He mutters quietly under his breath as the merman swims closer to him.
"Kim Dokja."
The merman suddenly spoke, as if to tell him his name before continuing on with his words.
"It seems I've found myself quite an exquisite addition to my collection."

idea i had for post-scenarios, only kdj remembers
Kim Dokja collapses as soon as he gets to the bedroom.
He doesn’t even reach the bed before he stumbles to his knees, rubbing at his shoulder blades as much as he can from the uncomfortable position. The day had been difficult at the beginning, from being pushed on the train and spilling his coffee on an innocent bystander, to spilling some of his lunch onto his sleeves and having to change into a spare shirt, and then developing a pounding migraine as he accepted another strenuous project from his supervisor, and so the day had gone from bad to worse. Not to mention that he was going to have to work overtime in order to complete the report he had neglected for the past week, too busy otherwise to bother staying up later than he had to.
Now, he supposes, he’s paying for it.
Kim Dokja finally shrugs the white coat off his shoulders and lays on his stomach, unfurling his wings as much as he can in the cramped space. His apartment is still too small for his wingspan, and as much as he has tried to upgrade, he isn’t made of money. As Kim Dokja lies there, Biyoo crawls out of the collar of his coat and nudges his face with a marshmallow-like paw.
Ever since the scenarios ended, he’s the only one to remember anything. Aside, of course, from Biyoo, who has now grown into something resembling a long cat, except with stubbier limbs, a too long body, and a horn. She mostly just hovers around Kim Dokja now, and without any scenarios to start, she’s taken to following Kim Dokja anywhere and everywhere, despite the danger of a dokkaebi being seen outside. On one hand, it’s the same as how they were in the scenarios, which does bring him a sense of security, but on the other hand, if she’s seen, then he has a lot more questions to answer than just the one about bringing a pet to work.
At least he still has his dimensional coat she can hide in.
After a few more nudges from Biyoo’s paws, she gives up and crawls between his shoulder blades, sheltered by Kim Dokja’s wings to wait. This behavior is only part of his normal routine these days. If he didn’t have his achievements from the scenario, along with the presence of Biyoo, to hold onto, he might have thought that all of it was just a dream, or a very, very long hallucination. But he does, and he’s here now, and no one else remembers.
So he drags himself to the shower, slowly folding his wings away, and Biyoo enjoys a ride on his back.
After he gets out, Kim Dokja sits down at his desk with a cup of coffee and rests his head in his arms until it’s time to feed himself and Biyoo. Actually, it’s Biyoo nudging him awake, but since no one’s there, and he has no pride left in front of her, Kim Dokja just lifts her to his shoulder in thanks and trudges to the kitchen like a man on death row.
With the resources he has now, Biyoo doesn’t settle for anything less than the best, so Kim Dokja makes himself a quick meal of instant noodles, while Biyoo feeds on gourmet pasta and a side of chopped fruit. At this point, Kim Dokja thinks he spends more of his money on Biyoo than himself. (He’s fine with that.)
After dinner is done, and Kim Dokja has served himself another cup of coffee and more water for Biyoo, he collapses at his desk, only slightly more awake than he was earlier.
But work has to be done, so he can continue to feed Biyoo and afford a space to sleep. Kim Dokja drags his laptop towards himself and settles in for a long night.
Yoo Jonghyuk is sure that he’s forgetting something. In his rush out the door after staying up late for a video conference, he only had time for a rushed shower and to dress quickly before he was out the door. Now, standing on the train, he ruffles around the pockets of his long jacket for his keys, heaving a sigh as he finds them in the right pocket, left there from the night before. His lanyard is around his neck, and his wallet in his back pocket, keys in hand, so what is he missing?
The train gives a lurch forward, and his hand on the overhead strap tightens as he endeavors not to knock into the woman next to him. The lights in the carriage to his right flicker, and the jolt of darkness travels, flushing black into the carriage before the lights regain brightness. To his left, lights flicker on down the line, the shade growing steadily smaller as it continues on. There are a few murmurs of complaints, but it’s a minor inconvenience at best.
Yoo Jonghyuk sighs through his nose and leans back, fishing for his phone from another pocket. His hand stops. Did he leave his phone behind?
In his haste to search through his pockets, a man from the car to his left passes through, murmuring an apology as he nudges Yoo Jonghyuk’s shoulder. He glances up with furrowed brows, but he only gets a glimpse of black hair, dark eyes, and long eyelashes before the man continues into the next car. When he shuffles through his pockets again for his phone, it’s in the front right one, exactly where he found his keys. The woman next to him, alerted by his shuffling in the quiet space, looks over from her phone and squints her eyes, short hair swinging as she glances between her phone and Yoo Jonghyuk again before shaking her head and going back to scrolling. She must have mistaken him for someone else.
