“I’m scared to pirate stuff - ” do it scared!*
*with Firefox and Adblock and a VPN and -
If you want a nonspecific, nonexhaustive “where do I even start” guide…
Sail the cyber seas at your own risk!
Streaming - “I want to watch xyz”
This is normally what most people want when they talk about pirating.
Use Firefox with uBlock Origin and additional privacy add-ons such as PrivacyBadger, TrackMeNot, etc.
Free VPNs are out there. Get one - but vet it’s efficacy. My go-tos are Proton VPN, or Windscribe if you plan to do a bit of torrenting.
What is torrenting? How does it work? Here’s a guide!
Back to streaming -
Make sure that a) you’ve got your Mozilla browser with all its adblocking private glory, and b) you’ve got a VPN turned on to hide what you’re doing in that browser from your ISP (internet service provider).
Now you need to actually find a site to stream from. This is the tricky part, because openly sharing these sites will get them taken down if they’re talked about widely enough. (Remember how tiktok idiots got zlibrary taken down?)
You’re going to have to talk to people on forums. You’re going to have to experiment with sites you find yourself. Search for ‘x online free’ and look at the links that come up - is the preview text mangled or clickbaitey? Are there Reddit threads about that website confirming or denying its content? A good rule of thumb is to ignore the top result or two - copycats of good streaming sites will often buy out the top result spot. Eventually, you’ll develop a good gut feeling and understanding of what a good site ‘looks like’ from the results page alone.
However, there are some places that compile good sites that haven’t been nuked by lawyers (yet) - check out r/FMHY! The masterposts are actively curated and updated when a site goes down or is found to have malicious downloads.
Remember - loose lips sink ships. No tweeting (xeeting?) or Facebook statuses about your new favorite piracy website and where you found it. Even posting to tumblr (kind of like this…) isn’t a great idea if you want those websites to stay under the radar and stay accessible. Nobody talks, everybody walks (away with their share of pirate booty)
If you aren’t downloading media, pick pretty much any site and watch away! Adblock and Firefox will keep away pop-ups and other annoying ads, and your VPN means your ISP can’t tell that you’re visiting an unofficial streaming service.
Note: In my experience, I’ve never heard of visiting a site and watching stuff on it infecting or otherwise compromising your computer. That tends to come from misclicks on invisible or overwhelming pop-up ads that redirect you to an automatic download or similarly malicious bullshit. If you’re using Firefox and uBlock, you shouldn’t be in any danger of an accidental redirect.
Downloads - “I want to keep xyz”
This is the realm of pirate archiving - you’re keeping files physically on your hard drive, an external hard drive, or burning a disk.
Adblock + Firefox browser? Check. VPN on? Check.
Go to your streaming site of choice - most if not all have download options. You can download those files or, manually, right click and save the video file from the webpage as an mp4. I honestly don’t know if there’s a difference in quality or more danger in clicking the download buttons, but regardless -
Run that puppy through VirusTotal.com! It’s a reliable browser based virus checker - if the file is too large, use a local virus checking program (your native Windows Defender on Windows computers or, I prefer, Malwarebytes)
Generally mp4 and mp3 files are clean - choose where to save them for the long term, and bam! Free forever media.
Optionally, I also upload mp4 files to a named Google document - this way I can easily share them or make them findable through a ‘xyz Google doc’ search for others :]
Torrents - “I want to keep and share xyz”
I’m not going to go into this subject in depth because, honestly, it’s not something I do regularly.
See the previously linked Torrenting guide for information on how the process works, and check out r/FMHY for recommendations and warnings about different torrenting clients (I’ve personally only used qBittorrent - I’ve heard to stay away from the Pirate Bay and Bittorrent.)
As with streaming, turn on that VPN baby! You’re going to need one that supports peer-to-peer (p2p) connections, so Proton’s free version is a no-go. Windscribe is what I’ve used for torrenting (and it’s a good free VPN on its own - I’m just partial to Proton). You get 10GB every month on Windscribe’s free version, which is more than enough for a few movies/a season or two of your favorite show.
(Bigger torrents like video games are easily 30+ GB, so be prepared to either pay for a no-limit premium account or spend a few months downloading your files in chunks.)
VPN on? Double check.
Boot up your torrenting client - I use a slightly out of date version of qBittorent, but there are other options. The Reddit thread and previously linked torrenting guide have a few dos and donts of selecting a client, so be thorough before you download your client of choice.
This is getting into the logistics of torrenting a bit, so forgive me if this is vague or incorrect, but now you need a torrent seed. These will be .tor files found through pirating websites or archives - these are rarely malicious, but it’s good to run any piracy related download through something like VirusTotal.com or scan it with a local program like Malwarebytes.
You open your seed file in your client and wait. A ‘healthy’ seed tends to have lots of seeders and few leeches, but sometimes you’re stuck with an obscure seed you just have to wait for.
Your torrented files have fully downloaded! Now what? a) keep your client open and seed those files for others as long as you want to - sharing is caring! and b) run those files through a security program like Malwarebytes (not sponsored it’s just the only program I’m familiar with).
Be wary of what gets flagged - sometimes the files seem important, but are just trojans, and likewise sometimes they seem malicious, but are just cracked software getting flagged by your system. It’s good to check and see if others have had a problem with this particular torrent before - Reddit threads from 2008 are your long dead friends.
And that’s about it. Feel free to correct me if anything I’ve recommended is malicious or outright wrong. I’ve been doing this for years and haven’t had an active problem to my knowledge, so if there is something fishy with how I do things, I am a statistical outlier and should not be counted.
I wish you smooth sailing and strong winds in your ventures me hearties!
Obligatory ‘don’t pirate small author’s or artist’s works what the fuck dude’ statement.
#ra speaks#piracy#pirating#pirate to make hondo ohnaka proud#I’ve seen so many people on my streaming piracy post bemoaning that they don’t know how like !!!!#congrats you get to learn without the middle school trial and error phase we zillenials had (RIP family computer 2004-2009)#I genuinely think piracy has gotten easier/safer than it used to be. that or I’ve gotten smarter. which is also likely.

