hey, thanks for the ask! I'll answer all your questions, because they're pretty quick.

Making script-a-days for Teensyville scripts is something I'm interested in doing at some point, but I'm not sure I'd have too much to say about them given, well, their size. Maybe I could make a week out of covering some great Teensies, like I made a week out of April Fools scripts.

Homebrews are fun, and I've certainly indulged in quite a few — but I'm not confident enough to cover them on a series like Script-A-Day yet. I think they're fun, and I've STed and created my fair share of homebrew and hybrid-homebrew (scripts featuring both TPI characters and homebrew characters) before, but it'll be a bit before I cover those.

Wall of text on how to make a good script? That's really tricky. Making good scripts isn't even something that I do well most of the time! I'll probably cover smaller parts of what goes into scriptbuilding at some point, but I wouldn't keep your hopes up for the ultimate scriptbuilding guide.

“What’s this?” Janus asked when a giant bowl was set on the coffee table in front of him.

“We’re eating on the couch tonight,” Emile said cheerfully.

Janus raised an eyebrow and switched off the tablet he’d been using. “Why?” he asked, setting the device aside.

Emile shrugged and set a second huge bowl down next to Janus’s. “For fun,” Emile said. He turned back towards the kitchen and Janus leaned forward to look in the bowl. It was spaghetti with some sort of creamy sauce and a few different vegetables mixed in along with some shrimp.

“I made green tea too,” Emile said, coming back into the room with two mugs.

“Thanks,” Janus said, taking one of the mugs with a small smile.

“What were you doing?” Emile asked as he took a seat beside Janus. He nodded at the deactivated screen now sitting on the end table.

“Just playing some puzzle games,” Janus said.

“That sounds fun,” Emile said with a smile.

“Head doctor said they might be a good thing to do to pass the time when I told him to fuck off after suggesting reading.”

Emile sighed. “Dr. Figueroa is my colleague. You could try to be polite.”

“I thought I was supposed to be my authentic self in therapy,” Janus replied.

Emile just huffed and rolled his eyes. Janus couldn’t help but smile as he picked up his mug of green tea.

The last few months had been…different. In a lot of ways, Janus’s life had become harder than it had been before. It had been easy to do nothing but eat pre-prepared meals, go to work, and pass out in his empty house every day. It wasn’t good for him. He’d known it even then, but it had been easy. This was not.

Emile had offered, insisted really, that Janus move into his house for a bit just to get back on his feet. He’d taken time off of the TPI which would have been given to him anyway since he’d spent so long trapped in the past. He’d had to give a report of what had happened, and he’d mentioned Patton, but he hadn’t mentioned everything. They’d offered him a shrink when he’d asked.

Janus had told Emile he needed to tell him something about why he’d been distant, so he wouldn’t end up chickening out, but he’d asked for a bit of time to figure out what to say. He’d finally worked up the courage to talk about it with Dr. Figueroa two weeks ago. Much like with Patton, it was easier to talk to someone who hadn’t been involved in Janus’s mistake, but it still wasn’t easy.

He was running up on the deadline he’d given Emile for having that talk. It had to happen soon, and they both knew it, but Emile was just patiently waiting for him to suck it up. It felt… wrong to use his kindness without him knowing the truth, but it was also nice to get to spend time with his brother. He didn’t even dare to hope that he’d still have the chance once he told him.

He was moving back into his own house in less than a week. He’d tell him then so if Emile ended up kicking him out of his life, he wouldn’t have to kick him out of his home too.

For now though, everything was fine. Harder, more complicated, and in threat of imploding at any moment, but fine. Fine wasn’t something he’d really felt in a long time. Or at least, fine while in his own time wasn’t something he’d felt in a long time. There’d been a few moments with Patton sitting next to the fire outside the hole in the ground they’d slept in for those few months where the man would turn to look at him and he’d felt fine. Yet, Patton had been right. Those moments were unsustainable with how Janus was actually feeling deep down.

“This is good,” Janus said, after taking a couple of bites of the pasta in front of him.

“Well, I always was the only one in the house that could cook,” Emile said, and that was true. “It was either learn to fend for myself or eat a cheeseburger for every meal.”

“Hey, I had a good burger seasoning.”

“Not for every meal, Janus.”

“Meat, dairy, bread. What more could you want?”

“Vegetables, Janus.”

“You could have put pickles on them!”

“I don’t like pickles.”

“That sounds like your problem, not mine,” Janus argued.

Emile shook his head, turning his eyes to the ceiling. “How have you been surviving on your own?”

“Well, I mean,” Janus said. “Badly.”

“Right…” Emile said. He leaned over to bump their shoulders together. Janus flashed him a smile.

“Speaking of,” said Janus. “Could you physically force me to pack tonight? I meant to do it today and instead I ended up playing puzzles games.”

