hello hello! could i request hijikata & gintoki with a more playful s/o that likes to try and sneak up on them to give them hugs/kisses or even attempt to initiate play fighting? i HIGHLY doubt sneaking up on either of them would ever work but you've gotta keep your man on his toes right?
Gintoki Sakata:
-Why should he keep his guard up? He gets you happy and sweet in his lap without having to lift a finger; it sounds like a win-win situation for him.
-Cover him in kisses, tell him how much you’d like to suck his face, Gintoki acts all detached, but you’re making his heartbeat increase to an alarming rate.
-But Gintoki has a radar for pain in the ass (since he is one too), so the instant you are ready to jump on him to play fight, he is already hiding under Otose’s counter.
-Gintoki is in the mood to play fight only when he is in that kind of mood, and even in that case, things are good when they last little, so he’ll be fast in making you sweet and pliant under him.
Hijikata Toshiro:
-His guard is always up and when I mean always I mean that ‘till he gets in the REM phase of sleep he always has an eye open.
-It’s all Sougo's fault to say the truth.
-You give him a heart attack every time you make a move, even more in public.
-Toshiro is gonna flick you hard on the forehead, I warned you.
-Even at home he has a stick up his ass so it’s gonna be hard to have a nice reaction from him.
-Toshiro can be pretty clingy at home, so that may be the best moment to make him play fight with you; he just gets too pliant about anything you want to do with him.
-Treasure those times.

Why bother? (Why bother?) It's gonna hurt me. (It's gonna hurt me.) It's gonna kill when- (Why bother!) -You desert me! (Gonna hurt me!)
Set after Nightmare. Laios is reminiscing and contemplating.
#laishuro#laios touden#i make a lot of jokes on here since part of the fun of this blog for me is limiting myself to only expressing ideas via drawings#as much as I can to try to see what I can try to convey in the limited time I have to draw each day which is sometimes like 15minutes#but laios idea of who shuro was to him and who he continues to be and how it ties into his own feelings of self worth and self hatred#not to mention being so thoroughly defined by having never been indulged before by the men in his life#are so compelling to me#and then of course you mix in toshiros own mind prisons#and their established dynamic of him begrudgingly putting up with him because he feels he has to and bc hes cursed with obedience#whilst laios genuinely thinks shuro does it because he likes it and likes laios because why else would anyone act like that#when everyone else in his life has not hesitated to Let Him Know#this is what is so fun about relationships like this…forever passing by each other’s true feelings like ships in the night#sometimes i get embarassed how deep i get for some of the characters in this series it really is that deep sometimes but not always#but WHATEVER#i never even engaged in or was interested in shipping the several years i read dunmeshi EXCEPT laishuro lol#which i sadistically wanted to stay one sided and miserable forever. I rarely get fed such genuinely fraught dynamics as their one in manga#so i became obsessed#and walked through the desert alone for 40 years and then checked in as anime started airing that other people ship this and gaf#and decided to unleash the jokes and ideas that my like 2 friend who like anime previously suffered alone as though they were jesus christ#now tho as much as I still enjoy tragedy and pain and emotional suffering I’ve let love and peace and requited fulfilled yaoi into my life#with laishuro. and its great!#my comics

Dungeon Meshi Quick Reacts: CH38
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rip to these promising mages. I assume they will not survive this massacre.
Tumblr media
IS that where her lungs and kidneys are? Because like. She's huge. Her entire body is behind her. Do you really think she'd keep her vital organs in the little human bulb on the front?
Tumblr media
I mean, he has a point. What are you going to do? Fight off more hoardes of dragons?
Tumblr media
oh noooo, Kabru.... too bad. That's so unfortunate.... anyway.
It's curious that Laios only got knocked away. He was just as likely to have had his head squished like a grape.
Tumblr media
Guys, this is absolutely not the time to be concerned for her privacy.
Tumblr media
Yes, queen. Free the tiddy. Murder everyone in this dungeon. I support women's rights and women's wrongs.
Tumblr media
.......that's. One way to do that. I guess.
.......what's that rock about.
Tumblr media
Oh, I see. That's convenient.
Tumblr media
This guy dungeons! Maybe he even dragons.
Tumblr media
So we got north (tallmen? dwarves?) and then the easterners.... and now the elves of the west?
He's going to give her to the Americans?! ಠ_ಠ
Tumblr media
To be fair, at least they HAD a plan. And they executed it. It's more than you did. I don't mean to point fingers but... at least they... ya know... did something.
Tumblr media
Kabru's like 'no, no, hang on, I need to hear what batshit fucked up thing this dude is going to say next, this is important'
Tumblr media
Laios is so stressed he broke character.
Then again, maybe it's healthy to let them slug it out a bit. Get it out of their system.
Tumblr media
It's true. They wore fitbits and everything.
Tumblr media
...hey, hold on a second.
Tumblr media
Now hold on a minute.
Damn, this is. Kind of even worse because. I guess I could have guessed that Toshi was just pretending to be polite, like you do. Cultural differences.
But the painful thing is, Laios doesn't seem surprised. He just seems resigned. He's been told before that he's difficult to get along with. To the extent that he doesn't even consider Marcille and Chillchuck his friends? Even though they arguably both care about him? But because Toshiro didn't bother to be deadpan about him being a bit odd at times, Laios thought it meant that was fine.
And that kinda hurts. Like damn. Laios just wanted to make a true connection. And I can't really blame Toshiro either, he was just trying to keep the peace but. Damn.
Tumblr media
Free her! Let her do her illegal magics! She deserves it! (︶^︶)
Tumblr media
Thoughts:
Senshi just being annoyed about that one last harpy looking for scraps.... like "shoo, this ain't the time"
That gnome seems genuinely nice. I'm sorry Falin squished his pet undyne.
Kabru hugging his..... mage? Girlfriend???? Seems very...one sided. Kinda feel bad for her.
Laios and Toshiro still going at it, I see. Get it allout, boys.
Uhhhhhhhhhh ninja girls.
Aww, doggo.
Last question: Where did the cat go?
Tumblr media
Senshi: I can fix that.
Tumblr media
Are you all worried because he's finally making sense?!?!
Laios and he punched their singular braincells into several new ones, it seems.
Tumblr media
F./....Falin... please give the caterpillar some privacy........
Tumblr media
My man, maybe lead with that............
I can't believe Marcille was potentially more forward about her feelings.......
Tumblr media
"his pupils are dilated" yes, thank you sherlock. You've finally realized what everyone else who meets Laios feels almost immediately. he's a monster freak club card carrying member. Welcome.
Tumblr media
p.....pubby......
Tumblr media
As long as he was also inside the dungeon with them.... yes.
Tumblr media
The issue with Kabru isn't that he isn't trying his best. It's that Laios isn't trying at all.
Tumblr media
On a scale of one to Kabru, how badly do you react to being offered a food you don't want to eat?
Tumblr media
......oh no. He's so pathetic it's funny. He's growing on me.
Tumblr media
Absolute morons, the pair of them. Immovable object meets unstoppable force. The funniest combination ever. Ghost type and normal type pokemon, forever throwing moves at each other that will never hit. Laios thinking he's made a friend. Kabru just barely stopping himself from killing Laios. Best comedy pair. Tom and Jerry in a can.
Anyway. What a great manga.

thinkign about laishuro but in a college au setting. mini fic kinda incoming im having brainworms.
toshiro keeps to himself and doesn't really talk to many people (but i like to think he's already good friends with kabru because they share some of the same classes together) but he shares this one class with this incredibly talkative guy that the professor absolutely despises named laios that always makes the class fucking bust out laughing. laios is the class clown but he's popular because he's just that guy that kinda knows everybody. and he sits next to toshiro and often asks him about assignments or to copy his notes because he didn't get to read all the slides on time. meanwhile toshiro's just like ok whatever (doesnt think anything of it)
since kabru already knows laios by default toshiro kinda gets roped into his whole friend group of different majors but i like to imagine they're all good friends because they're in the DnD club and toshiro's initiated like Immediately against his will. every now and then the club hangs out after classes and it's actually really Obvious that laios likes toshiro. he's like going out of his way to make sure the newbie is "comfortable" and other than kabru it's laios who toshiro ends up talking to the most. laios is sitting next to him the whole night, leaning in when toshiro needs to say something because it's super loud at the restaurant and everyone's like Lmao this is so painful.
kabru the instigator is like "guys let's add toshiro to the group chat" and he's making eyes at farlyn and marcille and chilchuck, who's just like fucking facepalming because they're horrible at being subtle, and it's laios who's like "OH YEAH TOTALLY, toshiro what's your number?????" so toshiro gives his number and he's added to the DnD group chat but really it was just a ploy for laios and toshiro to start texting each other. it works bc laios texts toshiro individually and says "hey its laios from bio i got ur number from the dnd gc i hope it's okay lol" i can see this fucking happening when kabru and toshiro are hanging out and kabru's like "bitch i FUCKING KNEW IT!!" and toshiro's like "of course i know it's him. why does he have to say that. he's very odd." kabru's just Staring at him like my dear friend laios likes you. toshiro's confused because ????? the thordens talk to like everybody on campus i think he's just friendly. and kabru says there's at least 20 other people in your class that he could ask for notes and assignments yet he always asks you. he's always asking all their friends where toshiro is when he's not around. he's like the first to look for toshiro when he walks into a room that laios KNOWS toshiro is in. he's always excited to see you to come club meetings. he texts you like every other day. he's even asked you to hang out, alone??? many times??? like how people ask each other on dates????
toshiro telling kabru its just to work on assignments together. and kabru brings up laios walking him all the way back to their dorm and giving him a hug, and toshiro can agree that's a bit Strange but it's "not even a big deal" until he's wide awake in bed at night thinking of the last time laios hugged him after walking him home and he's red in the face like FUCK. THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME.
anyways toshiro unable to handle the fact that what he has, as kabru calls it, is a Crush(TM) and refuses to believe it so he begins avoiding laios until it becomes a big thing. laios is genuinely upset and thinks he did something wrong. so he tracks toshiro down to ask him about it and he's rambling on about being an idiot and thinking he did something to make toshiro uncomfortable, toshiro doesn't rlly know what to do bc all his feelings the past few weeks have been piling up and is about to explode and he just. grabs laios and kisses him square on the lips.
a minute passes and they stare at each other. and laios is just like. Wat. toshiro's internally freaking out. and when he opens his mouth and says "laios-" laios cuts him off and very shyly asks, "can you... uh, can you do that again?"
toshiro just feels himself relax. laughs. and laios laughs. and toshiro kisses him again.
anyways i need fanart of this so bad bye

To say you had a crush on the white haired prodigy captain was too little, it was an understatement.
Years ago, decades ago, it could have been looked at as a crush like one of those in those shoujo manga Rukia had told you about after coming back from the human world.
Now, and for quite some time, it was pure affection and love, it was far more than admiration and enchantment from his good looks. It was you liking everything about him, feeling as if the world wasn’t so bad when he appeared in a space you were in.
But as everything happened, there was still a distance between you two. He was a busy captain that most of the time had to spend his time with his own lieutenant or doing paperwork rather than socialize with others. He had always been like that, when Isshin Shiba was Captain, Toshiro was still the workaholic he is at current times.
