First Responders Season 2 spoilers below
They cremate Dojin.
It doesn’t really feel right, giving him back to the fire, as if allowing it to finish the job.
(Not that burying him whole was a better option)

Hello. Yes. Quick question.
You reblogged me dressed up as Crowley and in your tags...
I'm your what?
I'M YOUR WHAT?!
Holy shit! Really? I'm in shock. I never expected to be THAT.
I might need to lay down. Or go stare at a wall or something.
Wow! Thank you. That's amazing.
(Me failing at acting normal about people saying nice things about me...)
Yeah really, your work is just my speed. It reads like you spent time and effort incorporating important aspects of canon. I can hear Aziraphale and Crowley in the dialogue, which isn't always the case with fic. Yknow the good ol "he wouldn't fucking say that"? I don't have that thought with your fics. Every scene and situation makes sense relative to the work as a whole. Like that one scene in your fic where they restored Crowley to Raphael, and Aziraphale had him in the shop, and offered him those 3 pajama options? That's what he would do! He'd discorporate before pushing himself on Crowley and that self imposed distance in all your stuff rings true. Crowley switching over to protecting Muriel after Aziraphale left is just the same, and his style of encouragement towards her reflected how he gently pushed Aziraphale over the years.
I also took a look through your recs and I thought the one where Crowley had a second form, that little gargoyle Atys, was great. I'll read all sorts of fics at all levels of writing but the truly satisfying ones, in terms of characterization and writing quality, really stick out.
(Ah yes, getting a good grade in socializing, something that's both normal to want and possible to achieve... spent a long time last night looking at the tags I wrote and saying to myself "is that creepy? will they be weirded out?" I was glad to hear that's not the case :)

You mentioned before that you didn't like the reactionary character growth for Din between s2 and end of BOBF, can you elaborate more on that? It's ok if you don't want to, I'm just curious.
(Tumblr ate my first attempt, so here's hoping this one gets through)
Bear with me, Anon, because it's a while since I thought seriously about these things. I swear I know what post you're referring to but I can't find the ask or text post, and if it's something I put in the tags then fucking rip to me lol.
I don't know if I was talking about the lack of introspection and/or exploration of Din's relationship to his creed and covert post-Season 2 or if I was just raging about the decision to reunite Din and Grogu in TBOBF and discard any opportunities for transformative character growth. I have to believe I was talking about the latter because it's the one decision that I feel changed the direction of the show for the worse. Jon Favreau, Lucasfilm, and Disney, in some combination or another, decided that the dynamic duo had to reunite immediately because why ruin a good thing and why lose their profits audience?
To me, they're too scared to push the story-telling boundaries and potential, and so they'd rather unspool the previous 2 seasons in order to restore the status quo, to return the story to something safe, staid, and familiar. They don't want Din and Grogu to change in meaningful and/or interesting ways that could impact their personal growth, their relationships with each other and with allies and enemies around them, and with the larger galaxy.
I have to believe that's what I meant by "reactionary character growth". I hope this answers your question. And thanks for stopping by!

So, I'm one of the rare person that watch the not-so-popular kdrama, The First Responders (2022). I love crime drama, and this drama is about how police, fire fighter and paramedic working together so this drama is definitely in my alley. So, FYI, the drama is split into 2 season with first season's ending is a total cliffhanger.
And the season 2...
Oh my the season 2.
The episode 3 totally killed me in the worst way possible.
Why did you do this to me, script writer?
---- SPOILER ALERT -----
Dojin died.
He died.
He is the second male lead, and even, the second MC. But he is dead so soon...
I cried my eyes off last night.
I don't think I ever cried that hard because of character death in fiction story before.
FYI, Dojin's actor is one of my favorite actor and Dojin himself is my favorite character in this drama. I'm all into the friendship between the Bulldozer and Jin Dog, especially because Detective Jin needs someone who can match his pace and his way of thinking.
But Dojin died.
Heck, I can tell how shaken up Detective Jin is.
He is so close of being best friend with Dojin and that happened.
Let's cast aside the ridiculous love triangle, because I know Dojin and Detective Jin don't compete for Sol's love at all. Detective Jin is too messed up to even think about love, Dojin is too soft-hearted to beat Detective Jin on it and Sol has her hands full with handling two suicidal coworkers.
And now, I can't even imagine how Sol and Detective Jin's love story will continue. It is too painful now without Dojin at their side. They are so wholesome as a trio, they work so good together and they need each other.
Gosh, how will this story continue without Dojin, honestly I can't tell. There should be around 9 episodes again right? How Detective Jin cope when he needs to rely on fire fighters if Dojin isn't there?
How will the story from the fire fighters' side continue without Dojin?
Can I even continue watching without Dojin there? Oh my, I don't know honestly.

good omens season 2 spoilers
I've seen the coffee theory and I've seen a bunch of people explain why they don't like it and I mostly agree with them (I do believe that Aziraphale is being heavily manipulated and what we saw of the coffee shop scene isn't the whole story), and one of the main reasons I don't enjoy the coffee theory is because of the agency it takes away from Aziraphale, but also things this season were off and odd. I've been rewatching and I keep pointing out moments that should have had more payoff or just don't add up, especially if you watch interviews with David Tennant and Michael Sheen because they say things that just Didn't happen. I think the coffee theory doesn't fit tonally with the season, and it wouldn't give us the proper pay off for all the questions we're left with and all the oddities of the season. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of Strange things about this show in general but this season went beyond them straight into something is off territory. From the first episode I knew something was wrong, possibly with every character, and rewatching I'm only noticing more moments (of course some of those things, like how I thought something was up with Beelzebub, get resolved, but for the most part). It speaks of something bigger happening all throughout the season, rather than just right at the end. Gabriel tells us something big is coming from the beginning and I think his arrival wasn't the start of the something big coming. I don't know I just see too many things that don't add up for it to be just that last scene, I think Heaven has been actively manipulating Aziraphale for a long time (and it has something to do with the minisodes) and that end was the first step to their end goal.

The problem with plot armor is not that a character survives when the story needs them to.
The problem with plot armor is when a character who needs to survive has no reason to. When everything says this character should die, and the author contrives an utterly illogical reason for this character to not get killed that makes no sense in the in the narrative.
If you need a character to survive, provide an actual reason in the text that fits. If by all logic, the hero should have killed this recurring villain by now, and there’s no good reason for their continued survival, either kill them, or give the story a very good reason why they’re not dead - and this is key
state it in the fucking text!

listening to Gravity Falls episode commentaries is great. Alex Hirsch nearly worked himself to death constantly. Grunkle Stan was nearly voiced by Matt Chapman of Homestar Runner. Literally nothing aside from the twist about Stan having a twin was planned more than a few episodes in advance. The zodiac wheel meant nothing and consisted of random symbols from the first 7 episodes because the intro was animated after those were done. Alex came up with the term “search for the blind eye” to be an extra bit for the between-season shorts before deciding to actually have a payoff for that setup and writing Society of the Blind Eye. Bill was meant to be a joke character and when Alex suggested that he be a real villain Michael Rianda responded “You, my friend, have lost the plot.” Bill getting one episode in the spotlight was basically chance and he only became the main villain of season 2 because he was so popular with the fans. The reveal of the portal at the end of season 1 was suggested by Mike without thinking it through and he left before the next season and the other writers were SO ANNOYED after that went through because they somehow had to keep that plot going for the 10 episodes it’d take to actually pay off. I am genuinely astonished that this show came together as well as it did at all.
