thinking about geralt aggressively holding a sword to someone's neck a la 2x07, but this time he's also simultaneously hugging ciri in relief with his free arm
it's the juxtaposition of promised violence and unabashed tenderness
which don't get me wrong I think they definitely achieved that in the actual scene just with the soft way geralt looked at and spoke to ciri while holding the sword to yen's neck, but I also just really wanted to see a hug there

from the moment they showed the reunion scene in the season 2 promos i knew it wasn’t going to be treated with the respect and gravity it deserved because if it had they wouldn’t be spoiling it in a trailer

In your opinion, which moment (or moments) of season 1 of the Witcher would you consider to be THE moment Yennefer realizes that she wants to either have a baby or that she's yearning to become a mother?
honestly, to me, there isn't a moment because i don't believe yennefer's desire is actively to do with becoming a mother, it's to do with not having the choice to become one, one day.
the only real insight we get into her feelings on the show is in rare species. when geralt questions her on why she could possibly want a child she responds: 'they took my choice. i want it back' to me, this moment really highlights how her desire to gain a cure is more about how the option was forcibly taken from her (she was a child, she never really knew what she was giving up, and this is a big arc for her character in how she believes she was manipulated by everything that was instilled in the girls at aretuza) and stresses her desire to have her autonomy, to truly own her body and do with it what she will, back.
i think when we look at yennefer as a character, it's all about her journey to own herself and overcome adversity. she's overcome being sold by her father, even the physical deformities that had her being bullied for years (whilst enduring a painful procedure), rose to the very top by getting the position at court she wanted, left and forged her own way in life and then later lost everything. we see from this yennefer's drive to overcome the manipulation she has faced throughout her entire life, to surpass everyone's influence, and be free to do as she wishes. her ultimate goal throughout the series is truly to own her own life. i really see her desire to overcome her infertility as an extension of this - it's the last thing that was taken from her which she desperately wants back.
truly the only moment where she realises the importance of being a motherly figure is in 2x07 when she is with ciri, and realises she is the only person who can help her control her power. that she can be that guidance ciri always needed. i genuinely believe that before that, her drive was more about wanting to fix that thing about herself rather than the desire to birth a child, but in both ciri and geralt she begins to realise she doesn't need to fix that thing in herself - she is whole, she is strong, and she can be what ciri needs without it.
