kinda feel like I haven't been enjoying tennis as much lately :/

#all my faves are kinda flopping #so many players are just like. the worst. and I know more are like that and just quieter about it #and idk. the quality of matches has just been fine #the matteo/kei match in montreal was so good and fun to watch and I was like damn. why don't other matches feel like this #and I'm still like. fully invested in it #like I'm checking scores all the time #but I'm missing my spark that I had just a few months ago #idk. I'm feeling bleh #I wish I was watching great matches all day but the matches have felt so flat #maybe it'll be better when all the top seeds come in #because canada was so weird #this is kinda the first normal big tournament since olympics #I'll stop rambling now

composing music for my zelda dnd campaign like how a normal person does

#song of sages #I’ve already written themes for each of my five PCs #plus the first movement or ‘the lost hero’s theme’ which will be a full length composition following link’s story from start to finish #I’ve got bits of the rest of it but those are top secret for spoiler reasons #movement one is ‘link the legendary hero’ and it’s for piano and flute #the sage songs are all gonna have a second part the players will have to learn later #and I WANT to combine them all into one ensemble composition but idk how I’m gonna do that yet #they’re all in the same key but I made them all very different otherwise so they’d feel distinct #maybe I’ll take motifs from each and put them throughout the ensemble piece? idk #meanwhile have I written my plan for session 0 tomorrow? have I made the Map? no lol

was thinking about this in my lesson this morning, how it’s really common for woodwind players to have multiple instruments. like i have two oboes in addition to my english horn but not even including other instruments like EH or d’amore, most oboists i know (especially professionals) will have two or three or more. i know flute and clarinets who’re the same way but i have no idea if it’s A Thing for string or brass players too

#sasha speaks #i know i have string player mutuals so i'm curious do you/your sectionmates only have one instrument?#like your primary instrument. i don't mean like a violist also having a violin i mean like a violinist having like two violins to choose #depending on the situation #like i Get It for something like clarinet cause both A and Bb parts are common so it's just useful to have both an A and a Bb insturment #(and in the case of cl i think A and Bb are close enough to be considered 'the same' for this post and not separate #in the same way that i'm considering oboe separate from EH and d'amore)#and obv if someone has an EH there a 99.9% chance they also have and play an oboe #but like. our principal flute in orchestra has at least two flutes not including picc #i have seen our new grad oboist with. at least three different oboes. modern* ones #(i've also seen him with at least one classical oboe and one of his 'modern' ones is from like. 1899 and has a pre-conservatoire key system)#(which is bonkers. it feels like holding a toy.)#plus i know he's got an EH somewhere cause i've seen reeds for it in his case #anyway. i have two oboes and an EH. i usually only play one of them unless it has a technical problem #so my second is more of a backup #but i definitely know people with different instruments they play in different halls/weather/for a different sound/etc #or an instrument with like a plastic lining in the top joint for outdoor playing or something #tldr it's really common for woodwind players in my experience to have multiple instruments and i wonder how common that is #for other sections. sound off in the notes ig #sorry i don't have polls yet so i have to get responses from you guys the old fashioned way still.#oboeposting

What do the islanders fix moving forward? I love this team but they are not a play off team ready to win the World Cup?

i am lowkey the worst person to ask this question to (i am not a skills/stats girlie lol), but i can tell you that it’s a lot of little things. their special teams highkey suck and i think because of that they’ve lost a lot of confidence in their all around play. i’ve also seen a lot of flubbed passes and turnovers that should not be happening.

#also key players (mat im sorry) not showing up on the board as much as i think we all expected/hoped for #this is such an unhelpful thing to say but they need to find their footing and what works for them as a team #especially that top line #new york islanders #hockey #himbo answers
