The Public Update is now live! 🎉

Hey guys! The public update is now live! 🥳 The update brings 27K new words (excluding codes) into the demo, bringing the overall word count to 384K words!

Some new stuff to expect from the update (without spoilers 🤭):

Some changes and options additions in Ash's Hangout.

A whole new section and new scenes added at the end of Ash's Hangout.

A (promised) brunch with Rin 😉

Just a word of warning, I did change one or two variables in the previous iteration of Chapter 7, so if you're using an old save file, there's a small chance it might give some error. But hopefully it doesn't. Of course, the safer way would be to play with a new, clean save (either playing from the beginning or use the quickstart to get to Chapter 6 immediately).

Anyway, I'll start answering spoiler asks regarding the update in a day or two 😉 And when I answer them, I'll make sure to tag them with the #chapter 7 spoiler tag.

Regarding the State of the Demo

Hello Everyone!

First of all, thank you to everyone who messaged me regarding the news of Dashingdon shutting down. I was so shocked to hear that a huge archive of so many works was going to disappear, and my heart truly goes out to the community who has thrived on that site for so long. It's so difficult as a creative to find a platform to host your work, especially if it's as niche as interactive fiction, so to see one place coming to an end is truly sad.

As far as GotRM is concerned however, thank you again to those who were thinking of me and my wip to bring this my attention. I have my own CS code saved on my computer, so nothing will be lost on my end, and for those who worried about losing the demo: I have decided to do a soft launch on itch.io!

This will unfortunately only be the prologue, since transferring Chapters 1-3 is still slow-going, but I hope this shows that I haven't abandoned this project and I'm still determined to bring this story to you.

As it is, school is still beating me up, so I'm not expecting to make much progress in writing until after March. However, if there are any questions (or issues with the new demo!) please let me know, and I will definitely implement them in the next update.

Tony took a sip of tea to fill the silence. After a brief pause, he said, “This tastes fucking awful.”

“You don’t like drinking chamomile tea you fucking idiot,” Natasha snapped, glaring at him, and reached out to take his mug. “I got it so you could breathe it in. It’s for aromatherapy.”

“Oh, so it’s not a vampire thing?” Tony asked as she yanked it from his grip. He sounded genuinely surprised.

Steve looked at him for a moment, then asked, “Do you just. Put things in your mouth whether you like them or not?”

Tony kept his mouth closed for several minutes, but Steve was willing to wait him out for his answer. Finally, he answered, ��Well, first of all, everything kind of goes to ash in my mouth now—”

“But before that,” Steve cut in, staring him down.

Tony met his gaze challengingly. “It’ll upset you.”

“I’m always upset,” Steve answered.

A muscle ticked in Tony’s jaw. He glanced at Natasha for help, but she lifted her mug and took a very loud sip. He turned his gaze back on Steve. “I did so much coke between eighteen and twenty-two that it changed how I taste things. I beat Van Damme.”

“You blew over ten thousand a week on cocaine?!” Natasha sputtered, tea flying out of her mouth and down her chin. “How are you still alive?!”

“I had plastic surgery to rebuild my sinus cavities,” Tony answered helpfully.

“…You know, this one’s on me,” Steve decided. He was not going to do the math. Not only would it look worse with inflation, but cocaine usage was also on its way out in terms of legality. He did not want to think about why Natasha looked both horrified and impressed. “So I’m choosing to forget I ever asked.”

“Have some tea,” Natasha offered, holding Tony’s mug out to him.

Steve scowled at her. “I’m not drinking fucking soap.”

"Just because it has a floral flavor does not mean it tastes like fucking soap, you dog-brained curmudgeon," Natasha snapped back at him, and Tony covered his mouth to muffle a giggle and sidled out of the room while he could.

writing updates & the future of Et Auream

Hello friends! So, this decision has been weighing on my mind ever since I started writing Et Auream (it’s my literal baby) when I first embarked on the process of writing it, it started with inspo from gladiator 2

I started writing it back in July (the same day the trailer came out) having no idea just how deeply invested I would become in the story. It was going to be an x reader oneshot and then the story decided to shift gears and quite literally started to write itself

I strayed far from the canon universe to the point where the material I have been writing is from my own imagination. Geta, Caracalla, and Acacius have been OC’s in my head for months ;-;