Emile chucked. “Sure, I’ll help you after dinner.”

“You don’t have to help me,” said Janus. “Just make me do it.”

“Maybe I want to help,” said Emile.

“Oh, yes, packing. The most entertaining of Thursday night activities.”

Emile hummed and then glanced at him. “Remember when you helped me pack for college?” he asked.

“Mmm, I do,” Janus replied.

“I was so stressed about going somewhere new,” Emile said, “that I avoided packing for weeks. Every time Mom would ask me how packing was going, I’d tell her it was going fine but in reality, I hadn’t even started. You came home two days before I had to leave because you were going to help me move into my dorm. It’s like you could sense no packing had been done the moment you stepped through the front door.”

“You were doing your ‘hiding the broken horse statue from mom’ shuffle,” Janus said with a smirk.

“Well, you walked me straight to my room and we packed everything up in those two days,” Emile said. “You made it so much easier.”

“Yeah, because I hovered over you until you did it and did half of it for you,” Janus snorted.

“It wasn’t just that,” Emile said. “You also found the music streaming station run by the university and put that on and talked about what your freshman year was like. You also had tips on what things I should and shouldn’t pack when moving into the dorm.”

“You still took all of the cartoon character stuffed animals despite my advice.”

“I thought there’d be more space on the bed,” Emile frowned.

Janus snorted.

“But anyway, just having someone else around made me happier. It wasn’t just about the workload being halved either. You being there made me feel less lonely and reminded me I’d always have someone to come back to.”

Janus internally winced. He was sure Emile hadn’t meant to make him feel guilty in any way. In fact, he probably was trying to do the opposite, but him saying that just reminded Janus that it hadn’t been true. Janus had abandoned him for literal years and hadn’t been someone he could always come back to.

The last few months, Emile had proven himself to be at least close to who he was before Janus had messed with time. There were a couple of differences here and there, and Janus could not be sure if they were from him changing time or from him avoiding his brother for the past three years and him naturally changing. Most memories they shared that Janus cautiously brought up or Emile mentioned on his own were consistent with what Janus remembered, but he hadn’t pushed too hard or dug too deep. It just made him feel more guilty about avoiding the man for so long.

It made him want to ignore the man more, because it seemed every choice Janus ever made only hurt him.

Well, perhaps not the college radio station when helping an anxious 18-year-old pack up his childhood bedroom.

He should probably tell Emile that his words made him feel guilty because that was obviously not the intention and he’d want to know. He should probably apologize properly for leaving him alone for three years without an explanation. He should probably provide an explanation for those three years.

He should probably go see the head doctor again soon.

(He should probably stop calling Emile’s colleague who was in the same field as him a head doctor derogatorily in his head.)

For now, he just glanced at Emile. “You’re trying to bully me into letting you help pack with logic, aren’t you?”

“I am,” Emile confirmed without remorse.

“Fine,” Janus sighed, “but only if you let me do the dishes for you.”

Emile took a long moment to consider the offer. “You drive a hard bargain,” he said, “but okay.”

“And no doing anything sneaky like getting bags ready for me on your own while I’m doing it or the deal is off,” Janus said.

“You always think of all possible loopholes, Janus,” Emile sighed.

There was a long silence.

“Agree, you prick,” said Janus.

“No promises,” Emile replied cheekily with laughter in his eyes, and things were good for a moment more.

overall suka bgt sama seriesnya! 8/10!!!

series ini cukup jelas menggambarkan kehidupan “selebgram/influecer” yg selama ini terlihat di sosmed terutama celeb korea ya, pun masalah2 yg jadi konflik dalam series ini juga ga jauh beda dgn apa yg terliat juga di sosmed.

cara series ini membangun misteri juga bagus dan rapih, bikin penasaran sama eps selanjutnya, makanya ini aku bisa abis 12 eps dalam sekali tonton hahahha

untuk karakter juga oke, masing2 pihak punya motif sendiri dari tindakannya, tapi tetap aja ada karakter yg menurutku kurang dalam di gali perannya jadinya ga dapat perasaan puas pas dia kena batunya.

pace nya jg cepat ga bertele tele, di satu sisi bagus krna emang scenes yg disajikan penting semua, tpi di sisi lain krna cepet bgt, di beberapa eps terakhir menurutku ada bagian yg kurang bahkan ga terjelaskan. ((menurutku mungkin kalo diperjelas bisa bikin makin epic))

trus romance nya di aku cocok bgt walupun klise prosesnya tapi cara series ini menampakkan scenes romance dengan nuansa “mengkhawatirkan” tuh aku suka dan pas pas aja, gak menonjol bgt sehingga ga bikin fokus kita berubah dari jalan cerita series ini.

konfliknya pas dan ikutan stressful, tapi beberapa penyelesaiannya menurutku kurang epic 🥲

#Kuliahsmt.2 : Minggu ke-5

ASSO kosong lagi karena dosennya mau ke ITS dan diganti selasa lagi, makanya bisa nulis pagi-pagi sebelum lanjut bikin ppt semprop yang baru dapet 2 slide wkwkwk. 