The feeling of forgetting something does not lessen.
When he arrives at the studio, the first thing he does is grab his phone and scroll through his photos. He doesn’t take many of them, so it’s a quick task, but he’s sure he remembers someone on the subway, possibly an old companion. But before anything turns up, his manager arrives, and he stows his phone away, along with the feeling of uncertainty.
Pain sparks along sensitive nerves, stinging the muscles of his back as they contract and are forced to relax through sheer willpower. Kim Dokja forces his wings out of existence with a rough exhale and shrugs on his coat with jerky motions. He reaches behind his back to unzip the large pocket at his back, and with a sigh of relief, he flaps his wings back into existence in the pocket dimension. There’s limited space, but his other items are now stored in the other pockets so he has enough room to fit his wings. It’s still a close fit with the limited area, but it’s better than going without them for too-long periods of time. Adjusting the collar, he waits for Biyoo to float over and stuff herself ungracefully into another pocket on the inside, and with a small smile at her antics, grabs his things and heads for the door. Just… another day of work.
In this new old world, every day is even harder to manage than in the scenario. It’s difficult, holding the memories that he has in this peace. In some way, Kim Dokja thinks he was more suited to the scenario than he was to the simplicity of Earth’s everyday life. He could be brave there, he could be an enigma, an adversary, a hero, the puppeteer tugging the strings away from a streamlined fate. Here, he is only Kim Dokja again, a quiet, unimportant man with a somewhat tragic past but blank personality.
It grates, but knowing that his party is safe eases some of the tension. At first, he thought he was resolving the scenario to have his moment in the spotlight, out of a twisted sense of justice. In time, he and his party defeated the scenario for themselves, but also those who they cared for; those people that were counting on them.
And now they have completed their journey, and no one remembers.
After work, Kim Dokja steps onto the train with an overwhelming sense of deja vu.
Biyoo starts to poke herself out of her pocket to nudge Kim Dokja’s chest, and he snaps out of his stupor to pat her on the head inconspicuously. At least he has her; the tangible proof of his experiences, the last thing he could tear away from the scenario’s greedy hands.
To be completely fair, it isn’t like no one remembers; Biyoo does, even if she can’t express it very well. He curls his hand around Biyoo in his pocket, and she gives a sharp, playful bite in return.
The ride isn’t that long, but surrounded by so many crowding bodies and having to make sure Biyoo stays out of sight, it feels longer than it is. When Kim Dokja finally steps off the carriage, he can breathe again, and not only because he was worried for Biyoo. Stepping into train cars is now just waiting for something that will not happen; that should not happen. Despite this, Kim Dokja sometimes catches himself searching for familiar faces among the strangers in the train. He takes a second to stop and let the other passengers surge around him from the train car like a rock in the middle of a rushing current. Soon enough, his steps take him out of the dim into the sunlight, and Kim Dokja continues on, Biyoo a small and comforting warmth against his chest as she tugs her small body out of her coat pocket to press tiny paws into the fabric of his shirt.
It’s starting to get dark outside, the light fading from in between buildings and through tall glass. At this point, not many things are able to scare him now. It’s not that he’s never afraid now, or that there’s nothing to fear from the mundane world. There is, but they all seem… smaller now, for all that he’s seen. Kim Dokja had always hoped that he wouldn’t become desensitized and haughty like most of the constellations, but it seems that he had no choice in it. It doesn't matter, in the end. He did what he had to, and the people that he cared for are safe, and the scenarios never started, never will.
Eventually, his steps bring him to the fountains outside the hotel, and the lights of the entrance are bright despite the fading day.
He’s let inside without fuss, and he walks to the elevators with the confidence of a tax collector on his last rounds. Of course, he barely has a fraction of the money he had in the scenario and no expensive watch or expensive clothes to bluff with. Looking down at his phone, he ignores the people in the elevator crowding themselves in to make room for him.

