The future of The Ravenwatch Affairs series:
A short epistolary story covering the events of Blackwood as told through a series of letters and diary entries between Arianne and Gwendis. (complete, but want to visually render the materials for posting. A plain text version will be available for accessibility)
WIP tentatively entitled 'Fenn's Penpal'. Focusing on Fennorian and the (original) character he met during the tutorial quest for Greymoor. In this interpretation, the character who is kidnapped by the Grey Host along with Fennorian is not the Vestige (because ESO timeline would never make any sense) and after escaping together, they loose contact (and the ex-Vestige goes on to do the proper plot of Greymoor)...until letters addressed to Fennorian arrive at the Castle. A sudden request to meet up leaves everyone wondering: is this Nord simply being friendly? Is this a date? Or is this a trap?
WIP: A two part, very smutty fic with Arianne, Gwendis and Verandis, taking place during 'Fenn's Penpal' but can be read independent of it.
WIP short: High King Emeric throws a ball that Adusa, Fennorian, Gwendis and Arianne are obligated by royal invitation to attend. Awkwardness ensues, Emeric enjoys it immensely.
WIP: 'The Lightless Remnant'. The Remnant is still in the hands of Molag Bal, and the Ravenwatch hears that he intends to use it. Their only choice is to infiltrate Coldharbour and render it useless before it can be transported to Tamriel, but can their source even be trusted? What chance does a small force of vampires and mages stand against the might of Coldharbour? What will be lost in the attempt?
WIP dealing with the fallout of Coldharbour. (Details redacted for spoilers!)
Tentative WIP: Verandis manages to free himself from the Dark Heart.
AU Skyrim (incomplete and unlikely to be continued): Arianne is transported into the far future by mysterious means. Tamriel has changed significantly and most people she knew are undoubtedly dead...but she clings to the hope that the Ravenwatch has survived, despite the many years that have passed. (There are two very good chapters written which I will post but I have no intention of making this into a full story - I have enough on my plate!)

The Thief and The Moon ch 6 | Skyrim Fanfic
chapter 6 of my little self indulgent skyrim fanfic with Brynjolf and my dark elf, Allustria.
What could Brynjolf be doing just beyond the door???? spoiler alert: jerkin' it.
——————————————-chapter 6———————-
“Come on, Brynjolf, get yourself together.” He whispered to himself, desperately not wanting anyone to wake up and hear him. His back was pressed against the door. He leaned his head back, with a thump. “Just think of anything else. Puppies. Dandelions. That cat that stole my ham sandwich last week. Allustria. No! Gods! I can’t get her out of my mind!” His engorged member was throbbing now. No matter what thoughts he tried to shove into his head to replace her silky smooth skin… her curves. Her inviting lips. Her delicate fingers, tracing down and unbuttoning his pants… He thumped his head against the door three more times.
Showing no signs of calming down, he unbuttoned his trousers. He was rock hard and already dripping with pre-cum. He slid his palm against his tongue, getting it wet, and began stroking himself. The sensation made him shudder, his breath hitched, and his body involuntarily arched and bumped against the door behind him. Stroking up and down, sliding his hot member between his thumb and forefinger.
Almost being caught by the source of his arousal somehow made him even more excited. He had to get out of there before he threw himself onto her. He imagined Allustria kneeling in front of him, her warm lips at the tip. He began moving his hips in time with his hand, creating the motion of fucking her in her sweet little mouth. His climax came racing through. Before he had time to try and catch it, or to do anything to avoid making a mess, his sign of reaching his pleasure shot out of him in spurts. His hips jerked and thrusted faster during his climax, then slowed and his breath caught up to him. Panting, taking in long breaths and slowly exhaling, trying to slow his heart rate. His cock pulsed and pushed the remaining seed out, dripping off his tip.
“Fuck…” He whispered. “By the Gods Allustria, what do you do to me?”
—————————
Allustria’s ear was pressed firmly against the other side of the door. Her face was glowing from the heat of the situation. She listened to the whole show beyond the gate. It was arousing to hear someone as attractive as Brynjolf frustratingly pleasuring himself to the thought of her. A hideous grin spread across her lips as a decision was made…  She’s going to make him beg for her. She felt pleasure at the thought of toying with him. Teasing him. Seeing what gets him to cave and finally take her. The fact that he didn’t right then and there, makes him more appealing to her, than all the other men she’s bedded. She needed to know just how different he was.
