As much as i love the later seasons nothing will ever top the twilight vs tirek fight personally

that's fair! honestly that kind of thing is exactly what I meant though when I mentioned being kinda exhausted with the "unicorn laser beams" direction the show goes in Season... 3???? onward

seeing celestia take on queen chrysalis at the wedding was pretty cool the first time, but the Action is not really what appeals to me in the show nowadays. as a kid i was all about that stuff because i needed reasons to justify watching the show in my teens to people around me and "look it's for grown ups too look at the action!" was the easiest shorthand.

not saying that liking the action is inherently that immature, just that nowadays i do really prefer the more kindness-driven solutions from this show cause they're what feel the most honest. it kinda felt to me like the show becoming more Epic and action driven was in direct response to its widened fanbase of guys who liked the show for other reasons but similarly needed that hook to easily explain it to other people, rather than a natural progression of the show's core values laid out in Seasons 1 and 2. they feel almost like different shows entirely past a certain point, and that makes sense as i suspect they were basically being made for different demographics.

but, truly, on a pure "cool factor" level, seeing princess twilight fly around and shoot laser beams removed from that context is pretty fucking cool so you're valid all the same haha

Anyone missing Golden Oaks Library? Ever wonder what it would have been like if we'd have gotten a proper replacement? Wonder no longer!

I finally got around to making a vector for the new tree that replaces Golden Oaks Library in my fanfic series Flurry Heart's Story. A reformed Tirek grew this tree at the end of "Tirek vs Scorpan", but some contractors were hired by Twilight Sparkle to renovate it to make it more livable like Golden Oaks Library was back in the day. It is now a the "Harmony Clubhouse". It first appears in the next episode of FHS and will be a recurring location throughout the series from now on. Flurry and her friends are about to have their first sleep over in it, but the ghost of a certain ram is on the loose and is looking to make their first night in this clubhouse a literal living nightmare!

Battle Royale (Equestria Girls Edition)

So I decided to do a bracket list on who would win in a fight between the Equestria Girls she-demons. Based on this, I wish there was one more she-demon so that it could be balanced but since it’s not, I only had five which is why in the first round Gloriosa doesn’t go against anyone. Now for these match-ups I chose randomly from a wheel generator for fairness. I’m going to list my reasons why who wins, but first I’m going to list attributes of the girls.

With those attributes out of the way, lets get started with the fights. But Gloriosa automatically goes to the final round for being picked at random as the middle ground.

1st Fight- Demon Sunset vs. Juniper Monstar

This fight easily goes to Demon Sunset due to her having more of a magical arsenal than Juniper who has none. In terms of strength Juniper is strong and is taller than Demon Sunset (who scales to Principal Celestia at best when she’s on the ground) but Demon Sunset can fly and even though Juniper can throw projectiles, Demon Sunset can just catch them with her magic. Demon Sunset could throw any magic attack at her or even hypnotize her and Juniper loses.

Winner: Demon Shimmer

2nd Fight- The Dazzlings (Adagio) vs. Midnight Sparkle

So for this fight I wanted to make it fair...and 3 vs. 1 isn’t fair so for the sake of this, it’s Adagio vs. Midnight because Adagio does the most stuff in Rainbow Rocks. Now both can fly and shoot magical beams. Adagio has her sonic singing while Midnight could disperse it with a straight forward magic blast which would leave Adagio vulnerable to a face attack (like Twilight did to Tirek in the S9 finale). Adagio could summon her astral form to do the fighting for her, but Midnight would most likely catch on and would need to strike Adagio down or even just strike her pendant with enough force to destroy it. Adagio would be depowered, her astral form destroyed and at Midnight’s mercy.

Winner: Midnight Sparkle

3rd Fight- Demon Shimmer vs. Midnight Sparkle

Both of these girls are transformed into she-demons. Both are empowered by a form of the Elements. In Demon Sunset’s case, she’s empowered by the physical crown of the Element of Magic, while in Midnight Sparkle’s case, she’s infused with a combined raw form of the Elements of Harmony. Now Demon Shimmer has a light advantage in height and wingspan and she has more of an arsenal but I doubt that most of her arsenal would be effective or benefit her against someone arguably more powerful than her

Mind Control: For this to work, Demon Sunset would blink, concentrate and activate her hypnotic eyes and her hypnotic rings would have to travel to Midnight, which who deflect and attack her in that state

Demonization: Demon Sunset would need to blast directly at Midnight and would need to land a direct hit...but considering Midnight is also a she-demon I don’t think it’ll do anything. Even if Midnight was a demon like Sunset she would still have agency and her own powers still.