got an orv au idea based on the schrodinger’s clown post you reblogged :D
tw: themes of self-harm and suicide (don’t worry about reading this if you can’t or don’t want to; all ideas here!)
au where kdj dies and revives only when it’s funny, but it’s specifically mainly funny to the people around him - all it does for kdj himself is prove that he’s unloveable, again and again
when he’s alone, he can’t end things because he’s the only one there and it’s not funny to him, which makes him laugh bitterly; isn’t that ironic? isn’t that just grand? his fate is not in his hands; he’s a literal cosmic joke. it’s another thing that he finds himself taking comfort in yjh on when he reads twsa; resurrected over and over for another’s entertainment, forced to start over with no close bonds to guide him. it stops being as much of a problem for him as he fades into obscurity with age, unperceived and unknown.
when the apocalypse begins, he realizes it could be a useful tactic the first time he dies and comes back to life when people least expected it, and considers twisting public opinion to consider deeming his constant revivals funny. except… the longer this story goes on, the less and less he’s able to even die.
because it’s not funny to his friends, you know? he’d spent so long knowing he was literal comic relief to everyone else that he’d forgotten what it was like to be wanted. being mourned is foreign. guilt drags him down as he thinks he’s tricked even his beloved people into thinking he’s worth something.
it all comes to a head when kimcom gets to the fourth wall and sees 51!kdj- and realizes that the person who kept killing and reviving kdj all that time was himself. a version of him who went through almost the exact same thing as a child, who hated himself so much he kept imagining himself dying as a teenager and wondering if it would’ve been better that way. if it would’ve been funnier that way. if people would’ve been better off seeing him as just a joke.
and seeing a parallel version of his friends breaking down through the train window, begging him to let them in, he quietly realizes that the answer is no.

Asking you all of them from 1 to 20 ^^
OMG GLADLY
1. whos your favourite character
Kim Dokja 🫶 (fragment behavior)
2. what was your favourite arc?
Revolutionary arc my beloved
3. do you have a favourite quote?
Out of context would probably be "Even if there is an insurmountable wall between me and them, even if it isn't heard by the person beyond that wall, I can write something on the wall and at the very lease, the wall will change" from Jang Hayoung
In context would be when Jung Heewon said "I don't know anything about the future. However, I do know this. You said that you want to save this world? It's the same for me, too... That man is the world I wish to save" (that gave me goosebumps when I read that lol)
4. do you have any characters you wished interacted more?
Jung Heewon and Han Sooyoung! Han Sooyoung's relationship was basically the opposite of Yoo Sangah's with Jung Heewon. They developed quite a bit of beef with each other during the 3 year time skip while Kim Dokja was away, and it was really interesting seeing it get resolved due the Proof of the Stars scenario
5. if you could ask the authors any question, what would you ask them?
Probably if there's any experiences they've had that's contributed to orv's development
6. whats a headcanon you have that you absolutely believe is canon?
Han Sooyoung would've either a) gotten multiple degrees or b) attended lectures in various unrelated fields understand a topic before writing if the epilogues hadn't happened
7. conversely, whats a headcanon that youre just pulling out of your ass but you love anyway?
Not a very wild heacannon but Kim Dokja would've gotten into watching esports when he was a teenager but maybe after like two weeks of looking around at the major streamers he would've dropped it entirely because none of them looked like how he imagined Yoo Joonghyuk to look like
But he keeps up with esports news in a very casual way (probably the random news article here and there 💀)
8. whats your least favourite arc?
Peaceland arc 💀 I like all the arcs in orv but I felt like it dragged a lot. To be fair, I think a bunch of orv arcs drag on a bit, but Peaceland was so early on that it made me stop reading for a long time during my first read of orv
9. any popular thing in the fandom you love?
Not really a popular thing but more like a popular idea - that you can only take out as much meaning in a story as you are willing to. You can glean as little as you want from a piece of media or give it more meaning than what the author may have originally intended
10. any popular thing in the fandom you cant stand?
Not really
11. any character you wish we saw more of?
Lee Seolhwa or Jang Hayoung! They have so much relevance in twsa but not too much in orv, so I’m curious about them!
12. are you more of a reader, writer or protagonist?
I’m more of a reader. This kind of ties back to my kinship to Kim Dokja, because he lived to see the next chapter update of his favorite novel, which is something I did, too
13. if you could meet any character, which would you pick and what would you say?
Yoo Sangah. I’d just like to have a normal conversation with her tbh.
14. favourite theme in orv?
The broad theme has gotta be love. It’s been said before but you step into orv thinking its an isekai powercreep fantasy and it is quite literally Han Sooyoung with a metal chair LMAO
15. any characters you didnt love at first but grew to adore?
Jung Heewon. It's less of 'didn't like' and more 'neutral' at first. It was only during my reread that I came to appreciate her a lot more :)
16. what part in orv made you realise it was gonna be a favourite?
Honestly, everything going on in the Demon World.
17. any controversial takes?
Jung Heewon and Lee Hyunsung would've been fleshed out better if they had a relationship that foiled Kim Dokja's and Yoo Joonghyuk's (Life and Death companions, but where kdj and yjh lean more towards the 'death' part and jhw and lhs lean more towards the 'life' part) instead of romance
18. who would you choose as your sponser?
