Now I will briefly mention the obvious of how I absolutely LOVE and adore tarlos! TK and Carlos are amazing separately but together they are absolute perfection! I am sooo happy I found a show to obsess over with a canon gay couple that are written and acted so damn well! But I digress 😆

Something else I absolutely love about Lone Star is the diversity among the 10 main characters!! We have been gifted characters of different races, backgrounds, sexualities, genders, ages, and it is a great example of why diversity is soooo important! These characters mesh together so well and they learn from each other and grow with each other! I can't think of many other shows I've watched where their is a main cast of TEN people and I love and adore all of their characters to some degree! And having many diverse characters means they can give us sooo many different stories!

And then something I think Lone Star has absolutely nailed is the foundation of this show, the Found Family aspect!! These characters are a family and you can easily feel that between all of them! They have been with each other through some of their best and absolute worst days. This can tie into, "something I'd like to see in season 5" is I really hope they show this more again because I do think it was lost a bit in season 4, although s4e12 Swipe Left, with the majority of the cast chaperoning Marjan's dates made me so damn happy, and the fact that Owen was like, "Marjan, you do have family right here." Give me more of these characters interacting again please, the ones that made me want to watch the show and fall in love with Lone Star in the first place!!

Answering stuff about my durge!

1. What circumstances led to your Dark Urge becoming their Class/Subclass?

So The Urge's base class is urban ranger, with a gloomstalker subclass, with a rogue/executioner multiclass for flavor. I feel like executioner fits really well with Bhaalist doctrine, and is a natural extension of the hit hard and make it hurt philosophy The Urge personally lives by.

The Urge’s adoptive mother is the root of this build - she herself was a gloomstalker in the Underdark and very very good at what she did, which was primarily the hunting of exotic goods and beasts. Even after she married and moved topside, that funky little gnome lady never lost her taste for the hunt - The Urge’s clearest memory of their childhood pre tadpole is the thrill of watching their mother wipe out a pack of gnolls. They went on many hunts together, and she was proud of her little hunter - talented and fearless and uncomplaining despite the long hours of boredom as they stalked their prey.

Even after her death, her lessons rang true, and much of his mother’s philosophy on hunting, food, and making good on the resources available to you informed much of his future policies as a Bhaalist leader. The Urge is obsessed with the game, the hunt, the thrill of the kill and the one true victory it yields.

The Gloomstalker mantle is boosted by the rogue multiclass, but is far more essential to The Urge’s philosophy and worldview than anything else.

7. Did your Dark Urge recall any childhood memories? If yes, how do they feel about the revelations? If no, was it by choice or lack of options?

So in my canon, The Urge does recover most of their memories - even the ones of their childhood they had otherwise suppressed. This includes his birth name, which he had discarded upon the death of his adoptive family.

He remembers the full breadth of his parent’s influence, the life he could have lived. I have yet to decide on the exact memory, although it takes a more solid shape than his vague longing to ‘return to the house with the rose colored door.’ He abandoned his childhood home for the temple all by himself of course, he knows it’s address and who lives there now, but the longing for a place that his own mind and Bhaal actively suppressed was ingrained in him for so long, it became more dream than reality at some point.

Mostly though, he remembers his mother’s face, and her voice, her kind hand in his, and he, at 45, misses her like the very young child he was when he took her from this world.

21. What are 2-3 songs that your Dark Urge would relate to?

But the thing is that they dislike Rhaegar but his fav character is Jon Connington and likes Elia. They blame Rhaegar for Elia being on bed rest after the second child... as if JonCon doesn't recall Elia as being unworthy of R for being weak and unable to give him more children (epitome of misogynistic). That's really... something else, to say the least.

JonCon loved Rhaegar. His story revolves around putting Rhaegar's supposed son on the throne, no matter what the cost.

He was not wrong, Jon Connington reflected, leaning on the battlements of his forebears. I wanted the glory of slaying Robert in single combat, and I did not want the name of butcher. So Robert escaped me and cut down Rhaegar on the Trident. "I failed the father," he said, "but I will not fail the son." [The Griffin Reborn, ADWD]

Rhaegar is such a central figure in JonCon's story, so it's really odd hating Rhaegar while having JonCon as a favorite character.