Your only way to be close to him as you were in the past was by being something like his personal assistant, bringing him everything he could crave in the midst of his day behind the desk. And then spark some conversation to make him relax a little.
Today was supposed to be no different than the others. But for once as you passed the hallways of the barracks with the tray in your hands and opened the door to his office, he wasn’t there.
It wouldn’t have been strange if only he had notified you and your partner, the third seat. A bit of anxiousness knotted in your throat as the only other times this happened was when the war was coming or any huge battle was being declared.
“Y/N?” The voice that calmed your soul echoed through the room, after a sigh you could see from the little space in the paper walls that he was on the patio outside.
A small smile appeared on your lips. “Toshiro.” You called him back, taking the tray back in your hands from the desk and handing towards him outside.
You didn’t miss the tsk at the sound of his name and you didn’t for sure miss the same grumble about calling him captain.
“Toshiro, you had me scared I thought you had gone to an emergency or something bad was happening.” You poured the hot tea in his mug. “But you were just out here.”
“Thank you.” He took his mug in his hands, blowing over it a little. “I just needed some fresh air, I was sat on that chair since yesterday night as I had to look over some reports and write my own. I needed a few minutes for a break.” He sighed.
He looked as tired as one could be, it pained your heart to only be able to witness and not doing much for him effectively. “Uhm… Do you want me to go? So I can give you space to rest?”
“No, no, it’s fine, stay here.” He put his hand on your forearm putting you back in place beside him. “We haven’t had much of a moment for some time, things were a bit easier when Isshin was captain.”
“No, they weren’t.” He chuckled at your bluntness. “You were still covering for the majority of his work.”
Silence settled, the two of you looked at the green, the flora and fauna of the garden, the chirping all around was soothing and a reflect of your current need of peace. Your body slumped, relaxing way too much, till the side of your head gently rested on his shoulder.
His body stiffened for a few seconds, relaxing knowing it is you.
You who stayed beside him for all of this time, you who could understand him, you who tried every day to make him smile with the few words you could exchange.
He didn’t know when exactly you two distanced yourself this much, that your touch could have him feeling nervous, you used to do it a lot before and he was fine with it.
Maybe he was so focused on work that he lost sight of his surroundings, lost sense to his own feelings. He closed his eyes, inhaling the scent of your perfume, his hand moving to find yours with his heart thumping against his rib cage and breath hitching when your finger entertained with his.
“Toshiro?” He hummed at you. “Can we do this more often?”
Your head turned as you asked the question, your face so close to his, looking and admiring his profile.
You both were wondering if the other could hear the loud beating of your hearts, if the heat one felt the other could too at such a distance.
His throat went dry as he hummed and nodded not trusting his own voice to be as secure and stoic as it is usually.
He turned towards you, blue eyes observing you back, half lidded, going back and forth between your eyes and your lips, plump and soft, that he wanted to try and savor.
You wondered who was the first that leaned in but your lips were on one another’s seconds later. It was soft and hesitant, there was no pressure at all, a lasting peck that had your eyes closed as the only thing that gripped were your hands.
Pulling away slightly, your eyes met, an evident blush on his face as he felt out of place and embarrassed on what to do next. Your smile calmed him as now you were the one that went in for another kiss, one that was more than the previous.
Your lips were moving slowly, picking up the pace by the second, tilting your head to the side for a deeper kiss, a low moan escaping your mouth as his hand went up to your waist while the other slipped from your hand and went up to the side of your face.
His thumb caressed your skin, the smacking of your lips wet from each other drowned in the outside noise. Your were praying and hoping for no one to come out of the shadows at this moment with everything escalating so fast.
He was sat up straight, pulling you to him, you seemed as if you were on your knees in front of him, your hands planted on the wooden floor were the only thing keeping you up.
Pulling away for some air, your breathing were heavy, your body disheveled in front of him, he only craved more. “Fuck-“
He smashed his lips against yours once more, this time you were both not shy to sounds you were making, he took the chance when a moan had your mouth open just enough to insert his tongue.
His grip on you was rougher, trying to feel more, you were a bit hesitant to respond to him, eventually you tried following his lead, tongue to tongue, his saliva mixing with yours messily. The heat in you pooled more and more, till your thighs were visibly squeezing to relieve the sensation, your hand went up to his captain robe, holding it as if your life depended on it.
His nails dug into your skin, at the moment he wasn’t the respectable captain and you weren’t the good tamed fourth seat that everyone could deem innocent, you were two friends that had fallen into the temptation after so long, two people whose only thought in mind was to strip off the robes you were wearing.
Feel the bare skin onto the other, unite into one and make love to suppress the current carnal desire that was taking over. You didn’t even care of your public position, how anyone passing by could see you.
The moans and groans were shamelessly loud, and as his hand fell onto your neck he fought the urge to slip his hand under it and taking it off. He whined a little, pulling away from you, pecking your smile face as he just hugged you close to him to keep it under control. Your arms wrapped around his waist as your half laid body leaned against his.
Your ear to his chest, let you hear his irregular heartbeat. “This is a superior-employee like relationship, it’s inappropriate in the same squad.” He muttered, reciting some rule he doesn’t even know if it exists.
“But I still want to try… to be with you… let’s try, please.” He could hear the slight pleading in your tone and even if you hid it there was probably some pain crossing your features, he couldn’t handle that.
He wouldn’t even deny this if he tried, not after what you two already started, he simply wanted more, here and once you two were home.
“We can try.”

Holy shit, chapter 30 was so good. The depiction of the parade manages to balance so many aspects. It's chilling, creepy, macabre and grotesque and so heart-wrenching. It appears like a typical festive ceremony, but the transflored humans make it seem truly otherworldly and among all those bombastic spectacles you have the people (mostly children) brought like lambs for the slaughter. They know exactly what awaits them and they can see all around them what they eventually will turn into.
The worldbuilding in Fool Night is just so good. You start to see how it all connects. The ones chosen for the parade are technically making a great sacrifice, turning into flora so the rest of humanity can have more oxygen to breath. But as usual, even this already horrible act gets further corrupted by greed. Instead of producing oxygen, they more often then not get turned into furniture because some people only care about the money they can make off of this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love how this also further explores Toshiro and Ivy's relationship. I hope the two meet again in the future. Toshiro sold his body and began the transfloration process because he needed money, which is already horrible enough, but now he gets further confronted with how corrupt this system really is and how much worse even the transfloration process can get as seen by Ivy and their sister. Worst of all, his best friend is complicit in all this, even if she doesn't like it. I'm curious to see if he can actually manage to accomplish something and at least help Ivy. Changing the whole system seems way too big at the moment, but I'm already impressed that he is resolute to try to accomplish some change and push deeper for more answers. I wouldn't blame him if this would just make him freeze with existential dread.
Which brings to another scene
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We've seen transflora with some human remains before or humans with some branches here and there, but this is something else. They are still clearly mostly conscious, but have lost their mobility and normal functionality already. Probably the worst part of the process. Of course the government doesn't want the general population to see that, the riots happening now would've picked up much earlier then. It's interesting how the government and most of the parties opposing the transfloration practice dehumanize the people who do undertake it. The government just sees them as fuel and they encourage others to do the same or this process would become a little too immoral (like shipping the ones who still look too human off). Similarly, the opposing parties often show the sentiment, that only The Poor are doing the transfloration process, they are leeching off government money before dying and they are (somehow) responsible for taxes increasing. Only the desperate do this and the poor and homeless are never treated well. Instead of seeing that things like the oxygen tax drive people to undergo transfloration to receive money aka a last desperate move before dying, the opposing parties punish these people as well by saying they are greedy, wasting what little money they're given and also an eyesore. Transflored humans are the main reason they can even breathe, but nobody wants to really acknowledge that. So they get dehumanized by everyone.
I also thought this was a very powerful moment because it once again confronts Toshiro with what fate awaits him as well. In a year or so he might be hanging on that wall as well, they might ship him off soon too because they don't think he looks human enough and is an eyesore. It reminds him once again what little time he has left. And still he chooses to spend it looking deeper into all this and finding some sort of justice for Ivy or at the very least answers. He could just look away and use the relative financial stability he now has to make the best of the human life he has left, but instead he goes the more painful way. Really like him more and more as a main character. This is clearly not easy for him, but that doesn't hold him back, even if he has his moments of panic. He also has changed a lot since the beginning of the series because in the first few chapters, if he saw something like the parade or this wall of transflored humans, he would've run away and try to forget (which is an understandable and natural reaction).
It's too bad the English translations take so long, but the wait for every chapter is definitely worth it. The German translation of Volume 1 is coming out in July and I'll definitely buy it.

OKAY, SO WE FINALLY BEAT PERSONA 5 TACTICA AND THE REPAINT YOUR HEART DLC, FULL SPOILER REVIEW AHEAD
- First of all, I think the game is very good. I rate it 9/10, because although there are some stuff I don’t like, the good stuff is SO good that it makes up for it perfectly. It is a great game, and I don’t regret at all buying the Deluxe Edition on release.
- The gameplay is VERY good, no doubt one of the greatest points in the game. As a fan of tactical RPG fan, it’s a system that is very different than the usual “your character’s turn, move these squares, do your action, proceed”. The fact that you freely move the characters makes for a very peculiar experience, and it makes for a very fun gameplay, with cool puzzles that, although I recognized may be annoying for some people, were very fun to me. Very cool!
- However, I think the gameplay lacked more Persona/SMT elements. For example, the lack of a system based on elemental weaknesses was something I didn’t like. Because of that, I spent 90% of the game’s battle with a party composed of Joker, Panther and Queen, without feeling any need to alternate between different characters. Sure, there’s this mechanic that the characters have better status if you let them rest, só it’s valid to alternate the party, but that was literally the only reason, the aspect of changing characters because of their strong or weak points was kinda lost. Also, no Social Links aside from the Quests and the Talk menu, that provide some fun scenes, but doesn’t replace the social aspect of the Persona games.
- That said, the Quests and Talk scenes were REALLY cool, it provided us with some awesome interactions between characters and did a wonderful job at including the newcomers Erina and Toshiro. Things like Yusuke wanting to see Legionnaires fall from the sky, Haru blowing up everything to let off steam, Erina trying to summon a Persona and being a worthy rival of Ryuji in the aspect of yelling at inappropriate times… it was all very cool. Also, the Quests were amazing in gameplay if you like puzzles. I don’t like it, but I had lots of fun with it.
- The game is kinda short, and it felt like a waste to have only two Kingdoms with a strong historical theme (the French Revolution and the Meiji Revolution), the other two Kingdoms felt kinda bland. I think it would have been nice to insert at least one or two other Kingdoms with strong revolution sceneries.
- The story itself is very cool. Erina is amazing since the start, but Toshiro is a character that really grows on you. He starts off being very annoying, but since the main story is all about his development, you end up liking him more, and the transition from “adult pain in the ass” to “honest man trying to do the right thing” is very nice, and his background is amazing.
- There’s a specific scene where you, as Joker, can pick someone on the Phantom Thieves you’d want to marry, and that includes Ryuji and Yusuke as well. I really loved that scene because, although Ryuji and Yusuke scenes are more inclined to comedy, in no moment it goes like “whaaaaat, you want to marry Ryuji, that’s weird man, no homo”, quite the opposite, in both Ryuji and Yusuke options the act of them marrying Joker is seen as totally normal, without making fun of it, and well, it’s not just the boys’ options that tend to comedy, if you pick Makoto the scene is also hilarious. Sure, it could have been better, but we’re talking about Atlus, every baby step is a reason to rejoice in that way. Who knows, maybe in Persona 6 we’ll FINALLY have a MLM romance option.
