Pairing 1: Emasculateshipping(Professor Cronos de Medici | Dr. Vellian Crowler/Napoleon | Jean-Louis Bonaparte)

Propaganda: As the Funny European Team Rocket Men of GX, the two are almost too obvious-- not just in how much time they spend together or how much of that time seems a bit too intimate for men who are supposedly just work buddies. The ship, with its participants being based on historical figures (obviously, Napoleon Bonaparte and the Medici family respectively), the ship therefore has a real-world historical precedent of sorts (Napoleon was Italian; two Medici women married into French royalty); the two have similar and compatible priorities (Cronos being first and foremost concerned with his babies-- ahem, *students*, while Napoleon is mostly worried about his own son; the step-father potential in Cronos is Immaculate) and, of course, the ship is very funny-- not in the least because you have two men, one single in his mid-thirties while the other is divorced in his fifties, thereby trying to navigate their relationship like a pair of stupid teenagers. But of course, there is also serious potential in the ship as well. After all, Napoleon's divorce means that he's going to be extremely anxious about screwing up a good thing again, while for Cronos it's a potential red flag that their relationship will end in disaster. The plot of season 3 also gives them both immense pain to work through, after all that they've been helpless as their respective kids suffered. It's easy to overlook them both, especially Napoleon (I promise that's not a joke at the expense of his height, he's just kinda mainly remembered for how he's introduced in season 2 as French Cis Cronos and has little unique character of his own until Martin's introduction), but there's absolutely something to engage with both in the characters themselves and in the interactions between them. Also they literally went on a picnic date while watching Judai duel once they're gay your honor

what is your opinion on Thirdshipping (Blair/ Rei x Marcel /Martin) because i don't see many people talk about this ship?

I didn’t even know this was a named ship but having scrolled the GX ship list a couple of time for femslash february related purposes, I’m not surprised because holy fuck, the GX’ers were very keen and eager to name everything and then again

I;m actually only up to Judai vs Yubel!Marcel soooo that is going to limit me a little bit but I won’t lie, I remember my nose twitching going “I wonder if this will be Ominously Heterosexual soon...?” since Rei and Marcel have that connection. Friendship...? I don’t really remember D:

but it has potential, maybe??? like friends to lovers is always a solid foundation, even if it one I don’t find particularly exciting (I am a childhood friends to lovers stan) and/or needs one hell of a gimmick for me to care. like. in my eyes. friends to lovers is the least important garnish on a plate.  and, unfortunately, with my current GX knowledge, Rei/Marcel does not have that gimmick

but I don’t think its bad, it’s just okay, I might need to watch some more for it to get good but eh

YGO Rare Pair Week Day 4

Prompt: Post Canon

Pairing: Trans Masc Rei Saotome/Martin Kanou

Word Count: 506

Summary: Martin realises that he still has a crush on Rei, even after Rei’s transition.

Rei was lying in the grass beside the small Slifer Red dorm rooms, one of which as an Obelisk Blue student, he at his request, now called home. It was simply easier than staying in either the male or female dorms in Obelisk Blue. Besides, he had a nice view of the sky out here. The school completely hid the setting sun from view, casting most of the sky in a dark indigo with orange and pink streaks beside the school. If Rei squinted hard enough, he could spot dim stars among the indigo.

“Rei…” A small voice broke the silence of the early night.

Rei sat up. Martin was standing in the grass several paces away from Rei, staring off into the distance and shyly gripping his arm.

“Hey Martin!” Rei smiled and waved to him. “I haven't seen you around much! How ya been?”

“Just… studying for finals…” Martin’s voice was small and quiet as usual, though perhaps more so somehow. “Can I… sit with you?”

Rei nodded. “Sure!”

Martin shifted to sit next to Rei, his fingers tugging nervously at the blades of grass. Rei gently nudged his friend’s shoulder.

“Something bothering ya, Marty?” His tone was light-hearted, but he was genuinely a bit worried.

“I… um…” Martin bit his lip. “Can I… um… would it… be weird if… I mean… you still like boys, right?”

Rei snorted with laughter. “You mean even now that I know I’m a boy? Yeah, I still like boys… Well, one boy that is.”

Rei couldn’t help but smirk at his own words, staring at said oblivious boy: his best friend since he started at Duel Academia.

Martin turned to him. “Which boy? The Kaiser? Judai?”

He was clearly asking in earnest but Rei couldn’t help but crack up regardless. “No, no, a new boy. A sweet boy in Ra Yellow who's on track to getting into Obelisk Blue with me in our second year.”

“Oh?” Martin blinked. “Have I heard of him?”

Rei giggled even harder. “Oh, I think you have, yes. He’s a good friend of mine. My best friend in fact. I don't know if he likes boys but… I hope he does “

Martin leaned a bit closer. “Who is this boy?”

“He’s you, dumbie!” Rei grabbed Martin's shoulders, shaking him playfully. “Come on! Are you dense?”

“O-oh…” Martin’s cheeks reddened ever so slightly though for once, he didn’t take his eyes off Rei.

“So… uh…” Rei let go of Martin's shoulders, looking away. “Guessing you don't… like me back, huh?”

“I… well…” Martin bit his lip. “I always kinda… had a crush on you… and I don't think that ever really went away… Even now that you're a boy… I guess I… like both? Boys and girls I mean.”

Rei gasped happily, looking back at him. “S-so?! That's a yes then?!”

Martin smiled. “Y-yeah… it's a yes.”

“YES!” Rei couldn't help but break into a cheerful squeal, then lean in to kiss Martin on the cheek.

Martin smiled, his cheeks red as cherries.

Propaganda: i love shipping judai with anyone else, including this ship, but it was however overshadowed by gx rivalshipping which was used to be my all time favorite. looking back to the gx fandom after my main hyperfixation (which was erm… yugioh gx) was replaced by smg4 last year, i want to move on from that popular ship and become a fusionshipper instead.

I like them :)

I know it's partially because I wrote them as friends in my Rei fic, but I really do like their friendship. They're so much younger than all their peers (at least Martin looks quite a bit younger) so I think it's sweet that they at least have each other.

And also all their screentime so far has been Rei demanding that he eat stuff and that's funny to me.