Still listening, after he had reached his climax, she heard him say her name.
‘Let’s find that out together~’ She answered him in her mind and licked her lips to the thought.
Quickly, before he decided to open the door and find her squirming with her own arousal, she scampered back to her bed and jumped in it. Fabric and hair flowing in swirls.
_____________________________________________
The next morning was the day Allustria would attempt the GoldenGlow heist. She asked around the flagon for any advice she could get. Vex had the best info, since she was the one to attempt the job before her.  An entrance through the sewers on the back of the property. Sounds easy enough.
Brynjolf was nowhere to be seen. She wasn’t even sure if he came back to bed after what happened.
‘He must’ve crashed somewhere else’
ruffling through her pack, she pulled out some leather she’d been collecting for a couple of weeks. Hoping to make some new armor soon. She’ll head to the blacksmith before the job. But first, get dressed, then food. She was starving. After replacing her nightgown with yesterday’s armor, she grabbed some cheese and bread from the table in the cistern. Took a seat and ate a couple of seared salmon filets. A few members greeted her with a hand on their temples, massaging away their hangovers.
“Hell of a party last night, huh?”
Once finished eating, she grabbed her pack, tied her sack of coins around her waist, and exited through the cemetery entrance. Making sure to close the secret door behind her, so no curious fool wandered in. Then it was off to the blacksmith.
She enjoyed creating her own armor, or even modifying pre-made sets. She always liked to have a little flair of sex appeal to her attire. She borrowed the blacksmith’s armor working table and got to smithing. Sewing and trimming leather pieces to her desired shape. Once finished, she tried it all on.
A deep v neckline, laced with intertwining leather straps. The sides were completely open from under her arm past her hips, all the way down, with a few thick belts and straps keeping the front and back together. Armored bracers over her wrists and a pair of boots with fur sticking out from lining the inside. It was a perfect fit… Especially for teasing a certain someone. As for actually protecting her during battle, though it didn’t look like it, this new armor was stronger than her last. Besides, she felt skilled enough that she could avoid any serious damage.
After unloading everything Balimund would buy from her, she took the back exit that opened up to the docks. The air was humid and fresh. Warm sunlight shining down. The fishery employees were out, just finishing their morning catch of the day. In hindsight, it probably would have been better to go to Goldenglow after the sun had set, rather than risen…  That way the sun wouldn’t be hurting her pale eyes. Oh well.
Allustria reached the end of the dock. Through the morning mist, she was able to make out the shape of the estate. She stretched her neck and shoulders, took in a deep breath, and dove into the water. Pushing through the lake, she propelled herself forward. Curving her body in a wave pattern to continue her momentum. After a good distance, she glided to the surface to catch her breath and take a peek at how far she had gone. Adjusting her direction, she headed straight for the bee farm.
When close enough to feel the water becoming more shallow, she held her head above the surface, just enough for her to see where she was going. Then climbed up onto the edge of the island in the back, where Vex had suggested. Slipped her shoes off for a better grip, stuck them in her pack, and maneuvered around the boulders.
The sounds of mercenaries were chattering above her. She moved silently. They no doubt were expecting another break in. It took Allustria a bit to find the sewer grate, but once she did, she was in.
She wandered through the sewers, almost jumped out of her skin from a skeever leaping toward her from around a corner. Making quick with it, she continued on and found the ladder that led out of the tunnel. Out she popped right by a door to the estate. She sighed at the locked door.
“Here we go.”
A few lock picks later, she was inside. She crept silently through the halls. Occasionally stopping to peek around corners and watch the guard’s patrol patterns. Finding a locked gate that led to the cellar, she got it open and went into the depths. Same as the main house, there were a couple mercenaries here and there. Pretty easy to slip by unseen. She might not be the best at lockpicking, or alchemy, but her ability to move silently and be undetectable was unmatched.
Although, there was one mercenary that was sitting in quite a tight doorway. Even the best of the best would have a hard time slipping past this one. She took a moment to assess the situation. Hearing Brynjolf’s lovely voice in her head, telling her strictly not to kill anyone. I mean… He did say for business reasons. Did the hired muscle count?