Planning to sell physical or digital products online and want to create a website for it in the FASTEST way?
If you're starting your e-commerce journey and feeling overwhelmed by all the platform options—don't worry, you're not alone. Two names dominate the conversation: Shopify and WordPress (with WooCommerce).
But which one is truly better for newbies, beginners, and dropshippers looking to launch fast and sell efficiently?
Let’s break it down and get straight to the point—especially if you're here to build a business, not fiddle with tech headaches.
Shopify: Built for E-Commerce from the Ground Up
Shopify is a dedicated e-commerce platform. That means everything from product setup to payments, themes, and shipping is purpose-built for one thing: selling online.
Why Shopify is Great for Beginners
Zero Coding Required: Just drag, drop, and start selling. Perfect for people who want results, not tutorials.
3-Day Free Trial: You can start today and be up and running in hours.

WordPress (WooCommerce): Powerful, But Not Beginner-Friendly
WordPress is an amazing platform... if you're building a blog or you’re already experienced with web development. But for e-commerce newbies, it can feel like you're building a house from scratch.
Why WordPress Might Be a Struggle for Beginners
Complex Setup: You'll need to buy hosting, install WordPress, then install WooCommerce, then configure it all manually.
Plugin Overload: Want a feature? You’ll likely need to install a plugin. And another. And another. Then update them constantly.
Security Risks: If you don’t stay on top of updates and patches, your site could be vulnerable.
Slow Support: There’s no dedicated support team—just forums or your hosting provider.
Not Built for E-commerce First: WordPress is a blogging tool at heart.
WooCommerce makes it work for selling, but it’s not seamless.
So Which One Should You Choose?
If you're:
A beginner with no coding experience,
A dropshipper who wants fast supplier integration,
Or just someone who wants to get your first product online this week, not next month...
Go with Shopify.
It’s clean, easy to use, beginner-friendly, and built to sell. You won’t waste time on tech issues—you’ll spend time building a brand.
Pro Tip: You can start with a 3-day free trial and see how easy it is. No risk, no commitment.
Sign up for a Shopify FREE TRIAL Here - https://shopify.pxf.io/QjzmOa
Manual Setup
Shopify was made for people just like you—dreamers and doers ready to launch something real.
Don’t get stuck in tech setup and plugin chaos.

