Here's the updated designs of the Toon Smiling Critters, as well as a height comparison!

All of them are in T poses as well due to the fact I'm trying to make reference sheets for everyone. Maybe I'll try to make a line up of all the Nightmare Critters next. But hey! Hopefully you guys like them~!

The Angel from Save Everyone AU/Poppy Worldwide would be the perfect person to be thrown into a "who framed Roger Rabbit" type of scenario, tbh. They're living their normal life when all of a sudden a cartoony girl (Poppy) appears in their tiny house and explains that Angel is the only person who can help her save her friends from the scientists that created them. Angel only accepts going because they can't say no to such a poor kid.

A week later they're screaming, driving a car well above the speed limit, every single toy inside the vehicle as Pierre is chasing after them on his own car. Dubidubidu by Christell is playing on maximum volume as the chase music. Dogday and Bobby are holding Catnap's tail as he's flying outside the van like a kite. Hoppy, Kickin, Picky and Boxy Boo are throwing increasingly absurd objects at the road in order to make Pierre Mario Kart his way into a car accident, while Crafty makes said items for them to use. Kissy and Huggy are singing along. Poppy is hyperventilating. Delight and Bubba are trying to make a machine work, which they'll probably finish making in a crucial moment and throw it at Pierre, thus ending the chase. Mommy Long Legs is using herself to make the car pull increasingly absurd stunts, holding to poles to make it turn without losing speed. The other toys are all singing along the song. The cops are going after them.

Unbuilt Podcast Unveils Rejected "DuckTales (2017)" Ride At Mickey's Toontown Who Was Going To Replace "Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin"

Unbuilt Podcast revealed a never-before-seen look at a DuckTales themed attraction that was set to replace "Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin" in Toontown.

The overall story of the ride was going to be Donald Duck getting accidentaly zapped by Gyro's Time Machine thanks to Huey, Dewey, Louie & Webby Vanderquack McDuck. The ride would have showcased Donald meeting Abraham Lincoln and ending with a battle againts Mágica de Spell alongside cameos of Bubba Duck and a nod to Mr Toad.

The pitch was presented in April 2020 but was scrapped due COVID-19 cuts at Walt Disney Imagineering.

The light in your room flicks on, followed by your daddy walking into your room, gently shaking you awake. You roll over, blinking open bleary eyes, whining a little. “Mornin’, little man,” Nat says, chucking your chin. You make an incoherent noise, rubbing your sleepy eyes. “Someone’s sleepy, huh.” He chuckles a bit. You nod, yawning without moving to get up. He yawns too which makes you giggle.

“See what you did, bubba? Making Daddy yawn.” He chuckles again and you giggle. “You ready to get up?” You babble in response, reaching your arms out toward him, making grabby hands. He scoops you up, placing you on his hip.“Oh, what’s that? Does Daddy have a little baby today? Just a tiny boy?”

You blush, burying your face in his neck. “Abab,” you reply. Nat bounces you on his hip. 

“Let’s get you changed then, okay buddy? We don’t want any accidents today.” You whine but otherwise don’t protest, too little and sleepy to feel embarrassed at his comment. “Here, Daddy’s gonna put you down for a minute,” he starts, causing you to whimper. “Shh, only for a minute while I go get some supplies.” You mewl as he sets you gently back on your bed. 

“Oh I know, buddy. Your life is so hard,” he jokes. “Here, I’ll set a timer. You wanna hold Daddy’s phone?” You nod; that sounds fair. He tousles your hair, already messy from sleep, before he steps out into the hallway to get the changing mat and one of your diapers. 

True to his word he comes back only a minute later, just as the timer begins to go off. A smile engulfs your face when you see him and you clap your hands. “Da!” you call. Nat gasps, pretending to be shocked to see you. 