- LAVENZA IS BETTER THAN EVER, it’s her best version of all times, she radiates 1000000% of that Elizabeth and Margaret chaotic energy and I FUCKING SCREAMED WHEN VELVET ROOM TURNED INTO A FUCKING TRAIN OH MY GOD THAT WAS SO FUCKING AWESOME HELL YEAH
- Salmael is the generic god final boss, normal to every Persona game. But one thing I didn’t like is how it’s not directly based on any entity like Nyx, Izanami or Yaldabaoth. Sure, you can argue that it’s based on Samael, but it doesn’t make any sense, since it’s only in the name, nothing in Salmael’s motivations have anything to do with Samael. Aside from that, well, can’t say much about it, just the regular “god-that-looks-for-excuses-to-fuck-up-humanity-while-trying-to-justify-saying-they’re-actually-saving-it” that we have on every Persona game.
- I think the game is kinda easy. Sure, it’s a good thing for those who want to enjoy the story, but I beat the game on Medium and had literally no difficult whatsoever aside from some Quests (and in those cases, the difficulty is more related to solving a puzzle than facing actually difficult enemies). The damage input is mostly small, the AI is not really smart and you have access to very strong skills early on. Dunno how that would go if I tried on Hard, but Medium felt more like Easy to me. And I don’t mean that as “I’m too good for this game, it’s so easy for my standards”, but I really think the game difficulty is not that high, which can be good for some and disappointing for others.
Now about Repaint Your Heart, the DLC:
- CAN’T BELIEVE THEY ADDED SPLATOON TO THE PERSONA + FIRE EMBLEM MIX, THAT’S SO CREATIVE, SOUNDS REALLY DUMB AT FIRST BUT WORKED SO WELL
- The story itself is not that bad, but not that good either. Guernica is cool, Luca is cute, but their story wasn’t that touching for me, I couldn’t empathize with them properly.
- Still, the DLC was cool not only because of the Splatoon mechanics, but also because of Akechi and Kasumi interactions. If you play it knowing what is happening at that time (it’s before Sae’s calling card, so Akechi is already part of the Phantom Thieves, is in the middle of the plot to betray them and assassinate Joker, and Joker is fully aware of that), it’s awesome because you can clearly see the moments when Akechi’s figurative mask fells off, and you have many dialogue options made to provoke him.
- Don’t have much to say about Kasumi, she’s cute and nice as always. Also, THAT SCENE OF HER LEGIT WILLING TO PICK UP TRASH WITH LUCA, HOLY SHIT
- I want to turn Jerri into fried chicken, but her motivations seem kinda dumb, I mean, she’s a servant of Salmael, who wants to “save” mankind erasing all will of conflicts, then she brainwashes Guernica to kill all of manking using conflict? Makes no sense at all unless she was rebelling against him, and that’s clearly not the case.
Well… it was quite an experience. I loved it.

Prompt: Mission fic
Rating: T for battle violence and mentions of injury/blood
Setting: after the 10 year timeskip
Synopsis: After a mission to eradicate some dangerous Hollows goes badly, Momo protects a badly injured Toshiro.
AN: once again I am writing a fic for the prompts from @yearoftheotpevent's challenge. This started off as a completely different idea and somehow ended up like this. For me it's a bit of a weird one, but I still liked how it turned out. I realised I often write about Toshiro coming to save or fight alongside Momo, so I decided to do the opposite this time around.
Hope you enjoy it!
______________________________
The distant roars of a Menos sends a shiver up Momo’s spine. The answering calls of the Huge Hollows makes her will her legs to run faster. She hasn’t seen any yet, but she knows lower class Hollows lurk in the forests, waiting to take the scraps of whatever the Huge Hollows and Menos left behind.
She sheathes Tobiume back against her hip despite the pain lancing up her right side and it’s not long before her throat burns from panting.
However, her focus is on finding Toshiro. He’d been flung in this direction, but she can barely sense his reiatsu. She tries to stay focused on the few erratic whisps that reach her. An attack like that wouldn’t kill him, not even close, but it likely put him out of this battle for good.
She cringes at her captain’s distant calls, barely heard over the Hollows. She normally wouldn’t abandon his side during a fight, but he’d ordered her to find his fellow captain. Rangiku had to stay with her officers, but Momo saw the flash of fear across her face after Toshiro had been knocked out of the sky. He’d want her to keep their officers safe above all else, and so she only nodded at Momo and said she’d call Fourth Division after the fight was over.
His reiatsu is getting closer and closer, but it suddenly changes from bursts into pulses. Momo’s throat tightens in worry. He’s either on the verge of or already unconscious. If she injuries are that severe, she won’t have enough to heal him as best as she can.
Her fears are confirmed when she stumbles to a stop and let’s out a breathless shout. Several Hollows have gathered around where she senses Toshiro. A few are bent over in what appears to be a wide hole, roaring into it. Around them are shard of ice, broken away from Daiguren Hyourinmaru. One Hollow’s horn, mark, and arm are covered in ice; it’s the most determined of the group to get down to where Toshiro likely lies.
Momo can’t take them all on alone. It hardly seems to matter in the wake of an anger she hadn’t felt in over a decade. It burns her, causing her the shake and grit her teeth. The pain in her side evaporates and Tobiume's flames boil her blood, screaming for her to attack.
She rushes forward, tearing through the trees while she unsheathes and releases Tobiume into her shikai state. She cries out as she unleashes fireball after fireball at every Hollow. Some howl and scurry away, others turn to attack her, snarling as the fires either die down or continue to burn on their furs or skins.
A few Hollows charge at her, talons and limbs raised and teeth bared. Jumping one of them in a flash step, she raises and swings Tobiume into it’s mask. Not risking a second, she pulls her blade out before the Hollow even begins to disintegrate and launches herself at the next one.
This one is quadrupedal, but with a wince, she dodges an attack of one of it’s spiked tails. When the other tail flies at her, she slices Tobiume into it, cutting deeply. As the Hollow roars in pain and attempts to fall back, she points her middle and index fingers and chants, “Hado Four, Byakurai!”
The blue bolt bursts from her fingertips and slices into the Hollow’s mask, and continues until it cuts through another Hollow behind it through the torso. As one disintegrates, Momo launches a fireball at the other in a finishing low.
She doesn’t have time to catch her breath as more stomp towards her. To her chagrin, two of them looking like they are the most power of the group, bordering on becoming Huge Hollows. She launches more fireballs, but it does little to deter them.
She’s distracted by the few Hollows behind them who have returned to the hole. The adrenaline cools a fraction. No, she can’t take them all on her own, and she changes her tactics.
She flash-steps out of the way of striking talons and dodges her way between the Hollows’ legs to get behind them. Without a second to waste, she fires another barrage of fireballs at the Hollow’s still lingering at the hole, sending them dashing away with howls and yelps. In the seconds before their pain would turn to fury and they’d launch at her, she flash steps the gap between her and the hole. With only foot on the ground to propel her and not seeing the bottom, she leaps into it.
She winces at her landing, fresh pain now flaring up in her legs. she’d underestimated the depth of the hole. Flinging her head around, she only takes in three things: she’s in a cave system, Toshiro lies with a protect layer of ice over him, and he has indeed fallen unconscious.
“Hitsugaya-kun,” she says without realizing, voice raspy.
The howls from above snap her attention back to the hole. Hollows bend into the cave, trying to either reach in and attack her, or worse, fall in.
She uses the first kido that comes to mind. She stabs Tobiume into the ground and raises both hands. With as much calm as she can muster, she chants the full incantation for Sokatsui. With every inch the Hollows get closer, her heart races a beat faster and her voice gets louder. At the incantation’s last word, the blue-white energy flies from her hands and explodes into a massive wave that engulfs the entire hole.
As soon as it dies down, she casts a kyomon. Beyond it, most of the Hollows have been injured; a few were completely disintegrated by the blast. The surviving ones try and fail to break the barrier. It’s almost a whole minute later when they stop and edge away from sight. Momo remains rigid, listening to their heavy steps and snarls grow distant until they’re gone.
She falls to her knees with a relieved gasp. Quivers take over her, the adrenaline draining from her completely. She dislodges Tobiume from the ground and returns her back to her sealed state before sheathing her away.
With the state Toshiro is in, she can’t transport him somehow back to the others. With a sigh, she realises she has to wait for them to come find them. Toshiro’s reiatsu, even this weak, would still be felt by Shinji and Rangiku from the battlefield at least. If it weren’t for how dire the situation is, she might have laughed at the notion that of all the places Toshiro could have fell into, he fell through a hole into a cave; or maybe he’d created it himself, but with a lack of rocks and broken earth on the ground, it doesn’t look like that happened.
With some struggle, she stands again. She’s about to turn her sights to Toshiro, but remembering she is in a tunnel, panic grips her at the idea that the Hollows might eventually come across where the cave entrance was, or if there was another hole that led into the system.
She moves over to Toshiro. The ice encasing him was actually one of Daiguren Hyourinmaru’s broken wings, and with some effort and ignoring the piercing cold, she lifts it away. He lies on his right side, his fringe falling over his closed eyes, and Hyourinmaru rests on top of his palm, the fingers barely curled towards the hilt. His bankai had been deactivated, but pieces of ice like one of his wings, the small chunks are scattered around him, and the sheet of it lining a section of the cave wall remain. Ice also sealed over a gash in her head the other open wounds across his arms. He has drying blood in his hair and on his skin, but he’s not bleeding out.
It’s with this in mind she chooses to us the last of her kido to raise kyomons over both ways of the tunnel. Casting the last one, she collapses back against the cave wall in exhaustion. She winces as the pain in her side returns. Her uniform had been ripped by an earlier attack, but she doesn’t look down to confirm whether it’s only a bruise or an open wound. It wasn’t enough to stop her reaching Toshiro, it couldn’t be too bad.
At the thought of her friend, she looks over to him and slides down the wall until she’s sitting next to him. She’s careful to not disturb him, keeping her feet close to her and lowering her reiatsu so it wouldn’t melt the ice over his wounds. She wishes she could inspect his wounds, but she take what meager comfort she can get in the steady rise and falls of shoulder and chest from when he breathes.
Still, she doesn’t resist the urge to gingerly brush his fringe back. Dirt cakes his forehead and cheek, but that isn’t what makes her freeze. His frown is gone.
And it reminds her again of how vulnerable her friend is right now. The blood dying his hair red at the back and making the spike sticky doesn’t help either; it was so rare he got wounded like this. Without the poised stance, the deep frown, and the icy gaze, he looks younger. Like he doesn’t belong in the uniform he’s worn for decades. As though he should be back in the Rukongai with his Granny.
She smiles sadly at the thought and careful withdraws her hand. They’d both been young when they’d been accepted into the Academy, but Toshiro’s age became a factor many couldn’t overlook. It only added to his status as a prodigy. He couldn’t ever escape it, whether it was those admiring him for having achieved so much at such a young age, or even when with her whenever she called him ‘Shiro-chan’. She’d never meant it to demean him or show she saw him as only a boy, it was a habit. A tie to the past she always had.