So, buckle up. Let’s dive into the best ideas for company growth, disrupt the status quo, and give your entrepreneurial vision the edge it deserves in 2025 and beyond.
1. Hyper-Niche E-commerce Brands
In 2025, personalization is no longer optional; it's the new standard. Consumers are tired of one-size-fits-all solutions, and that’s where hyper-niche e-commerce brands thrive. Instead of targeting everyone, smart entrepreneurs are building businesses that serve a very specific audience with laser-focused products and messaging.
Imagine launching a brand that caters solely to remote-working professionals who need ergonomic tools, or creating an online store that sells only sustainable pet care products for eco-conscious pet owners. These aren’t just online shops, they're purpose-driven platforms built around deeply understood customer needs.
What makes hyper-niche businesses so powerful is their ability to build strong brand loyalty and community. When customers feel like your brand “gets” them, conversion rates rise, repeat purchases grow, and word-of-mouth spreads naturally. It’s also easier to compete in these tight verticals because you’re not battling for attention in oversaturated, generic markets.
To find the right niche, use research tools like Google Trends and Exploding Topics, or start by identifying underserved customer pain points in forums, Reddit communities, or your own experiences.
If you want to turn a hyper-specific idea into a profitable online business, our comprehensive e-commerce startup guide for India will walk you through the strategy, setup, and scale-up steps. And if you’re serious about launching with a growth mindset, don’t miss your subscription to Entrepreneurial Era Magazine - your go-to resource for startup ideas, market insights, and real founder stories.
In a crowded digital economy, success belongs to the brands that dare to go narrow, deep, and personal.
2. Subscription-Based Expertise
In the digital-first world of 2025, expertise is a product and recurring revenue is the goal. Entrepreneurs and consultants are shifting from one-off projects to scalable subscription models that deliver consistent value to a loyal audience.
Whether you're a marketing strategist, coding expert, financial planner, or wellness coach, your knowledge can be packaged into a paid membership, digital community, or learning platform. Think beyond basic online courses. Today’s consumers crave access to ongoing insights, updates, templates, Q&A sessions, and community-driven problem-solving. It’s not just education, it's evolution on-demand.
Platforms like Teachable, Patreon, and Circle.so make it easy to launch your own paid knowledge hub, where members subscribe for fresh content, tools, and expert guidance.
Why is this model booming?
It creates predictable monthly revenue
Builds a tight-knit community around your brand
Positions you as a go-to authority in your niche
Increases customer lifetime value (CLTV)
For example, creators who write on LinkedIn or speak at events are now turning their authority into subscription-based businesses, offering exclusive content, resources, and coaching inside gated communities. This model works especially well for Indian professionals who want to scale beyond local consulting and reach a global audience.
Looking to turn your knowledge into a business? Check out our in-depth article on how to start a subscription-based business in India. And for a steady stream of startup case studies, monetization tips, and strategy breakdowns, subscribe to Entrepreneurial Era Magazine.
3. AI-Powered Services for SMEs
Artificial Intelligence isn’t just for tech giants anymore. In 2025, small and mid-sized businesses (SMEs) across India are rapidly adopting AI to boost efficiency, cut costs, and scale operations. This opens up a massive opportunity for entrepreneurs to build service-based businesses powered by accessible AI tools.
If you’re tech-savvy or have a product mindset, you can create:
AI-based customer support solutions using tools like Tidio or Freshdesk with Freddy AI
AI-driven ad targeting and copywriting through platforms like Jasper or AdCreative.ai
Business analytics dashboards that simplify decision-making for non-tech founders using tools like Looker Studio or Power BI
The key? Focus on delivering AI-powered services that are practical, affordable, and ROI-driven for SMEs who can’t afford enterprise software but still want smart automation.
Explore our feature on AI Startup Ideas in India for 2025 Or get your hands on real examples and implementation guides in the latest issue of Entrepreneurial Era Magazine
Why it works:
SMEs lack in-house AI teams but crave automation
AI tools are now low-code or no-code—easy to deploy
It positions your brand as future-ready and value-driven
It opens doors to retainer-based service contracts
This model is perfect for agencies, freelancers, and productized service startups that want to offer high-value outputs without large teams. In fact, many bootstrapped founders are now building niche AI consulting businesses targeting verticals like retail, real estate, or education.
If you want to serve a market that's actively growing and underserved, AI-for-SMEs is a goldmine.
4. Creator-Centric Product Companies
In 2025, creators aren’t just promoting products, they're co-building them. Enter the rise of creator-centric product companies, where entrepreneurs collaborate directly with influencers to design, develop, and launch products that feel personal, authentic, and instantly trustworthy.
Why does this work? Because creators already have what many startups spend years building: a loyal, engaged audience that trusts their recommendations. When you partner with a YouTuber, podcaster, or Instagram creator who deeply understands their community, you’re not just buying attention, you're buying influence, feedback loops, and built-in demand.
Take, for instance, fitness influencers launching custom workout gear or beauty creators co-developing skincare lines tailored to their followers’ routines. These ventures aren’t speculative; they're demand-driven, backed by real conversations and data from engaged communities.
The key is to move beyond simple brand deals and into true co-creation. Offer creators equity, creative control, or a share of the revenue. This builds long-term alignment and turns the influencer into a founding partner who’s deeply invested in the brand’s success.
Platforms like Shopify Collabs and Pietra make it easier than ever to connect with creators and build DTC brands together. Meanwhile, our in-depth resource on how to launch a profitable product in partnership with creators offers a blueprint for turning collaboration into traction.
And if you're looking to stay ahead with cutting-edge strategies and real case studies from startups that scale fast, don’t forget to subscribe to Entrepreneurial Era Magazine. We feature India’s most innovative entrepreneurs and the growth playbooks behind their success.
In a creator economy, the smartest founders aren’t just selling to audiences they’re building with them.
5. Virtual Franchising: Scale Without Real Estate
The future of franchising isn’t tied to storefronts, it's in the cloud. Virtual franchising is emerging as one of the most scalable, low-overhead business models for 2025, allowing founders to replicate service-based businesses digitally across geographies without the constraints of physical locations.
Picture this: You’ve built a successful online coaching program, digital marketing service, or even a specialized SaaS platform. Instead of expanding by setting up regional offices or training individual consultants, you franchise your business model virtually complete with your systems, brand, training resources, and tech stack. Each virtual franchisee runs operations remotely, often from home, following your proven blueprint.
What makes this model so powerful?
Low startup costs for franchisees (no rent, no inventory)
High scalability for the founder with standardized processes
Access to a wider talent pool, not restricted by geography
Recurring revenue through licensing and support fees
Industries ripe for virtual franchising include online tutoring, remote fitness training, digital marketing agencies, mental wellness programs, and even AI-based productivity services.
Global platforms like FranNet and India-focused hubs such as Franchise India are already spotlighting digital franchise models, while subscription tools like Thinkific and Kajabi enable seamless course and content replication across locations.
Want a deeper look at how entrepreneurs in India are scaling through virtual franchising? Read our feature on "Digital-First Franchises Disrupting Traditional Business Models" in Entrepreneurial Era Magazine, where we break down the strategies behind these modern growth machines.
If you’re aiming to grow without the headache of overhead, virtual franchising might just be your next big move, one that scales with systems, not real estate.
6. Green Business Models: Profit with a Purpose
In 2025, green isn’t just a trend, it's a business advantage. Consumers, regulators, and investors are all placing sustainability at the heart of their decision-making, and forward-thinking entrepreneurs are turning environmental responsibility into scalable, profitable models.
From zero-waste packaging startups to carbon tracking SaaS platforms, green business ideas are not only socially impactful but financially strategic. The Indian market, especially, is witnessing a sharp rise in eco-conscious consumer behavior opening massive opportunities for purpose-driven innovation.
Some breakout models to explore include:
Biodegradable packaging businesses that help D2C brands stay compliant with sustainability laws.
Green logistics platforms that optimize delivery routes to reduce emissions ideal for last-mile delivery services.
Carbon footprint tracking tools for SMEs trying to meet ESG goals or improve CSR reporting.
Eco-friendly product lines think plant-based alternatives, recycled material fashion, or refillable personal care items.
According to a report by NielsenIQ, over 73% of Gen Z consumers globally prefer to buy from sustainable brands signaling a permanent shift in demand. In India, startups like Bare Necessities, Loopworm, and Phool.co have already carved impressive niches by solving real environmental challenges.
And here’s the edge: launching a green business doesn’t always mean inventing something new, it often means rethinking the value chain of an existing idea with sustainability in mind.
Want to learn how green founders are scaling fast and raising impact capital? Dive into our in-depth feature: “10 Indian Startups Making Sustainability Profitable” inside Entrepreneurial Era Magazine.
The future belongs to entrepreneurs who innovate for the planet. Will your brand be one of them?
7. No-Code Platforms for Business: Build Faster, Launch Smarter
Gone are the days when launching a tech product meant hiring a full-stack development team or knowing how to code. Thanks to the no-code revolution, today's entrepreneurs can build powerful web apps, automations, and internal tools without writing a single line of code.
Platforms like Bubble, Glide, and Webflow empower founders to test, validate, and scale digital products at a fraction of the time and cost.
Whether you're a solopreneur validating a SaaS idea or a small business owner digitizing operations, no-code platforms offer agility and autonomy. Some profitable no-code business models include:
Client portals or custom dashboards for niche industries like coaching, HR, or logistics
Marketplace websites or subscription communities powered by tools like Softr or Outseta
Internal workflow automation tools that replace spreadsheets and manual processes
MVPs for SaaS startups, saving tens of thousands in early-stage development
Real-world example: NocodeAPI, an Indian startup built entirely without code, now serves 10,000+ users globally and generates recurring revenue proving that execution beats engineering when speed is key.
And here’s the kicker: no-code isn’t just for side projects anymore. Venture-backed startups are now using no-code tools to build and scale their core platforms.
Want to stay ahead of the curve in tech-enabled entrepreneurship? Explore Entrepreneurial Era Magazine’s guide to "No-Code Startups That Made It Big" and get exclusive interviews with founders who built 6-figure platforms without hiring a dev team.
In 2025, the real startup advantage isn’t knowing code, it's knowing what to build.
8. Micro SaaS for Micro Problems: Big Profits from Small Pain Points
In the startup world of 2025, lean is powerful. And that’s exactly why Micro SaaS small-scale, narrowly focused software solutions are booming. These are not sprawling platforms trying to be everything for everyone. Instead, they solve one painful problem for one specific audience and they do it exceptionally well.
Think tools like:
Automated Instagram schedulers built just for fitness coaches
Freelancer income trackers designed for solopreneurs juggling multiple clients
Onboarding portals for small HR consultancies
Niche CRM tools tailored for real estate agents, yoga instructors, or consultants
Micro SaaS = low overhead, high margins, and built-in product-market fit.
These platforms often require little more than a no-code tool or a single developer and can generate predictable monthly recurring revenue (MRR). Their strength lies in hyper-targeted utility users who don't just like the tool, they rely on it.
Want inspiration from Micro SaaS founders who scaled to 5-figures MRR? Check out Entrepreneurial Era Magazine's deep dive on "Indie SaaS Founders Crushing It in India" and learn how tiny tools are winning big.
And the best part? Micro SaaS scales without stress and no need for huge teams, venture capital, or complex infrastructure. It’s the perfect model for solo founders, remote builders, or consulting firms looking to diversify with digital products.
In 2025, micro problems = macro profits. The question is: what problem can you solve today?

