… so, the photographer from the 2015 Emmy magazine photo shoot posted this wee video of outtakes on Tuesday, and the Bureau of Misinterpretation™️ went into overdrive.

The video includes fun images from a fun photo shoot done by fun actors to promote their TV show for Emmy awards. I thought it would be fun if I reposted that eight-year-old magazine spread for nostalgia’s sake.

There have been a huge number of famous guest stars on Star Trek over the years, so we're going to take this season by season and then have a face-off between the most voted in each series. Basically a bracket, minus the planning :). Each poll will have the same criteria: 1) they must be famous before being on Star Trek, 2) they cannot be a titled main character, and 3) when I can't fit everyone in I'm using my best judgment.

Below the fold I'm including photos of their Star Trek roles and a couple of things that made them famous before appearing on Star Trek... which limited my options to 10 names per poll (you can only have 10 photos per post).

Frank Gorshin as Bele (s3ep15 Let That Be Your Last Battlefield) Previously the Riddler on the 60's Batman & a standup comic who opened on the Sullivan show for the first US Beatles appearance.

2. Ted Cassidy as Ruk (s1ep9 What are Little Girls Made Of?). Previously the voice of the Martian (Angry Red Planet), and Lurch (The Addams Family)

3. Julie Newmar as Eleen (s2ep3 Friday's Child). Previously Catwoman on Batman, and the android titular Rhoda on My Living Doll (the character who inspired Seven of Nine's name)

4. Ricardo Montálban as Khan Noonien Singh (s1ep24 Space Seed & Star Trek II). Ricardo has a long career, starting with musicals and short films in the US in 1940-41. He moved home to care for his dying mother, and became a famous Mexican Movie star in the 40's, starring in over a dozen movies. In the late 40's he returned to the US, and US Hollywood. In 1949 he was the first Hispanic Person to appear on the cover of Life Magazine. He continued to star in many movies, TV shows, and Broadway productions leading up to his first TOS appearance.

5. Michael Dunn as Alexander (s3ep12 Plato's Stepchildren). Previously Dr. Miguelito Loveless on The Wild West and Mr Big on Get Smart. Also Considered by Gene Roddenberry for the role of "Spock" in the Star Trek pilot The Cage!

6. Lee Meriwether as Losira (s3ep16 That Which Survives). Previously 1955 Ms America, Catwoman on Batman, and Tracey, Anna Rojak on Mission Impossible.

7. John Larroquette as Maltz (Star Trek III). Previously Dan Fielding on Night Count, Dr Paul Herman on Doctor's Hospital, and Second Lieutenant Robert "Bob" Anderson on Baa Baa Black Sheep.

8. Christopher Lloyd as Kruge (Star Trek III). Previously Reverend Jim Ignatowski on Taxi (a character who cannonically loved Star Trek), Phillip Semenko on Cheers, and Taber in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

9. Madge Sinclair as Captain (Star Trek IV). Previously Nurse Ernestine on Trapper John MD, and Bell Reynolds in Roots. She was the first on-screen female captain in Star Trek. She later went on to play Geordi's mom in TNG - the 4th role in which she played Levar Burton's Mother.

10. Iman as Martia (Star Trek VI). Previously a supermodel, Cynthia in L.A. Story (alongside Sir Pat Stew), Nina Beka in No Way Out, Mariammo in Out of Africa, and Lois Blyth & Dakotah in Miami Vice.

#RadyoBanderaEXCLUSIVE: The Final 3rd Season of Hilda is in the works by Fall 2023 on Netflix

TROLBERG, SCANDINAVIA -- A British-Canadian cartoon show Hilda nears its conclusion with the upcoming 3rd and Final Season. Fans of the show were taken by surprise with this seriously unexpected news.

In a recent advertisement from Penguin Random House (PRH), who was obtained by an undisclosed digital media insider; including one internet sleuth YouTuber, and also the online media insider individual in Los Angeles, California named ReyGGTV (whose real name as Randy Garita), it appears that the American streaming service called Netflix may have been release the show by Fall 2023 from a screengrab image, which was not independently verified to Radyo Bandera.