Green Chemistry tuh masih melanjutkan analisa penelitian si bapaknya terkait terpen. dari sisi green chemnya pastinya. terus lagi-lagi aku ngantuk. gak enaknya belajar kimia kalau aku yg malas ini adalah kalau di tunjukin struktur yg banyak dan rumit bahkan bacanya aja susah trus cuma di jelasin lisan tuh bingung, enakan kalo di gambar, jadi kan tau dari mana kemana, bacanya gimana, ngitung atom Cnya yg duluan yg mana, dll. Tapi mau gimana lag. keterbatasan keadaan kan? 

Terus senin kemarin ikut sit in di kelas Kimia Fisika Polimer. nggak  beda jauh sama Polimer yg dulu s1 sih cuma yaa, karena bapak pembimbing sering notice makanya ikut aja dan lagi kelas green chemku yg maju setengah jam jadi bisa ikut kelas ini. 

Selasa ada ASSO. ngeganti jumat lalu yg libur. Bahas karakteristik serapan MS pada gugus gugus fungsi kimia yg segambreng itu. Orang bahas alilik alifatik aja bisa yg rangkap dua, rangkap satu, gtu beda. Sampe ngabisin total tuh ada 137an lebih slide, dan itu tuh juga ada yg di skip skip sama bapaknya. nggak ada tugas. Tugas ASSO tuh cuma presentasi development MS/IR cuma aku belum tau mau bahas apa. 

Rabunya ada Plasma. kosong awalnya karena ibunya ada urusan LPPM. tapi di ganti kamis pagi. Bahas aplikasi plasma gitu sama prinsip kerja gitulah intinya. aku yg masih awam ngerasa agak bingung sama beberapa istilahnya. apalagi kan ibu ngomong ya jelasinnya, ngomongnya apa dengerku apa, ternyata tulisannya apa wkwkwk. Tapi di kelas plasma tuh, diskusi sama ibu dan 3 anak lainnya tuh bikin gue merasa kalau “yo gpp kalau jawabanmu beda, asumsimu beda, nggak perlu sama. bahkan perbedaan itu yg kadang malah bikin kelas lebih banyak diskusi masalahnya juga” jadi udah gak begitu merasa minder sih kalau salah, walau g berlaku di kelas lain ehehhe. 

Bahan bakar terbarukan kemarin kosong, ibunya ada presentasi ke pihak pertamina gara-gara ada project bersama. dikasih video lewat classroom terus ada PR 3 nomer. entah mengapa ya klo ibu ngajar tuh kadang slide pptnya aja gak mau berubah gitu pas di tampilin, dan hasil videonya juga gitu, nggak mau pindah slide pptnya. entah kenapa. 

sit in Teknologi Membran kemarin tuh ya bahas pembentukan pori membran aja bisa 1 sks sendiri tau. bener-bener, gue merasa “aih, ini salah nggak ya nyemplung di permembranan, mana fuel cell juga jadi harus ada belajar sel elektronya juga :( tapi wis kaduung ya allah” 

EZP  tadi pagi bahas energi kisi. bener-bener 7 slide aja bisa 1 sks sendiri, karena bahas reaksi, energi masing-masing sama penurunan rumusnya segala :( terus ngerti gak sih, akutuh sebel karena kan belajarnya kristal ya bentukannya di bikin kaya kubus bertumpuk-tumpuk gitu, seringnya aku g paham si ibu sudut pandangnya di kubus yg mana kok bsa ngitungnya begitu dll. bner-bener sih ini coronce bikin aku merasa kesulitan sekali di beberapa bab pelajaran yg rasanya tuh lebih jelas liat di jelasin di papan tulis ini nggak bisa. mana kadang tuh kursor ibu suka g keliatan kalau nunjuk-nunjuk gitu. jadi mbuh. terus ada tugas belum tak liat di classroom. tebakan ane sih suruh ngitung energi kisi, entahlah. 

terus ASSO  yang jumat diganti sama selasa lagiii...  udah 5 minggu, udah mulai keliatan deadline tugas juga. jalaninnya cuma bisa pelan-pelan dan percaya kelar. kadang ada hari dimana gue merasa udah g punya tenaga sama sekali, tpi g yg sampe mau berhenti kuliah, cuma ada takut kalau g bisa selesaikan tugas. mana ada tanggungan revisian yg mana gue selalu ngerasa malu kalau seminggu belum gue balikin, makanya maksimal gue selalu seminggu udah balik. lebih cepat lebih baik. 

hari ini dapat fakta bahwa ada anak februari yg mengundurkan diri, sayang banget tapi mau gimana lagi, prioritas org beda-beda, pilihannya juga beda-beda. dan lagi ternyata BAPAK PEMBIMBING 1 KU JUGA SUKA SERI TEKOTOK DI YUTUB SAMA KAYA AKU WKWKWK. Senang sekali tadi tau dari Ryn. 