Avoiding the Pitfalls: 7 Common Mistakes That Undermine Corporate eLearning Success
Corporate eLearning is no longer a nice-to-have — it’s essential. From onboarding and compliance to ongoing skills development, digital learning offers scalable, cost-efficient solutions that let employees learn when and how it works best for them. But here's the challenge: launching an eLearning initiative isn’t as simple as uploading a few modules and hitting "go." Many companies jump in enthusiastically, only to discover that engagement is low, learning outcomes fall short, and the ROI isn’t what they hoped for.
If you're preparing to implement or overhaul a corporate eLearning strategy, steer clear of these seven common mistakes — and learn how to build a program that truly makes an impact.
1. Prioritizing Business Goals Over Learner Needs
Your executive team wants employees to “get up to speed on digital transformation.” Great. But if you jump straight into content creation without understanding learners' day-to-day challenges, you’re likely to miss the mark.
Why it backfires:
Content feels abstract or irrelevant, leading to disengagement
Completion rates drop
No meaningful behavior change happens on the job
What to do instead:
Conduct surveys or interviews to uncover learner needs, challenges, and preferences
Create learner personas to inform tone and content
Use real-world scenarios and tasks learners can immediately relate to and apply
2. Cramming in Too Much Information
Sitting through a two-hour training video between meetings and emails? That’s what many employees face when courses are too dense or time-consuming.
Why it backfires:
Leads to cognitive overload
Learners skim or skip the content
Retention and practical use suffer
What to do instead:
Break content into short, focused microlearning modules (5–10 minutes max)
Reinforce with spaced learning to boost retention
Provide quick-reference tools like job aids or checklists for on-the-job support
3. Overlooking the Link to Business Results
Learning without a clear business purpose might feel productive — but if it doesn’t tie back to real outcomes like increased sales, faster onboarding, or reduced safety issues, it's hard to prove value.
Why it backfires:
Stakeholder buy-in fades
Success becomes difficult to measure
Learners struggle to see relevance
What to do instead:
Define desired behaviors or performance changes from the start
Collaborate with department heads to align training with actual business needs
Set measurable KPIs — think performance shifts, feedback scores, or engagement rates
4. Choosing the Wrong Platform
You can have top-tier content, but if the learning platform is clunky or confusing, your audience will disengage.
Why it backfires:
Poor UX frustrates users
Mobile learners — especially on-the-go teams — are excluded
Low engagement results in wasted resources
What to do instead:
Assess platforms based on user experience, mobile compatibility, and ease of navigation
Test with a pilot group before rolling out across the company
Choose tools that integrate with existing platforms like Slack, Teams, or your CRM
5. Creating Passive Learning Experiences
Endless slide decks, long videos, and multiple-choice quizzes don’t inspire engagement — or change behavior.
Why it backfires:
Learners forget most of the material within a day
No room for critical thinking or real-world practice
Training feels like a chore
What to do instead:
Use interactive elements like simulations, scenarios, and gamified activities
Foster collaboration through discussion forums or team-based learning
Include practical case studies and decision-based tasks
6. Neglecting Culture and Change Management
You can’t force a learning mindset. If company culture doesn’t value or prioritize learning, even the best-designed program will fall flat.
Why it backfires:
Training is seen as disruptive, not helpful
Managers don’t support learning efforts
Employees treat eLearning as a checkbox exercise
What to do instead:
Celebrate learning wins across the organization
Train managers to encourage and support team development
Roll out with strong internal communication around the “why” behind the learning
7. Treating Learning as a One-Time Event
Learning isn’t “one and done.” As your business evolves, so should your learning content.
Why it backfires:
Learners lose trust in outdated information
You miss chances to optimize or expand
Resources go into maintaining irrelevant training
What to do instead:
Review and refresh content quarterly or biannually
Use data and feedback to identify what works (and what doesn’t)
Build ongoing learning journeys with skill-building paths and career development options
Final Thoughts: Build Learning That Works for People, Not Just Processes
Rolling out a successful eLearning program takes more than tech and content. It demands empathy for your learners, alignment with your business goals, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Done right, corporate eLearning empowers employees to grow, adapt, and lead — driving results that matter. Avoid these seven missteps, and you’ll be well on your way to creating a learning culture that sticks.