Fireballs: Again, if it was one she would have to aim directly but Midnight could easily fly and dodge

Demon Sunset like Adagio has one clear weakness, the physical crown. If Midnight knocks the crown off of Sunset’s head or even knocks Demon Sunset out hard enough she could just take the crown off of Sunset’s head and she’s depowered.

Winner: Midnight Sparkle

Final Fight: Midnight Sparkle vs. Gloriosa Everfree

Now for Gloriosa her abilities are able to ensnare others in vines that are strong enough to grow back even if blasted apart. None of the Equestria Girls who had attacks were strong enough to destroy the brambles with Twilight being the closest due to levitation. Gloriosa could ensnare Midnight in brambles but Midnight’s powers start from her horn and spread to her hands so she could easily break out and destroy the brambles. All Midnight would have to do is blast Gloriosa with a direct hit and knock her out or destroy the geodes and she claims victory.

Final Winner: Midnight Sparkle

Favorite mlp episodes?

So, I love a lot of MLP episodes! It’s one of my all time favorite shows (with a lot of rewatch ability!)

The first one I always think of is Make New Friends But Keep Discord because of relatability. I do have a fear of abandonment and worrying that people eventually get tired of me, so I would’ve reacted how Discord would. (And I have. Multiple times.)

Crusaders of the Lost Mark is also a favorite! It’s very emotional. The songs are really good and It ties up the CMCs cutie mark quest (and opens up new ones)! The song at the end gets me all the time (espically the part where the older sister’s are congratulating the cmc). I also really love Rarity Takes Manehatten, but on a worldbuilding stance! Also love The Mane Attraction, due to Coloratura and AJ’s wholesome friendship.

Season 1 is a bit hit or miss in terms of rewatchability. It was just getting started after all and the episodes are a bit simple. (Also it’s so weird hearing how squeaky S1 Applejack was.) But I do like the Best Night Ever. Season 2 steps up it’s game in terms of episodes I like to rewatch like Lesson Zero, Hurricane Fluttershy, Sweet and Elite..

I do like A Canterlot Wedding (in bits, some parts I skip) and I remember all the promos for it! They hyped it up (obvious to mirror the royal wedding that was happening hence the outfit refs). This Day Aria is an amazing song and Shining Armor and Cadence are adorable together in future seasons. (Off topic, but one of my all time favorite issues from the mlp comics is Neigh Anything because I love seeing “awkward dorks with crushes”)

Season 3 was great. Sleepless in Ponyville is a favorite out of them. I did like the songs of Magicial Mystery Cure (and alicorn twilight was fine, but people were angry.)

S4 had an amazing finale! That raised animation budget went straight into that Twilight vs Tirek fight. Tirek was such a good villain! ALSO lots of good ones! Bats, For Whom the Sweetie Belle Tolls, Testing Testing 1,2,3, Pinkie Pride! 

From S6 and up, we get the Starlight Glimmer joins the main cast plot... and then the Student Six! :o I love the Students and Starlight is 50/50, but I do have some faves. Viva Las Pegasus because of seeing new worlds. The Saddle Row Review was really good! Forever Filly is something that I am dealing with right now, since my younger sister is growing up. The Perfect Pair, Surf and/or Turf, Between Dusk and Dawn, She Talks to Angel, She’s All Yak, Sounds of Silence  etc. All good eps! 

I do think the finales of later seasons aren’t as “wow” as previous seasons were but I love the epilouge of the show and the last song closing the book one last time always gets me.  

Also, I love Rainbow Roadtrip and The Best Gift Ever! They’re just cute and I like rewatching them!

Why Modern Cartoons is Not Great as it Used to be in this Decade

As 2010′s draw near to the end and begin a next-generation, cartoons have changed from being a fun episodic adventure with a meaningful message and can get dark sometimes to a story-driven show with deep messages. While cartoons have a great start in early 2010s such as Adventure Time, Regular Show, Gravity Falls, and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, however as time passes cartoons are becoming less interesting and not many aren’t talking about it. So what the hell happened with modern cartoons? Let’s get to the bottom of what happened to this decade of cartoons and why isn’t anyone talking about it anymore 

The Animation Quality 

The quality of the animation of cartoons back in 2000′s were amazing, so many variations of animation styles that look very appealing such as 

Samurai Jack 

Avatar: The Last Airbender 

Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends 

Recess 

Proud Family and so many more

But now in modern cartoons, most cartoon shows are using a similar style of animation which many people called it “Calarts style”. Most cartoon shows are using because it’s cheap however it takes away creativity, more detail nor being organic. Look at Infinity Train, compare from the pilot to the release 

It looks very boring having most cartoons look the same. Then there’s artistic freedom where creators let them draw whatever they want such as Steven Universe and OK KO. That sounds good but really though it just looks lazy and unprofessional. This is very distracting that most characters go off-model every scene like why Rebecca and Ian-Jones Quarry think it was a good idea! 