Deciding it would be fine, she crawled up behind the man, flicked out her blade of choice, grabbed him over the mouth, pulled his head back, and slashed the exposed neck. The body slumped off the chair, and she continued on, making sure to pick up any treasures along the way.
An enticing safe was found. Breaking it open, she found it full of letters and a hefty amount of gold. Since all she needed to do was clear out the safe, she considered heading to the hives… Deciding she was not quite satisfied by leaving without searching every room in the house, she retraced her steps out of the cellar. Wandering the maze, avoiding the pacing guards, she opened some locked closets to find all sorts of goodies.
Venturing up the stairs, sneaking past a mercenary who sat facing a wall, rather than the entire room.
‘He almost deserves my blade.’ She thought, judging him on his terrible watchdog skills. Deciding to abide by the guild rules, she ignored him and entered the master suite.
“Damnable mercenaries. Worthless.”  She heard a man’s voice say. The owner of the manor had somehow spotted her. He was cowering in the corner, watching her. She shut the door behind her and smiled. Since he already knew she was there, she didn’t bother with the scuttling around, and walked upright.
“Nice room you got here.” She whispered, loud enough for him to hear, but quiet enough not to alert the guard just past the door.
“You filthy rats, thinking you can get away with this. I won’t let you take everything I’ve worked for.”
“Oh, no, no, no.. You misunderstand! I’m only here for….” She looks around for the most valuable thing she could see. “…This…” she settled on a lovely golden statue of a honey bee. She lifted it off the nightstand, and held it closer for a better look.
“It’s beautiful…”
“Don’t think you can fool me, I know you people want everything I have.” He apparently knew exactly what was going on. She rolled her eyes. She was trying to keep him from figuring out that she already had what she needed. If she’d have known he would have been in here like a mouse, she would have skipped the room all together.
“Look.” She relaxed her wrist, dangling the metal bee this way and that. “I’m a little new to the guild and was asked not to kill anyone, because it’s bad for business.” She slowly made her way closer to the man. He pushed himself further into the corner.
“But it’s hard for an ex Dark Brotherhood assassin to let go of her habits, you see.” Closing the gap between them. The wood elf felt a change in her eyes. They darkened with a terrifying lust for blood.
Allustria leaned down to his level, and grazed her fingernails across his chin. No expression showed on her face. The man began to shake from his stiffening legs. Allustria’s mouth turned up in a grin, but she wasn’t smiling. Her eyes remained soulless in the void.
“So either you accept that I’m here for this little statue, or we find out what happens if you keep.. asking.. questions..”
He was holding his breath now, eyes welling up with tears from the burn they endured from him not taking his eyes off hers. She waited, tapping her fingernails on the statue. He gave the tiniest of nods. Allustria shot up to a stand, her face melted into a friendly smile
“Great!” And with that, she took her prize, and left. The wood elf fell back and slid against the wall, landing on his rump. Finally able to exhale. Only to see billowing smoke outside his window minutes later.

The way you meet the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim is so funny because it might be the most unappealing faction ever if you take it seriously, I'm very big in roleplay and every single choice you make makes you avoid them either as a player or a character like the plague
Here's my experience in my first playthrough years ago:
be me, big heroic dragonborn with a heart of gold
I didn't know what the dark brotherhood was before starting to play
just that they just tried to kill me and they're assasins but they're bad at it
I heard about Aventus Arentino in Windhelm but that's a sidequest for another time, the Greybeards want to meet me
I get to Riften
Go to the Orphanage, meet Gerold, see she's being horrible to kids and that won't do not if I have something to say about it
I don't care if I get arrested (quicksave just in case)
I shout her and she dies
well
nobody arrests me and the orphans seem happy so that's cool
They tell me to seek Aventus Arentino since he's calling the dark brotherhood
well that sounds dangerous so after I meet the Greybeards I go to Windhelm to talk to him
He's doing a weird ritual with human remains to call them, fucked up shit, I tell him to go to his orphanage, that's it
I look up what's the Dark Brotherhood but not too much so I don't get spoilers
I find everybody's talking about Cicero
OH I KNOW THIS GUY
I HATE HIM I FUCKING HATE HIM
I DON'T EVEN HATE CLOWNS BUT THE MERE MINUTE I HEARD HIM TALK ABOUT HIS FUCKING CART AND MOTHER I WANTED TO SHOUT HIM OUT OF EXISTENCE
luckily it seems it's an optional quest so never mind I'm done
go to sleep
astrid kidnaps me
Now, to recap, these guys
tried to kill me before I even knew who the fuck they were
are terrible at killing since I had to kill Gerold for them
are involved in all sorts of creepy rituals involving human remains classic villain stuff
again, they tried to kill me
and now they kidnap me and want me to kill for them in some fucked up psychological game with apparent innocents
THEY ARE FRIENDS WITH CICERO THE MOST WRETCHED CREATURE OF ALL SKYRIM
and they tried to kill me
I do what any self respecting player or Dragonborn would do and kill Astrid, and I didn't even care that much for the destroy the brotherhood quest since I thought it would be a lame sidequest
imagine my surprise when after I beat the main quest and so many others I found out they were a major faction with quests and beloved characters (and worse, one of those beloved characters is Cicero)

you must gather your party before venturing out. a multi-muse featuring original characters based in Dungeons and Dragons, Baldurs Gate 3, Pillars of Eternity, and Elder Scrolls lore. beloved by puffin. low activity & casual. NOTICE ! this is a sideblog ! I follow from @hegrowth !