Probably Prisoner of the Golden Headband. I'd like to see more about his powers
19. whats your favourite duo?
Han Sooyoung + Kim Dokja
20. be honest - are you making it to the epilogue?
Absolutely not lol

Single
Joongdok Modern AU - Min Jiwon’s POV
“Jiwon-ssi, what do you think of the guys in our department?”
Min Jiwon was absentmindedly eating her lunch when one of her female colleagues called out to her.
“Excuse me?”
She looked at the other girl confusedly.
“Ah- we are talking about the single guys in our department. Apparently there are quite a lot haha.”
Her colleague laughed. Oh, they must be gossiping about the love life of others. Min Jiwon hated that topic and now she was dragged into talking about them. Great, goodbye her peaceful lunch break.
To be honest, she didn’t think much of the guys in her department. All of them are either boring or straight up disgusting. Except for one man - Kim Dokja. The man in question was sitting opposite her, quietly eating his lunchbox while looking at the phone. Contrast to Min Jiwon, who was well known throughout the whole company, the man was only known by those who had worked with him before. Apparently, he didn’t like gaining attention to himself.
“I think the guys in our department are all good people.”
She politely smiled.
“Oh Jiwon-ssi, you don’t need to be kind. We all know that none of the guys here could be on par with you.”
Another girl chimed in. Somehow, Min Jiwon felt like the girl was being sarcastic.
“It’s true though. Everyone has their own good side, right?”
Yeah but definitely not Department head Han. That man had been hitting up on her since the day she entered and it didn’t stop even when she straight up refused him. She wished that man would be cursed by a demon king one day.
“But-“
“Jiwon-ssi, can you take a look at this document. I want to ask you some questions.”
Just when the girls were about to bombard her with questions, Kim Dokja called Min Jiwon from where he was sitting. The man was waving a folder, which she recognized as the one she had just given him before. Weird, she clearly reviewed the documents a few times to make sure that nothing went wrong. Why did the man suddenly want to ask her about it?
Min Jiwon gave her female colleagues an apologetic smile before coming to where Kim Dokja was. Upon standing close to the man, she heard him whispered:
“The other girls must have been giving you a hard time, right?”
“There’s nothing wrong with the documents, but I think you might want to go somewhere else lest you want to be attacked by them.”
He gave her a small smile while looking to the direction where her female colleagues were talking loudly.
Oh, she understood now. The man must have seen her having a hard time and decided to help her out. That’s who Kim Dokja was. He was the only person in the office to treat her normally, not with hidden intentions like the men or with jealousy like the women. The man always acted indifferently with his face sticking to the phone, but he would help her out when no one noticed, which she greatly felt grateful for.
Min Jiwon was indifferent to love. But if she had to choose one, she would choose Kim Dokja.
Rain poured down as Min Jiwon walked out of the office. It was one of those rare days when the whole department could get off early and yet it was raining. Luckily, she brought an umbrella with her today.
As she approached the entrance, the woman saw Kim Dokja standing there with a troubled expression on his face.
“Shit, I didn’t have an umbrella…”
She heard him mumbling. Before Min Jiwon could think, she opened her mouth to ask the other man.
“Dokja-ssi, do you perhaps forget your umbrella?”
“A-ah, Jiwon-ssi. Haha yes, I did forget to bring one today…”
The man, startled by her appearance, shuttered before giving her a sheepish smile. Min Jiwon slight gripped the umbrella she was  holding, an idea quickly formed in her head. With a slight blush on her face, she looked straight into Kim Dokja’s eyes and opened her mouth:
“Dokja-ssi, would you perhaps want to share-“
“No, he had his own umbrella.”
A cold voice rudely cut her off. A man suddenly appeared in front of them, his hand holding a big black umbrella. The man was tall, so tall that Jiwon had to look up to meet his eyes. Despite wearing a mask, she could still somehow guess that the man was an attractive one with a black turtleneck hugging his torso tightly and  skinny jeans donning his long legs. His eyes were dark, deep and black like an abyss sucking the soul of the person that dared to look straight into them. Wait, why did his eyes seem so familiar?
“Hyukie? What are you doing here?
Before she could react, Kim Dokja had quickly walked to where the man was, a big smile on his face. This is the first time Min Jiwon had ever seen the man wearing such a… happy expression.
“I came to pick you up. You forgot the umbrella at home.”
The man lightly ruffled her colleague’s hair. His gaze softened as it met the other’s man eyes.
