noah's eyes widen as he brings seojung's cold body closer. there is blood splattered on the walls and the stench of it is so strong noah knows without a doubt that agony was all that filled the empty factory until the end.

he can't blame seojung. but—but the scenes that have been playing as of late start to place things into perspective. they promised they would end one another if they ceased to be who they were—that no matter what, they would give each other that much dignity. maybe this is noah's punishment for promising the sweetness of a lie.

how could it be any different though when seojung is everything to him?

by no means is noah any better. he has built the present with blood and fire. every step towards happiness meant another crack in his soul. these crimes done in the name of his love burn over his consciousness when sleep avoids him. murder piles up in fists that promised justice once.

and noah would do it all over again if it meant seojung can stay alive one more day—if it meant noah can bring them both at least one step closer to freedom.

As he expected, Xerxes had been waiting at the edge of the clearing, ear fins wide open. Upon seeing the state of his charge, and the other troll keeping him upright, the dragon's back arched, head low, tail fin raised and opened. A low growl buzzed from the creature's throat, eyes pulsating in a similar manner to Vyrgyl's.

The lime raises a hand as they approach.

His face burned green at the words that had nearly slipped from his mouth. The dragon dad's stance relaxes a bit, eyes returning to their usual lime color. Those sharp eyes, intelligent, for a lusus, stared into Teagan's for just a moment, before turning and leading the pair to Vyrgyl's homestead.

Once up the ramp and through the door, the wounded troll sank into the well-loved couch, the dim light of the two lava lamps illuminating Vyrgyl from either side.

The renegade removes his shades once more, setting them on the table beside him. With a labored breath, and a deep, shaky sigh, he spoke.

Trembling fingers grasp the stained garment, pulling and unwrapping the warm cloth from around his neck, to reveal what's beneath. Around the base of his neck, below the abnormal skin flaps lining either side, was a golden ring, the front emblazoned with the Sign of the Politic, Aquaza, in signature violet.

Beneath the strange device was a wealth of scarring and discolored skin, peeking up from around the metal that covered it.

A flash of memories plays through his mind on loop, eyes unfocused. The galleon casting a shadow over his hive. The satisfied, uncaring, pitiless smile on a fuchsia's face. The unstable, darkened gaze of a violet's eyes. The steely grip of the drones. The humiliation. The devastation. The unrelenting, unceasing pain.

Sharp, painted fingernails dance over the gleaming metal around his neck, before dropping them to his lap, Vyrgyl's thousand yard stare glancing back up to Teagan, the dark circles beneath his eyes almost darker in the lamplight.

Teagan takes this in, nods slightly and lets Vyrgyl direct the two of them to Vyrgyl's hideout. He lets the other troll lean on him if he needs (or wants) to as they make their way there but doesn't force it.

Everyone has their pride, and this rivalry is pretty new.

Teagan kept his ears on a swivel in case he could hear anything or anyone approaching.

Solar sounded simultaneously so anguished and so betrayed and so furious and so pained with everything he spoke after he killed Sun and I just gahggara AAAAHHHHHH !!!!! I'm so happy we finally know what the monstrous Solar from the cringe dimension was supposed to be and I'm devastated by the fact it leaves Nexus wholly and utterly alone by the end of it.

The entire scenario literally has me lightheaded with joy I need to be put down HEJAGAJAHJSGS