// don't adventure off alone ! [temp rules + muse list below the cut]
GUIDELINES.
again, this is a sideblog, I will follow from @hegrowth. in general, I greatly prefer you also be following that blog as well to interact with me here.
some quick things... no godmodding, metagaming, or force shipping. I don't send passwords. please cut your posts & turns asks into new threads. do not reblog memes from me, please reblog them from the source. specify a muse when sending in an ask, otherwise I'll pick or won't respond. anon is off.
I don't write NSFW / smut, but I'm okay with discussing spicy things ooc. I will not ship with minors for this reason, but am okay with interacting otherwise.
I ask that you please do not softblock me. it causes me a lot of anxiety. I support blocking freely and do so myself, I just ask you please hardblock me instead of softblocking. I do not softblock, so if it appears you've been softblocked by me then it was a mistake / tumblr glitch, feel free to follow again !
I don't own nor am I affiliated with BG3, DnD, Elder Scrolls, or PoE. I'm just developing some kids in those universes and hope you enjoy my portrayals. don't steal my meta please !
I don't have many icons, and for some muses none, so I won't use them most likely, unless I find a faceclaim. I typically match length in responses.
please know I am currently very slowly playing through Baldurs Gate 3, so characters, meta, etc will all be updated as I get through the game. I personally find the exploration and route opportunities to be incredibly overwhelming, so please be patient with me. that said, this blog will contain spoilers and discussions of events and characters, as I play.
lastly, my discord is available. I match energy so if you talk with me and engage ooc then I will reciprocate, and I'll most likely have more inspiration and ideas for interactions. I like talking with my partners. the more we talk ooc the more I'll want to do things ic, honest to god. so just be friendly ! I don't bite.

indulging myself on talking about my bg3 party (spoilers below):
Silas - Wood Elf - Assassin
Went for Dark Urge since its the only origin character you can customize, but Silas is actually my Skyrim OC whose been inexplicably transported to the Forgotten Realms. Won't get into specifics since the Dark Urge gives him amnesia, but it's fun to play an evil character trying and failing to resist their impulses. The Dark Urge storyline is actually a bit similar to Silas's actual backstory, but, alas, he doesn't remember it and probably never will. He does still have PTSD with bows (he's not sure why), so dual swords and throwing knives are his go-to.
Gameplay-wise, he lacks in raw power and depends on Advantage while staying invisible. Basically, he needs to one-shot people each turn to not die, which is pretty in character for a compulsive murderer. He is quite squishy, however. Well, the whole team is. I'm thinking of multiclassing him with Fighter or Barbarian to get a higher Armor Class (which is also a shoutout to his Skyrim storyline).
Romance-wise, I'm going for a main love triangle with Astarion and Wyll. Hopefully, the two characters are OK with polyamory in the end. Plus, the two have a great dichotomy; think Kara Danvers vs Livewire. And trying to keep approval from two opposite sides of the moral alignment chart has been... slow. Silas got no action in Act 1 besides a chaste kiss with Wyll and Astarion is just beginning to tolerate him. To speed things up, I gave Astarion an open tab on Silas's blood. This diagnoses Silas with acute anemia. Symptoms? An almost constant penalty in his Ability Checks. Worth it? It better be!