Cultural Exchange Through Tourism Japanese and Australia
Cultural Exchange Through Tourism Japanese and Australia - The role of Japanese tourism in Australian economic relations with Japan has been examined in detail. While the post-war development of Japanese tourism to Australia has been linked with the continued strengthening of bilateral trade and investment relations over the last three decades, the protectionist or temporizing stance of Australian policymakers towards Japanese participation in the Australian tourism market has not changed much. This paper argues the case for closer cooperation to address the challenges and opportunities that face both governments and industries in maximizing the value of the new leisure paradigm of cultural exchange through tourism by looking at the actual and potential impact of cultural tours, student tours by high school and university students, and working holidaymakers.

As global leisure provides more new leisure, such as lengthy or repeat visits to a growing range of countries, special or revisit tours, or other experiences abroad, tourism becomes better understood as a form of cultural exchange. Australian participation in, and cooperation with regional and global tourism institutions and forums emphasizes the linkages associated with conservation, interpretation, and education aimed at enhancing sustainability and greater innovation in satisfying sophisticated new leisure demands and interests. The potential for better performance and profitability by Australian exporters is also greatly improved on the basis of a better understanding of the context, quality, and value of the Australian products and services in the hands of a more capable workforce, welcoming visitors from both traditional and new sources of importance.
Japanese Influence on Australian Culture
In the past 10 years, as a result of the great influx of Japanese tourists in Australia, Japanese culture has almost become a part of Australian life. Words like sayonara and arigato have almost become part of the Australian language. In restaurants and take-away shops, food items like tempura, sukiyaki, and tonkatsu have become explicit delicacies for Australians. It has been noticed that these Japanese recipes have been absorbed by the Australian way of cooking, sometimes even blending Japanese ideas in combination with Australian native foods, which is a different yet interesting combination. Japanese art and crafts have been greatly appreciated and seen in art galleries, craft shops, and sometimes on TV. As there are a few potters in Australia who have studied in Japan and brought back the potter's wheel, they are making authentic Japanese matching ceramic wares such as plates, bowls, mugs, and Japanese sake sets that include a sake bottle and matching cups, and also sometimes the sake warmer.
Japanese entertainment, especially pop stars, seems to have had the most considerable impact on the spending of young females. Plans to visit Japan and immerse themselves in the cultural environment are the final reckoning of their revenue. The number of movies and TV series produced in Japan has become increasingly popular in all Australian states. Even Japanese architecture has become a part of city life, with restaurants, hotels, and residential buildings using Japanese art and customs, such as kimono-clad waitresses and the use of tatami. Many Australian cities now provide Japanese culture societies, where people can learn the Japanese language and experience tea ceremonies, flower arrangements, origami, and the playing of traditional string instruments. On top of all of this, Japanese-owned stakes in Australia are increasing.
Australian Influence on Japanese Tourists
Prior Knowledge of Australia Disproportionate to the actual size of the country, knowledge of Australia on the part of the Japanese is quite high. Of primary items, the Australian language ranks number one, while koalas and kangaroos are often mentioned. This, too, is not unrelated to the Japanese' previous travel experience in Australia. Concretely, of the Japanese who responded "have experienced study abroad" and "have experienced resort/border crossing," a significant percentage indicated they had a desire to visit Australia. Those who were interested in later-stage destinations while on a trip around the world or just in Sydney alone had enough interest to rank it number one. However, when comparing the spontaneous place names that came to mind when respondents were asked where they would like to go, Sydney was surprisingly limited in response. Even when assessing the point regarding responses for what travel experience, the said city was considered to be an image attached to study or lifestyle, giving the impression that this drives these feelings. There is a high rate of Australian returnees among the Japanese who have visited Australia before. Currently, it is difficult to determine how spontaneous the memory is or if it is affected by questions such people are frequently asked, like "Did you live in Sydney?" or "Did you see animals in the wild?" However, it appears to be a fact that the Sydney visitors from Japan account for experiences and memories about school life, unbound by eroticism.
Judged Australia and Experience Prior to Visit The specific knowledge and image of Australia are closely related to the Japanese who have traveled to that country. Australians who have made contact with Japanese tourists may undergo discrimination based on nationality, but the information they present reflects indirect judgment. Also, so-called Australia tours have expanded among Japanese travelers. Such tours often include visits to a part of Sydney's major tourist area as well as visits to various shops. However, some tourists have been disappointed by Australian surf culture or have been suspected of a lack of organization in the tour system. As free weekend tourists or resort tourists, some were disappointed if no organized time was in place or if the trip was difficult due to little time in the resort area. Even when the tourist does not bear the financial burden of the tour, the tourists and their companions should worry about the certainty of the tour and the pool of people that participated, although this may be the fallback.

