#galarian slowpoke #picture this. this was the first pokémon revealed from the new DLCs for pokémon sword and shield. the pokémon company #up until this point‚ has never done DLC for a pokémon game before. you‚ having been jaded by shitty DLCs for other games in the past #now have a distaste for the phrase‚ and imagine this can't be good. then‚ in their teaser for the new DLC‚ they add a little event #into the game where they reveal one of the new pokémon that is going to be added in the DLC #and it is a galarian form. that is identical to the original pokémon. but with a yellow head #are you imagining it. now how fucking disappointed are you. how little faith do you have in that DLC that it's going to be as good as it wa #for the most part‚ the pokémon company has demonstrated that they do absolutely excellent DLCs. proper expansions #basically an entire other game on top of the game you already have. and they typically take up the release cycle of a full game #scarlet/violet's especially. WONDERFUL dlc. i never really properly finished the crown tundra just because i was so late to the party #because i avoided buying the dlc for so long because of this experience that i've just described to you #that by the time i bought it and played it‚ it was just because SV had been announced and i wanted more pokémon to tide me over #and i never finished it. one of these days‚ i'd like to go back and finish it‚ but i'm playing through pokémon xd gale of darkness right no #and i prefer to play. one game at a time. and i don't know when i'll ever really get back to it #or if i'll ever get back to it! 'cause without resetting my save file all the way i'll just have to Remember what it is that already happen #which i'm. notoriously bad at when it comes to coming back to games that i haven't played in a while #plus i know sv is like shitty performance or whatever but the movement in that game is so much better #it feels so much more freeing than going back to gen 8 where you can still just. run. and that's it #i know nobody likes scarlet/violet but i still. like it. performance aside. like yes the performance is terrible but i still had a great #time with it. i just praised its DLC for fuck's sake! its DLC was fuckin wonderful! it has kieran in it so it like can't be bad

Now that i think about it, excluding canto I and canto II bc they’re not fully fleshed out, i started to notice the trend in every canto we play

Canto III and V is pure adrenaline rush whereas canto IV is just pure depression (and soon will canto VI i know i read wuthering weights i know for the fact that heathcliff canto will be fcking miserable)

oh absolutely not they mostly have their own spaces! fabian is flying around in the seacaster mansion, adaine has an apartment around the area riz's detective office is, kristen is still based in elmville so she can keep an eye out for her siblings. fig gorgug and riz technically share a house but fig moves between like five different addresses whenever she feels like it and riz spends about equal time at his offices and at everyone's places. the thing is I don't think the adventurer circles are that big? and when you grow up with that you eventually keep running into the same people. and also the bad kids still definitely spend every single holiday together regardless of what any of them individually has going on

so there is this thing I've speculated over many times but I never mathed it out before so:

This tells us that Blaine was born at some point between 6/4/1980 and 5/4/1981 (I assume it's not his birthday bc I feel like he would have mentioned it but he also might not)

We also learn this:

Now this seems to slightly conflict with this -

-but I'm actually more leaning towards the first one, because Angus was actually sane then (by McDonough standards) then and it's a legal "document", while the other is a "Brother Love" doing a sermon.

Also, we can see on screen, that the will was recorded on March 4th 2012 - so minus 35 years, that actually means that she's been working for him since before Blaine was born (1977 or 1978)

Which would really mean she was there all of Blaine's life. This is also kind of supported for me by this:

Now...in present day, Blaine mostly refers to his father by his name, using words like dad or pops etc sometimes for the sake of it. But...assuming that he's actually quoting something he remembered saying at some point (which it sure sounds like in that scene), then he must have been pretty young to still have referred to his father as "daddy" - especially considering Angus' long absence and generally...low tolerance for "weakness" or sentimentality. I feel like he wouldn't have humoured that for long but that's just speculation. But my point is that Blaine would have been pretty young at that point which supports the earlier theory that Frau Bader really was there for most of his life.

The thing is, personally I always speculated that she was hired because Angus was barely home/didn't really spend time with his son and because his mother was too mentally ill/traumatised to take care of a child. but. Unless Blaine has a secret mysterious older sibling we never hear about, Bader cannot possibly have been hired as a nanny. Which kind of makes me wonder whether she was supposed to be a kind of "caretaker" for Blaine's mother before that. (Or whatever else her connection to Angus might be)

#i won’t even get into the details of it but my work is being undermined and i didn’t say anything about it bc i was so taken aback and in #absolute shock. i have literally never Ever experienced something of this sort im not being dramatic i went into my office and told my #coworker girls what happened and everyone was staring blankly like ‘they said that to YOU??????’ bc it’s genuinely fucking unbelievable #got told some out of pocket shit that i willllll notttttt let slide but i need to get my shit together and think up the best way to respond #bc this wasn’t just undermining my work it was borderline humiliating. all from this woman who is supposedly my PhD mentor who NEVER #fucking helped me with anything and now she’s trying to tell me something that is SO insanely unfounded and just insane truly #as if i didn’t take over the entire goddamned (multi million) project and played the role of *drumroll* two phd students three #collaborators and TWO mentors one of whom was supposed to be the project lead. all that did so well that our ceo STILL praises me in #meetings and he never fucking praises anyone. as if i wasn’t offered two job positions in two separate labs while in one of london’s top #universities. as if i haven’t published 8 papers and a scientific book chapter which I’m the first author of #all without her help and now she wants to play mentor by trying to talk shit. oh my god im so miserable right now you have no idea #i can’t fucking stand her and no one in the company likes her anyway lmao but like #when i get out of this fucking state of SHOCK she just put me in im about to tell her to fuck off forever so politely and so wonderfully #that she will not know what happened to her. doubting MY capabilities ohhhh as if. as IF.