Great to Below Average

So now let’s talk about the three shows that were once popular Steven Universe, Voltron, and Star vs The Forces of Evil. The trope I’ve been seeing as of late about these shows that it was pretty hype and they deliver on that. All they need to do is conclude it and call it a good cartoon but then crash and burned in later seasons. 

Steven Universe didn’t get popular until “Jailbreak” and that was when everyone was watching it. It had character development, an interesting world of gems, a gorgeous background and has one of the best soundtracks. This isn’t surprising because the creator is the same person who wrote Marceline episodes in Adventure Time which was Rebecca Sugar that created the series. Then season 4 and season 5 happened which the show drop in quality like mostly the show prefer showing filler which makes the plot go too fast and made arcs underwhelming, crystals gems and Lapis Lazuli and Peridot aren’t being used that much in the show and having each villain being beaten by simply talking to them. While there is Steven Universe Future but that hasn’t gotten interesting in my opinion. 

Star vs The Forces of Evil is a show used to be interesting for the two seasons and “Battle for Mewni” arc but then shipping drama got out of hand and that resulted to fell from grace 

Then there’s Voltron and we all how that turned out for the last two seasons

What these three have in common that they set up this interesting premise and world in the first few seasons but they all went downhill. Awful character writing, insane plot twist, and terrible pacing. I did wish that those shows would get better like how Adventure Time and Regular Show had one bad season but after that, they both got better but they didn’t and it went from being great to disappointingly average. 

Comedy Over Messages

Now that’s got the most hype shows, let’s talk about shows that not many people talk about because the premise and world aren’t engaging enough to watch and which they are We Bare Bears, Craig in the Creek, Clarence, OK KO, and The Loud House. While I’m not saying they aren’t bad but it is just not interesting to watch, it's just that it’s too tame and too comedic. The main issue I have it doesn’t really teach viewers like they used to anymore 

OK KO was about to talk about gun violence but they turn it into a comedy. In “Let’s Not Be Skeletons” people overuse the gun and resulting everyone to turn skeletons and KO tries to stop it but fails. By the end of the episode, it was a dream and calls Congress to stop it from happening. I really hate how writers of this episode of making a serious issue turn into comedy and that’s a pretty awful way of doing it. 

Look at Static Shock and Fat Albert, instead of making Gun Violence a joke, they talk about how serious it is by having someone shot and that devastated the characters a lot 

Then there's Hey Arnold, it really dives into serious issues such as 

“Pigeon Man” showcases that some people are meant to be with other people while others like Pigeon Man are just different and can’t be with other people. 

“Helga on the Couch” showcases Helga's anger issues and those issues manifest because her family ignores her because of her sister. Never truly cares for like no makes her lunch for school and no one brought her to school when she was a young girl. The only person that cares for was Arnold.

Then there’s my personal favorite, “Arnold Christmas”. Mr. Hyunh is always sad at Christmas and this episode revealed that he had a daughter and all he wanted was to see her grow up but there was a war coming near his village. In order to do so, he had to give her up so she can have a better life. It took 20 years to get out of the country and he almost gave up hope to find her until Helga helped Arnold to search for her and be reunited with her father. 

Modern cartoons don’t show those kinds of messages anymore and there’s something worse than that and I hate how cartoon shows keep doing this. 

Today’s Villains

I” ve been seeing a lot lately that the main antagonist isn't handled well in cartoons as of lately. Most villains have been getting redeemed lately and not paying their crimes. While show creatures try to make them sympathetic and the victim however it doesn’t excuse them for their crimes. 

White Diamond who caused multiple mass genocide on worlds, brainwash any gem that stands in her way and shatter gems gets easily defeated by simply getting talk to and just not gonna do it anymore because Steven said so. 

Mina Loveberry and her Mewni soldiers wanted to destroy monsters. When her and her army magic depleted, she just goes in the wilderness and no one stopped her. 

Moon Butterfly helped Mina create her soldiers so she can retake the throne from Ecipsa. Instead of having the monsters and her surrendering the throne that she was attending to do, however, her plan backfired when Mewni Soldiers and Mina wanted to kill all the monsters. Why didn’t Moon saw that coming, they were clearly racist against them. Then by the end of the show, she never once apologized for what she has done. 