Unreal Engine: Constraining the collectables movement
I said in my last post that having the collectables roll around isn't good design, in my opinion, my because it makes the collection more of a chore, which is not what I want.
So I looked into the Collectable actor to try and find a way to remove it, and I first tried to use the Event Hit node to change the velocity of the Projectile Movement:
This didn't work though because the roll comes from the physics logic, not the ProjectileMovement. This was also very resource intensive because all the orbs were constantly generating hit events:
So I needed to find a solution to that to keep using the Event Hit node.
After looking in the collectable some more, I found the Constraints settings. This allowed me to restrict movement along the axes. It had a mode setting, but none of them just kept the Z axis on- not what I wanted - so I just kept it to default and applied my own:
This would allow me to lock my sphere to the Z axis- however I needed to apply this setting during runtime and not at the start of the game. I naturally started looking for a node and the Set Constraint Mode node:
This was close to what I wanted, but like I said earlier, none of these modes kept just the Z axis open.
I couldn't find any other nodes, so I went to the Unreal Engine forums once again to see if anyone had a similar problem, and found this post:
How does "Set Constraint Mode" work? - Programming & Scripting / Blueprint - Epic Developer Community Forums
This told me that the node wasn't 100% working with blueprint: I wasn't able to change what "Custom Plane" actually meant. One reply said that a PhysicsConstraintComponent could be used instead, but I thought that adding another component would be pretty expensive for the memory, and I felt like I had a solution right here, so I thought on it a bit longer.
Then, a solution hit me. I could use the Set Constraint Node to 'None' on BeginPlay, then by setting it to 'Default' in runtime it would then take on the properties I assigned it in the actor- Exactly what I wanted.
I also found out I could get away with the Event Hit node by adding a Do Once after it- this stopped unnecessary code from being run and gave me back the frames I lost:
This is the result:
youtube
(Note: due to my recording software running, the FPS is 2-3 frames lower than usual.)
I am really happy with how this turned out visually. The bounce makes them so satisfying, and combined with the random launch, I think I'm starting to capture that "alive" feel.
This video does showcase a kind of bug, or unintended interaction at least. If I'm right on top of the orbs when they spawn, they all just go into me straight away and you don't get to see the awesome animation I just worked on. I don't think this is visually appealing, so it's something I need to work on. And again, there is something that feels "off" about only *some* of the orbs still.
Aside from that, I think I'm almost ready to add some playtesting mechanics and begin my first wave of playtesting.

Communications Service Providers(CSPs) Adopts AI/ML models

Communications Service Providers (CSPs) CSPs telecom AI and machine learning (ML) have been progressively incorporated into networks and commercial operations by the telecom sector. To enhance spectrum efficiency, optimise network performance, and improve energy efficiency, for instance, the Open RAN sector has been working on a number of use cases. In a similar vein, chatbots have been developed by telecom business operations to enhance customer engagement, perform sentiment analysis, and forecast churn.
Utilising AI in the Network AI is already being utilised today to help networks become more automated and efficient. The industry is set to transition from AI-assisted systems, in which AI is utilised solely in a supporting role, to AI-native systems, in which AI/ML models are used throughout the system’s core development and operation.
AI/ML will penetrate every layer of the network stack, offering communications service providers (CSPs) new chances to build highly automated, differentiated networks that perform better, use less energy, and more. AI/ML has the potential to revolutionise every tier of the network stack, including neural schedulers, neural optimizers, and neural receivers, resulting in improved quality and performance.
Additionally, automation is about to take over the whole network lifecycle, from network design to deployment to optimisation. The use cases span from using generative AI (GenAI) to solve network issues using natural language processing (NLP) superpowers to traditional AI/ML network optimisation. Moreover, Communications Service Providers will be able to conduct thorough simulations in the digital realm prior to implementing changes in the actual physical world thanks to network digital twins.
This is only a cursory examination. Communications Service Providers will be able to create automated and distinctive networks thanks to AI.
AI Assisting in Business AI will be essential to streamlining, updating, and automating CSPs’ business processes. AI has the potential to help Communications Service Providers increase their top and bottom lines, monetize their networks more successfully, and obtain productivity levels never seen before.
Many CSPs have already started their journey with chatbots and call centre copilots, which are enabling new methods of customer service delivery, sentiment analysis, and proactive churn mitigation. To lead the industry in this regard, they are working with Their partners on the TM Forum Catalyst project “AI chat agent: The game changer for telecoms.” Large language models (LLM) trained on telecom data are being used by this Catalyst initiative to enable chatbots that offer prompt, accurate, and individualised customer support.
Improving client experience and generating revenue growth are the two main objectives. By showcasing how LLM-based chatbots can comprehend user intent and set off automatic actions to present customised data plans or start new service subscriptions, The Catalyst showcases the potential of GenAI.
From field support copilots to code development copilots, copilots will increase productivity, and telecom teams will be able to complete tasks much more quickly thanks to new digital assistants powered by GenAI.
In a similar vein, GenAI will allow network operations teams to find anomalies and cut down on troubleshooting time from days to hours or minutes by enabling them to quickly analyse massive logs and sort through a vast amount of signalling message flows.
AI will be essential to network energy efficiency, as practically all Communications Service Providers prioritise sustainability and reducing energy costs, particularly at the edge in (typically) unmanned places. Energy management at edge locations can be automated by organisations by leveraging AI/ML to recognise what equipment is in use and when.
For networks integrating GenAI, significant advances in productivity and efficiency as well as the potential to reduce operational costs will become possible.
Constructing an Infrastructure Ready for AI In order to fully leverage AI’s business potential, CSPs must prepare their network infrastructure to handle a completely new category of workloads: workloads related to AI.
AI-ready infrastructure will help Communications Service Providers offer new services and establish new income streams in addition to helping them build distinctive networks and increase productivity. CSPs are in a unique position to provide edge inferencing services.
Networks are ubiquitous and the edge of the real world. The need for inferencing will increase significantly as AI spreads throughout various industries. Consider data transmission costs, latency, the ability to reject low value data at the edge, and other factors when evaluating the technical and financial benefits of inferencing closer to the data generation location. Communications Service Providers can provide inferencing services for this new class of AI workloads at the edge with infrastructure that is suited for AI.
Additionally, CSPs are developing AI-factories in numerous industries to provide services for training and fine-tuning sovereign AI models.
In order to construct AI-ready infrastructure, CSPs will need to address a number of issues. In order to properly size the AI infrastructure for training and inferencing, real-world power, cooling, form factor, and other constraints must be met while also accounting for the sizes and complexity of AI models.
With a broad spectrum of Power Edge servers and GPUs, Dell Technologies can handle real-world limits and the increasing performance demands of AI workloads. As an illustration:
Large AI model training and tuning is a good fit for the Power Edge XE9680 with 8x Nvidia H100 GPUs, which can be hosted in national and/or regional data centres (NDC/RDC) owned by CSPs.
The PowerEdge R760XA is ideally suited for core network deployments in telecom and can accommodate up to 4x double-wide GPUs or up to 12x single-wide GPUs. When combined with GPUs, PowerEdge XR8000 CPUs can handle medium inferencing workloads and are AI ready to handle tiny edge AI inferencing workloads. These are but a few instances of how portfolio Communications Service Providers may appropriately scale their infrastructure with Google cloud all-inclusive PowerEdge server and GPU. The technological world is interesting right now. AI is a revolutionary force that will completely change the telecom industry. Early arrivals have a lot to gain, and those who are left behind have a lot to worry about