Chin, Thankyou sudah sampai minggu ke-5. pasti kelar, pelan-pelan.

Lattoferrina contro il Covid: cos'è e come agisce

Nel corso degli ultimi si sta parlando molto della lattoferrina come possibile rimedio contro il Covid.

In parole povere, si tratta di una proteina globulare situata in particolar modo nel latte, sia quello animale che materno. Ma non è tutto: la lattoferrina risulta essere contenuta anche in una serie di mucose dell’uomo, come ad esempio la saliva e le lacrime.

La funzione principale che essa svolge è di protezione. Proprio per tale motivo, quando agisce funge da barriera nei confronti di infiammazioni (specialmente per il tratto gastrointestinale) e si rivela utile per i più piccoli.

In commercio, la lattoferrina si può trovare tranquillamente sotto forma di integratori ed ha dei costi del tutto accessibili (il prezzo si aggira in media sulle 10 euro a scatolo). Ma cosa c’entrerebbe la lattoferrina con il Coronavirus?

Secondo la prof.ssa Valenti della facoltà di microbiologia di Roma, questa proteina si sta dimostrando valida nel contrastare la sintomatologia. Pertanto, si consiglia in tutti coloro che sono asintomatici o che comunque hanno scoperto da poco la loro positività al virus.

Ecco alcune sue parole in merito:

“I risultati ottenuti dimostrano che la lattoferrina blocca le fasi precoci e, a detta di colleghi dell’Università del Michigan, blocca anche quando la cellula è già infetta”.

Lattoferrina come agisce

Lo studio inerente ai benefici della lattoferrina nei confronti del Covid, è merito dell’ospedale Tor Vergata di Roma.

Pensate che tale scoperta risale a maggio 2020, periodo in cui ci si trovava agli esordi della fase 2. Il tutto è rimasto “segreto” fino a qualche giorno fa, proprio perché si voleva constatarne al meglio l’efficacia. Anche se dando uno sguardo all’International Journal of Molecular Sciences, la teoria fu formulata sin da luglio.

Ma come ben sappiamo, con l’arrivo della stagione estiva, tutte le notizie riguardanti il Coronavirus hanno avuto minor importanza. Forse si pensava che con la diminuzione dei contagi, il virus fosse soltanto un lontano ricordo. Eppure oggi, ci ritroviamo a fronteggiare una seconda ondata.

La notizia riguardante la lattoferrina ha fatto già il giro del web. Di conseguenza, tantissime persone hanno pensato di recarsi in farmacia e richiedere questo integratore che a detta di vari esperti, sembrerebbe fare miracoli.

Ovviamente, non si può parlare di componente miracolosa, altrimenti risulterebbe per alcuni un ottimo compromesso al vaccino. Anche l’Università di Michigan sta effettuando studi approfonditi a riguardo ed è tutto in fase di revisione.

Pertanto, non si sta assolutamente affermando che la lattoferrina possa essere la soluzione definitiva ai sintomi da Coronavirus. Anche perché ogni persona reagisce a modo suo, a seconda del proprio sistema immunitario e di tanti altri fattori.

Lattoferrina come antivirale

A spiegare nel dettaglio le proprietà della lattoferrina ci ha pensato il dottor Cassetta.

Secondo quanto riportato dal sito TPI.it, avrebbe detto così:

“La lattoferrina è una glicoproteina dalle note proprietà antibatteriche e antivirali, come riportato da numerosi studi scientifici. Le sue proprietà antivirali risiedono principalmente nella sua abilità di legarsi ai recettori usati dal virus per entrare nella cellula ospite e impedirne l’infezione” (Fonte TPI.it).

Il fatto che questa proteina globulare risulti essere valida per i sintomi da Covid è soltanto un’ipotesi. Ciò significa che per saperne di più a riguardo, dovremo attendere ancora un po’. A tal proposito, sempre secondo quanto riportato dal sito tpi, il dottor Cassetta ha aggiunto:

“Lo studio delle università di Tor Vergata e La Sapienza suggerisce che la lattoferrina possa esercitare un’azione antivirale legandosi alla proteina Spike S del virus Sars-Cov-2. Tra l’altro, la notizia è stata riportata dai telegiornali con un clamore mediatico a mio avviso eccessivo e prematuro. Seppur promettenti infatti, tali dati necessitano di una rigorosa verifica in un trial clinico randomizzato per poter verificare l’effettiva efficacia di questo trattamento”. (Fonte TPI)