It's been a constant, like him.
And despite herself and the dire situation they’re in, she wonders why she had always expected him to follow her. She’d told herself it was because she recognized his spiritual potential when he expressed being hungry as though it weren’t an odd occurrence for a Soul.
‘Anyone who experiences hunger can become a Shinigami’, she’d been told by other children in Junrinan. When she realized that included herself, she couldn’t have been more happier. It was a naïve thought at the time - especially after she discovered there were Souls in the lower districts who never had their hunger satiated without having to do some awful things to get food – but she could fulfill her dream of becoming a Shinigami and enroll in Academy.
She’d imagine her life there, dressing in the Academy’s uniform and going to all the classes, learning how to cast kido and training with wooden swords and making friends who also had spiritual potential like her.
At some point in her imaginings, Toshiro appeared in the background, then as part of her everday life at the Academy. He’d in a year behind her, studying just as furiously as she. Unlike her, he’d complain often about the adults that taught to classes and would probably excel in the zanjutsu training; she had no basis for the latter, just a gut feeling. She’d hope he’d make friends, but never in her imaginings could she see him with others. He’d be alone, and the thought saddened her enough to imagine even more unrealistic scenarios where they took classes together along with her other friends so he wouldn’t be alone.
She liked the idea of him being there, of seeing him and talking to him about classes and Shinigami-related matters. Even when he’d adamantly refused to ever go to the Academy, she knew – no, she always hoped – he would change his mind.
Her thoughts as disrupted by a groan. Toshiro barely moves, but he’s undoubtedly coming back to consciousness.
“Shiro-chan,” she says, voice still hoarse.
His eyelids scrunch up for a moment, then blink open. His gaze his hazy, trying to coming into focus. Momo shifts so she can lean her head closer to his. “Shiro-chan, can you hear me?”
His brows furrow in confusion. “Hina…mo…” With another groan, he angles his head upward.
Her surprise gives way to alarm. “No, don’t move!”
He doesn’t listen, raising his head from the ground to look at her. He goes rigid with a wince and he falls back to the ground.
Momo quickly checks the ice over his head wound and let’s out a relieved sigh that it hadn’t cracked. Still, it hurts her to see him in this much pain.
“You need to stay still,” she advises while checking his other wounds. “I’m sorry, I couldn’t heal your wounds. If you move, you’ll start to bleed again.”
His gaze is clearer, and without having to say anything, she knows he understands. "Where...?"
Momo recounts to him what happened on the battlefield, when she saw him thrown aside by the Hollow, and then her discovery of him and confrontation with the Hollows.
He eyes her from head to toe after the latter. Is he checking for injuries? Typical of him, to worry about her even when he's like this.
She's suddenly thankful she's seated in such a way that he can't see the tear in the side of her uniform and the wound beneath it. Even if it's mainly just bruising, he would likely make a bigger deal out of it than it needed to be.
She waves her hand in reassurance. "I'm okay, I wasn't hurt by them." She leans away and points to the hole above. “I’ve put up barriers in case the Hollows find us, but we’re safe for now. Hopefully Captain Hirako or Rangiku-san find us soon.”
Toshiro lowers his gaze to the ground, his lashes brushing over his cheeks. A resignation, accepting he can’t do anything and has to wait.
Momo is about to offer what little words she can, but Toshiro’s frown deepens. His hand under Hyourinmaru twitches. He’s trying to move his fingers to curl around the zanpakuto’s hilt, but judging from his scowl, he’s barely able to move. Momo only then notices his nails are blue and his skin is so pale she can see most of the veins in his arms. She’d barely touched him before, but now wonders how cold he is right now.
He heart tightens at watching him trying to hold Hyourinmaru. He may have resigned to waiting for help, but she can understand if holding on to Hyourinmaru would comfort him.
She slowly reaches over to his, giving him time to see her action. He’s too focused though, and he lets out a gasp when her hands help to curl his fingers. Indeed he’s freezing, perhaps the coldest his hands have ever been. She will ask him later, but for now she chalks the lower temperature to not being conscious to reign in Hyourinmaru’s abilities.
Despite the cold, she’s gentle and unhurried, making sure to not disturb the sheen of ice encasing a scrap on the back of his hand. Her face burns knowing Toshiro is watching her wide-eyed.
She still doesn’t meet his gaze even when she has curled his fingers around Hyourinmaru. No, her eyes are glued to her trembling, peachy hands over his still, pale one. It’s that vulnerability again, of having to do this for him when he couldn’t do it himself. It’s the paleness and cold of his skin. It’s the callouses he had built up over the years. It knowing that she knew this hand since they were children.
It's a young person’s hand, one that has done many things. Its reached out to help, it’s gripped a sword in too many battle, it’s bled and scarred over, and it’s held her. It’s not the first time she wonders if they were too young to become Shinigami, if either she or Toshiro should’ve waited until they were adults before going to the Academy. She knows residents in the Junrinan around their ages living more peaceful lives, their hands softer and their minds not filled with memories of blood and battle.
Why had he chosen to go to the Academy? He’d been so stubborn about not going, and then with little explanation, he enrolled.
It's then she meets his eyes. That determination has returned, but it softens at her gaze. She can tell he wonders what she’s thinking. For whatever reason, she smiles.
She had been delighted back then’ now they could fulfill all of her daydreams in one or another. If only she knew what came after, then maybe she’d try to convince him to leave an re-enroll decades down the track.
It can’t be helped now. They both knew and experienced things that couldn’t be taken back. But they had each other despite it all. No, she realizes, through it all.
She stays like that with him until Rangiku and a few other officers arrives several minutes later. Her hands are stiff and cold when she pulls them to deactivated the all the barriers. Gradually, the flames of Tobiume warm her fingers up.
She doesn’t leave the cave when the Fourth Division officer jump in to examine Toshiro. An officer tends to the wound in her side, but she watches the other medics tend to Toshiro. They heal his wounds as best they can before getting him on to a stretcher. As they deliberate how to transport him out of the cave, Toshiro watches her in return.
It’s only then she realizes the last of the cold had disappeared in her hands, and she misses it.

Here's my entry for the @hitsuhina-week exchange! It didnt exactly get to where I wanted to go with the fic, but I hope you like it @mercurialwitch !
------------------
After the battle against the Quincys, Momo Hinamori started having nightmares from time to time. At first she didn't exactly worry, as she sometimes still had them from Fake Karakura.
Her new dreams sampled a lot from the latest war. She still felt the rubble on her body, the blood hot on her face, her Captain unconscious over her shoulders and a cold presence over her head. A cold so menacing that would make even the strongest soldier quiver, but not her. Toshiro's coldness was something that had never scared her, his stoic way of being was so familiar that it had become a home.
A home she had taken for granted.
It had taken time, understanding Aizen's betrayal and healing her broken and confused heart. She had worked hard to get better. She had help along the way. Her friends were real, patient and kind. Rangiku had kept her updated on Toshiro. Oh, Toshiro. He was busy training to perfect his bankai. He didn't mention anything because he didn't want to worry her. Momo tried to respect his wishes and watch him from afar.
But she also see that he was tired. Stubborn Shiro had always been like that, pushing and pushing until he did better and then trying to hide it and make it seem like it was effortless. It pained her that he hid his suffering, especially from her. They used to know each other inside out, barriers only on appearance. She could see past his frown and he could see past her smile. She could see that he was not really angry and he could see that she was not really cheerful. Aizen had tried breaking that and for a while, she walked closely along to the fine line between loyalty and blindness. But even in her worst moment, her blatant disbelief in Shiro's supposed betrayal to Soul Society made her question what the man had written. She had to balance what was her duty with her heart and it became impossible to fall into a side.
She knew Shiro had worried to insanity until she got better. And when she got better, he never stopped worrying.
Momo knew that he followed her recovery closely and that made her want to recover faster. While healing she started training again until she was confident enough in her abilities to use them once more and when she did, she continued training to perfect them. Knowing Toshiro was giving his body and soul to get better motivated her and gave her strength to continue.
However, there was something in all these experiences that kept her uneasy. The restlessness had become so evident on her that even laidback Captain Hirako looked at her funny.
So that night she had decided to do something about it. She had decided to reach out to her refuge, to the person who had constantly stayed by her side, no matter what the circumstances may be. While walking, she reflected on her best friend. She didn't want to be a bother. It was late.
But she needed to see him.
She needed to talk to him.
The small lieutenant reached Toshiro's private quarters and knocked down. Maybe it was better to go back. He valued sleep time and here she was disturbing it and for what? Some nightmares? Was she a little child? What about…
-Hinamori?
Momo looked up. There he was, surprised, hair down and sleep robes. Clearly just awoken.
-Oh! Shiro! Eh…sorry I woke you up, I… if it's not too much…can I enter?
Toshiro stared at her and waited. After a minute, he reacted and stepped aside quietly, nodding his head in welcome.
-What do you want at this hour? I can't help you if you wet the bed, we are not kids anymore.
Momo stayed silent. She looked down - I'm having nightmares again. Can we talk?
The boy frowned and sighed- I'll brew tea. Sit down.
She smiled weakly but relieved that he wasn't upset. Sitting down, she watched him make tea and thanked inwards for his patience.
-So? If you're here, you want to talk.
The girl looked up, wide-eyed - Sorry Shiro. I haven't been sleeping well… I just… needed company. Do you mind?
Toshiro crossed his arms and looked over her -It's fine. You should worry more about yourself. Your eyebags are showing again.
Momo drank and stared at the cup - I know - she said - I guess I'm still thinking about the war. About captain Hirako. About surviving - she stilled - About what would have happened if you collapsed after your bankai.
He frowned even more - Do you doubt my strength? I trained hard, you know.
-I know that -she looked him in the eye - I just can't stop worrying about what would have happened. What… what I would do if… how I'd react… I don't know if I could stand going through it.
-You'd be fine. You have survived through worse.
The girl shook her head quickly - I don't think so. I can't even begin to imagine… I see it every night and I can't stand it. You are very important to me, Shiro.
-Don't call me that, bed-wetter.
Momo snapped -I'm serious!
-I know. You… are important to me too, Hinamori. You have nightmares now but they'll go away, you are stronger than you think. Hirako told me you have been training.
-I have. Can't train these thoughts away, but I'm trying. I have been trying for a long time. I'm walking the path I longed for and I know you have been making a lot of effort too.- she finished her tea and set down the cup - Thank you. For being there for me, always.
Hitsugaya raised from his place and walked over to the open closet to take another futon and set it over, close to his.
-Let's catch up on sleep, come on.
Momo followed the white-haired boy, sat down and smiled at him - Toshiro.
He looked over at her and she smiled wider.
-Mhn?
-I'm not going to have bad dreams now. I'm never scared by your side, I know you'll always have my back.
Hitsugaya's mouth turned upwards just a bit and they locked eyes - Always - he slipped under the covers - Good night, Momo.
-Good night Shiro!
-...don't call me that.
-Sorry, Hitsugaya.
—-------------------
-Shiro?
-Mhn.
-Tomorrow can we go together to the wedding?
-We age going the same way, it's obvious we're going together.
-I know. But… You know.
-Yeah… let's go together.
Momo sighed happily - Yes!
