Francis McGee is seventy one years old and was born on November 5th, 1946 in Portland, Oregon. He studied at Emory University in Atlanta, and joined the New York Philharmonic as a double bassist, where he met his wife. Despite their travels, they raised their children in the family manor in Macon, Georgia, where they stayed after their retirement until their youngest child went to college. He currently resides in Atlanta, where he teaches a Music Appreciation class at Emory. His faceclaim is Steve Martin. 

Beatrice Ergo is seventy years old and was born on April 12th, 1947 in Cochem, Germany. After emigrating to the United States on a student visa, she studied at the Juilliard School and joined the New York Philharmonic as a cellist, where she met her husband. She moved to Macon, Georgia on the heels of her husband and applied for her citizenship long before the birth of their first child. She currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia, where she gives cello and piano lessons to aspiring musicians. Her faceclaim is Susan Sarandon.

Brenda McGee is forty years old and was born on December 3rd, 1977 in Macon, Georgia. She studied at the Julliard School, where she met her husband, and joined the New York Philharmonic as a harpist. With Peter Jones, she had one child, now twelve--Daphne Jones. Brenda and Peter divorced when Daphne was ten years old and Brenda and Daphne currently reside in Manhattan, New York. Her faceclaim is Emily Deschanel. 

Mikayla McGee is thirty seven years old and was born on March 18th, 1980 in Macon, Georgia. She studied at the Juilliard School and signed on with the London Symphonic Orchestra as a piccolo player. She currently resides in Windlesham, England, and is the proud mother of four sphinx cats named Ludwig, Wolfgang, Johannes, and Franz. Her faceclaim is Zooey Deschanel. 

Alice Harrot is thirty five years old and was born on February 9th, 1982 in Macon, Georgia. She studied at the Juilliard School and met her husband, Dean Harrot during a spring trip to Chicago. Shortly after, she signed on as a pianist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and currently resides in Chicago. Dean and Alice are the loving parents of two Pomeranians, named Brahms and Bowie. Her faceclaim is Olivia Wilde. 

Josh McGee is thirty five years old and was born on August 30th, 1982 to Jenny and Jimmy Arian in Stuart, Florida. Orphaned at five years old after the arrest of his drug dealer parents, Josh was adopted by Beatrice and Francis when he was six years old. He studied at the Juilliard School and was recruited as a Timpani player by the Vienna Philharmonic. He currently resides in Vienna, Austria with his girlfriend, Annette Mosoriakova, who he met at a charity event in Salzburg. His faceclaim is Rami Malek.

Leighanne Bilodeau is thirty years old and was born on May 22nd, 1987 to Alastair and Wendy Baker in Macon, Georgia. After the death of her parents when she was a tender two years old, she was adopted by Francis and Beatrice McGee. She studied at the Juilliard School. She currently resides in Paris, France, where she is employed as a violinist with La Chapelle Royale. She married Adeline Bilodeau after meeting the woman in La Chapelle Royale. The couple plan to start a family soon. Her faceclaim is Antonia Thomas. 

Joseph McGee is twenty five years old and was born in Atlanta, Georgia on April 4th, 1992. Dropped off at Ebeneezer Baptist Church the day he was born, his parents are unknown, but he spent only one year in the foster system before he was adopted by Francis and Beatrice McGee. He studied at the Juilliard School and signed on as a tuba player for the Cleveland Orchestra. He lives just outside of Cleveland in Independence, Ohio, with his best friend. His faceclaim is Jacob Artist. 

Daniel McGee is twenty one years old and was born on October 31, 1996 in Decatur, Georgia to Eileen and Shawn Wilder. A drunk and an abusive husband, Shawn beat Eileen to near death when Daniel was three years old. Shawn was locked up, but Eileen died from her injuries and Daniel bounced around the system until he was ten years old and was adopted by Beatrice and Francis McGee. He studied at the Juilliard School for a year before transferring to the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich after being recruited by the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra for his skill in playing the Oboe. He currently resides in Munich, Germany and is a Senior in college. His faceclaim is Booboo Stewart.

Finn McGee is nineteen years old and was born on June 19th, 1997 in Macon, Georgia. The youngest of eight children, Finn is the only McGee child to pursue a passion other than music. He currently lives in Seacrest Cove, California, where he is an Elementary Education major at the local University. Finn keeps in contact with his family, but is closest to Leighanne. He is a Sophomore in college. His faceclaim is Matthew Gray Gubler.