Astarion - Arcane Trickster
Astarion is someone I didn't care much about and planned to replace for a better party member. Alas, I got annoyed with his constant disapproval of my character, which made me determined to see him like Silas in the end. His jaded personality is clearly a result of his traumatic past, so I'm interested to see how much he changes when given a (comparatively) healthier dynamic. I like that Silas and Astarion have similarly evil tendencies, so I'm curious to see whether they make each other worse or better.
Gameplay-wise, he works similar to Silas. Squishy and needs Advantage to be good. He's our main archer, which keeps him off the frontlines, so he doesn't die as much. Doesn't use magic much in combat either, but he does have all the utility spells helpful in non-combat situations i.e. Feather Fall.
Wyll - Warlock
Wyll is the Kara Danvers of BG3. He's a superhero with a seemingly unattainable level of altruism. As you can imagine, I was obsessed. And like Supergirl, he has a hidden dark streak, which is interesting to see play out. Being good is a choice. He always chooses good despite the cost. Silas definitely idealized Wyll when he first met him hoping to become a better person by osmosis. However, after discovering the Warlock's powers come from a Fiend contract, Silas became disillusioned. I think its clear that our resident superhero could change the Dark Urge, but Silas isn't sure if he's ready to let go of that. And I'm curious to see how how stagnant Wyll's morality remains as the story progresses.
Gameplay-wise, he's our biggest damage-dealer. His spells can hit and debuff multiple enemies HARD. Still squishy, but he makes up for it by killing before they can get to him. Plus, it helps to have Silas and Shadowheart keep them distracted.
Shadowheart - Cleric
Shadowheart was someone I, too, planned to replace at the first opportunity. And I did. Once we got Karlach, a buff giantess devil-lady with a heart of gold, it was bye-bye healer, hello absolute unit with lethality that far outstrips anyone else in the party. And I love LOVE Karlach (I'm still going to pursue her and lae'zel's personal quests), but at that point, the main trio had been with Silas throughout 80% of Act 1, and I was surprised to find Shadowheart had grown on me. She's actually quite witty and complex once you get past the masochistic goddess she worships. We also come across her fellow fanatics a lot throughout the story, so its fun to see someone become conflicted with the religious dogma they were raised with. I also like that she's a twist on the typical healer archetype. She's not altruistic like Wyll. She worships darkness, but not because she's evil, but because it's all she ever knew. I'm most interested to see where she is with her faith in the end.
Gameplay-wise, a healer is indispensable as we all know. She actually has the highest strength stat in the group, so she's good utility i.e. moving heavy objects. Furthermore, to help mitigate the team's squishy problem, I gave her heavy armor proficiency so she's become pretty decent at soaking damage. Her spells are from the Trickery Domain, so she has a lot of buffs and debuffs, which has been critical in reducing how many hits the team takes. Essentially, since I don't like to change their original classes for roleplay reasons, I'm turning her into a pseudo-Paladin which has proven really fun to play around with. I'd say she's definitely grown the most in usefulness.

I FINALLY FINISHED MARKARTH SO I AM GOING TO RAMBLE ABOUT THE EDLER SCROLLS: ONLINE'S QUESTLINES A BIT SO SPOILERS AHEAD!
Let's hope the readmore works.
Ok, so Markarth's questline was amazing. I really really enjoyed it and it is my second favorite after Summerset. But it has one big flaw in my opinion.
The one year long adventure.
I miss it when eso's dlcs and expansions were independent. Like yeah sure, Orsinium->Morrowind->Clockwork City->Summerset had a continuity but they were still their own questlines and when you finished the quest the plit was wrapped up with a tease that there will be more that is related to what you just did.
Then we got the year of the dragon. A major letdown for me (and I fucking love dragons) but the whole northern and southern Elsweyr's plotlines just... Fell flat. Idk, maybe they just weren't for me personally. And the fact that I paid for the Elsweyr's expansion and the plot just... Was left unfinished. You had to wait for the southern Elsweyr's dlc to finish the plot. I didn't like it at all.