—--------------------
-Are you ready? We're going to be late, bed-wetter.
-Almost! And stop that! I don't wet the bed anymore! I think I proved that by now!
Toshiro protested silently. She still has problems being on time, and now he got caught in it. Bah! He crossed his legs and waited.
-Ready to go!
He glanced at her and stilled. She was beautiful. Standing up, he closed his eyes and sighed - Well, let's go.
Momo caught up with him and grabbed his arm.
-Oi!- he said, embarrassed
-You look nice- she smiled brightly
Toshiro blushed and offered his arm for her to grab -Here, you are going to fall with those shoes so hold on.
-Yes!
----------------------------
-They look lovely, don't you think?
-Mnh.
-I would like to look like that on my wedding day.
Toshiro stood silent while they got in position to start the ceremony. While it progressed, Momo continued to hold his arm so he looked at her. He hadn't noticed, doing it out of habit. He looked back and the ceremony has reached the bonding. Ah. He looked back at her. Yes, Momo was crying. He smiled a little smile and stood tall, but relaxed, as the person who motivated his own progress cried, finally out of happiness. Toshiro looked back at the marrying couple and continued smiling softly, barely seen.
-Mnh?
Momo stopped watching her friends and looked over at Toshiro, who again looked back at her.
-...Shiro...- Between her joyful tears, she understood. And she smiled wider than ever. Yes, they would have each other, as long as they fought together. For eternity.
They held hands tightly against Toshiro's chest.
--------‐------‐------‐---‐----
As they approach the newlyweds to congratulate them, they notice the couple tense.
-Congratulations on your marriage Renji! You look beautiful Rukia!- Momo said, then looking over Toshiro's features softly- The ceremony was very emotional for us.
-Ch! Talk about yourself - calmly, without letting go of her arm, he crossed the other one and enclosed her hand with his with boldly- Congratulations to you both.-
-Don't be mean Shiro! I wish my own ceremony to be as nice as theirs!
-Shiro?
Renji and Rukia stilled. They knew Momo was close to the small captain and surely her being familiar with him and seemingly about to marry his brother... They looked at each other and smiled, Renji regarding his friend kindly.
-Well, I'm sure your wedding to Captain Hitsugaya's brother will be as lovely as can be, Momo.
Rukia excitedly added - Yes! We will help in any way we can! Anything for you and Captain Hitsugaya's older brother!
Momo looked confused and Toshiro frowned even more - What are you talking about?
The Abarais froze. What? But they had seen him! And Momo always mentioned that she was much better thanks to Hitsu...
-Aaah...! That time you meant the Captain was helping you! Forgive me Sir, I don't want to create discord among you and your brother!
Toshiro frowned even more, if possible- Abarai, I don't have any siblings.
- But...! Against Gerard! We saw him! We even greeted him! He looked very intimidating!
Momo laughed softly -Guys! That wasn't Shiro's brother! It's Shiro's bankai!
-Eh?
All was well.

Chapter 1:
In the year 2158, there was a war that completely destroyed the balance of the worlds. In the world of death, a world that was neither heaven or hell, just a limbo between life and rebirth, there was death filled the entire afterlife.
However, there was a 5'11 man standing, completely out of breath after pushing his exhausted body to finish off the remaining hollows. His hair was suppose to be snowy white and spiky but was stained half crimson and covered in brown. Crimson comes from his and his enemies blood. Brown from the dirt and dust of the battle. His eyes used to be turquoise, a bright amazing colour but they were now a dull, lifeless turquoise. Unlike his usual clothing which was a black Shihakusho with a white sleeveless hiaori, his clothes was completely different. A white open ruined jacket with a frozen collar and the ends of his sleeves are frozen. His pants were white and had holes in them, a black belt that barely stayed on his waist. His feet, which acted as shoes, were frozen to his shins. Although the colour of his clothes was suppose to be white, it's very obvious that they turn a greyish red colour from the dirt and blood. His tanned skin was also cut and bruised.
This man was the Tenth Division's taichou, Toshiro Hitsugaya. He was a child prodigy and the youngest taichou in history. He is the sole survivour in the entire three worlds. Shaking in pain, he walked over to a collapsed building and sat down. He looked down at his Zanpakuto, the strongest ice zanpakuto in history. "Hyorinmaru?" Toshiro coughed out. "Master..." He heard the dragon's voice, it was filled with worry. "This is the end, isn't it?" Hyorinmaru hummed in agreement. He didn't like the fact that his master was in so much pain and that the soul society, world of the living and hueco mundo was collapsing. Toshiro closed his eyes and relaxed his body, with some struggle, waiting for death to take him.
A hand brought him out of his acceptance darkness. He struggled to open his eyes and once the blurriness passed, Toshiro took in the appearance of the person in front of him.
A man was stood in front of him with his hand on Toshiro's forehead, using healing kido to heal Toshiro the best he can. He was very, very pale, but not sickly pale, just someone-who-hasn't-seen-the-sun-at-all pale. His hair was long and black, it reminded the taicho of the previous thirteenth division taicho, Jushiro Ukitake. The man was wearing, what looked to be, a standard Shinigami uniform. If it wasn't for the Reiatsu that the prodigy was sensing, he would've believed he was a survivor. The man's eyes interested Toshiro the most. They were blue, but a blue he's never seen. It's like he can see the sky in the man's eyes.
"W-Who are you?" Toshiro asked. The man smiled softly. "I'm the Soul King, don't worry, I'm not Yhwach, he's gone and I was left behind." He said, seeing Toshiro's shocked expression. "There's not enough time, Hitsugaya-taichou. The balance is destroyed with all the death that has happened and all the worlds are collapsing. I need to ask you a favour." Toshiro frowned hearing that but he had already figured that the worlds were collapsing. "What is it you need, sir?" The Soul King stood up and offered a hand to Toshiro. "Not here." Toshiro took the hand and stood up. It was a good thing as the building Toshiro was resting on collapsed again but this time, the floor beneath it collapsed and the building and floor disintegrate into the abyss. Toshiro's eyes widened. "Come with me." The king said. Toshiro nodded and the king teleported them to another realm.
The King and Toshiro had entered the Soul King Realm. Toshiro's eyes widened with the amount of destruction that was the realm. He couldn't even sense the noble members of Squad Zero. The King guided Toshiro to a part of the Soul King realm, that he had no idea existed. The King turned to Toshiro with a serious expression. "Hitsugaya-taichou, what I'm about to ask you is the upmost important thing that will need to be kept a secreteven in death, understand?" Toshiro nodded. "Yes sir." The king sighed softly before suddenly coughing violently making Toshiro catch him before he fell. "Your Majesty!"
"Hitsugaya-taichou, I need you to return to the past, way before you were born, before Aizen Sosuke became a Shinigami." Toshiro eyes widened at the words coming out the most powerful being's mouth. "Are you sure I'm the right person?" The king smiled tiredly. "I can't think of anyone else that would be the best person for this job." He shakily stood up straight and headed over to a doorway that looked broken. He turned over to Toshiro. "Hitsugaya-taichou, don't allow anyone to know you're from the future and make sure you murder Aizen before he becomes immortal." Toshiro's eyes narrowed as he nodded. "Understood my lord." Toshiro said.
The king's serious face melted into relief. "Thank you, Hitsugaya-taichou." He then snapped his fingers making the doorway light up. "There is no return, Hitsugaya-taichou." Toshiro then smirked. "I never expected to return once you told me about your plan." The king chuckled softly. "I'll be sealing a lot of your reiatsu away, so you'll have to train and wait for some time until it unlocks. Some require time while others will require training. Good luck, Hitsugaya Toshiro." Toshiro nodded in understandment and walked into the doorway.
The King watched the light from the doorway dimmed and it was no more. He turned around and watches as the worlds repair itself, slowly. "It's probably going to take centuries for the worlds to fully repair itself. Good luck, taichou." The king said to himself.
Toshiro woke up in a forest 200 years before he actually does in his original timeline and he arrived 50 years before Ichigo invaded the Soul society. He sits up from his laying-stomach position. By looking at his tiny hands, he quickly came to the dreadful conclusion that he was in his child-like body again. Toshiro shakily stands up and looks around his environment and notices the forest was familiar to him. ‘I think I’m in Junrinan.’ Toshiro thought to himself.
Once Toshiro managed to gain his balance, he dusted his green kimono that was quite similar to his kimono that he wore before meeting Rangiku. He ran his hand through his snowy white hair and slowly walked to Junrinan town. However, once Toshiro managed to get used to his small legs, his pace quickened.
The town was exactly the same as Toshiro remembered it being from his childhood. When he entered the town, many residents glanced at him and whispered to the other person. Toshiro already gathered what they’re talking about as he had already been through this before. He looked around, looking for the leader of the town without asking for help from the residents.
“Are you lost, young man?” An elderly voice spoke from behind Toshiro. Toshiro stopped walking and turned his body to the side to look at the elder who spoke to him. Toshiro instantly recognised her as his granny, just younger, but he knew he couldn’t call her that as they do not know each other and it would be disrespectful. Toshiro shook his head. “Not really. I’m looking for the elder of Junrinan.” Granny smiled at Toshiro and nodded. “Let me help you.” Toshiro’s eyes softened. “You don’t have to ma’am.” The woman just smiled. “I don’t but I want to. It doesn’t fit right with me if a young man such as yourself is wandering around lost.” Toshiro sighed softly, knowing he couldn’t argue with the woman he respects the most, even if she was from a different timeline. “Okay.” Toshiro said. The woman smiled and led Toshiro to the hut where the leader lives.
“I never got your name, young man.” Granny said, glancing at him at the corner of her eye. Toshiro turned to her slightly shocked, he never expected her to want to know his name as the way they met this time was much different than how they met originally. “My name is Toshiro Hitsugaya.” The woman smiled. “My name is Ayame Hinamori. It is lovely to meet you, Toshiro-kun.” Toshiro smiled lightly.
They soon got to the hut and Ayame knocked on the door. Soon the door opened to reveal another elder. The elder looked happy to see Ayame. “Ah! Ayame-san, how may I help you?” He asked, happily. Ayame smiled and looked at Toshiro. “This young man wanted to meet with you.” The elder looked at Toshiro, he was surprised by Toshiro’s colouring but he smiled and invited the two in but Ayame refused as she has things to do.
Toshiro found himself sitting in the large room in front of the firepit with a cup of green tea in his hands. “How may I help you, young man?” The elder asked kindly. Toshiro blew on his cup and frowned. “I was hoping to know the date and the events that are happening in the Seireitei. With Junrinan being right next to the Seireitei, I thought you, or at least someone, would know what will be happening.” The elder was surprised by Toshiro’s request. “I’m surprised that someone as young as you know what the Seireitei is. You look like you just arrived at the Soul Society.” Toshiro huffed softly and took a sip of his green tea. “I arrived a while ago and people do talk. One thing a lot of people believe is because I’m young, they think I just arrived at the Soul Society.” Toshiro half-lie to the elder. The elder blinked before chuckling a bit in embarrassment as he too believed that. “You are correct. As of right now, it is the year 1751.” Toshiro nodded. ‘204 years before my life as a human ended.’ Toshiro thought. ‘Which also means this is 250 years before everything goes to shit with Aizen.’ “I see. What about the Seireitei?” Toshiro asked. Elder hummed and drank some of his tea. “Not much is happening in the Seireitei. It’s just the same. Shinigamis defeat hollows and do what they usually do.” Toshiro nodded. “Thank you.” Toshiro said, drinking his tea. The elder then sighed. “The only problem that I’m aware of is dangerous.” Toshiro raised a brow. “Dangerous?” The elder nodded.