Task 2 (Audio Acquisition)

Part 1, My Script

In order to create my narrative, I had to play my chosen game. This helped with what I was going to say and what I wanted to comment on, in particular. Such as graphics quality, character movement, sounds, story quality, character abilities and any negative thoughts that I may have about the game.

When it came to writing my script I had to think of how to make it sound like a gaming podcast and a gaming radio review.

So I researched gamers on YouTube, finding Markiplier (a popular American YouTuber known for his lets plays), Jacksepticeye (an Irish YouTuber who also does lets plays), and TheEnglishSimmer (a British YouTuber known for her Sims families, reviews and challenges). Noting their style of happy and bouncy dialogue even in their lets plays of horror games, I chose to copy it as well as their style of YouTube account names.

Having chosen myself a listener-friendly nickname I started to construct a sort of character profile, deciding on a style speech and presentation, the type of show that they would create and which direction they would want to take this show/podcast.

Once this character was created, I started work on writing the script. I added in all my character’s quirks and edited my speech/writing style to their’s into my notes on the game, as well as adding in some research into the game itself.

Though I didn’t know which sounds I wanted to use and where to put them, I tried to outline where they would go by creating a new paragraph where I would naturally finish one point and move on to another.

Upon completion, I handed it into my lecturer for a proof read. Taking his thoughts and criticisms on board before making any and all edits.

Step 2, Recording/acquiring my Audio

Once my script was written and proofread, I moved on to recording my narrative for my Podcast/Radioshow. This consisted of finding a quiet place to record, reducing the chance of background noise. I was given access to my lecturer’s office and a bidirectional recorder to record my narrative.

I also recorded my gameplay on my laptop through the use of a gameplay recording program, NVIDIA ShadowPlay.

I had to source jingles sounds from the internet, as well as background music for parts of my recording and an exit tune/sound.

Newton “Newt” Collins

Newton is Kizzie's birth father. He officially divorced his ex-wife soon after she left him and Kizzie after her birth. Nearly a year later he gave into his feelings for Kizzie's Obstetrician and the two entered a relationship. He and Kizzie grew close due to living alone together during her first year and he considers her his best friend. He is married to Garret and, despite an initial rough period, his community has come to accept his family. Kizzie refers to him as “Daddy”. Garett Haywood-Collins

Garrett is Kizzie's step-father. He delivered Kizzie when she was born. After her mother left the family, he made it a point to keep checking in on the family. After nearly a year, he and Newton fell in love and entered a relationship. Garrett left his career as an Obstetrician and pursued his art dream while staying home to take care of Kizzie. He is responsible for selling the goods and produce that are grown and created on the Collins family farm at the local farmer’s market every Saturday. He is married to Newton. Cassidy Collins (neé Mercer)

Kizzie's mother. Kizzie knows next to nothing about her mother, all she knows is her name and that she left her father soon after she was born. All Kizzie has of her is a picture on her and her father's wedding day. Kizzie claims her mother leaving was the best thing that ever happened to her but, deep down, she would like information on her and her whereabouts and, maybe, to even meet her. Last she heard (aka learned from snooping) that her mother lives somewhere in California.

Kizzie is a junior at Sea Crest Cove University, studying Music Therapy and minoring in Photography. With adventure in her bones and an ever present smile, Kizzie finds each day as a chance to do something new and make lasting memories. Growing up on a farm in Savannah, GA has taught her that dedication and hard work can go a long way, thus when her mind is set on something she will not rest until she achieves her goal. While earning an equestrian scholarship to the prestigious school, the biggest reason she chose to attend university across the country was to secretly find more about her missing mom. Task two- Reflection

I think this task was a really useful exercise for me to do. I liked being more open and loose with how I design characters, as I often have a lot of my characters looking very similar, and I don’t really play around with different ways my characters look. I think this exercise led me to making some really weird characters that I think are striking and I’d like to use them in further projects. I also really liked making up a plot and scenarios by randomly watching different episodes of tv shows and making plot points through that. I think I can get really stuck in my own ideas of what a comic should be when I’m working, and this was an amazing way of getting out of my head and creating some interesting work.