So back to Skyrim. Zenimax decided that the one year adventures are now a thing (boooo) and we first got the western Skyrim expansion and then later Markarth dlc. And the plotline was so much better than Elsweyr's. The characters (I love the whole Ravenwatch clan,), the villains (I did not expect to feel so much sympathy for Rada but boy did I), WE EVEN GOT WES JOHNSON AS A VOICE ACTOR AGAIN!
One other big minus about The Dark Heart of Skyrim plotline is that the fact that if your character is a vampire it doesn't really... Affect anything. I remember two dialogue options during the whole questline, where you get to go "Hey uknow I'm a vampire too right" but it really broke my immersion a lot when no one just acknowledged the fact that you too are a vampire in the middle of a vampire crisis. I don't think Fennorian acknowledges even ONCE that you're a vampire! MY IMMERSION IS RUINED!
ALSO what happened to Lyris' writing? I never really liked her character THAT much but she is insufferable in the Dark Heart of Skyrim. Also cringe culture is dead but I visibly cringed every time she and Sai Sahan talked together.
So yeah I really just needed to ramble a bit. Summerset is still my favorite expansion, it wrapped up a plotline that kind of started way back in Orsinium but it still allowed all of the expansions that came before it to be independent.
I really wish Zenimax gave us some smaller, independent dlc areas again. Like Hew's Bane, Gold Coast and Murkmire. No more year long adventures, I've got anxiety, I miss on so much content because I can't play the dlc dungeons.

They really didn't have to have Darkstorm end the way it did. ESO has been killing off fan favorites and quickly beloved new characters consistently in dlc. For them to make Verandis sacrifice himself again made sense given the story, and given the history of their writing choices.
But no, they went for hopeful instead. They brought back all the people who died during Markarth including Arana. And then? To have Verandis come back himself, changed and somewhat doomed to watch over the Dark Heart for an eternity, but to have come back regardless... to get to officially pass on his House and the Ravenwatch to his kids, to get to say a goodbye that isn't Really a goodbye. Make them promise to visit.
And to let the player be a part of this. I know I'm biased from already previously loving Verandis and all of the Ravenwatch, but I actually felt like my character mattered. That Fennorian and Gwendis and Adusa actually wanted her to join their house, that Verandis really did see her as one of his own kids.
Listen I was very emotional about Summerset. But the Darkstorm questline alone did more for me than Summerset. Summerset hurt because it felt like a hollow victory. Dark Heart of Skyrim as a whole but mostly Darkstorm wasn't the happiest ending, but I felt much more satisfying and meaningful happiness about it.
I Have to thank the writers for all of this, your work paid off

ESO: Dark Heart of Skyrim Guesses
Markarth as either a trial or a dungeon. Last we heard, it was overrun by the Worm Cult. Perhaps some will be persuaded to join Namira and we’ll get cannibal necromancers...
If not Markarth, maybe Blackreach as a pub dung/trial. Crimson nirnroot and chaurus chitin could be new alchemy ingredients.
Something with the ever-shifty Rorikstead (Rorik’s Steading?). The earliest mentions of it predate ESO by a couple hundred years, and yet Rorik is alive and well in Skyrim. Let Mizzik Thunderboots sleuth around...
Lyris?? Maybe in the DLC?
Some Volkihar mention at least? It would be super cool to see some of their supposeded ice powers too.
Some new creatures- wistful thinking? Gehenoth and Snowrays from Travels. More than likely it’ll be chaurus and falmer. Maybe Dragon Priests will learn how to float again.
Maybe the new guild skill line is from the Bard’s College? It seems unlikely that the Companions will be joinable.
Naryu?? I just want to know how she’s doing.
More lady Jarls. No particular reasons here, I just love Idgrod Ravencrone and Elisif and want more ladies in power (that aren’t Maven.)
Meeting Azzadal, who talks about going cliff diving...
Rigurt the Brash in his element.
Meridia is shaping up to be a Big Bad someday, so maybe something with Mount Kilkreath? (If she is this season’s Big Bad, I have a bad feeling we’ll fight a corrupt Darien. I’m not prepared.)
I bet anything that at least the hold guards in Whiterun will be inexplicably wearing their iconic armor.
Winterhold pre-falling into the sea??
Also, please do not make us go through Bleak Falls again. Thanks.