“Do you know a man called Koga Kuchiki?” asked the Elder. Toshiro knew the name from the Zanpakuto Rebellion, he was Byakuya Kuchiki’s uncle. “No, I've never heard of that name. Is he a noble?” Toshiro lied. The elder nodded. “Technically he’s not but he did marry into the family, so he is a noble but not blood-noble.” “Ah. So what is the deal with this Koga Kuchiki guy?” “Recently, he broke out of his prison and is now killing innocent Rukon citizens in other districts.” The elder sighed sadly, feeling sorry for the poor citizens that had been killed by a now insane Shinigami. Toshiro frowned, not liking what he heard. “That is not good.” “I agree.”
The two sat in silence until the elder spoke up again. “If you don’t mind me asking, young man, why did you want to know about the Seireitei? It couldn’t just be because people talk.” Toshiro smirked lightly. “I’m thinking of joining the Gotei 13 at some point.” The elder blinked in surprise. “Are you sure you want to? Even though you are much older than what you let on, I don’t think, with all due respect, they’ll allow someone as young as you to join the academy.” Toshiro shrugged. “Trust me, with what I have planned, they won’t have no choice but to let me join the Shin O Academy.” The Elder sighed. “I see. Well, good luck.” Toshiro nodded. “Thank you for the information, sir.” The elder smiled and nodded. “No problem, young man.”
After Toshiro finished his drink, he left the hut and walked away from the hut and town. He went back into the forest and sat down under a tree in a meditation position. He concentrated and went into his mindscape.
Toshiro opened his eyes and saw the familiar ice plane and snow covered ground. He could even see the tall mountains in the distance as well as the frozen lake nearby him. Toshiro stood up and noticed that he was in his adult form. “So, in my mindscape I’m in my adult form while in the outside world, I’m in my child form.”
A huge gust of cold wind brushed against him as well as a shadow covering his entire being and a lot of the ground. Toshiro looked behind him and saw the other half of his soul. Toshiro smiled at the dragon. “The king did say that your powers would be sealed and you were always put into your child form due to your power being too powerful for your soul to handle until you were able to master it, even if it expanded every day.” “That is true. How are you, Hyorinmaru?” “I am fine. It feels strange not being able to communicate with you without you being in your mindscape.” “It does feel like I have a hole in my heart but as long as I can communicate with you, even if I have to meditate.” Toshiro grinned. Hyorinmaru rumbled in amusement. “Master, what is the plan right now?” Toshiro hummed in thought. “I want to get training, even if I have to start with the basics. It’s not the first time I had to go into the basics.” Toshiro stated. Hyorinmaru nodded. “That seems like a good plan, master. The quicker you train, the quicker I am in your hands.” Stated Hyorinmaru, making Toshiro laugh.
Toshiro went back into the real world and started training himself. He started with basic exercises and to see how much Reiatsu he has. He has the same amount of Reiatsu that he had when he met Rangiku. “Looks like my reiatsu is the same from when I started as an academy student.” Toshiro stated to himself and put himself through harsh training with a lot of the basics he remembers from the academy but more challenging.
It takes him weeks to gain the power he had as a third seat but the good part was that he had his Zanpakuto in his hands again. While taking a break, Toshiro heard a rustle of bushes and a stick snapping very close to him. Toshiro narrowed his eyes and his eyes stared at the location he heard the noises from without moving a muscle.
Suddenly, a blade was aimed at him and Toshiro rolled out of the way just in time as the blade sliced the grass. Toshiro got up on his feet and saw a well-toned man with piercing green eyes, shoulder-length black hair, and a long ponytail of red hair, with bangs hanging on the right side of his face to frame it. The one thing that caught Toshiro’s attention was that the man is wearing a Shihakusho.
Toshiro’s eyes narrowed. ‘A Shinigami. So this must be the infamous Koga Kuchiki.’ Toshiro glared at Koga. “Can I help you, Shinigami?” Koga scowled. “You can help me by dying, boy.” Toshiro frowned. “I can’t help you then.” He said, rolling his eyes. ‘Kuchiki did say that this man was cocky but I didn’t think it would be this much.’
Koga gripped his Zanpakuto tightly and dashed over to Toshiro, thinking that Toshiro would not be a problem. However, Toshiro waited for Koga to get close to him before raising his hand towards the insane Shinigami, also taking notice of the two massive Reiatsus drawing near. He points a finger at Koga before saying: “Raimei no basha, itoguruma no kangeki, hikari mote kore o mutsu ni wakatsu, Bakudo #61; Rikujokoro.” Toshiro inchanted and light beams had soon trapped Koga. Very soon after Koga was trapped, the two people that were drawing near had arrived. Koga glared at Toshiro. “How does some Rukon brat like yourself now a high kido?” He growled out, struggling to get out. Toshiro just stared at Koga with no emotion before smirking. “That’s for me to know and for you to never find out as I believe your hunters have arrived.” Before Koga demanded Toshiro to explain what he means, he sees Toshiro pointing at the two people.
Koga looked over at where Toshiro was pointing at and his eyes widened seeing the Soutaichou, Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto, and his father in-law, Ginrei Kuchiki. “Koga.” said Ginrei. Koga scowled. Toshiro stretched and walked over to his zanpakuto and picked it up. He walked behind a tree and let the two captains deal with Koga.
Once they managed to seal Koga, Toshiro let his kido down. He tied his Zanpakuto around his back and started to walk away. Yamamoto looked at Toshiro. “Young man.” He called out to Toshiro. Toshiro stopped walking and turned his head to Yamamoto, his eyes blinking confusingly. “Yes?” “What’s your name?” “Toshiro Hitsugaya.” Yamamoto was quiet for a few seconds. “How do you know kido?” Toshiro turned his body round to show Yamamoto that he had his fall attention. “I saw someone use it before and I just wanted to see if I could do it, so I tried it out.” Toshiro stated, even though he was lying. Yamamoto just stared at Toshiro with his eyes closed before his attention draws to Toshiro’s Zanpakuto. “That blade-” “My Zanpakuto.” Toshiro interrupted him. That caught Yamamoto’s attention. “Your Zanpakuto? I find it hard to believe.” Toshiro grinned and shrugged. “You can believe it or not but this is my soul and partner.” He said, tapping the hilt at the end. The two stared at each other for a few minutes without any sound.
Soon Ginrei appeared and saw the two staring at each other. “Yamamoto-Soutaichou.” Ginrei announced his presense. “Kuchiki-Taichou.” Yamamoto acknowledges his presense. Toshiro’s eyes traveled to Ginrei, taking in his appearance. Ginrei notices Toshiro’s staring at him and stares back. “Thank you for your help.” He says. Toshiro looked up at him in surprise. He never expected a Kuchiki to thank a peasant such as himself. “Y-You’re welcome.” Toshiro stumbles over his words. “Soutaichou.” Ginrei said. Yamamoto nodded. “I agree.” Toshiro deadpan. ‘How are these two communicating?!’ Toshiro screams in his mind, he could hear Hyorinmaru laugh in the back of his mind.
“Hitsugaya.” Ginrei said, gaining Toshiro’s attention. “Yes, Kuchiki-Taichou?” Ginrei crossed his arms. “How do you feel about joining the Shin O Academy?” Toshiro blinked in surprise, not expecting that. “With your Reiatsu and your easy-to-pick-up kido technquies, even the fact that you have a Zanpakuto.” Ginrei explained. Toshiro lightly huffed and nodded with a small smile. “It would be an honour to join to the Gotei 13.” Yamamoto nodded. “Kuchiki-Taichou will sort out your documents to join and the academy starts in 3 weeks. Good luck.” That was all Yamamoto said as he walked away.

A hot summer at the Soul Society appeared unexpectedly to boil every soul and Shinigami. It was especially painful for those whom Zanpakuto were based on ice, and because of that, Captain Toshiro Hitsugaya would bury himself inside a bathtub filled with ice. But things came out of control when some Zanpakuto remembered those times they were a little “rebellious”…
“Master, I’m melting” Hyōrinmaru says, manifesting right in front of Toshiro who blushes because he is almost naked in front of his own sword’s soul. “Uh! Uh- Hyōrinmaru!” the white-haired pal screams trying to reach for the towel hanging next to him.
Such shout alerted you, as one of the 10th Squad Officer of the Gotei 13 you have to take care of your captain safety. “Captain? Are you alright?” you ask on the other side of the room. Squad tenth walls are kind of thin so you can hear everything.
Not even 10 seconds after, the doors opened, and like a snowstorm Hyōrinmaru followed by Toshiro passed running. “Come back here!!!” “No, I’m gonna stop the heat!!!”
You stand there, gawking. Is that Captain Toshiro wearing just shorts, running behind his manifested Zanpakuto throwing a tantrum because it’s hot? Yes. Yes, it is.
You run after them, searching for your vice-captain, Matsumoto Rangiku. But, as always, she isn’t there. Then, it’s time for you, the third place to help him. You grab his Shihakusho and try to find him.
After wandering around the whole Gotei 13 and stopping by the Kuchiki manor, where you learned Rukia was also running after Sode no Shirayuki you finally met your captain.
Right around one of the corners of the many houses of the Seireitei, Toshiro and you bump into each other. Both hit each other’s foreheads and fall back, creating the perfect moment for Hyōrinmaru to finally run away from you two.
“Ahhh…. Officer!” Toshiro scolds you, rubbing his forehead. “I’m so sorry, Captain. I- I brought you your clothes” you tell him, maybe that would make him forget about the pain. His intense icy blue eyes shine when you mention his clothes and quickly stands up lending you a hand to do the same.
He inspects you to see if you were hurt in silence, and the proximity of his cold hands to your forehead makes you shiver. And it’s not because it was cold, but because Toshiro Hitsugaya is your crush. Man you adore, man you admire, man you lust for.
But he has never seen you as anything but a subordinate from his squad…
You give him his Shihakusho, and he quickly covers up. “Thank you, officer (Name)” he mumbles, perfectly tucking the sash around his tiny waist. You can’t help but look at each and every single movement his hands perform and wish his fingers were interlocked with yours.
“Let’s go, Hyōrinmaru shouldn’t be far. He flew away towards the woods” he says, and without him giving you any order you follow him. That was enough for you to understand you were now on a mission.
Even if the sun was slowly setting, the heat of an abnormal summer would still be felt in your bodies and sweating and panting you ran to the Soul Society’s Woodland…
“I can’t believe I can’t still sense his reiatsu” Toshiro grunts, annoyed with the situation. He is frustrated and feels powerless once again before a rebellious Zanpakuto.
“It’s ok, Captain. Let’s get going. I’m sure we are going to find him” you tell him, maybe trying to sooth his anger.
Toshiro turns around and his icy stare lands on yours. It, paradoxically, begins burning holes into your eyes and you think you should shut your mouth from now on. But he surprises you. Instead of a scolding session, he simply sighs and sits down on the ground.