You're so right, nonny. JonCon's opinion of Elia is pretty misogynistic. In his eyes, dhe would never be worthy of Rhaegar. If he supports Young Griff, it's because he believed the boy is Rhaegar's son. That's it.

An example of the mental gymnastic of Rhaegar antis — twisting facts and the story to fit their own fanons. All to hate on a fictional character. 😅

😈 Has there been a point in a story where you did something just to be playfully mean to your readers?

Yes. 🤭 I've done this twice. The first was in Little Princess. Everyone kept pushing for Clexa in the comments, but Clarke was way too young. So I teased an upcoming crush in the comments and AN. Then that crush turned out to be Echo. 🤣 It was a fun switch up and a soft reminder that Clarke was fourteen and Lexa was like 1500 years old.

The second was something I decided at the very beginning for Into the Woods. The first chapter I wrote for that fic was the shocking twist at the middle of the story. Then I wrote 15 chapters of me 100% misleading my readers. It was a tiny bit cruel, but worth everyone's reaction when they realized they had no clue what was happening.

🎯 Have any of your readers accurately guessed major plot points? Care to share which?

Yes! A couple times, actually.

In Echoes of You Within Me, someone guessed Clarke's final move against Russell in one of the earlier chapters. *cough* Clarke!Josie *cough* 🤣 I was forced to delete their comment to avoid spoilers. 🤣

In the Peace in the Wasteland Series I had one reader who I swear is a fucking mind reader. 🤣 They knew exactly where I was headed in nearly every chapter and I don't know how.

And finally (definitely not spoiling this one) City of Light and Shadow one of my readers figured out the prophecy in chapter one— like all of it. Thankfully, they messaged me on Tumblr and didn't comment.

Ive realized in your comics you probably have Adam as an actual ghost, but my first interpretation of it was he's a hallucination. And like especially with the most recent comic I love the idea of Lawrence finding both terror and comfort in this version of Adam in his mind. And even though he never really got to know Adam a lot before he had to leave him, this version in his mind he knows well. And as his life is falling apart around him this fake Adam is the thing both keeping him sane and driving him further towards that cliff of insanity...

What irkes me the most is how this fanon take is so widespread in the fandom. Even some people with generally a good grasp on the books think Rhaegar wanted a Visenya. I can't understand that.

Rhaegar is a mysterious character, that much is true. However, we can still have a good understanding of his character. We have five books filled with quotes about him by people who met him. So it baffles me how misunderstood he is.

As you said, the visions of the HotU are not to be taken literally. They're filled with metaphors and connotative language.

norway what was the bloodiest and most brutal battle you've ever been part of?

The battle of Lund in 1676.

The bloodiest battle Norway has been a part of is the Battle of Lund in 1676, fought between Denmark-Norway and the Netherlands against Sweden, where Sweden won. The Danish King had 12 300 soldiers to command and the Swedish King had only had 8 000. Both sides ended up loosing about 50% of their army. It is said to be the bloodiest battle ever fought in Scandinavia, and it was a coincidence that the Swedes won just due to the chaotic nature of the battle.

The battle was a result of Danish forces invading the southern part of today’s Sweden, an area that had previously belonged to Denmark. The Swedes were led by a reckless and young king who had already put them through harsh conditions and bad camp locations that had cause a great percentage of the soldiers to die from illness already before the battle had begun. The Danes had followed the Swedish army and were in much better position, both location-wise and with a steady supply line.

The Danes became impatient and gave up good placement to attack the Swedes as they neared the city of Lund just outside Malmö. As mentioned, the battle was disorienting and chaotic, with a lot of breaks in formation, a missing Swedish King who came back after several hours to break through Danish lines who had his forces surrounded. Not to mention over-eager Swedes absolutely slaughtering sailors who wanted to surrender, with the words “Sailors have paid to fight at sea, but not at land. You therefore deserve no mercy!”. The massacre was stopped by a Swedish officer.
