Black-Figure Band Cup: Stags and Panthers | 540 BC The two sides of this drinking cup are nearly identical, each with a reserved band holding a grazing stag between two panthers. A single palmette appears on either side of each handle, while a reserved circle inside the bowl holds a dot within concentric circles.

carl gaertner -- "the pie wagon" (ca. 1926)

"as soon as you're born, they make you feel small by giving you no time instead of it all till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all a working class hero is something to be a working class hero is something to be" … john lennon
"our winters are very long here, very long and very monotonous. but we don't complain about it downstairs, we're shielded against the winter. oh, spring does come eventually, and summer, and they last for a while, but now, looking back, spring and summer seem too short, as if they were not much more than a couple of days, and even on those days, no matter how lovely the day, it still snows occasionally" … franz kafka
"little darlin', it's been a long, cold, lonely winter little darlin', it feels like years since it's been here here comes the sun, doo-doo-doo-doo here comes the sun, and i say it's alright" … george harrison
"and here comes the pie wagon! if you want any pie, well, just follow me" … al janik