“There’s my little guy!” You giggle, stimming by flapping your fists. He lays out the changing mat, patting it for you to come lay down. You try to stand up but wobble. “Oh silly Daddy, I should’ve known you’re too tiny to walk by yourself today.” You whine, clumsily plopping back down on the bed. He gently picks you up, carefully laying you on the mat. 

He picks up the diaper, and you babble and coo at the colorful animal designs on it. “Oh yeah? You like that?” He points at a blue lion. “What does he say, buddy?” 

“Raaawr!” You growl, trying to sound ferocious. He laughs. 

“That’s right! What a smart little guy.” You smile proudly at your daddy who smiles back. “Are you ready, bud?” You nod shyly, mewling as the cool air hits your lower area. Nat coos sympathetically, making quick work of getting you changed into the colorful diaper. When he finishes he boops your nose. 

“All done. Good boy,” he praises you. You squeal, wiggling your padded bum. He scoops you up, along with the changing mat, awkwardly folding it with his free hand. Leaving it atop your dresser, he turns his full attention back to you. “You hungry, kiddo?” You bob your fist up and down, signing “Yes” in sign language. He plants a kiss on your head. “Why don’t I make you a bottle and we can watch some ‘toons, huh? Does that sound good?” 

Excitedly you wriggle in his arms. “Da! Da!” 

“Okay buddy.” He carries you into the living room, flipping on the TV and setting you gently on the floor.

“Gababa,” you babble, pointing at the colorful characters. Nat nods like he understands what you’ve just said. He crouches down, blocking your view of the television making you whine. He looks into your eyes and you quiet down under his gaze. 

“Daddy’s gonna go to the kitchen and make your bottle. Can you be a big boy and watch by yourself for a few minutes?” You frown at first but ponder his question. “I promise I’ll be back reeeal soon with some nice warm milk.” He smiles at you which makes you smile in turn. “Is that okay?” 

“Mmmm,” you hum, thinking a few seconds more before nodding. 

He takes a few steps away, waiting until your focus is back on the TV before retreating into the kitchen. Clattering can be heard, and a muttered curse or two as he fumbles around in there for a minute. He begins whistling to himself, fixing your bottle and running it under warm water. Once he’s satisfied with the temperature he comes back into the living room where your eyes are glued to the screen. 

“There’s my big brave boy!” he greets you warmly and you babble a reply.

“Baba, baba!” You make grabby hands at your daddy, show momentarily forgotten as you reach for the bottle in his hand. He sets the bottle down on the couch, scooping you up and putting you in his lap. He cradles you in his arms, picking up the bottle and holding the nipple up to your mouth. You hungrily latch onto it, making a noise of contentment as you drink up your milk. 

“Someone’s hungry,” he comments, holding the bottle for you so you can focus on suckling. You drink quickly and he urges you to slow down, not wanting you to get a tummy ache. Soon enough you’re finished and he pats your full belly, taking the bottle and placing it on a small table next to the couch. 

“All done?” You burp in response, making him laugh. You nod and hum contentedly, rolling over so that you two are stomach to stomach. He scoots to lean against one arm of the couch so that you can see the TV without having to change positions. He rubs your back gently, turning his head to watch the show too. “We gonna have a good day, kiddo?” he asks you. You nod, returning to babbling to him about your cartoon.

I wonder what happened when each Smiling Critter first entered the afterlife? Like, how they reacted as they arrived now as toons. How their feelings about the hour of joy and their deaths. Especially for Catnap, since he was the last one to arrive AND the reason why they suffered and were dead to begin with.

thats going ot be explained when dogday appear but here the summary

the first one to go there was hoppy and few days later appear kickin so both hugs each and other and cry a lot

They were not alone, there was Miss Delight, one of the many sisters, and she explained to them about the place where they were. the after life

hoppy all time was ready to punch the cat if one day appear. kickin say the same. they sometimes help dogday to stop him to do things when he is into control of the red smoke. they do this like ghost or when he is sleeping making he realize what he is doing and stopping.