No Rest For The Wicked Developer Moon Studios On Why Remote Development Is Key To Its Success
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/no-rest-for-the-wicked-developer-moon-studios-on-why-remote-development-is-key-to-its-success/
No Rest For The Wicked Developer Moon Studios On Why Remote Development Is Key To Its Success

No Rest for the Wicked is the upcoming action RPG from Moon Studios, the developer behind Ori and the Blind Forest/Will of the Wisps. It’s also the game gracing the latest cover of Game Informer. Cover story writer and editor Marcus Stewart and I traveled to Vienna, Austria, to play the game and speak with two of its leads, tech and production director and studio co-founder Gennadiy Korol and studio CEO and creative director Thomas Mahler.
However, while the frosted glass of the front door of the two-story apartment we entered was engraved with the words “Moon Studios”, this studio is actually just Mahler’s workplace. Korol met us in Vienna for the cover story, but he actually lives in Israel. The rest of Moon Studios lives around the world, because Moon Studios is completely remote – there is no headquarters to report to or central location to work.

Mahler (left) and Korol (right) explain why Moon Studios is a remote studio
While remote development has become more popular as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Moon Studios has been remote since its founding in 2009. When I asked Korol and Mahler about remote development, it’s clear it’s a big part of the team’s winning game development formula, responsible for the aforementioned Ori games and the upcoming No Rest for the Wicked, which launches into Early Access on PC next month.
“We absolutely 100 percent believe it allows us to hire the best talent,” Mahler tells me. “I think for us, it was a little bit easier because we never knew anything else. We started as a remote studio. I do think it’s much harder if you’re at an established studio and you have established, proven processes that are all based on being in the office, and then now, suddenly, the world stops and you have to work remote but these processes […] you’re reliant on […] you have to be in the office for.
“I think that’s a really difficult change to make. That’s like changing the DNA of a studio, but we never had to do that.”
[embedded content]
Mahler says he wouldn’t be in game development if not for the internet and, subsequently, remote work. He lives in Austria, and “there’s almost no [games industry] here.” But because of remote work, he was able to work at studios around the world. “I think that’s just amazing, right? That you can find all these people who are just amazingly talented, no matter where they live in the world, and if they’re super hungry, if they’re really passionate, if they’re willing to throw themselves in, then they can get a job in the games industry.”
He says studios that believe you have to work in the office for good work simply haven’t adapted yet. He hopes Moon Studios’ resume of games speaks to the idea that great products can come from remote studios. “I get this question a lot: ‘How did you make it look so coherent?’,” he says. “The workflow is exactly the same: people play the project, they play the build, they’re in touch with one another all the time. I don’t necessarily know why we need to sit in an open office space to achieve that.”

Korol, who attributes their belief in remote work to meeting Mahler on an online forum in 2004 before creating Moon Studios together in 2009, agrees.
“Some people blame certain things that don’t go right when people are working remotely on the fact that it’s remote work,” he says. “But I think it has to be a bit more nuanced. If you’re just trying to force a remote culture on top of the office approach, which is how a lot of these companies are structured, it’s not going to work. You have to kind of re-envision how the communication works, how the documentation works, how the work flow works, and what the big focus point is. I personally believe that remote work actually puts the emphasis on the product and the work even more than office work.”
Korol admits the team does miss out on the opportunity for water cooler moments, which he says can be fantastic moments, but Moon Studios does try to replicate them with streams, meet-ups, and more.
Korol points to a lack of commute, giving employees back more of their time, and the ability to be with family more easily as key factors for Moon Studios’ remote success.

“There’s no commute, so you don’t have to worry about wasting time,” he tells me. “Especially with people with families. We find it works really well for them because they can be with their kids. We’ve heard all these stories of people that say, ‘Oh, I had to ship this game, and I didn’t see my kid growing up, and I missed that precious period where I will never have that again, and my kid will never be that age again and it’s gone, and I was just so busy with work.’ But if you work remotely from home, you can still be there for your family and do great work.
“You can pace yourself much better, and you can take care of your mental health much better, so I’m a huge believer in [remote work.]”
[embedded content]
Ultimately, Korol and Mahler, Moon Studios’ two leads, believe remote work is the most efficient process. Studios that aren’t remote are missing out on great talent for their games, they say.
“We believe it’s really ultimately the most efficient process if you do it right, if you hire for that, if you optimize all communication for that,” Korol adds. “And like with everything else, you also have to iterate. So if things go wrong, your first reaction shouldn’t be, ‘Oh, let’s bring everybody back to the office.’ The reaction should be, ‘Well, why isn’t it working? Can we fine-tune it? Can we tinker with it a little bit more?’ And I feel like maybe some people are jumping the gun a little bit too fast and are missing out on some opportunities with great talent.”