You instantly crunch next to him, maybe he isn’t feeling well because of the heat? “Taichou, are you ok?” you ask, rather desperately. He takes some time to look up at you, as now his head was hanging in between his knees.
“I- yes, (Name). I’m just tired… are you ok? Don’t you wanna rest a little?” he tells you, with a hint of exhaustion and stress in his words. You bite your lip; you simply wish he could have a least a day to rest but it isn’t up to you.
“I’m ok, Taichou. I can keep going for you, so you can rest” you say, offering yourself, even if your feet hurt and you feel as exhausted as him. “We are going together, (Name). By the way, thank you” he murmurs the last words.
You gasp, and your cheeks become heated. It’s not that Toshiro was rude with you or treat you badly before, but you never hear him say “thank you” to you. “Don’t thank me, Taichou! I’m always here for you” you confess.
Toshiro’s cheeks once again tint into cherry colour, so red and flustered. He has been always a little more forgiving when it comes to you, but you just thought that he treats you this way because of you not being as strong as him. But was it really because of it?
The uncomfortable silence that filled the humid hot air around you soon breaks. Toshiro stands up and trying to avoid your eyes he commands to keep walking. As the sun sets, the night comes and it’s better to rush to find his Zanpakuto spirit. It isn’t really safe to be on such places during the night, and even if he is one of the strongest captains there is no need to expose yourself to evitable dangers.
But, Hyōrinmaru is nowhere to be found and just like the sun hours ago shined bright in the sky now the moon was taking its place. Your captain run up a little hill to take a better look at the valley under it. “I still can’t sense him, so he might be masking his reiatsu… where the hell are you?” he whispers.
The silvery rays of the satellite make Toshiro’s white hair shine in different hues of argentum lights, and the way his Shihakusho flows with the subtle humid breeze hypnotizes you. “Beautiful man…” you think, biting your lip.
A sudden explosion that felt fresh and then icy blew several kilometres from where you are. Black clouds surrounded the sky, and the temperature drops. From extreme heat, to extreme cold.
Snowflakes begin falling from the clouds, intensely, like a snowstorm. In the middle of the summer, of a so exotic hot summer. An icy miracle… You shiver, the summer uniform isn’t enough to cover you and the cold creeps into your bones like stinging blades.
Your captain comes running down the little hill to check on you after the “icy explosion”. “Oi, (Name). Are you ok? Are you hurt?” he asks, suddenly and quickly grabbing your forearm.
“Y-es, Captain. What was that? Why is it snowing?” you ask, confused and evaluating some of the possibilities of why there was a snowstorm all of the sudden.
Toshiro sighs, because he knows too well why this is happening. “Hyōrinmaru, and probably Sode no Shirayuki have created this storm… my Zanpakuto has that ability” he informs you, and you quickly remember that time when he fought against Hallibel.
He seemed to be putting up with the cold pretty well, but you feel like dying of hypothermia shortly. Your teeth chatter, and your skin becomes bumpy all over. Even if you wanted to act like you were ok, you can’t.
And Toshiro notices it.
“Come here, you are gonna freeze” he says and surrounds you with his embrace. He hugs you, so all of the sudden and beautifully you aren’t even aware of this not being a dream. You inhale his scent as your nose gets pressed into the crook of his neck. He smells clean, like freshly out of the shower, and that sends you to heaven.
You are absolutely stunned to speak; you can’t pronounce any word. In fact, you don’t want to. You don’t want to break the hug; you want it to be eternal. Cold or not, you don’t care. If you were to die there, you would do it so happily.
But the storm gets even more intense, surrounded by white gusts of wind you can’t even see pass a few meters. You can sense Toshiro’s reiatsu growing, half annoyed, half understanding he needs to protect you.
“Let’s find shelter” he says, and when he does you realize he has aged just enough to show you his real form. He looks now like a young man, leaving aside his sweet childish façade to more sharp features.
“C-captain” you mumble, amazed by his change. “Heh, don’t be afraid. I just happened to age a little” he says, smirking and killing you with such beautiful gesture.
You let him take you somewhere else. Using his shunpo both of you quickly appear under a little cave the rocks have formed on one of the hills. At least you are covered from the high winds, and as much as he knew he could come back without any problem, he knew he couldn’t leave you alone. Not every person is an ice dragon.
“I should apologize for my Zanpakuto’s behaviour” he says, mortified and looking outside with burning eyes. He is gonna punish Hyōrinmaru… “It’s ok captain, they were probably suffering” you say in between the sounds of your teeth hitting with each other.
Toshiro uses kido to light some flames, even if the winds were enough to turn it off at any moment. He comes closer and sits right next to you. “Come here, you need to warm up” he says, and opens his arms waiting for you to fall over his chest.
You widen your eyes, isn’t he supposed to do something to stop the snow? Why is he asking you to hug him? His Shihakusho now is opened as he has grown and is unable to cover him up entirely.
“Oi, come on. You are gonna die if you don’t do it” he urges you.
“Of course, Toshiro just wants to save my life… this isn’t a romantic situat-“
He suddenly pulls you closer, once again you land over his chest, and his arms snake around your back. Your thoughts were cut short as he squeezes you tightly against his body.
“There, let’s stay like this. He is gonna get tired soon. You are right, Hyōrinmaru was suffering. The moment he feels better with the temperature he will stop. I can’t leave you here on your own, so I prefer to wait and when the climate conditions get better, we will come back, ok?”
“Y-yes, Taichou…” you moan, smiling against his bare chest. Even if he is almost made out of ice, his skin feels warm, warm and like home… After all, and maybe just for some time you will be on the arms of the man that you love.
Some time passes, and both of you, with reddish cold noses look at the sky from inside the little shelter. As if Hyōrinmaru was doing this on purpose, the clouds never covered the moon, and the snowflakes reflect such beautiful light on them. It feels magical and romantic, a fantasy, like fiction, like a romance novel.
“Thank you, Taichou. You shouldn’t hold back for me” you mumble, feeling perhaps like a burden to him. “I shouldn’t… but I want to. I want to protect you, (Name)” he says after clearing his throat, with his icy eyes fixed on the moon. His hand caresses your back up and down and you can’t stop yourself from looking up at his face.
His sharp jaw, his white hair…
Toshiro looked down at you when he noticed your insistent stare. “You don’t believe me?” he asks you, maybe a little troubled as he thinks you aren’t buying the “I want to protect you” part.
“Is not that, Captain… I- I-“ you stutter, maybe if you confess your feelings for him you will be kicked out of the squad… or he will reject you.
But, completely contrary to what you think Toshiro would ever do, he didn’t let you keep trying to say the words he already knew, and instead he planted a sweet peck on the tip of your nose.
“I really, really want to protect you” he whispers, getting closer to your lips. Lips you accept, melting in the sweetest, most warming kiss you have ever experienced in your life… 💖 ~

ㅡFleeting Touch
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
✑Yow yow, everyone (◕ᗜ◕✿)! This is just a pure indulgent time for me. I'm actually watching Bleach right now since I have free two days and I'm gonna use that time to binge-watch and if I can, open the request box. it's been a while, after all (◕▽◕✿). Moving on, I hope that some of you will enjoy this small drabble with our 10th Division Captain, Hitsugaya Toshiro!
Tumblr media
“Ouch!” you winced in pain, the wrinkles around your eyebrows disappeared quickly as your e/c eyes caught the astonishment in your significant other’s face. A pang of guilt hits your heart. You know he didn’t really mean to be so rough with you. To divert his attention, your lips formed into a teasing grin, “Be gentle, will you?”
“It’s not my fault that a certain someone is reckless.” Toshiro’s frown remained in his youthful face as he continued to treat the wound in your arm with unlikely gentlenessㅡdifferent from his touch earlier. You watch him wrap the bandage to cover your wound. “Don’t make a fuss if you’re in pain.”
“Aw, come on. Don’t scold me.” You smiled. Toshiro stood up, bringing the medical kit with him and hid it in its proper place. “It’s just a small scratch.”
“A long, deep cut is not just a small scratch, Y/N.”
“Now, now. The rookie is still clumsy in using the sword.”
“Well, that rookie better prepare himself.”
“Shush, calm down.” You cup his face and caress his cheeks softly. Panic, regret and especially angerㅡtowards himself for not noticing the danger near him and not protecting you enough. It was because he lowered his guard while taking a walk with you. He should have known that he couldn't afford to have the leisure time toㅡhis racing thoughts were interrupted when he felt you squish his cheeks causing his entire face to burn in embarrassment yet he made no move to chastise you. Even if his seemingly free-spirited lieutenant will barge the room and poke fun at him later, he can just think about that problem after this. He closed his eyes and sighs at the comforting warmth of your hands. For now, he will just relish these rare moments where he can be alone with you.

How would the captains react to catching their partner cheating on them? I’m feeling angst tonight
Finally some good fucking food. Angst; it’s what’s for dinner and I’m chowing down with you, anon.
Features: angst. Some violence and torture with Gin and Mayuri.
How The Original Captains React To Being Cheated On:
Genryusai Yamamoto:
There’s little to no reaction. You wouldn’t be the first and won’t be the last to use him for status or money or petty bragging rights. Just another day.
Quietly, behind closed doors, he does mourn. Not for the loss of you, but for the prospect of starting again. He caresses the pretty things he’s bought you, each touch a vote for or against bothering.
If you come to him, apologetic and willing to repent, he’ll look past the transgression. Less work for him to undertake, in the end, and the power of demanding this is that in the name of forgiveness suits him.
Shunsui Kyoraku:
He can’t help but laugh. All those years chasing girls and washing his hands of the consequences come to catch him now that he’s standing still with just one hand holding his.
Business goes on as usual, but he’s sloppier around the edges—spilling sake on paper work, falling asleep against Jushiro’s grave, and forsaking the frequent partying he’s known for in lieu of furiously scribbling down the perfect love story he didn’t get.
Honestly, he’s willing to forgive if it wasn’t done out of love for the other person and there’s a willingness to work on the relationship. Shunsui has played the unfaithful lover more times than he can remember; being black out drunk more often than sober will do that to you.
Soi Fon:
She can’t speak and doesn’t bother. Throat closed with anger, she lets her body tell you where your relationship lies—thrown off the bed and kicked outside.
There’s nothing but hatred for you and humiliation for herself. Not just personally, but professionally; a leader of the 2nd division being caught unawares is irony at the cost of her reputation.
People are always leaving her behind once she trusts them. After weeks, she’ll ask you why. Because that’s always the question burning in her chest. Why can’t she be a person someone stays for.
Gin Ichimaru:
Cute, how you think you can shuffle off and away from him after getting caught. He doesn’t flinch, talking with conversational tones. Hey, sweetie, who’s your little friend? Aww, they don’t talk or some thin’?
There’s two options; submit to grueling public humiliation or die. Gin loves to have fun, after all. And, isn’t it fun having to watch the person you cheated with get toyed with like a mouse under kitty claws? Aren’t you having fun kissing the corpse? Wasn’t your silly mistake worth it?
Gin has never forgiven, forgotten, or turned down an opportunity to make someone who cares about him regret feeling so. Your life is hell and the jailor can’t decide whether to keep your head under boiling water or kill you. Fun!
Retsu Unohana:
The impulse to leave as the only one alive is temptation incarnate. She is firm, restrained, and digs into her cheeks until her teeth pop through.