Additionally, the last opening intro for Season 3 was sought-after in the city of Trolberg and reportedly seen on Facebook's cover photo (which is owned by Meta Platforms Inc.).

In addition to the Final Season, 3 new graphic novels have also been obtained by Randy himself entitled "Laughing Merman", "Faratok Tree" & "Fairy Village", which expected to be released in November 2023. These novels are part of 'Hilda: The Series' provided by a graphic novel publisher Flying Eye Books (FEB).

Before the independent cartoon show on Netflix, there was a novel called 'Aubépine' & 'Aster', which served as a source of inspiration for Hilda. Show Creator named Luke Pearson, along with the animated production companies Silvergate Media and Mercury Filmworks, have granted to secure the streaming rights through Netflix in the United States of America (U.S.A.). The 3rd season of Hilda consists of 13 episodes, each with a runtime of 22 minutes. The actual release date might later change, but it is expected to coincide with the Christmas season or early Q1 2024.

Some reliable sources and insider individuals told exclusively to Radyo Bandera that the British-Canadian animated series on Netflix is fully legitimate, unless there is an accidental statement by default. Fans of the show are so alarming, because of a release date have already been leaked out Friday night (September 1st, 2023).

Regardless onto this, streaming fans are excited to explore Hilda's adventurous world one last time in Trolberg City, Scandinavia as the 3rd season approaches, leading after a new movie released of The Mountain King late-last December 2021 as a series follow-up -- despite for Season 3 release date is worth the wait before the Holiday season starts.

The new and final 3rd Season of Hilda streams this Fall 2023 at 12 MIDNIGHT (Pacific local time), only on Netflix.

j-hope and J. Cole

The song features J. Cole, the artist behind “Born Sinner”, the song that inspired “Born Singer”. There’s another hommage to him through the Billboard cover featuring him in the music shop in the WINGS Short Film #4 FIRST LOVE (it’s only visible in BEGIN and LIE though).

He’s a big influence for j-hope. Hobi referenced him on several occasions like in “힙합성애자 (Hip Hop Lover)“:

Cole World is J. Cole first studio album. And it’s the inspiration behind the title of j-hope’s first mixtape, Hope World.

The two of them met during the 2022 Lollapalooza Festival, where j-hope performed after releasing Jack In The Box.

Based on an Instagram story posted by the director Lumpens, it was noticed the beginning of the MV must be a nod to the MV for J. Cole’s “Simba” (src). The two videos were also shot in the same area with “Simba” basically ending where “On the street” begins:

You can spot a memorial at the beginning while the camera pans from one direction to the other. Based on the episode, it's a nod to a situation in the street where people "say goodbye because of unavoidable situations".

You only see them in the Episode but they are several custom made posters in the subway.

When j-hope exits the subway, you can see a poster (cr.) from a campaign for Adopt Us Kids, promoting adoption from foster care. It’s similar to the poster on this page but with a different citation: “We thought our Family was complete - we’re so happy to have been wrong”.

He also walks next to a billboard advertising Raye’s My 21st Century Blues, an album released the same day as “on the street”. She tweeted about it.

During the scenes on the rooftop, there a billboard in the background with “It’s my call” written on it. On the bottom left, a car similar to the on in “Chicken Noodle Soup” MV, with a chicken’s head on the rooftop can be seen. The sentence isn’t in either songs’ lyrics but there is a “Bring it back to this place called home (baby)” in “Chicken Noodle Soup”. Fans have also interpreted it as j-hope’s decision to do his military enlistment. In the Episode, you can see it’s actually an ad for Two Trees Management, offering offices in Dumbo.

As for the other billboard, that’s on the far left, it’s an ad for Ulla Johnson.

Filming locations

The scenes featuring J. Cole were filmed on the rooftop of a building in New York, here, next to the Manhattan bridge.

The photos and the beginning of the MV were shot in Cortland Alley.

Then they moved to the closed platform of Bowery subway station.

And j-hope left from this exit.