the next to appear was bubba. this one appear afraid but after find with kickin and hoppy. he quickly understood where he was.

at this point hoppy and kicking the angry feeling to catnap was low but still they don't like him

bubba explain everything what happened when he was alive and hoppy and kickin explain about they help dogday stop him when he is controlled by that smoke

time pass and the next to appear is bobby she was crying and blaming a lot to o save dogday at time so is sad maybe catnap going to hurt him and crafty too

After the explanation from both sides bobby was active to stop dogday to do more sad crimes also she really hate a lot catnap so she was ready to punch catnap when he be there, hoppy was agreed

then appear crafty she was sad but end apologize because she blame herself for almost try to kill dogday and for ruining everything. making bobby die because her

still everyone forgive her

the next to appear was picky, everyone looked at her with fear and some distance, she was feeling guilty but only could say that then she undertand if they no want to talk to her again

with the time they start to close to her and talk few to few, they also notice picky no eat meat but more veggies and fruits she feels disgust the meat and bring here bad memories

she explain what happen there before to die and how the relation between dogday and catnap was starting to have troubles making they have always fights but the cat is winning because the red smoke

they only need to wait who will appear catnap or dogday sometimes they used to bet who would get there first

they all wanted dogday keep alive and catnap appear so they can punish him for everything he did to them

then appear dogday and everyone were in shock with the heart broken to see him so broken and crying a lot time apologizing all the time

they were so angry his friend were like this so they were ready to hurt catnap when he dare to appear

kickin starts to think maybe he no appear because was evil so for a time they thinking that was the best for everyone and oh course this will help to everyoe health the trauma few to few specially to dogday who quit to be the leader of smiling critters since he feels he no deserved because he feels he failed

and finally catnap appear.

This is Toon OptimisticKoala, but she would rather be called either Ellie or Optik, whichever one's fine. She's the leader of a group of Toon Smiling Critters that were rejected by Playtime Co. and were never seen or heard of by the public, known as the 'Rejected Toon Critters'.

Optik was drawn and brought to life as part of an idea that the production crew had when they wanted the new episode of the Smiling Critters cartoon to be an homage to the black and white cartoons of the old days, and she was going to be introduced to the viewers as a new Smiling Critter. The who who drew the koala had an idea that her not having a neck or arms would make Optik look a bit more interesting to the audience.

Unfortunately, Playtime Co. had shut down production of the episode before they started creating the other characters, and had the show continue off with what they were originally doing. It seems that they had decided to scrap the idea rather than have their production team waste time designing black and white versions of the Smiling Critters that are just only going to be used for one episode. The koala ended up living/hiding out somewhere in a part of the factory where she made her own home where no one can find or disturb her, which later became a home for the entire group, but the koala does leave her home to visit the Toon Smiling Critters and the other rejected toons who didn't join her group, and obtain some supplies sometimes.

Optik loves to bring laughter and optimism to everyone in order to cheer them up. She can climb through the vents, and even knows the layout, thus she can get to where wherever she needs to be. The koala can also expel a blue gas that is similar to Catnap's illusion gas as whoever breathes it in will temporarily see the world and everything in it as a cartoon, including their own reflection as well.

While toons are somewhat unaffected by the gas, it's unknown what would happen to a non-toon if they were exposed to too much of it over constant, long periods of time. Bubba theorized that the individual would be stuck seeing the world as a cartoon for the rest of their lives, so Optik avoids something like that from happening by preventing others from having constant exposure to it.

In the second drawing, Optik is giving Yadgod a present as a birthday gift for the day he was created. I wonder what she gave him for his birthday?

The Smiling Critters Headcanons - Pt. 2

Hey, y'all! More headcanons! And also the fact I'm making up an AU involving them, specifically the toon ones! And maybe after this batch of headcanons, I will post the separate headcanons. And a certain purple kitty is first on the list.

Sorry, y’all! No ships today, but I do plan some ship headcanons.