“Hmm. Thank- No! I’m still mad at you so I won’t come with you.”
Somehow Kim Dokja sounded like he was whining. Was she hallucinating?
“If you are still mad at me for throwing that plushie out then I’m sorry. I will buy you another one, hm?”
“No can do, Biyoo was the first present you gave me so nothing can replace her.”
Kim Dokja mumbled as the other man gently caressed his cheeks. Min Jiwon felt like she was watching something that she shouldn’t.
“Now now, let us come home. I prepared chicken dumplings for you.”
Her colleague perked up at the sound of “chicken dumpling”. The big smile earlier on returned to his face as he grabbed the other man’s hand.
“Hmm ok then I’ll forgive you. Let’s go home. Ah wait I need to-“
As if remembering that Min Jiwon was still standing there, the man turned to her side and bid goodbye to her.
“See you tomorrow, Jiwon-ssi.”
“Who is she, Dokja-ah?“
The stranger suddenly asked out loud.
“She is my colleague, Min Jiwon-ssi. She helps me out a lot in the office.”
Kim Dokja replied with a smile, his hand still holding the other’s.
“Hmm is that so.”
The tall man paused for a while before continuing:
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Jiwon-ssi. Thank you for taking care of my Dokja.”
Somehow, Min Jiwon felt like the man stressed quite a lot at the word “my”. Not waiting for her response, he then quickly turned towards the rain, dragging a still-smiling Dokja with him. They walked side by side, their sides slightly bumping as they shared an umbrella. She didn’t miss the way they lovingly looked at each other and how their bodies seem to act in union.
“Haizz, turned out none of the decent guys in our department was available.”
Min Jiwon sighed as she walked by herself under the heavy rain.

Red String Travelers Joongdok AU
CW: major character death
A/N: Im trying out this tumblr thing and moving a thread on my twitter to here. Why not :D Also i added more words and more in depth detail compared to my twitter thread here.
✧˚·━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━✧˚ · .
Yoo Joonghyuk and Kim Dokja have known each other for years and have traveled with each other for as long as they could remember.
They would walk long distances exploring and gathering materials. Then they would find areas to rest for the night and get up to travel once more.
They first met when Kim Dokja was extremely ill.
Yoo Joonghyuk passed by Kim Dokja’s town during one of his travels and Kim Dokja begged Yoo Joonghyuk to join his journey.
Saying... if he were to only live for a little while longer he wishes to see the world one last time.
Yoo Joonghyuk obviously refused seeing as he would be a burden.
That didn't deter Kim Dokja though. So he forcibly became a thorn in Yoo Joonghyuk’s side.
This made Yoo Joonghyuk have to deal with the fool until they found a cure.
Yoo Joonghyuk and Kim Dokja have been traveling together since.
Yoo Joonghyuk’s goal for being a traveling nomad in the first place was to one day reach the stars.
Having someone to accompany him made the travels less lonely. Overtime Yoo Joonghyuk had gotten used to Kim Dokja's presence. They banter and argue quite a lot but despite these fights, he always finds his way back to Kim Dokja. As if something was attracting him to Kim Dokja.
✧˚·━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━✧˚ · .
Naturally enough, Yoo Joonghyuk had not a clue that they were tied together by fate.
He only realised in the dead of night.
Both of them set up camp in the silent night of the forest. The breeze blew quietly around their camp with Kim Dokja quietly resting in a tent not too far from Yoo Joonghyuk’s.
Yoo Joonghyuk stayed awake in the dead of night to mark out the map of their next destination. When he drags his finger along the map, tracing a circle around a location, he notices something glow in the corner of his eye.
He found that it was a thin red thread that curled and looped on the map and led off onto the ground.
Yoo Joonghyuk traced the thread upwards and saw it bounded to his pinky finger.
‘The Red String Of Fate’ Yoo Joonghyuk remembered reading it in a book once.
He never gave much care for tales or superstitions. He never even considered the possibility of it being real.
He tugged the thread, playing with it experimentally. Yoo Joonghyuk pulled it a distance away from him only for the thread to magically extend by itself.
He then followed the thread that twirled and spun along the ground outside and saw it lead to Kim Dokja’s tent.
His breathing turned erratic, his nerves not seeming to calm down. He crouches lowly to the ground, having the grass blades brush up against his clothing.
There was only one conclusion... but he still had to check for himself.
He had to know.
He pulled up the flaps of the tent and saw Kim Dokja. Kim Dokja sat on the ground touching the red string wrapped around his pinky finger adoringly.
Kim Dokja and Yoo Joonghyuk met eyes.