That's not as bad as it sounds. He'd had to get back to his car, and call AAA, and wait for it to get towed, and then take an Uber back to his place, and by the time he's done all that it's nearly noon and he's soaked in sweat and he hasn't eaten anything all day beyond a single glass of that damn green juice for breakfast right before the end of shift.

So. Real food, practically inhaled, and three glasses of water (another thing he hasn't had all day), and then he flips the switch that brings down the blinds and strips on his way to the shower. He leaves his clothes in a pile outside the bathroom door.

He just stands under the water for a while. He hasn't stopped moving all day. He's exhausted but too keyed up to sleep. He can't fucking believe it's finally done.

Thank god.

The relief is a dozen-fold. Connor and Kameron finally have what they need. They won't be calling ten times in a row or showing up at the station and blowing his cover. He can stop fighting his way into the clinic's lobby only to be turned away again and again. And.

Well.

He hadn't even sat down once he'd gotten into the room at the clinic. Barely glanced at the magazines before setting them aside. Hadn't even pictured anyone, not really, not beyond a vague idea of hot and tanned and muscles and curves. After a month— a fucking month— there was no time or need for fantasy, not even with the weirdness of there are strangers right outside that door, and they all know exactly what's going on. Pure physical reaction: button undone; zipper down; go, go, go, go, go. Stars exploding before his eyes, legs shaking so hard he could barely stand, almost fucking up the actual collection part when his whole lower body went numb with the release.

He's hard again just thinking about it. The way he'd gasped his way into it and then cried out, too far gone to care whether anyone could hear.

He exhales through pursed lips and pours conditioner into his hand.

Eddie sends him a selfie from the beach.

There are photos of Chris surfing as well, so that's got to be why he send them in the first place, but. This one. Full screen.

Goddamn.

He hesitates. Swipes the photo closed.

Brings it back up again.

Jesus Christ.

He forces himself to close the photo. Pulls up porn instead.

One of the guys in the scene looks like Eddie.

He tries not to think about it, and fails.

Okay. He's got himself under control.

His month of need is satisfied (at least, it'd better be, after three times in half a day…), he can eat what he wants, and the deed is done. So. He can just move on. Not think about any of it.

Yeah.

Eddie texts him just as he's thinking about what he's going to do about dinner. Want to come over?

Fuck.

He does not get hard when Eddie gives him a hug at the door.

There's a rush, though. This certainty that if he hadn't spend the entire day exhausting himself, he'd be up for it again.

Heat rises in his cheeks.

He thinks about Pennsylvania winters, and freezing lakes.

Exhales, and smiles at Eddie like he hasn't lost his mind, and the moment is over before Chris comes into the room.

Dinner is good. Normal. They play a board game, after, and have some ice cream, and watch just one episode (yeah, turns out to be two) of this show Chris has successfully gotten Eddie hooked on. Chris is falling asleep on Buck's shoulder by the time it's done, and Buck's head fucking aches with how much he wants nights like tonight all the time. With how fast Chris is growing up. With how much he misses when he's not there.

You do realize he's not your kid, some voice in his head says, and the wash of it is bitter in his mouth.

Eddie's looking at him, concerned. Buck swallows and shakes his head. Shakes himself. Gently convinces Chris to wake up enough to make it to his room.

"Come on, kiddo. Time for bed."

Chris mumbles a half-hearted protest, but lets Buck pull him to his feet. Braces himself on Buck's arm for the walk down the hall, his muscles uncoordinated with sleep.

"Night," Chris says through a huge yawn, and Buck ruffles his hair.

"Good night. Sleep well."

~ ~ ~

He's tired enough that he's thinking about heading home so that he can go to sleep, too, even though it's not even nine.

Thinking about it makes it worse: The tiredness and the thought of trading the coziness of the Diaz house for the emptiness of his own apartment.

Not just fatigue and dispassion.

Exhaustion and dread.

"Buck?"

His hands are shaking, just a little. He tucks them under his thighs.

"Yeah."

Eddie's standing at the entrance to the living room, looking at him with concern again. "Do you want something to drink?"