Starlight Glimmer created a cult that no one has cutie marks until the mane six defeated her in “Cutie Map” She returns and her revenge on Twilight by going back in time and making sure Rainbow Dash doesn’t perform the Sonic Rainboom. After multiple going to multiple timelines, she finally catches up to her and then her tragic backstory been revealed and it was very disappointing. The reason she caused all of this because her friend moved away and that’s it. That’s not all, instead of her facing her crimes like most villains such as Tirek or Queen Chrysalis, she gets off the hook and she became friends with Twilight in a matter of minutes 

A good example of a good antagonist is Aku from Samurai Jack. When he first appeared in the show, he’s pure evil, destroying anything that stood in his way and ruling over the weak but as the show progresses, the serious villain became more comedic villain but that doesn’t mean he’s a silly character, he’s far from that. He’s still all-powerful and should be taken seriously. This is what I want from a villain.  He’s powerful, he’s truly evil and has a personality. 

Villains can be sympathetic and relatable however shouldn’t be forgiven so easily. When a character crosses the line by taking multiple innocent lives should never be redeemed, even if they have a sad backstory 

Cartoons lately have become less popular in this past decade, the glaring problems about cartoons are its animation, comedy over messages, messy plots, and terrible villain. People will only talk about cartoons from the late ’80s to 2012. I’m afraid that this day of age that it isn’t appealing anymore than in previous years. The only animation that people will talk about is anime shows which I can’t lie, is far superior to cartoons as of now. I feel that the only way it can make it back on top is it needs something like Adventure Time or Gravity Falls moment that reinvent it more relevant and view to modern audiences. I really do like to watch cartoon shows for animation, message, and characters but I keep seeing issues in modern cartoons and I hope that it will change in the future.

Flurry Heart's Story Season 1 complete!

Sorry I don't come by here to post that often, but I just wanted to let everyone know I finished the first season of my MLP fanfic series "Flurry Heart's Story!" I started this series in April 2020 and have done 13 episodes including one extra short interquel story called "They Can't Stay Encased in Stone Forever." I have never done anything nearly this dedicated for the MLP fandom and it feels great to have reached this milestone! I came up with some amazing concepts and characters along the way and even started a spinoff series called "My Little Sister is a Dragon" which runs alongside the official show. Elements Assemble - Tired of her boring life in the Crystal Empire, Flurry Heart is called to Ponyville. She quickly finds herself thrust into adventure as the townsfolk are threatened by a red, horned monster.

Cheesy as Pie - Flurry Heart and the Cake Twins help Cheese Sandwich get ready to propose to Pinkie Pie, but he starts to wonder if he can even do it right.

Calming of the Storm - Flurry Heart meets Rainbow Dash’s son, Storm Streak, but his daring, mischievous ways end up getting him into trouble.

Villains Anonymous - Princess Twilight Sparkle tasks Fluttershy, Discord, Spike and Flurry Heart with reforming an unexpectedly repentant Lord Tirek, who is holding a dark secret about his motives.

They quickly begin plotting revenge, but can they come to an agreement on what to do next? (This takes place during the events of "Elements Assemble")

Let My Ponies Go! - While Flurry Heart and her friends are vacationing in Southern Equestria, they meet Somnambula who is studying clues leading to a mysterious temple where she finds an old friend.

Tirek vs Scorpan - Tirek returns to his homeland, the Midnight Kingdom, to get revenge on his brother King Scorpan. Meanwhile, Flurry Heart is called by the Cutie Map to deal with a friendship problem in the Midnight Kingdom.

Fillie Jean - Flurry Heart and Pumpkin Cake get a chance to meet their favorite pop-singer, Night Shade, but they soon realize he’s not as good of a pony as they expected.

Go North, Young Dragon - A familiar dragon arrives in Ponyville to give Spike some news that will change his life forever.

Oh, Mother, Where Art Thou? - The parents of young ponies across Equestria are mysteriously disappearing. A powerful being calling herself the “Sorceress” appears, claiming responsibility and must be stopped with the Elements of Harmony.

The Perfect Storm Streak - Storm Streak is mad that he cannot enjoy some of the rides at his favorite theme park due to his age, so he searches for a mysterious artifact that he believes can turn him into an adult.

My Big Fat Pink Wedding - Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich are preparing for their wedding, but not all is as it seems and Flurry Heart starts to wonder if there is another changeling invasion going on.

New-Death, or as I like to call him “Ned”

just seems misunderstood, and he only went down a dark path

because a certain character could see his loneliness.

it’s possible his dad could see his son, Ned, was lonely and tried to spend time with him.

it’s pretty clear in theory, that Ned’s Mom was a terrible Mother.

who didn’t care about her son’s feelings, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Ned’s Dad got full custody because Ned’s Mom was too full of herself to take responsibility and try to be there for him when he needed her.

both Eclipsa, Meteora and Globgor,

were misunderstood by a lot of Mewmans and Monsters.

why didn’t Moon Butterfly get put in crystal for what she did...?

