I tried to go to the Takagin tag and...why is there so much "Takasugi is a murderer and a psychopath" kind of takes ? ? ? Like we haven't seen most of the characters murder others without mercy or care.
Like the number of "I prefer this ship because at least Gintoki won't be with a murderer" is like...for one thing most of the time wrong except for maybe Otae ? (Even then by the end I'm pretty sure she's killed ppl too tho it's mostly in defense of her home so she does get a pass). But also...he may be a very kind person (deep deep deep down) but Gintoki's reputation as a monster is not unearned....
Like don't get me wrong it's Gintama and Gintoki has flirted with 99% of the cast so even if I don't ship it, you do you, but so many of the arguments against Takagin are bogus in the general context of the story.
The only character who actually has an issue with this is Kagura (so a lot of her more serious arcs turn around that subject so her family and Sougo are often kinda to incredibly linked to it depending on who we're talking about). And maaaaaybe Murata Tetsuya and Tetsuko in the Benizakura arc...kinda. And the issue is for themselves. They don't really care that much about others. so even then using it for ship analysis is....strange and kind of weird considering the series concerned...
-a GinTsu shipper who started kinda shipping TakaGin 'cause it's a different version of the same ship and who ultimately does not care about shipping 'cause it's Gintama and everybody's a little bit in love with Gintoki while wanting to kill him but would still like to not get so many insults in a tag of a ship that's sadly, kind of a rare pair...

Hello there! For the mini event may you please do gintama with the au avatar the last airbender, thank you!
Hello there, my lovely anon! I definitely can do that - I really couldn't come up with solid ideas, so I admit to taking the lazy way out, so have a pretty comprehensive list on what type of Benders everyone would be in this AU! And guys, there are so many characters in Gintama so I swear it wasn't as easy and lazy as it looks! Thanks for sending in a request and I hope you'll enjoy!
Okay, so we're going into this AU with there being the four major bending types - Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Each bending type is as it is portrayed in Avatar: The Last Airbender, with people possessing different degrees of bending and different skills being present within each bending type.
So, when considering which type of Bender each character would be, I kind of broke it down into personality types and traits and qualities to look for, based on what I figure the 'stereotypical' Bender is for each of the four.
Earth Benders are a little rough around the edges, slow to anger, slow to decide on things, but stubborn once their mind is made up. They can be sensitive and they are often very patient.
Air Benders are gentle souls, respectful and adaptable, changeable. They're fast, both in their movements and in their thoughts.
Water Benders are typically calm and easy-going, flexible enough to adapt to their companions or situations. They're often quite easy to talk to and rather content with their lives.
Fire Benders are often prideful and confident individuals who are loyal, determined and ambitious. They can be very playful and fun but they often also have very short fuses on their tempers, which can be very volatile and explosive.
Keeping that in mind, this is what I figure the characters would be for Benders.

Ramble#10
This episode is about one shots and other stuff
For those unfamiliar with the term one shot, it refers to a type of release that's only one chapter in length, length here being anywhere from as little as 5 to even 50+ pages, some serving as pilots for serialization hopefuls and others meant simply to be serve as one off self contained stories… one shots
and other stuff… is… other stuff is basically just me fucking around in mine and other folks PTR/plan to read list.. getting back to the roots of picking up random stuff just because they look nice, similar or completely unlike stuff I've seen or just other works by a mangaka whose work I liked
Before I go any further I want to mention a few twitter accounts I've probably mentioned before and definitely will mention again, great accounts if you're trying to expand your palette and see the breadth of what the medium has to offer, they tend to highlight manga from all over, buying a bunch of the different magazines and everything, much respect to them
@mangamogurare, @wsstalkback, @KushiKuritikaru & @lewdsnreviews
now how I'm gonna go about this is the first half is for one shots read before and during this month and the second half is other stuff
one shots past:
shot 5 - count over (2018) by Shindou Masaoki (from ruri dragon.. rip)
shot 4 - the nightmare of fabrication (1998) by Yoshitoshi ABe
shot 3 - death note A-Kira (2020) by Oh! Great
shot 2 - look back, sayonara eri, just listen to the song by tatsuki fujimoto (2021 - 2022)
shot 1 - golem hearts (2017) by Gen Oosuka (Doron dororon) (reminds me of tabata and hungry joker)
one shots now:
shot 5 - lone wolf (2019) by Hiromasa Okujima
Tumblr media
shot 4 - yiska (2018) by Waka Hirako
Tumblr media
shot 3 - harukoma (2013) by Aki Irie
Tumblr media
shot 2 - semi eternal happy end (2002) by Shiyuu Machida
Tumblr media
shot 1 - shikaku, koi wa moumoko, sasaki stopped the bullet, nayuta of the end, imouto no ane, ningyo no rhapsody by tatsuki fujimoto (2021) [chainsaw man anime!!!]
Tumblr media
basically a bunch of one shots from tatsuki fujimoto
other stuff past:
5 - acca 13 (2013-2016) by Natsume Ono, 37 chapters
4 - eye shield 21 (2002-2009) by Richirou Inagaki on story and yuusuke murata, 333 chapters
3 - animal land (2009-2014) by Makoto Raiku (zatch bell, zatch bell 2), 56 chapters
2 - Feng shen ji(2010-2014) by Jianhe Zheng, 182 chapters
1 - spirit circle(2012 - 2016) by Satoshi Mizukami, 46 chapters
other stuff now:
5 - prophecy (2011-2013) by Tetsuya Tsutsui
Tumblr media
some dude with a newspaper over his face posts videos online declaring some punishment for some wrongdoer
this gains him attention from the indifferent, haters, adorers and ofc the police
the story escalates with the increasing social status of the targets along with the declared punishments dished out
pretty neat cast, good art, very satisfying conclusion
22 chapters (sort of reminded me of a shorter akumetsu?)
4 - ping pong (1996-1997) by Taiyou Matsumoto
not much to say except really really good, it's sports so you know winning and losing came up, goals, drive, expectations, limitations, all really sold by the art and the characters in how the players viewed the sport, opponents, themselves and etc.
Tumblr media
sports manga, and I have to say, though I am a big fan of the sport, as in playing it, I don't think not being a fan of, or not knowing anything about PP/TT or any sport for that matter will affect how you feel about this or any sports manga
55 chapters
3 - about the movement of the earth (2020-2022) by Uoto
idk what else they would have called it tbh but this manga is about the quest of astronomers back in the day, to prove the earth moved, specifically that it orbited the sun, and the persecution they faced from the Catholic church in doing so
Tumblr media
62 chapters about 58 translated on mangadex
not the greatest of art but seeing all these folks passing along their research to strangers down through time, the aspirations and beliefs of those who carried the torch knowingly or unknowingly, willingly or unwillingly was really rad
2 - die wergelder (2010 -ongoing) by Hiroaki Samura
if I had to be quick about it I'd say kill bill with extra pulp
Tumblr media
basically the story revolves around 3 women and some missing suitcases originally meant to be used in a Yakuza deal
very sick character designs paired with very sick action, if
you've read blade of the immortal you know what I mean,
great cast, very dope dialogue, pretty enticing and unfolding story so far
31 chapters out
I have to say hiroaki writes some great women, right up there with fujimoto
1 - the fable(2014-2019) by Katsuhisa Minami,
hitman on vacation in the care of some Yakuza
stuff get a little out of hand with the Yakuza, getting a job to blend in, old enemies, new friends you name it
fucking hilarious
Tumblr media
240 chapters
hm: wave, listen to me, magi of the library & the walking cat, a cat's eye view of the zombie apocalypse
then I get into a little part 2 just talking about some other other stuff