"Oh. Uh." He pulls a hand down his face. It comes away damp with sweat. "Water?"

The furrow of Eddie's eyebrows deepens. "Okay?"

He should've asked for a beer.

"So," Eddie says, when he comes back with water for Buck and a beer for himself. "Sperm donation?"

Buck groans and hides his face in his hands. Eddie sets down his water on the coffee table and sits down next to him on the couch. Buck was hoping they could have this conversation from further across the room. Or never. "Connor's an old friend. They needed help; I decided to help."

"Hmm." Eddie takes a sip of his beer.

"What?" Buck turns his head in his hands to look at him sideways.

"What's the story with them…" Eddie gestures vaguely with his beer bottle. "Showing up at work?"

Buck sits up enough to grab his water off of the coffee table, and takes a sip. "They got nervous. The process was taking… longer than expected."

Eddie raises his eyebrows.

"Not that part! Just." He takes another sip of water to avoid meeting Eddie's eyes. "Every time I tried to go to the clinic, there was some sort of roadblock. Sometimes literally a roadblock."

"So you've been at this for…?"

He squeezes his eyes closed, already knowing what Eddie's going to say. "A month."

"A month?" Eddie leans in, incredulous. "And you just… didn't mention this? At all? For a month?"

"It wasn't supposed to take that long!" Defensive. "It just kept getting pushed back."

"Wait." Eddie's eyebrows furrow. "A month since they asked, or a month of roadblocks?"

He bites his lip, guilty.

"Buck!"

"I didn't…" He squeezes his eyes shut again. "I didn't want you to try to talk me out of it. Or into it, I don't know! I just needed to make the decision myself."

"With Hen," Eddie says, and Buck groans.

"Yes, okay, with Hen! And Maddie."

"Okay!" Pointedly nonchalant. Like that doesn't bother him at all.

It's not remotely convincing.

"Sorry." Looking at the ground.

Eddie softens. "Okay. So they asked, and you said yes, and then you spent a month running into roadblocks."

"And drinking green juice." Head tipped back against the couch. "And not—" Jesus, he's not even drunk. He snaps his mouth closed and sits up.

Real smooth.

"And not…?" Eddie asks suspiciously.

Oh, god. "Um. You know." His cheeks are burning again.

"I do not." Eyebrows maximally raised.

"Uh." He makes an entirely unhelpful hand gesture. "Practicing for the big day?"

"What?" Utter confusion, and then Buck can see the moment that it clicks. "Oh—"

"Yeah."

"Buck." He puts down his beer. "A month?"

"It wasn't supposed to be that long!"

"I would've…" An equally vague gesture. "Exploded, probably."

Oh, god. These images of Eddie, alone in his bedroom, giving in to the need. Of the point where every brush of fabric takes him right to the edge. Of wet dreams. He pulls a pillow into his lap. "It was… not ideal."

"And then they showed up." Serious, again. "Which is…" He clasps Buck's shoulder, which does not help the other issue at hand. "Not great."

Buck blinks at him. "Well, they tried to call."

"Okay? Did they try leaving a voicemail? Waiting until you were off shift?"

"It was… urgent, I guess. With the… cycle, and everything." God, how did he end up talking about his ex-roommate's wife's ovulation with his best friend? "If they didn't get it in time, they would've had to wait another month."

"And they didn't have that information a week ago?"

"I don't know, Eddie, okay?" He crosses one arm across his chest and picks at the pillow's seam with the other. "It's done."

Eddie's quiet for a minute, drinking his beer. "So what happens now?"

Buck gives him a look. "I think you know what happens now."

Eddie doesn't take the bait. "Do you get to find out if it works?"

Buck frowns. "Why wouldn't I get to find out if it works?"

"I don't know, that might not be part of the deal for some people. What did you guys agree to?" At Buck's look of confusion: "Like, level of contact? Will you get pictures? Did you give them permission to tell the kid who you are?"

"I…" Buck's suddenly very cold. "I don't know." He swipes at his forehead, and his hand comes away sweaty again.

Eddie puts his beer back down. "You didn't talk through any of that?"