Matthew Wallace  - A contractor, Matthew Wallace worked long hours while Gabe was growing up. He never felt really connected to his father even when he was young. Matthew was from the old era of parenting where it was the mother’s job to love and nurture the children, and the father’s job to provide for them. Even after the birth of his second child, he was never exactly good with children. Gabe remembers him as a stern, fairly uncomfortable man who only seemed to thaw when his wife was around to help encourage the conversation. After her death, he was completely lost, almost stopped talking all together, and disappeared for days on end.  (Michael Fassbender)

Gloria Aris Wallace - An art teacher with a sunny disposition and a good sense of humor, Gabe worries that his memories of Gloria are far from accurate. She is, after all, colored by the nostalgic glow of a parent lost too soon. Was she shrill, or vapid, or passive? Gabe doesn’t know. He only remembers her as physically affectionate, crafty, constantly covered in glitter or paint- always laughing at a stupid joke Gabe had thought up, or coming up with a chorus for a song he had made up on the spot.  (Audrey Tautou)

Rebekah (Bekah) ? - Idealistic, stubborn, and short tempered, Bekah was constantly trying to return to their old home after they were put in foster care. She told Gabe that she was sure if she found their dad and told him how terrible things were, he would take them back, and wouldn’t listen to Gabe when he begged her to keep her head down. After an incident in which their foster mother at the time slapped her for mouthing off and Gabe shoved her into a wall for it, their social worker separated them, deeming it ‘best for all involved’. Gabe has spent some time looking for her on social media, but has thus far been unsuccessful in finding her- or their father. (Emmy Rossum)

Aquela semana estava sendo mais movimentada para Colin do que ele imaginaria. Com o resultado da Truth Booth, veio também uma grande briga com James e uma ficada não tão simples com Angelique, coisas que nunca se passariam pela mente do garoto Hilford há uma semana. Quando foram chamados para o segundo desafio da casa, Colin sentiu-se melhor no mesmo instante, ansioso para se esquecer de todos os problemas e focar-se apenas no desafio, afinal, não queria ir para a Truth Booth tão cedo e sabia que James o mandaria para lá caso ganhasse a prova. Descobriu assim que chegou ao local que a sua dupla para a “Caça ao tesouro” seria Christie, uma garota bacana que conheceu logo no primeiro dia do programa e que já tinha criado um vínculo bom o suficiente para realizar o objetivo do desafio sem muitas desavenças.  — Vamos ler isso aqui, Christie. Olha que maravilha. — disse assim que avistou o aviso no andar de baixo, em um quadro cinza com letras azuis, explicando o desafio. Leu tudo com atenção, esboçando uma careta confusa logo quando terminou, olhando para os lados e avistando várias bolas de beisebol em um recipiente. — Oh, será que vamos ter que jogar? Eu sou ótimo nisso. — alegrou-se no mesmo instante, pegando uma bolinha qualquer e balançando no alto. No meio de sua brincadeira momentânea, percebeu que a bolinha que tinha pegado tinha dois nomes gravados, “Caleb e Acacia”. — Ops, essa não é a nossa, eu acho? — riu, colocando a bola de volta no local e começando a procurar por uma com o seu nome e o de Christie, meio impaciente por ter que ler tudo àquilo em pouco tempo.

Colin estava realmente ansioso para ganhar aquele desafio, justamente pelo o prêmio: Ganhar o poder de levar algum casal para a Truth Booth. Ele já tinha o seu palpite sobre o próximo casal da casa e não queria desperdiçar isso dando a vitória para outro participante, que, provavelmente, não fazia a mínima ideia de quem indicar para a tal cabaninha do medo. Não queria sair da casa sem o prêmio em dinheiro, e, principalmente, não queria sair da casa sem encontrar o seu par ideal. Enquanto procurava a bola de beisebol com seus nomes, olhou para Christie, que estava parada ao seu lado, provavelmente esperando algo para fazer. — Oh, sim, vá atrás de um taco de beisebol enquanto eu procuro isso aqui, deve ter um na dispensa ou lá fora, não sei. Devem ter colocado um na casa. — disse meio apressado, tirando todas as bolas do recipiente e jogando-as no alto, meio desesperado por não conseguir encontrar a sua. Hilford nunca teve paciência em encontrar coisas, porque sempre fora um garoto extremamente desajeitado, então aquilo estava sendo no mínimo perturbador.  Assim que conseguiu encontrar a tal bola com seus nomes, a levantou para o alto, fazendo uma dança desajeitada de semi-vitória, sentando-se no chão para esperar por Christie e o taco de beisebol.

