[Five Hargreeves x Reader]

Summary : You wish Five a Happy Birthday.

Warning : None.

The Hargreeves manor is lively, as are the Hargreeves on October 1st.

The first birthday that they're not only celebrating together, but are actually enjoying together.

Smiling, your gaze trails over all the siblings, taking in the rare sight.

Luther, Sloane, Allison, and Raymond are currently dancing with their respective spouses in the center of the room, on the makeshift stage that everyone created together.

Diego is massaging Lila's feet as she sits on the sofa, pregnancy takes a lot of energy, and she's tired, but insisted on staying with everyone else, stating : "I'd like to enjoy my birthday in whatever peace I can before the little menace comes."

Klaus is over at the bar along with Five, both chatting and drinking.

A small yelp comes from behind you, you glance back in the kitchen, catching sight of Ben and Claire, enjoying the cake. Giggling, Claire smears a bit of the cake on Ben's face, making a game out of it.

Huh…

Eyes flicking between the cake and Five, mischief brews in your mind.

You walk inside the kitchen. Ben and Claire turn to you, the former raising a brow. "Don't mind me," you say. "I'm just here to get some ammunition."

Ben understands at once, grinning at you as he pushes the cake towards you without a word.

Collecting a small amount of cream from it, you flash them a smile, folding your hands behind your back. Turning around, you march straight towards Five.

He stops saying whatever he's saying to Klaus as he catches sight of you walking up to him.

"Ben's in the kitchen, Klaus," you tell him, gaze not breaking away from Five.

"Ah gotcha!" Klaus replies, taking that as his cue to leave. "Don't do anything I wouldn't do," he advises before going off.

You stamp down the blush that threatens to appear on your face. Stepping closer to Five. "Enjoying yourself?"

"Well, I've got drinks to numb down the stupidity, so, I'd say it's tolerable enough." He turns in your direction, pinning you down with his eyes.

Instead of saying anything, you lean over and plant a soft kiss on his cheek, rendering him dumbstruck for a few moments.

Using his moment of surprise, you smear cake cream over his cheek in a quick movement.

His hand goes up to touch his cheek, gaze flickering over it as it comes away stained with cream.

A pause.

Five blinks. Once. Twice.

Eyes fixing on you.

"Run."

And you do.

Laughing, you run all around the manor as Five chases after you without using his powers, dodging him, you take the stairs to the rooftop.

There's another door you can take—

His hands grab you by your waist, mouth hovering by your ear, he whispers playfully, "Caught you."

He spins you around, the sound of light chuckles fills the empty roof. Stopping and letting his cream stained cheek graze yours.

Your laughter dwindles, both staying in the same position. His hands on your waist turning from a grip to an almost hug from the back, you let your head fall on his shoulder.

Eyes falling shut as you both enjoy being with each other.

Your gaze flutters open to find him looking down at you with a fond expression. He nuzzles his nose in your cheek. "I adore you."

Smiling up at him in response, you tilt your face up, kissing next to the corner of his lips.

"Happy Birthday, Five."

Okay, i am not sure if the Sparrows even own phones or anything that can play music besides like, a gramophone, but i 100% believe Alphonso would like musicals. Legally Blonde, Waitress, Six, Hamilton, Mamma Mia, you name it, he’d probably have it on record. He would probably keep them under his bed or something with a record player, i also get a strong sense he’d like ABBA or Dead or alive (or in general 70s/80s pop music). He’d be a music nerd, is what im saying, and i mean that with love. If you were ever at his house he’d definitely show you his collection of vinyls, talking your ear off about details about the bands or album itself, whether or not you’d actually understand anything is up for interpretation but its something that makes him happy so your more than happy to listen.

He doesn’t do it often, mostly because he doesn’t want to, but Alphonso can cook very well. The only reason he doesn’t do it often is because he doesn’t really enjoy cooking for other people (except for Jayme & someone close to him). He once got caught cooking by Marcus & was then forced to cook dinner by the family, despite his mild protesting.

Despite his outwardly, well, asshole-ish type personality, he’s actually a sucker for sappy things. He didn’t get a lot of love growing up (he’s Reggie’s kid, cmon) simple things actually hit him hard in the heart strings, even if he wont verbally admit it or physically indicate it. An “Im proud of you”, or a good hug after a long day really goes a long way for him, honestly. He really appreciates when people look out for him too, sure he can hold his own in a battle of wits, but its always nice to be reassured he has people in his corner who care enough about him to stick up for him. He won’t thank them or anything, but he’ll be thinking about that interaction for a long, long time.

This could be just a me thing, but i personally think Alphonso is italian (though theres probably more proof of him being spanish if you count him referring to himself as “numero cuatro” while talking to luther in episode two), so i also like to think when he’s not with the rest of his family, either with y/n or Jayme, he probably mutters to himself in italian. I honestly just choose to believe that the hargreeves all learnt their mother’s dialect, except for luther who never quite grasped it (but that’s an idea for another post 👀)

So, I'm writting a five fanfic, and come across the need to search up Dolores' name meaning.

It means "lady of sorrows" I am unwell.

It makes so much sense, I'm crying rn.

Anyway, I ranked the umbrella academy powers (least to most powerful)

14. Luther, enhanced strength and resilience. I'm sorry but he's kinda useless and very slow in fights. (yes I will be brutally honest with my opinions)

13. Marcus, super strength but more agile. Only ranks higher than Luther cause he can actually fight and is a better number 1 in my opinion.

12. Jayme, Hallucinogenic Spit. Don't get me wrong I think she's awesome, but her powers are kinda eh and not very useful in a fight.

11. Alphonso, Empathetic Masochism. A pretty good power, and quite useful in a fight. Ranks lower cause he also seems pretty slow in fights. possible that his power requires a lot of energy, cause he seemed to get tired when fighting Diego.

10. Fei, Crow Manifestation. Again, she's cool. ranks slightly lower cause her power isn't as good as some of the others. Not a bad power though.

9. Diego, trajectory manipulation. Struggled with this one because of the end of s2 with the bullets. Really good power but a bit confusing as to what it actually is? Breathing underwater isn't emphasised enough in the show.

8. Sloane, gravity control. She has the ability to literally fly, but again not as dangerous/effective as some of the other powers.

7. Ben, Eldritch Tentacles. (I love the name) Seems to take effort, even though they are strong. Also can be injured and affect his ability.

6. Klaus, Mediumship. Has other powers in the comics not brought to attention in show. Powerful but can be overwhelming for Klaus due to his past. Also depends on how sober he is.

5. Allison, Vocal Reality Manipulation. Powerful, but she has to be able to speak, and say the phrase "I heard a rumour" for it to be effective. Overall, very powerful, though it comes with a cost.

4. Five, space-time manipulation. Incredibly powerful and very useful in a fight, but does take up energy, and certain things can affect it. Ability of time travel makes it super powerful, and one of the best abilities to have.

3. Lila, mimicry. I originally put Lila first, but changed it, as she needs someone to mimic her powers from. She can also only mimic one at a time.

2. Vanya/Viktor, harness and manipulate sound and energy. Super powerful and very dangerous if affected by emotion. When controlled can be absolutely terrifying.

1. Christopher, Electricity Generation, Cold Inducement, Fear Inducement, Paralysis Inducement. This cube thing trapped a LITERAL GRANDFATHER PARADOX, and has almost the exact same powers as Viktor. Not only that but is incredibly difficult to injure on account of being a literal fucking floating cube. I feel so bad for the poor woman who had to birth a cube, honestly.