After a brief moment of staring Kim Dokja flashes a genuine smile and lets out a breathy laugh.
A real genuine smile. Not like the other ones where he smiles and tells Yoo Joonghyuk that the pain in his head doesn't hurt.
Kim Dokja pulls at the string playfully, “I suppose we are bound by fate now." He pauses then he starts chuckling to himself. "You’re stuck with me forever hahah!”
From that day onward, the small gentle occasional brushing of their hands or how their thighs touch while sitting together is much more noticeable.
Sometimes Yoo Joonghyuk unconsciously protects his hand that has that red string attached to it. Or other times when Yoo Joonghyuk loses direction or tends to get nervous he traces his fingers along the string, feeling the smooth thread between his fingertips.
As for Kim Dokja, he would twirl it around his pinky or he would try to run as far away from Yoo Joonghyuk to see how long it would stretch out.
One time, Yoo Joonghyuk caught Kim Dokja staring at it.
Just staring.
He would roll around in his sleeping bag outstretching the hand with the thread attached to it and would just stare.
Kim Dokja looks at it with such awe and aspiration it's as if he can't believe what he's looking at is real. He used to rub his eyes uncontrollably when the both of them first came to see their fate being intertwined. Yoo Joonghyuk lectured him about that.
Sometimes he would ask ridiculous things such as… 'Is this an illusion?' 'Is this a dream?' 'Punch me Joonghyuk-ah.'
Yoo Joonghyuk, already used to his antics, told Kim Dokja to research more about the topic in hopes of answering his questions.
So from then, every town they visited or stayed in for an extended period of time Kim Dokja would bolt to the nearest library in search of everything and anything related to The Red String of Fate.
Gradually, the two of them accepted their fate. They got used to having a glowing string being connected to their pinkies.
Yoo Joonghyuk preferred this much more. He could chase Kim Dokja down more easily whenever he wanted to run off dangerously.
Yoo Joonghyuk and Kim Dokja had settled down in an inn within a secluded town.
Their beds separated by a metre, the orange light lit the room dimly and both men lay in their beds awaiting sleep to overtake their bodies.
"Joonghyuk-ah." Kim Dokja called out to him lazily.
"Hm?"
"Hypothetical question; what if somehow a giant octopus opened a universe portal in the sky━"
Yoo Joonghyuk rolled over to his side and glared at Kim Dokja from where he leaned on his arm.
'Where is he going with this...'
"━and it grabbed me and swallowed me whole?"
Yoo Joonghyuk internally scoffed but once he locked eyes with Kim Dokja's expectant expression he actually thought of answering his crazy nightly questions.
"Then...I would use the string to pull you back."
"Ahaha Hyuk-ie actually answered me genuinely!" Kim Dokja began laying on his side with his head pressed into the pillow as he laughed gently.
"Hmph." Yoo Joonghyuk turns back around and lays on his back, closing his eyes.
A beat passes.
"Joonghyuk-ah."
"Hm?"
"What if the string was cut...?"
Yoo Joonghyuk didn't like how that question sounded. But it isn't the most concerning thing Kim Dokja has ever said to him so he brushes it off.
"Impossible. It can't be cut."
The Red String of Fate. A string that connects two people for all of their life times and eternities.
A bright red string which intertwines their pinkies and will always lead to the other. No matter the twist and turns it takes and paths it has to travel to. That was absolute. There was no way for it to be cut.
It's true Yoo Joonghyuk did not know much about the string connected to him as much as Kim Dokja did but he knew that much at least.
And even if there was a way to break the connection, Kim Dokja would tell Yoo Joonghyuk.
"But what if it can be cut!"
Yoo Joonghyuk can feel a migraine approaching.
"Even if it could be, which it can't, I'd still stay with you."
Yoo Joonghyuk hears the ruffling of bed sheets and then the other speaks again.
"Just... don't let me drag you down... Okay?" Kim Dokja questions into the silence of the night.
"You don't drag me down." He speaks it through gritted teeth, tired of Kim Dokja's midnight shenanigans.
"Just say okay!"
He sighs. "Okay."
The both of them now presently travel through the desert this time.
They talk about useless topics with Kim Dokja doing most of the talking.
Yoo Joonghyuk listens quietly as they walk through the heavy and humid sand. Kim Dokja occasionally complains about the heat and questions how the hell Yoo Joonghyuk wears all black in the desert.
Kim Dokja suddenly stops walking.
Yoo Joonghyuk sees Kim Dokja walk slower and leaves his peripheral eyesight. Yoo Joonghyuk wants to turn back and glare at Kim Dokja, wondering what has him so distracted.