Rocket Lab is set to launch its first Electron rocket since a failure on Sept. 19. The mission, named “The Moon God Awakens” is scheduled to launch during a two-hour window on Dec. 15 between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm NZDT (04:00 to 06:00 UTC). If unable to fly on the first attempt, the window extends into December with two-hour windows each day. The payload consists of an Earth-observing satellite named Tsukuyomi-I for the Japan-based company the Institute for Q-shu Pioneers of Space, Inc. (iQPS). The Anomaly The Electron failure occurred during the mission named “We Will Never Desert You,” carrying the third satellite for the Earth-imaging constellation developed by Capella Space. Rocket Lab CEO Peter Beck spoke with NSF during a recent NSF Live episode on YouTube about what happened during the flight. According to Beck, the first stage of the rocket flew exactly as planned, followed by a so-called “ignition transition” of the second stage. See AlsoThe Moon God Awakens UpdatesRocket Lab Forum SectionL2 Future Vehicles SectionClick here to Join L2 “During that kind of ignition transient, there’s a whole bunch of stuff that obviously happens and… if you want to boil it down to its most elementary form possible, there was essentially an electrical arc occurred which pulled down the whole voltage,” Beck said. The system aboard Electron consists of a high voltage and low voltage system. Beck commented that the arc from the high-voltage rail ended up downing the low-voltage rail as well. “So we have that 500-volt rail there sitting at the potential,” Beck explained. “So when the arc occurred, if you go back to the live stream, you can actually visually see, you know, a big kind of greenish glow for a small amount of time. The whole of the whole event was about 1.6 seconds or so.” Beck noted that the arc was as long as one meter. The satellite for Capella Space encapsulated prior to launch. (Credit: Rocket Lab) This is unique to this rocket because the upper-stage Rutherford Vacuum engine uses electric turbopumps to get propellant into the engine. The vehicle is currently the only orbital-class rocket in the world that uses such an upper-stage system. Beck described Paschen curves, which in its simplest form is an equation resulting in a curve that determines at what voltage and what atmospheric pressure you are most likely to see an electrical arc. “At a very partial vacuum in certain gases especially, it’s aggravated that you can form these big arcs,” Beck noted. “Now with Electron, of course, at stage separation, the rocket Gods wouldn’t be so kind to us. They put us in the worst part of the Paschen curve possible at that very point in time where the battery voltage is at its highest, of course, because there is a full battery.” Beck noted that there was likely a very small leak allowing electrons to flow out and interact with the combination of trace amounts of nitrogen and helium, plus 500 volts of direct current with alternating current rippling on top of it in that unfortunate part of the curve. Visible sparks at the point of anomaly during Rocket Lab’s launch. (Credit: Rocket Lab) How they were able to determine all of this involved people who worked on movie sets. Using the onboard cameras, they were able to recreate all of the lighting conditions and some unique shadows on the nozzle. Using those shadows, along with visible sparks, led them to this conclusion of an arc. “The guy who did all the lighting work, we kept him segregated from the investigation team,” Beck said. “So he had no idea where the area that we were looking was. So it was a completely independent and isolated kind of project. And, you know, it was about a week or so in and we’d already identified this area as the most probable when he came in and presented as a results and it was, bang.” Corrections to Electron Beck noted that the best way to solve a problem is to delete the problem. After new instruments were used to test electrical potential fields down to microscopic levels, the team decided to pressurize the entire area near the batteries. “[In] the upper stage, there’s a battery frame around the upper stage engine and we filled in all of the panels around the battery frame and put a flexible boot up to the nozzle,” Beck said. “So by pressurizing that area, it only needs to be like a half PSI, basically it’s like being down here on Earth. So there’s no way you can jump arcs at 900 millimeters or a meter. You basically remove any of that kind of Paschen law out of the equation.” The rocket for this mission (left) and the rocket which experienced the anomaly (right). (Credit: Rocket Lab) Beck noted they would be ready for the opening of this launch window in November as long as the customer was ready, which they are. He credits the team working hard hours to get to this mission. It is unclear why the launch got pushed from late November to the middle of December. “The team has done an amazing job, like nobody slept for weeks and weeks and just plowed on through it,” Beck said. “It’s one thing to get to know the causes, it’s another thing to kind of implement pretty drastic corrective measures…in this timeframe and then go through all the testing and acceptance writing and whatnot.” The Moon God Awakens Mission Electron’s return to flight will liftoff from Launch Complex 1B at its custom-built launch site in Mahia, New Zealand. The payload is a synthetic aperture radar satellite that will collect high-resolution images of Earth. The satellite will join another iQPS satellite already in orbit. The goal is a network of 36 satellites that will be capable of monitoring the planet at specific fixed points every ten minutes. A render of TSUKUYOMI-I in orbit. (Credit: iQPS) While the official satellite designation is QPS-SAR-5, it’s also called TSUKUYOMI-I, named after the Japanese God of the Moon. That also influenced Rocket Lab’s naming convention for this mission. The satellite will launch into a 575-kilometer circular orbit inclined 42 degrees. The satellite was originally set to launch aboard Virgin Orbit in 2022, however, the company went out of business before any iQPS satellites could be launched. The Flight Despite the changes to the upper stage following the anomaly, the carbon fiber composite rocket will follow a timeline similar to previous missions. At T-2 seconds, the nine Rutherford sea level engines ignite, running a mixture of Rocket Propellant 1 (RP-1), which is a refined form of kerosene, and liquid oxygen (LOX), followed two seconds later by liftoff. The 18-meter-tall vehicle will reach Max-Q, the point of maximum aerodynamic stress on the vehicle, at T+1 minute 4 seconds. At T+2 minutes 40 seconds, the nine engines will shut down during an event known as main engine cutoff, or MECO. Three seconds later a pneumatic pusher separates the first and second stages. At T+2 minutes 46 seconds, the Rutherford Vacuum engine ignites. This is the portion of the flight where the previous anomaly occurred. The fairings will separate about three and a half minutes into the flight. At T+6 minutes 43 seconds, the first of two engines powering the electric turbopumps is depleted. During a process known as hot swap, the first battery is jettisoned as the second battery takes over. The second stage will continue to run until T+9 minutes 32 seconds, at which point the second engine cuts off in a procedure known as SECO, followed by separation of a kick stage, positioned underneath the satellite, four seconds later. TSUKUYOMI-I mated to its kick stage. (Credit: Rocket Lab) The kick stage, powered by a 3D-printed Curie engine, ignites at T+54 minutes and 13 seconds into flight. This single burn will last 2 minutes 27 seconds, followed by the deployment of the satellite just one minute later. (Lead image: Electron launches from the Mahia Peninsula in New Zealand.