I’m still not a fan of the whole magic being made the scapegoat for Star’s families own misuse of it in the first place.

Magic was NEVER the problem, it was Moon’s extreme misuse of it the moment she brought back the Solarian Warriors, and even obviously tried to turn the Mewmans (and Monsters) against Eclipsa,

when she had Globgor freed.

I don’t think I will fully understand why it had to go that way,

plus I don’t believe that Toffee was in the wands,

he was just talking through them while in the realm of magic.

the wands were connected to the realm of magic, just as the realm itself is connected to the wands.

 at least Steven Universe Future, had a happy ending in the end where NO ONE was turned to Stone (for the actions of the Lord of Chaos),

even if there were sad moments, some emotional.

Steven was still going through something that most in Real Life,

can relate to, even if it can be different for everyone.

it takes time to heal from really bad feelings.

even if what happen to Ned, was the only way...

but I think he could of been hurting emotionally,

even if he did come off as jerk.

it does seem that the only parent that truly loved him,

and could see the pain he was in, was his Dad.

him showing love for his son, and trying to have him spend time with him, could of showed that he knew his son was in emotional pain and needed his father, even if Ned tried to push him away.

in theory, it’s possible the reason why a certain villain,

had corrupted Ned in the first place, was because of Ned’s Mother.

her refusing to spend time with Ned, and placing her work over her family, most likely caused Ned to become who he is, well that and the “friend” he made, who was most likely using him because he was in emotional pain.

before Meteora was “Reborn”

she was in emotional pain too.

if Ned could be given the same second chance as Meteora,

it might only be in Fanon, and sadly not in the Canon.

emotional pain can hurt, it is inside you and there can be a overwhelming negative energy that comes with it. 

even if Cozy Glow, Tirek and Chrysalis are “Villains”,

they are still victims, all three of them had bad experience with “friendship”, even if all three of them did form a bond of friendship...

it was Chrysalis who snap out of it because she believed it was a sickness, but her reacting that way can be understandable.

it is trauma...

not a lot of fans have to agree about this theory.

but I do have a theory that the Equestria, which Princess Twilight rules.

was originally Tirke’s Home Kingdom, before the Ponies moved in and took over after they ruined their original Equestria Home.

which is just a broken pieces of snow and ice across the Storm King’s form home.

I also believe that the Crystal Empire, was originally the home of the Changelings, who all looked as they do in their redeem forms.

but the earth ponies who would then evolve into crystal ponies,

took their home and drove them out.

I do have a new theory about Human-Cadence,

and that is that she is the counterpart of both Princess Cadence

and Chrysalis.....I mean it is just a theory and it doesn’t have to be correct...

plus what if Chrysalis turned out to be the real Cadence,

who was turned into a Changeling, and the Cadence that Shining married, was really a Clone from that Magic Pool that Pinkie Pie used before.

and what if the Pinkie Pie that was the “Real Pinkie” turned out to be a Clone, who was made to be really sad, because that was how the real one was feeling when she used the pool one last time,

before finding a portal to the human world and starting over there...?

wouldn’t that mean that the Pinkie Pie that Cheese Sandwich Married, was a clone and he never truly met the real original Pinkie,

because that Pinkie now lives in the Human World,

and even has a close bond with Sunset.

but all that is just a theory, and not all theories have to be right.

the Evil-Starlight could still exist,

I don’t believe that Ned was truly evil,

Starlight wasn’t truly evil, but if she kept going down the dark path she chosen, then yes, it is possible the might of turned fully evil.

I don’t believe that most of the cartoon or video game villains are evil,

just like how most of the heroes aren’t truly good.

sometimes the hero will fall and become the villain,

just like how a villain will rise and become the hero.

this can be both a ship and a tribute drawing to Ned x Meteora.

but this drawing still has to do with the Moon and Eclipse.

and I suppose this can be seen as either a romantic ship

or a platonic ship.

this drawing is non-canon and fanon, just like how most fan art is.

Crossover Ships can go different ways, either romantic or platonic.

there are different forms of ships,

and some will be in family or friend zoned.

but you can’t say “I ship it” otherwise people will get the wrong either.

that is why there is “I Fam” or “I Bud” it for the Family Found and Friendships.

i think my fave m.lp scene is the twilight vs tirek fight. it makes me go HOLY SHIT every time