"No?" He's starting to feel slightly sick.

"But you signed some sort of paperwork."

"At the clinic, but that was just the, yes, it's me, I'm donating to these people, all that." He frowns. "I think. I was kind of in a rush."

"Buck."

"What does it matter? It's done." He picks up his water with a shaking hand.

Eddie scrubs at the spot between his eyes. "It's done until this kid gets on 23andMe in eighteen years and nine months. Or until you start getting pregnancy updates and birth updates and baby updates and then it all just kind of… fades away. Or until you go fourteen years with nothing and then they decide the kid is old enough for them to give them your name, and next thing you know they're following you on social media. Or showing up at your place of work."

"Eddie." Almost a whisper.

He shakes his head. "I promise I'm not trying to be cruel. This is just the sort of shit you have to think about. Talk about. Because…" He hesitates, then plows ahead. "These people don't seem like they have the strongest grasp on boundaries. Among other things."

"Eddie," he says again, a little bit desperate, because it's done, okay? It's done.

He's sweating. His heart is beating fast. It feels like he can't quite breathe.

He tries.

His chest is tight. Too tight.

He's shaking.

He's not getting enough air.

"Hey." Eddie, in close. "Oh, hey, no, you're okay."

Is he? He feels like he's losing his mind.

The weight of Eddie's hands on his shoulders takes him by surprise and grounds him in equal measure.

"Okay," Eddie's saying. "Okay."

He's taking slow, deep breaths, waiting for Buck to mirror him.

He can't,

and then he thinks, maybe—

and then he does.

Okay.

He's shivery in the aftermath, head aching from the tension.

Eddie's hand is on his forehead as soon as he starts to come down.

So.

Maybe not just from the tension.

"What do you think," Eddie murmurs, running his fingers through Buck's hair, "stress fever?" He traces down Buck's jawline and Buck shivers. Eddie frowns when he hits the tender lymph nodes under Buck's jaw. "Or fever-fever?"

He wants to sink into Eddie's arms. "Stress," he manages, and Eddie nods. Sometimes he wishes Eddie didn't know that particular quirk about him.

He also can't picture a world in which Eddie doesn't know.

Or.

He could.

It's lonely, and it's cold.

He shivers again.

"Lie down. I'll get you a blanket."

He does.

He opens his eyes to darkness.

His throat hurts, and his head hurts, and he has to pee.

Well, one of those he can fix, anyway.

Eddie calls his name when he opens the bathroom door when he's done. Buck hesitates, then pushes open Eddie's bedroom door.

"C'mere." His voice is rough with sleep and his hair is a mess. Buck steps forward, and Eddie catches his hand and pulls him to sit down next to him on the bed. "How're you doing?"

Buck shrugs.

"Baby, you are the most beautiful person I've ever met. Your skin practically glows, without makeup. The rumor is sometimes true, but what you've heard is not how I work. My photos come out beautiful because I love what I do. Right here, right now, if I'd take a picture of you… I'd have to be behind the couch. The next day around 16:00 you began to get ready, throwing on an oversized baby blue sweater, some skinny jeans and white slip on Vans. You style your hair, grab your bag and keys, leaving quickly.

You walked past the same magazine stand and noticed all the magazines with Taehyung's main model on the cover were replaced by a new model and a photographer named Jungkook.

In a slightly better mood you practically skipped to the restaurant you always eat at on date nights before heading to the studio.

As you walked in you smiled at the secretary that you hadn't seen in a while. "H-Hi Jiminie." The boy's head snapped in your direction, "Y/N? It's been forever!" He squealed and walked around the desk, hugging you immediately. You smiled and hugged back, your sweater paw on his back. "You here for Tae?" 

You nodded at his best friend and he led you to his studio. "He's working on a lingerie shoot, promise me you won't be upset." You chuckled sweetly and hummed, "It's his job, no?" Jimin sighed and opened the door, walking you in quietly.

You sat Taehyung's food on a folding chair that said his name, sitting in one Jimin brought over. Taehyung was about a foot away on a bedroom set, photographing a woman in black lingerie. You smiled at him as he began his last set of photos.