The Smiling Critters are the same age.

All eight of the critters are childhood friends. DogDay was the one who brought them all together when they were 10. 

They all met at the same elementary school and continued on to middle school. The group sort of split up when they graduated from 8th Grade and they went to separate high schools (I plan to draw how they look as kids).

The Smiling Critters had a smaller version of their pendents when they were young and it was all done as a symbol of their friendship, as well as a representation of themselves. They got the bigger ones when they got older.

When the Smiling Critters are in their older teen/young adult (18-19 year old) age, they left their old homes and went into a mysterious land. The reasons why is still being made, but I plan to write why they left when I do separate headcanons for the critters. Some of them are sad/angsty. And as I explain their backstories in their separate headcanons, I might explain the land too.

The critters pretty much had a reunion the moment they stepped foot onto this mysterious land.

This land had eight houses, but no one was living in them. The Critters pretty much went door to door and into the houses to see which one fits them better. And at that point, the Critters had houses of their own and the land became their own little secret neighborhood in the middle of nowhere.

The Critters lived in the land for two years and some of them write or call to their family and friends back at their old homes.

This is where the first episode of the Smiling Critters cartoon began to slowly take place.

The Smiling Critters are unaware they are cartoon characters and are watched by millions of eyes. 

Since they are cartoon characters, they often follow cartoon logic. Like being able to survive Bubba’s explosive chemical experiments and Hoppy jumping from star to star to get to the moon. Also, the fact that DogDay and CatNap can sit on the sun and moon.

The land where the Smiling Critters live in is a place where they were allowed to be themselves and not feel pressured or hurt by anyone else. They were allowed to have fun and pretty much be goobers. They were all happier there and pretty much, got to “S-M-I-L-E everyday!”

Unknown to the Critters, the land has given all eight of the critters some strange abilities. Being able to breathe their respective scent is one. CatNap is one of the rare ones as he breathes two scents.

The Smiling Critters are almost the same height, but they are around the same size (maybe slightly taller) as some of the rubberhose toons like Bendy, who I headcanon is around the same size as a certain famous toon mouse.

The Main 8 critters are the only Smiling Critters known in their little “town.” At least, that’s what they think (possible Smiling Critter OC?).

I’m planning on a FoodArt (Crafty/Picky) fanfic where they’re all adults, Crafty is a digital artist and Picky works at a bakery. It’s gonna have more wholesome moments than Reborn AU haha—

There’s also a highschool AU for StarStudent (Kickin/Bubba). I think there’s already a lot of HS Aus of the smiling critters but I want highschool drama between a chicken and an elephant

I’m still thinking of what to do for CuddleJump (Bobby/Hoppy) but other than that I have a toon of ideas, hehe pun intended

Though I’ll be working on the Reborn AU for the meantime until I work on other stuff but yeah! 👍

"Though preferring to be a loner, Prickly Parker is a valuable friend to have around. Parker will gladly show their friends that there is so much fun to be had in the peaceful silence of nature, so long as they aren't spooked." Parker is actually Genderfluid, but in the cartoons and merchandise they use They/Them pronouns for simplicity sake and to not confuse costumers. They are based on a Hedgehog. They are scared VERY easily, often rolling up into a spiky ball when spooked having to be , the critters will have to be extra careful to make sure they don't scare their dear friend. Additionally Parker likes Catnap the most due to him being the calmest critter of them all. They are vegetarian and the majority of what they eat is grown in their garden, but they don't mind sharing with their friends. But they also have quite the sweet tooth and will never turn down a snack. Parker likes they say that they are "Intertwined with the balance of nature " and will preach about the importance of having a good connect with the environment around them to anyone who cares to lend an ear. They can actually hear and communicate with bugs! They like to say that it's because of their close connection to the natural world, but some of Critters(especially Bubba) believe Parker is just pulling their leg. Even if some don't believe in their bug speaking skills, they will come to Park to handle any bug related issue.