Before he could ask Yoo Joonghyuk notices the ground under them is wavering. Like it's ready to move.
Kim Dokja realises the situation they are in and swiftly pushes Yoo Joonghyuk to the side.
Yoo Joonghyuk attempts to glance back and ask him what he was doing,  but before he can do that Kim Dokja cuts him off.
“Yoo Joonghyuk.” Kim Dokja says quietly barely above a whisper in the desolate desert.
He begins pulling out a knife from his waist pocket.
Sand starts to flow up from the air and breeze past both of their hair.
The ground immediately started to break in and the sand began falling.
Quicksand.
“It was a good journey, wasn’t it?” Kim Dokja speaks solemnly with acceptance in his eyes.
The sand began rapidly pulling down Kim Dokja with it.
Yoo Joonghyuk now realised why Kim Dokja had pushed him backwards.
“KIM DOKJA!” He tried to scatter down into the pit but each step he took more sand fell and collapsed onto Kim Dokja's sinking body.
The hole ate Kim Dokja’s legs and slowly his torso started to fall in.
All Yoo Joonghyuk could do was watch. His breath quickened and his mind started to orbit.
Yoo Joonghyuk tried reaching for Kim Dokja's hand.
He was too far out of reach.
Kim Dokja's arms reached out to him and he looked up with a sad smile at the other man.
Yoo Joonghyuk couldn't tell through the sand flying everywhere and the panic filling his bones but he swore he could see tears running down Kim Dokja's cheeks.
The ground pulled and tugged at Kim Dokja, swallowing him whole. Yoo Joonghyuk tried using his other arm to grab the string that was pulled taunt from the pressure. He began pulling the string up, hoping to pull Kim Dokja out of the hole with it.
Yoo Joonghyuk looked at him with desperation, his eyes widening in terror. No words came out, only his strained breathing.
“Don’t let me drag you down, yeah?”
As soon as Kim Dokja spoke those words he used the knife that he held up in the air to make a clean cut to the red string.
SNAP!
The impact from being disconnected from his soulmate forcefully threw Yoo Joonghyuk onto his back a distance away from the quicksand.
The sand bursted into his vision and Kim Dokja went out of sight.
Yoo Joonghyuk coughed heavily and covered his eyes from the sand.
He quickly recovered and urgently scrambled to his knees, the sand sticking to his knees and falling into his boots.
He moved to where Kim Dokja was only to see nothing there.
The sand shifted and bubbled after it sucked in Kim Dokja.
Yoo Joonghyuk’s breath fastened.
No. NO. Nonononono━
“KIM DOKJA!” He called out.
The sound of the shifting sand and wind blowing replied to him instead.
'Don’t let me drag you down, yeah?'
“KIM DOKJA COME BACK HERE!” Yoo Joonghyuk yelled with so much force it hurt his voice.
'What if the string was cut...?'
'Impossible. It can't be cut.'
He clawed at the sand. His mind became blank and so he desperately dug at it in a useless effort.
His hands moved in a repeated act, pulling out chunks of sand and throwing it behind him only for more sand to fill in its place. Despite that he still dug, again and again.
'But what if it can be cut!'
'Even if it could be, which it can't, I'd still stay with you.'
He couldn't feel tears in his eyes. Maybe his heart hurt so much it pained him to cry. His heart throbbed; it felt like a part of him got ripped out.
His hands that were constantly digging, found only the sand that buried Kim Dokja.
'Just... don't let me drag you down... Okay?'
'You don't drag me down.'
Yoo Joonghyuk brought his hand up to his face and saw that the string which was once long and ever stretching now lay short and cut.
The glow no longer there.
'Just say okay!'
'Okay.'
His hands grazed and red from the sharp pieces of rock laying in the sand. He pulled at the cut string on his pinky.
It no longer stretched like it used to, it no longer led to a familiar cheeky smile he knew so well.
Yoo Joonghyuk pounded at the sand with a clenched fist so hard his knuckle turned white.
“Give him back.”
He repeated these words until he became exhausted. He dug at the sand more and spoke those same words over and over.
The sound of rustling leaves and the howling of nocturnal animals knocked him out of his trance.
His eyes are full of sand from digging and arms are sore.
He dug until the moon rose above the clouds.
He looked towards the night sky.
What was he doing looking for the stars when a star was right next to him? Notes: For my own belief of the Red String of Fate AU i like to think.... the string can only be cut if the other person genuinely wants to cut it. This usually applies for break up AU's as well, where someone gets upset and cuts the thread. I also like to think if you want to reconnect your thread you have to sacrifice your most happiest/important memory to connect the string again. It just brings alot more angst hehehe.