I smelled my favorite meal and knew my baby had made it. After my last set of photos I looked up at him, the light was casting a shadow on him, but he looked stunning.

The model that made Y/N feel less than stormed in, a group of people following him. I rolled my eyes, "I'm just the photographer, Jungkook. Not the publisher." The smaller male walked over and shoved him, "You're an ass! You know you have input!" 

I groaned, "SO DOES EVERY FUCKING PHOTOGRAPHER IN THIS DAMNED BUILDING! GO ASK THE FUCKING PUBLISHER WHY YOU WERE ONLY ON THE COVER FOR A DAY!" 

Jungkook looked pissed as he raised his hand but was stopped by Y/N.

He let his wrist go, "I will not allow you to hit my husband. I don't know what you think this is. You may be a model, but his photos made you who you are." Jungkook sneered his nose and scoffed, hearing hushed whispers talking about how gorgeous Y/N was. 

Jungkook spun on his heel, stomping out, screaming at the group to follow him.

As the group left, Y/N came toward me and hugged me. I smiled and rubbed his hair… "Before we eat," I waved away the other photographers and Jimin, mouthing for him to lock the door. He chuckled and I continued, "Want to take some photos? Just for us… Maybe my office."

The reported decision by Vogue and Anna Wintour to sever ties with Kanye West comes as the rapper continues to deal with the consequences of antisemitic comments and other racist antics.

Vogue magazine has become the latest major player in the fashion industry to drop Kanye West following a series of racist stunts, bullying, and antisemitic comments.

A spokesperson for the publication told Page 6 on Friday that neither Vogue nor editor-in-chief Anna Wintour would be working with the artist for the foreseeable future. Publisher ​​Condé Nast did not immediately respond to a request for comment, nor did a representative for Ye.

More than a decade since his first appearance on the illustrious red carpet of the Met gala in 2009, West, who now legally goes by the name Ye, has seen his ties to major fashion and corporate brands evaporate since his racist antics. On Friday, luxury fashion house Balenciaga announced that it would also be cutting ties.

Vogue’s decision to distance itself from Ye comes in response to the antisemitic rants, which resulted in him having his social media accounts temporarily restricted. In a now-removed tweet, Ye wrote that he planned to go “death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE,” sparking strong backlash from Black and Jewish communities.

Vogue is also not on board with Ye’s support for the White Lives Matter movement, which was featured on shirts at his Yeezy show during the most recent Paris Fashion Week.

Shortly after the show, Ye was accused of bullying Vogue fashion editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, who criticized the offensive shirts, calling them “pure violence.”

“There is no excuse, there is no art here,” she said at the time. “I do think if you asked Kanye, he’d say there was art, and revolution, and all of the things in that T-shirt. There isn’t.”

Ye responded by mocking Karefa-Johnson on social media.

Vogue issued a statement of support for Karefa-Johnson, saying that it stood with her and called Ye’s behavior “unacceptable."

The two allegedly reconciled in a two-hour sit-down filmed by Elvis director Baz Luhrmann — at the request of Wintour.

The relationship between Wintour and Ye goes back over a decade, with Ye once bragging about having dinner with the iconic editor in his 2012 single Cold.

Ye’s campaign to have now ex-wife Kim Kardashian on Vogue materialized in 2014 when the couple appeared on the cover in the lead-up to their star studded wedding in Italy, cementing their status as a fashion power couple.

In an interview with Vogue, Kardashian confirmed that it was Wintour’s cosign that convinced the couple to name their first child North West, calling the decision “genius.”

Meanwhile, pressure is mounting for other collaborators to end their relationships with Ye. Adidas has said that it would be reviewing its collaboration with the Yeezy creator amid calls from critics, including Friends actor David Schwimmer, for the sportswear brand to drop Ye permanently.

Schwimmer took to Instagram on Friday to share an excerpt from the now-removed Drink Champs episode where Ye bragged that Adidas couldn’t sever ties.