As of recently, I have finished the process of giving them entirely new names to match the personalities, lore, backstories, etc that I have given them

Geta is now : Proculus Servius Gaius

Caracalla is now : Lucius Servius Caelius (Caeli is his nickname)

Acacius is now : Marcus Valerius Aelius

Aurelia, Laveda and the rest of the original characters already in the story will be staying as is

and with this change, I am no longer writing this story as fanfiction. I am fully embarking on turning this into my first book, and I plan (hope) to have the first draft completed by the end of the year before starting the revision process and the road to getting published 🤞🏻

This means that I will not be updating the masterlist with new chapters, but I will keep the current chapters up until I have the first draft completed.

This also means that for the indefinite future, I will not be writing fanfiction. (This could of course change, but this story is my passion project and I am pouring my blood sweat and tears into it)

However, I still plan on sharing my writing journey with you all, and I am starting a writing IG page to officially kick off this new era for me 🥹

Your endless support has inspired me so much as a person and aspiring writer, and I genuinely cannot thank you all enough.

I did a writing workshop with a selection from my wip about jkr and it turns out there's a significant portion of the non-chronically-online fanbase that doesn't know she's a terf at all. I don't really know what to do with this information. I thought it was common knowledge at this point.

Chapter 6 Part 3 + Major System Public Update! 🎉

Hello everyone! 👋 It's finally time for the public update! 😁 This update brings in 24K of new words, bringing Chapter 6 wordcount in total to 89.4K words and the total demo wordcount to 325.3K words! This update brings Chapter 6 to a neat close, which is important because to me, Chapter 6 is like the end of the first arc of the book. 

Not only that, but I have also added a few major coding functions with this update, namely, a skip chapter function, and an autosave and reload function. I'm aware that my demo is getting longer, so I assume a skip chapter function might  be a welcome addition. 

It took me a long time to plan and figure out how to implement these systems, but in the end, after a lot of personal testing, I have finally managed to make them work.

WARNING: It's highly advised that you either play from the beginning with clean saves (or try out the new skip chapter function). I messed with some of the old variables as well, including Santana's and Skylar's default relationship values. Do not reload the saves to avoid potential future errors.

What's to expect from the new update:

Dropping Rin off to their apartment (and maybe, if you've been a good boy/girl, you can get a little smooch 😘)

Have an angsty talk with Uncle Luka 😥

But don't worry, there are potential wholesome moments too (if you choose them, of course 😉)

New stuff added to previous chapters:

Chapter 2: Add proper introduction scene with Ivan and Boris, the twin bodyguards, highlighting their different personalities and their relationship with MC and Ash. They have changed quite a lot and become more fleshed out compared to the first time I wrote them.

Chapter 4: For MCs who said yes to Yvette when she asked them whether they are interested in becoming a Superhero, you now have the option to accept her guidance and reconnect with her or reject her guidance but still have a choice whether to reconnect with her or not. This is in contrast to how those who said yes was forced to reconnect with her.

Chapter 6: Meddle, fix, and add some background variables. Another reason to play from the beginning and to not load old saves.

HI MY BABIES LUNA IS BACK,

i am so sorry for being mia. i had been sick for so long and i just had zero energy for anything. i was upset, depressed, dealing with stuff at work and i just survived every day while recovering from my flu.

i promise i am back now, working on the final chapter of strategy.

truth be told, i am heavily struggling with this chapter. and i'm sick of writing series. you won't see me writing series in a LONG time, and if the time ever comes again, i'm gonna do what i did with tae's fic. just two chappies and nothing else.

i've been attuned to hobi's tour. and let me tell you—luna is nawt okay. i need to write something filthy ASAP. my husband has been wilding out and i can't. omg. i can't. also been missing yoongi and namjoon... jimin... jungkook... tae... jin... ALL OF EM.

what has been helping me quiet my mind was actually drawing. i drew a little kuromi for my bsf's bday and i rediscovered my love for it. i hadn't drawn anything for 7 years until last saturday... it's crazy. i truly believe that drawing has helped me come back to writing and come back to you.

i need your love more than anything. this chapter of strategy is hell and i fear i will leave you disappointed. i'm running on empty, but i'll still try my hardest to just GET something out.