ORV Fic Rec I
so i have read my fair share of orv fics and i’ve been thinking it’s time to share my favorites out to the world. not sure how many of these i’ll make, but i thought i’d keep it short and sweet and list out just a few of my favorites if anyone wants to give them a read.
No Pairing/Gen:
Home Invasion - misoriri
Rating: G Word Count: 3,178 Chapters: 1/1
Kim Dokja’s covers are flung back. He looks up to see Yoo Jonghyuk scowling at him, his blankets in one hand and a bag of groceries in the other. He wishes it was a thief instead.
Kim Dokja gets sick.
Notes: does not take place during the scenarios, but contains no spoilers. It’s a super cute sickfic and i loved it. i read it a few times already haha.
here it’s safe and here it’s warm - Lizhly
Rating: G Word Count: 7,446 Chapters: 1/1
It hadn’t been a big deal, Kim Dokja had thought, when he started feeling a little under the weather. It’d just been a sneeze. A cough. Maybe a bit of a runny nose. It still wasn’t a big deal when he’d gotten the fever later. These things happen. It’s not like he’s spent how-ever-many years taking care of himself and somehow never run into a cold. He’s made it work, dragged himself to work, and has done so multiple times over the course of his life. Shocker of shockers, he’s never died even once throughout this entire process. He can take care of himself.
Kim Dokja’s Company doesn’t seem to think so. Notes: post-canon/post-epilogue fic. beware of spoilers. another sickfic... ok but listen, i live for any type of hurt/comfort found family trope, although there’s not really any hurt, mainly just fluff and comfort.
conversation in a lull in the war - stuffandsundry
Rating: T Word Count: 1,175 Chapters: 1/1 The Great War of Saints and Demons is slowly getting started. Sooyoung and Joonghyuk talk, as they wait. Notes: canon compliant, spoilers up to the Great War of Saints and Demons arc (i believe ch 387?). SO good tho. i love this fic, it gives insight on yjh and hsy’s relationship and ugh, it’s a good read. pls try it
Kim Dokja/Yoo Joonghyuk
Waiting for These Eyes to Open - KatcadeCascade (DreamWings231)
Rating: G Word Count: 2,004 Chapters: 1/1 He finds himself reaching the 73rd Demon Realm with an archangel, taking ownership of an industrial complex in Kim Dokja’s name, and confronting Asmodeus.
Yoo Jonghyuk could not see himself ever doing this for anyone, mostly because no one else would get in this much trouble. But for some reason he did this all.
All to see Kim Dokja again.
And that rat bastard is sleeping.
This is all exhausting to think. Thankfully, there’s a chair nearby.
Notes: spoilers up to ch 226, canon compliant, missing scene. fuck i love this one, it’s just. hh. kdj/yjh pairing makes me go insane.
precipice - oronine
Rating: T Word Count: 4,871 Chapters: 1/1
“I want to kill them.”
Yoo Joonghyuk looks tired. His sword is drawn but unable to draw a line in the soil. In this world, he is the most powerless being. “I hate them.”
Kim Dokja is sprawled on the ground, head in his hands. There are footprints and blood all over his shirt and the ground; he wishes he could meld with the grass and never wake up. “I hate them too.”
Trapped in a scenario, Kim Dokja is forced to relive his past with an uninvited guest. Notes: please do read the tags for this one. the romantic relationship isn’t the main focus, but wow is this such a gut-wrenching read. it hurts so good.
the pros & cons of caramel - sunwarmed
Rating: G Word Count: 5,398 Chapters: 1/1 “What’s in this,” Yoo Joonghyuk demands.
“Peruvian dark roast.” Yoo Joonghyuk looks as if he’s about to commit a crime, so Dokja takes pity on him and continues, “And sugar, ice, whipped cream, cookie crumbles, caramel, hazelnut syrup, chocolate, and a little bit of almond milk. Really, I put a ton of work into making this, and you’re not even thanking me.”
Yoo Joonghyuk’s eye twitches — once, twice, three times — before he takes the cup and squeezes it so hard Dokja’s a little afraid the drink will fly everywhere
.[or: 5 times kim dokja makes yoo joonghyuk (the wrong) coffee & one time yoo joonghyuk returns the favor.] Notes: coffee shop AU. holy shit this fic lives in my mind rent free. i think about it all of the time. it’s just. they are idiots and it’s so cute.
I certainly have MUCH MORE bookmarks than these saved, but i figured i’d start off with just a handful and see how it goes. if you have any fics you’d recommend OR if you have any fic rec requests, my ask box is always open ;)