"I can literally say antisemitic things and Adidas can't drop me...Now what?” Ye said.

Schwimmer posted the clip, along with the message "Now what," directed at the Adidas Instagram account.

Adidas did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Giant Robot Biennale 5 Now Open

Giant Robot Biennale 5 is now open at JANM in Little Tokyo.

Move over Frieze. The fifth edition of the Giant Robot Biennale opened on Friday night (March 1) at the Japanese American National Museum (JANM) in L.A.'s Little Tokyo.

The art exhibition, which has recurred since 2007, was once again organized by JANM and Eric Nakamura, founder of Giant Robot — the former magazine and now shop and gallery on Sawtelle Boulevard.

Channeling the Giant Robot ethos, the Biennale highlights an array of Asian and Asian American alternative pop art and culture works, taking inspiration from skateboard culture, comic books, graphic design, and vinyl toy culture.

The opening night featured hundreds of guests waiting in winding lines — JANM is a smaller museum — to see works by artists Sean Chao, Felicia Chiao, Luke Chueh, Giorgiko, James Jean, Taylor Lee, Mike Shinoda, Rain Szeto, and Yoskay Yamamoto and others. 

The exhibition spreads across three rooms, with eye-catching works stretching end-to-end. Here are a few of our favorites.

anyway i emailed me resume to that kbbq place.. i can't wait to wash dishes and think about killing myself every day. i already do that but it's less, i dunno, meaningful, it's just like, yeah that's something that happens sometimes. maybe it'll just be that when i wash dishes again. it probably will be. i'm just a stupid dramatic bitch.

anyway that picture is really funny, it's too much, it's probably been posted like a million times, it's such perfect fodder for what people put up here usually.

anyway here's some other stuff i was finding from old gyaru fashion mags (looking for references for cover art):

a very young girl thing of me to do, stare at fashion mags to absorb their ways of expressing / presenting reality, graphical means and so on. but i guess everybody is like that in their own ways. guys staring at old mde videos for inspiration are more young girls than me, at least i know these are kind of psycho. this is a vapid way to think but it's funny, which is why i am doing it.

mde is on the mind because my gf started watching fishtank recently. it seems mostly insane and evil, but that's fascinating to see so i get her watching it. it's the next generation of jerry springer, i think, or other shit like that. drama youtube and fishtank, that's the next generation of trashy reality tv. it's scary to me that this stuff just won't disappear, an evil impulse in spectacular societies, to not ever look away from these kinds of systems that make people behave certain ways, and to goad people into being insane to feel like you see the evil parts of culture or whatever. or not just evil, the ugly degenerate stuff, to feel like you can always sense that. fishtank really seems to love that for its 2nd season.

anyway sam hyde is such a piece of shit, too much breath here has been wasted on that freak pedophile.

anyway today, since i got to every song re: mixing finally, i decided to listen to the album as i have it rn, at first i was a little over an hour but i cut songs, now it's 48 minutes. i'll say there's room for +/- 1 min (really like 1 min 30 w/ short songs). but idk. i should see if i can shorten some of the songs here naturally, like if they have parts that repeat too much, take too long to get to their points, whatever. there's one song that's a maybe, it depends on if i can get it to sound right and find the right place for it. i love the song, so i want to keep it in the album. i should see if there's any short song rn that i don't want to keep, but i feel really attached to them all. actually there's another maybe too, both need to be placed right i think. they both kind of stick funny in the album. they need to fit in a bit better, idk how to do that w/ the second one but i like it a lot, there's just a part that's not right yet i think, in terms of how it sounds, it could be a bit crazier, louder, noisier maybe.

when i listened i took notes on some of the songs that needed special attention at the front of the record, i got through 6 of those, the list is of 8, so 2 more tomorrow and then i go through and listen again and try to see what else needs to change.

there's like 33 songs, so there's still a lot to get through but if i can maintain this pace/something like this pace, i'll be very happy.

