NPR: Science experiments and endless enthusiasm led a physics professor to TikTok stardom
"As part of the physics department's extensive outreach program, she also puts on shows almost every week teaching physics to K-12 students. The sooner kids are taught physics and taught it well, the better, she says.
It's clear she knows what it takes to get young people excited about a hard science. But it wasn't always that way." @NPR
I have a request for 2012 Donnie reacting to like, mad scientist girl??
Like, imagine a mixture of mikey and donnie? Absolutely unhinged but insanely intelligent?
Like this lady- ---> https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=tatiana+erukhimova+&&view=detail&mid=302538BD9E7CE6A97FEB302538BD9E7CE6A97FEB&&FORM=VRDGAR&ru=%2Fvideos%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dtatiana%2Berukhimova%2B%26FORM%3DHDRSC4
She knows a lot about scientific theory (especially about space) but doesn't have the executive knowledge to use it like Donnie does. Uses it more to do weird crazy shit to amaze Mikey. Like, insanely intelligent when it comes to knowing space philosophy but an absolute idiot when it comes to actual useful things like mathematics. Goes off on tangents about Dr. Arthur Eddington's "internal constitution of the stars" but cannot do multiplication without crying.
Always tries to help Donnie and tries to understand machinery, tech and mathematics but goes straight over her head.
Is this a self-insert? Possibly. :)
Thank you!
I Like A Girl… Mad Scientist?!
Version: Tmnt 2012
Character: Donatello
Warning: None
• Donatello is a complete genius who can do anything with whatever is available to him, we have seen him use scrap metal, train cars, alien technology, etc.
• And he had a scientific girl in front of him, if he thought that perfection did not exist, he was wrong the moment he met her.
• His heart was stolen by meeting a certain girl who shared his same taste for science.
• Even though there was a problem.
• He found out that the girl he had a crush on... was practically a mad scientist.
• He discovered it when he discovered Mikey in his lab, he was going to the lab with the intention of kicking him out of his workspace, but upon entering he saw Y/N showing Mikey what happens when nitrogen comes into contact with boiling water and What was expected happened… A Huge Gas Explosion!
• There was a mixture of mixed feelings that he couldn't decipher when he witnessed that.
• And it wasn't just once, there were several occasions when he found her doing different experiments to have fun with Mikey or play a joke on the rest of his brothers.
• It was like she was dating a version of Mikey but being very smart.
• She could see how Mikey was so amused when she explained “Bernoulli's principle” with a couple of Ping Pong balls and a hair dryer.
• But when it came to getting the result of a complex math equation, she would literally shut down. (At least she knew that wasn't her forte)
• And just like Mikey she managed to understand Krang science perfectly, she only left her for a couple of minutes with a piece of her technology and she was already explaining how it works.
• Someone was able to explain to HIM about something.
• Something was clear, they were a great team, while Donnie was the logic, Ella was the dynamic.
• Maybe her methods weren't the same but that didn't mean they couldn't complement each other.
• Every experiment she created only caused her to steal his heart a little more each day.
• Donnie would turn into a complete lovesick jerk when she was next to her.
• Although he had to watch her every time she got a bit of nitrogen in her hands, or surely there would be a huge explosion in her lab…again.
• she Maybe she met a Mad Scientist… but she WAS HIS mad scientist.
I quite enjoyed making this request, and I think I'm now a fan of “Dr. Tatiana Erukhimova”. She is Just Great.

I know I've told the story here before, but I actually found the Netflix promotional shirt I wore to work an after-hours Blockbuster store inventory back in 2000
Honorable Mentions:
My 1,152 Followers (Up 33% from last year).
[tumblr]’s own Year in Review generator , which only lists half the posts of @jetblackcode‘s TumblrTop10 but does offer up a bunch of other stats.
My Miette Halloween Costume post from 2021, which last year at this time was at 428 Notes, but blew up this year and is at 6186 Notes, becoming my most popular post ever.
My reply to a video of Dr. Tatiana Erukhimova stabbing a potato with a knife and hammer, consisting of an image of Bill Nye captioned “Inertia is a property of Matter”. None of the [tumblr] stats tools that I’ve found tell you what your most popular reblogs are, but I was seeing likes and reblogs on that reblog several times a day every day for a few months.
Similarly, my replies to posts by both spitblaze and chansaw. If I had a nickel for every time someone posted advice to new [tumblr] users that was just the text of “This is not a place of honor ...” long term nuclear waste burial site warning, and I replied with a photoshop of the DashCon Ball Pit in front of the proposed “Field of Spikes” warning monument ... I’d have two nickles, but it’s weird that it happened twice. But one of those posts inspired @th3b33skn33s to draw some wonderful art of a genetically engineered Ray Cat hissing angrily at the [tumblr] t in the ball pit as its bio-luminescence genes are triggered by the elevated radiation.
Some impromptu crafting the other day to make more storage for my ever expanding dice collection inspired others to go do the same.
The couch was not the only new furniture that the housepanthers had to adjust to.
Like everyone else, I had a post queued for the April First Crash.
I mess around with Hero Forge a lot, and post my stuff here and on the /r/heroforgeminis/ subreddit. The CEO of the company saw a .gif I had made, and decided that .gif making needed to be an official feature.
The Netflix shirt from 2000 mentioned above, that I found while emptying out my storage unit, wasn’t the only treasure unearthed. This Big Mac styrofoam clamshell did better numbers on reddit than here, but my most popular reddit post is still only a third the size of my most popular [tumblr] post.
And if you hadn’t noticed from two fifths of the top ten list, the household has new cats this year. We still miss the old boys especially around the holidays, but the Voids bring us much love and laughter.

Despite women making up about half of the U.S. population, they earn just 25% of bachelor’s degrees in physics. That’s part of why beloved Texas A&M physics professor Dr. Tatiana Erukhimova has made it her mission to show her students that when they are in her class, there are no limits. CBS News contributor…
A demonstration is not an “experiment”. Why write an article using “experiment” to describe a demonstration? Think, people, think, words have meaning. An experiment has an unknown outcome. You learn from the result. Myth busters engaged in experiments. They tested things. A demonstration has fixed expectations and known results. It better. Some of these things are very potentially dangerous. If you don’t know what you are doing, it becomes a “dare”, not even a stunt.