She keeps waiting to calm, for the situation to become objective instead of the turmoil in her gut. Retsu is especially brusque with everyone while working, making every stitch job a painful one. Why is there always something. Why can’t all the change finally stick; why is she still glad to feel the pain so she can inflict it back?
The betrayal was the end and there’s years of coping methods that keep you from spilling your guts on a sword, but it feels like a very near thing to her. Professionally, she’s less kind, and your next set of wounds healed by the 4th get infected. Poor thing.
Sosuke Aizen:
As far as you know, he’s stricken with heartbreak and disappointment. His voice is a touch too loud when telling you off—others hear. And disapprove greatly. He asks any bystanders for their discretion towards his privacy, adding a tear or two for effect.
Your relationship being over matters little; dime a dozen are the people who’ll fall over themselves to be his. The audacity of treating him, your better, with such unfairness? Affects him like an itch under skin.
Of course, he forgives you. He makes a show of it and the number of people out for your unhappiness grows. How could you cheat on such a gracious, loving man? You are punished with little action from himself, the many shinigami who view him with starry-eyes doing their work without needing explicit instruction.
Byakuya Kuchiki:
There’s little to say or do outside of making it clear he wants you gone in a permanent way. Reaction is the thief of dignity, so he saves any emotion for when he’s alone.
Self flagellation is his favorite dessert and he is convinced the bitter taste reflects his character somehow. In a way, it speaks to his lack of care and dignity as a clan leader; what fully aware man could let this happen?
For you, there aren’t any chances let alone forgiveness. You’ve stung his pride in multiple ways and only social norms keep you from dying in a duel over it. But as a shinigami—as a captain—he has avenues to vent his vindication until he feels the crime has been payed for. Too bad for you that pride is worth it’s weight in gold for a Kuchiki.
Sajin Komamura:
He runs away from the situation as soon as possible. Of course you cheated on him; how foolish to think anyone would not. At least he knows now and can get back to his normal.
Being alone isn’t all bad. There’s more time for his pets, his company, and his training. Comforting, familiar, he can pretend this is how it always was. Just him, alone.
His lack of self-esteem outweighs his want for justice. It was unfair to subject anyone to…himself, anyway. He can’t blame you for wanting someone untouched by the curse of the beast.
Kaname Tosen:
There’s more anger than even you expect. Injustice in anything, especially something so personal, enrages him. But he has the self control and sense to only send you packing.
Still, it’s all he can think about. Better to be consumed by this than the glacial pace his better world is taking. You’re one of the people holding that goal back, he’s sure. He insists on a talk that’s really just a long, painful lecture.
People like you, who disregard what’s right, don’t deserve forgiveness and the upset within him darkens. Maybe there is a way you can make things right. They’re so close to perfecting the Arrancar and he’d like to see how you’ve contributed once his eyes open, finally able to see.
Toshiro Hitsugaya:
There aren’t any dramatics or punishments or even words to give you other than ‘goodbye’. He sees the break and he cuts it cleanly. There’s no need for anything else.
Largely he copes by doing what he always does—working, training, meditating. There are a few sips of alcohol and punches to his pillow, but you’re no longer someone he cares about. The ice has holed over the spot you took just fine.
You don’t exist to him anymore. If you try to apologize, his eyes will pass over you and he’ll remind you once before ignoring you again: He’s a captain and he’s closed the conversation and now he’s getting back to work. Goodbye.
Kenpachi Zaraki:
So you’re fucking somebody. Is that a big deal or something? Should he be hurt? Because all he can muster is annoyance.
And then he thinks about it. He lets it sink in that somebody was touching you while you’re his. Kenpachi understands the want to play, but isn’t love when someone is the best in your heart and only them? Like, strength but more fucking confusing.
He’s still undecided if there’s anything to forgive. He tells you to give it another go with him in the mix and likes the feeling better than walking in uninvited. So maybe it was just play…and maybe he’s more rough with you two than intended. But he leaves more content than he came, so he figures everything’s fine. He can always kill somebody later, once he’s figured it out for good.
Mayuri Kurotsuchi:
You’re knocked unconscious and so is the person you were in bed with. That’s the last you see of them or the world beyond one lab room.
Congratulations, you are now confined to a pill that is swallowed by gigai after gigai designed in your likeness. Isn’t he generous, letting you take part in his research still? Don’t you feel honored to still feel any part of his touch as he takes you apart somehow more painfully than the time before?
Because it is just research. He didn’t care about you enough to still feel enraged about it. This is purely out of principle, a logical response to your base actions. Don’t worry, it’s just forever.
Jushiro Ukitake:
The discovery is emotional and he struggles keep his dignity, especially when a coughing fit starts soon after. He can’t even tell you off without sickness leaking into the moment.
The spiral begins. You’re awful one moment and justified the next. He’s the victim, then the one who should’ve known. There was no good reason and then he coughs again and there’s one.
He could forgive you if you’re genuine and forthright with a reason that isn’t the weight which holds him under blankets or pushes blood past his lips. As long as the illness isn’t what poisoned the relationship, he could forgive you.

Man. . .I don’t want to come out and say something that might make others feel HURT, but since I’m being asked, I’m going to be honest. In truth, there’s a LOT of people who inspire me, fuck I could pull out a follower list probably 100+ strong of people who motivate, or inspire me, for a lot of different reasons. So, let’s go down a SMALL list, those who are probably the STRONGEST inspirations for me.
@zorkaya || Renata. Lord, I could talk about this absolute sweetheart so much. FIRST, Ren has been a dear friend of mine for years now. Really, it’s shocking how long, on and off sure, but unchangingly and unflinchingly, how long we’ve been friends. She’s seen me at my best, seen me at my worst, she’s fought for me in the past, she’s been there to help me through that DramaTM bullshit last year. She’s never let rumors, or false call outs, or the other bullshit fuck with our friendship. She’s been a darling, and I cherish her to death. Atop of that? She has one of the BEST OC’s around: seriously, Zarina is amazing, and always going to be in my top 3 favorite OC’s of all time. I love her writing. I love her...well, everything really.
@exrhlab || Languid, this guy is amazing. He’s the one who dragged me down this rabbit hole of pain and torment that is Arknights, and is one of my most common people you’ll see on my blog. Because he’s a great friend, and we genuinely both like to cause PAIN and TORMENT to our muses, and write both twisted, but also fulfilling stories. We chat constantly, and he’s just a great person.
@eraba-reta-unmei || Everi, this motherfucking girl. Man, she’s a total twerp sometimes. But I wouldn’t be here to this day if not for her. She’s gotten me through some DIFFICULT moments in my life, and is one of my closest friends I can ever ask for. We’ve been around together at this point for so long, and there’s days where we want to rip eachother apart (if you don’t hit that point with a friend, are you truly FRIENDS lets be real), but we always bounce back cause that’s our relationship. We suffer hell in League, we used to rp all the fucking time (which yknow we need to do more again hell yeah), we’re close.

@ryusxnka || OH BOY, is it more Caleb Love Hours? Well if anyone has been around this blog long enough, you all know I love my brother. That’s all there is to it: I’d not be here today without him. I wouldn’t even  be able to show my FACE on this site ever again if not for him, and god I love him to death. He’s amazing, okay? He’s OBSESSED with Toshiro Hitsugaya, of course, but he’s also just the best with him okay? His writing is spectacular, god, Caleb is literally HITSUGAYA INCARNATE. He’s super good hearted, he’s smart, he’s funny. He’s just a great brother, and I love him t o death, okay? I probably sound like a broken record, but it’s true.
@pcrdiseseekers || OH BOY, it’s JAZZY love hours! So let’s take a long trip down Memory Lane, cause fuck me, Jazz here is one of my OLDEST friends at this point. Hard to believe it too, cause I remember Jazz when she was but a weeeee Naoto Shirogane blog back in the day, far before her love for Multi-muses, and her love for Kyouko Kirigiri. God, back in the day, I used to be SO terrified of her. And we all know, and I can hear it now, ‘Wolf, buddy, you’re ALWAYS terrified of people!’ Well, I’ve gotten a lot better: someone literally had to GO TO JAZZ HERSELF and tell her, for us to first interact, it was that bad. (No, I didn’t even plan that, and goddddd, I was a fucking mess when they did.) And lo and behold, ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS FOREVER now, always someone I come back to, and cling to like she’s my own flesh and blood. Jazz, I love you to death. I truly do. And you are just absolutely spectacular. It’s hilarious how long we’ve known one another, and I don’t regret a single day: you’ve given me some of the BEST rps over the years as we FULLY TORE DOWN poor Kyouko into Kaneki’s queen, how Homura fell for Centipede, Kyouko studied Ichigo, Yang and Adam had their forbidden, ESTRANGED relationship. God, we’ve done so much over the years, and I look back on it all so many days nowadays and go ‘jeez, to relive it all again.’ Here’s to more years of good times, huh?
@shuanghe || Valkyrie. My big sister. My darling, sweet guardian practically. God...she’s my rock. My anchor. She’s so much to me, and another person I love with all my heart. Much like the people before me, she’s a great mix of Writing, and Personal feelings, who has been with me for many years now. And I truly am grateful to have her in my life.
Tumblr media
@sung56sun || Kianye, so little we’ve known one another now, and yet it feels like we’ve known eachother  for an eternity already. And it’s you, you specifically, who makes me feel it’s OKAY to gush about my darling muses. I won’t lie, even on my own blog, I feel I talk too much about my OWN characters, and it’s you who makes me think on that, and go ‘stop that, you’re being dumb’. Others have tried to tell me the same, but it’s the constant FERVENT LOVE and ATTENTION you throw us, that truly make it hit home. And for that, I’m forever grateful for how much you love Akame, and, incidentally, how well we get along. You’re dear to me, and you’re stuck with us~
@bonesugar || Asa, Asa Asa Asa, such a darling you are. Your writing, your descriptions of your replies, the way you make such a BEAUTIFUL girl like Sucrose so endearing, so amazing, I truly admire. Just like Kianye, I’ve known you for so little, and yet I have adored every moment we talk. And I look forward to more and more in the future of us chatting, rping, and gaming together.
@erobret || Ferrrrrrgie. Oh man, much like Jazzy, I’ve known Fergie for fucking years. It’s hilarious how long we’ve known one another, and just like Jazzy, she’s always been a fantastic friend. We lost touch for a while because I had to vanish for a bit, but then I found her again, and well. Reliving old memories, and rping again, is amazing. Chatting with Fergie is great, and just. Fergie is great, okay? I really can’t formulate the words without just reusing at this point more of what I’ve already said.
@jiingweii || Sophieeeeee. My dearest, my twisted friend. My soft and squishy marshmallow friend. My busy little friend. Even though we don’t talk as much anymore as life happens to the both of us, you are still DEAR to my heart, and I wish every day is wonderful to you. I love seeing you on my dash from all  your blogs, and you are a joy to see, and hear, from always. I truly would not have kept Akame all this time if not for you: it was you who put the most faith in my girl, who gave me the confidence to keep her going. And I am forever grateful for that. Because now she is my most loved, and used, muse, without a doubt.
Okay, this is going to get SUPER long if I don’t stop somewhere, so down below? Is a bunch of other people I could rant on about, but I don’t want to be typing a twenty five page ESSAY even though I could and flood the dash worse.