right now i am just thinking about how my misanthropy comes in waves, but for a long time now, it's been given no reason to recede. something about pessimism is basically addictive but i don't think i'm in some mental-opiate haze, where i am, about people, at least some of them. it feels solidly under my feet, i know something totally pyrrhic, so many people i know, i have to keep asterisks on my relationships with them, because they just say awful things or reveal things. communist friends, even, maybe them especially. it's not about my feeling that i'm better even, it's just this overwhelming being used to finding out someone you know says "i'm glad (x) is transphobic too", to someone you know, a closer friend meeting someone from online. it's like, i knew he felt that way, i knew the person he was talking about felt that way too, my friend probably knew too, he is frustrated because it's stupid that anyone would decide to confide this in you. when pushed on it, this person who i guess is still basically something like a friend said "well it's because of andrea dworkin. it's feminist," which is so stupid and gross. i hate what radical feminism means now, or in the hands of people like that, i also hate that i basically know and expect this kind of thing from people who are close friends w/ this other friend (with asterisks) because she sort of becomes their whole moral/political compass because she's the kind of person who you want to agree w/ you or tell you that you're fine and whatever.

beyond this, other insane social failures that have left my friends, my closer ones who i don't have to put asterisks on, miserable and paranoid. not a terrible sort of paranoid, like this other guy i knew, who believed the satanic panic was real and all kinds of other shit. he also was vaguely transphobic, worried about the biopolitical consequences of hrt. seeing that problem and not questioning the broader circumstance that put us here, and instead accepting the reactionary assumption that this kind of thing is wasteful and dangerous from the jump, and feeding a fantasy or whatever. messing with your body is too far. he accepted people otherwise though, the paranoid guy, he was very catholic and maybe just not sure of things entirely. transphobic is ultimately only half right for these people, he really did accept people, when i told him about diy hrt, he was shocked and it seemed to change his mind on something, i couldn't tell what. but his obsession with child abuse cults and conspiracies broadly made him impossible to really talk to. he was also a communist. i am not complaining about communism, just expressing that these are not fascists.

i don't really know what i'm talking about. a lot of these people are just so frustrating. i don't know why they are like this.

Afternoon. Riot down at Union Square. A You Tube "influencer" (this means little to me; sort of, one guesses, like a performance artist)...promises a giveway. A Play Station (I sort of know what that is). Thousands of kids show up for this, find out it's all a scam, and go wild, tearing up everything. Big mess. And given the emotional temperature of the city, the cops have to take a pelting and be gentle.

A recurring dream: it is closing night (of a show?) and i have to empty my locker. I have accumulated too much stuff. Books, some clothing, magazines, photos, memorabilia. I realize I will have to make (at least) two trips. But I have no idea where I'm taking all this.

Beautiful weather continues. Errands.

On his social media site DJT posts: "If you come after me I'm coming after you." All caps, of course. Real "Sopranos" stuff. DJT had been warned, on Thursday, not to threaten witnesses. Already his handlers are saying this statement, so Trumpian and coming from such a coward, was aimed at political opponents. (DeSantis? Who becomes more unpopular even as he campaigns.) Freedom of speech and all that.

Trump speaks in South Carolina. More b.s. Adoring crowd, of course. Big laugh when he talks about his indictments. Lindsay Graham present. What a pathetic little man. Lapdog. One realizes he is the senatorial heir to Strom Thurman. ye

Article in New Yorker by Louis Menand about the bombing of Clinton, TN high school in '58. I remember being told by our (Oak Ridge) band director that we were to play for the Clinton kids who, without a working school, had to be bused in to hold their classes in an unusued elementary school. The Clinton kids hated the Oak Ridge kids (understandably...I mean, we always trounced them at football). We thought they were hicks. On that mornings, as yellow schoolbuses pulled in, the Clintonians opened windows and gave us the middle finger salute. (Who wanted to go to school anyway?) But we welcomed them and even made the cover of Life magazine. I have a photo somewhere in the apartment. (Obiter dictum: The article states that the KKK rabble-rouser/bomber [Kasper] was fascinated by Ezra Pound. Who knew. Actually went to see the old boy at St. Elizabeth's and can't help wondering if they discussed "The Cantos.")