Task 2

This task consists of acquiring/recording the sounds/narrative that I’m going to use in this Audio Editing Project. I have to gather the required digital material as defined in my plan. 

My recordings should be uncompressed and be of suitable quality in terms of digital audio format and sampling rate. This is because you lose quality as you compress any type of audio or video files, meaning already compressed audio loses more quality.

While acquiring the audio from the computer, regards should be given to ambient noise, electrically generated interference and health and safety issues in meeting the needs of the brief.

During and after acquisition I must:

ensure all recordings, whether these are going to be used or not, are clearly labelled and identified with a date, student name, class and project title

create a list of all acquired digital audio content and storage locations

ensure I follow current health and safety legislation and reference must be made of this in the log sheet

produce a log sheet of the acquired digital material, outlining any problems and how these were addressed

create a list of the copyright status of all elements of the audio and where required, records of copyright clearances.

Who’s their favorite musical artist(s)? Katy Perry, Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, Kelly Clarkson

What is their favorite TV show/movie? TV show: NCIS; movie: Singin' in the Rain

What’s their favorite food? Pizza. Or any of his mom's home cooking.

What do they think is their best quality? His ability to be a leader.  

Did they work anywhere? Worked as a barista temporarily back home.

Any hobbies? Writing songs, playing piano and guitar.

Have they ever kept a journal? If so, do they keep writing in it? What is inside? In high school, he kept a short log every week.

What do their parents look like? Extra points if you have an idea what their face claims would be. His father is a tall man with brown hair and a no-nonsense face; his mother is a shorter woman with dark brown-black hair and a soft face; Blaine resembles his mother more than his father but he has some of his father's features.

Do they have siblings? What’s their relationship with them like? One older brother -- 8-year age difference -- named Cooper. They are very close. Blaine was living with him before coming to Belgium.

Any pets? None, but he wants a puppy.

Have they been in a relationship before? How did that go and why did they break up? Bonus points if you have an idea of what face claim they would be. None. He had a crush in high school.

Are they allergic to anything? If they are, what happens when they are to exposed to the trigger? Not really, just springtime allergies. He gets stuffy during the springtime.

Do they drink, smoke, or do drugs? If so, how often? He has a casual drink with his brother every now and then. No smoking or drugs.

What is the best compliment they have ever received in their opinion? "You're stronger than the people who hurt you." -- from his brother.

Do they want children? He wants a husband, children, a pet dog, and a parakeet.

Are they clean or messy? A bit of both. Depends on the day.

Have they ever seen a therapist/councilor outside of the house? Yes.

How many pillows do they sleep with? Two. One on his side and lays on one.

What is an accessory or piece of clothing that would be signature for them? A leather bracelet that has the word 'courage' engraved on it.

How big was their house? How many stories, rooms, bathrooms, etc? What was their favorite room to be in? His dad's house was rather big. Three stories, 6 rooms, 3.5 bathrooms. He loved his room because it was also his music room.

What were the wall color of their room? Blue and black. For a while he shared his room with his brother and there was a Millenium Falcon painted on the wall.

How old are you and what is your date of birth? I am 17 and was born on the 18th of January

What is your favourite subject? Transfigurations. And Quidditch, but that's not really a subject!

What is your least favourite? History of Magic, while I love the subject, the class is so boring!

What is your favourite spell? Uhm.... That would have to be Wingardium Leviosa or Accio

What is your favourite memory at Hogwarts? Meeting Dorcas, and later on Moira Durane.

What is your favourite childhood memory? Our family holidays by the sea. I loved going there and it's a shame we haven't been for a long time.

Who is your best friend? Dorcas Meadowes. She's one of the only ones that will put up with my nonsense and she's awesome for that and many other reasons.

How is your relationship with your parents? The relationship with my mum is amazing, it has always been. The one with my dad could be better but for some reason it's just difficult.

Are you currently in a relationship or have you ever been in one? Have you ever been in love? I am currently dating the beautiful Moira Durane, and I'm very much in love, yes.

Who is your role model? My sister. How she handles those kids and is still brilliant, it's stunning, and I can't wait to end up like her with a little less kids that is.

If you could go back and change one thing about your life. What would if be and why? Be closer to my brother than I am now, I miss the relationship we used to have, we were a team and right now we're more divided.