The Dark Heart of Skyrim: A More Articulate Overview
Now that I’m safely back in my hovel, I can write up what we can expect for the next chapter of The Elder Scrolls Online.
Needless to say, Spoilers Ahead.
Dungeons and Trials
Harrowstorm is the first of the four installments. This one will feature 2 dungeons:
First, located on a small island in the Sea of Ghosts, is Icereach. This one will be going live in PTS sometime next week. There, you’ll meet with Lyris Titanborn as you uncover what’s really going on in this small island. There will be references to Direfrost Keep, and to the witch Droda; she wasn’t acting alone, it seemed. Normal playthroughs will unlock titles and usual loot; veteran hard mode runs will unlock Lyris Titanborn’s axe motif.
Expect spooky looking Giants and Daedra.
The second dungeon will be located in Bangkorai: Unhallowed Grave. There wasn’t much in the way of detail on this dungeon, but something was buried and guarded for so long, the current keepers don’t even know what’s in there. Needless to say, someone broke through, and it’ll be up to you to put a stop to it. This won’t be a dungeon to speedrun through; you’ll need to look over everything to unlock the mystery. There will be a red body marking collectible unlocked with this dungeon.
There will be a Sunspire-size trial, and loot that can only be unlocked on VHM. The quest will be you and your comrades trying to repel an invasion “from the North”. There also won’t be as much Stack-And-Attack, so be prepared. It will take place on an island in Skyrim “before it became barren”.
There will be crafting motifs for both.
Vampires
Yes, vampires are getting a reboot. The skill line will be reworked, and will be far more active.
The Vampire Lord will be an Ultimate, a bit like the Werewolf if I had to guess.
There will be new feeding animations.
The more you feed, the stronger you become. Your appearance will also change depending on how much you’ve fed.
There will be a mix of the Vampire perks you saw in Skyrim (Mesmerize, Life Drain), and the vampire tutorial quest will be reworked.
It will be easier to become a Vampire, but only in the sense that it’s going to be less random. No more hunting for a certain Bloodfiend.
Chapters
The first two chapters are Harrowstorm and Greymoor
The dungeons mentioned earlier are part of Harrowstorm, and lay the groundwork for what to expect.
Whereas Harrowstorm will deal a bit more in the supernatural, Greymoor will have that plus a brewing war between East and West.
Solitude, Morthal, and Blackreach are confirmed. We may see Dragon Bridge, but I couldn’t hear a solid “yes” or “no”.
If you’ve played Skyrim, this will all be recognizable, but only just.
Shadowgreen will be a delve.
Blackreach
Will make up around 40% of the game. There are different biomes, different creatures, and new threats.
It’s going to expand on the city you visit in TESV. It’s not just below the Pale; it’s everywhere.
There are new inhabitants (vampires)
Greymoor will play a part into reaching Blackreach.
New Skill Line(s)
It’s based on Antiquities; if Indiana Jones went to Tamriel
It’s non-combat, exploration-based.
The mechanic will be a little like Battleship and Minesweeper
ESO hears the concerns about colorblind players and is taking that into account
There will be special collectibles you can only get by excavating. One of them is the Ruby Dragon Skull.
There will be different themed pieces in the different areas, including Base Game; Yokudan remains in Alik’r, Atmoran and Dwemer pieces in Skyrim, etc
(I bugged Tuttle about Snow Elf ruins. He’s keeping mum.)
The pieces are account/character bound.
There will be special equipment that give special buffs; you can only have one equipped at a time
There is a new mount when you excavate all its fragments: The Dwemer Wolf Mount
Everything Else
Snow Elves were not confirmed. Falmer are.. potentially confirmed.
The grapple hook will be an asset in combat, especially in trials and dungeons.
There will be a new siege weapon to uncover with the new skill line.
The prologue quest for Dark Heart will play much like Wraithstone did in Elsweyr.
There will be a massive performance update that will require you to reinstall the game. It will take up 30GB less space, and patches will be much smaller. As an incentive, if you reinstall around the time the update is rolled out you will get a Crimson Torchbug. Watch out for that announcement.
Q3 and Q4 are Reach and Reachfolk-related.
There was kickass swag. I won none of it. Twice the winning ticket was 2 numbers away from mine.
But I did get a cool pin and a sweetroll.
Las Vegas scares the shit out of me.
