I have Combine All My Hyperfixations - Past Or Present - Disease so i present to u a sonic danganronpa AU that i will probably never do anything with
Ivo Robotnik - ultimate roboticist. Still wants to rule the world. Thinks the entire school is beneath him, just a means to get a leg up in the world and advance his plans of world domination. Has a soft spot for Stone obviously. Hated him at first just like he hates everyone else, but stone wormed his way into his heart when he remained adamant in sticking beside him despite his constant beration. He'll never admit this though, all he says aloud is that stone is useful to him.
Aban Stone - not entirely sure about his talent, maybe ultimate secret agent. Thinks similarly to robotnik -- the entire school is beneath him -- but is a lot less obvious about it. He puts on a facade and is pleasant with his classmates and teachers. The only person he doesn't put up a facade with is Robotnik -- he genuinely likes him and thinks if anyone should rule the world, it should be Ivo. Basically designates himself the Ultimate Henchman once he comes to the school and meets Ivo. Waits on him hand and foot. Their classmates think theyre absolutely fucking bizarre. 'Yeah they're that weird couple whose kink is like world domimation or something?'
#team sonic can be there i just dont have much on them in my head because stobotnik is my brainrot rn#i know sonic would be the ultimate track star and knuckles would be the ultimate boxer#tails would be something relating to technology like the ultimate coder or something#ultimate go go gadget lmfao#stobotnik#idk maybe I'll get a drabble out about it eventually#if i was an artist i'd design their HPA uniforms but alas

The more I read about Babylonia, the more I realize the Romans were essentially copy-pasting a good 80% of their technology, enhanced by coinage and lightweight communication methods.
The Romans also loved stone more than the Babylonians. An abnormal amount. I say that as someone who loves rocks. They loved stonework.
#Babylonians saw clay available to be molded into any shape with the bonus of Brick and went ham. <- Advanced society.#Roman Empire 24/7 boys need to get on my level. /j /j#Free PhD question: Does the geology/geography of Roman masonry correspond with any metaphoric meaning?#I was trying not to ramble in the comments but it's late and I'm tired and my mind is revolving with unanswered questions.#How much did Rome bounce off of Egypt instead of Babylonia? I want to say more than Babylonia because of that stonework#trend; but that makes more sense in regards to proximity to Egypt rather than cultural osmosis. Then again Greece is the trading partner in#the middle there and I'm heavily discounting their influence.#This is all very stupid musing anyway because I don't have a specific technology I'm tracking. I think I'm wondering about aqueducts#because I just learned that Babylonians used them frequently but I've never heard of the Egyptians doing the same.#This could be Egyptian anti-aqueduct bias tbh. Nobody cares about Egyptian technology except to build the pyramids.#You know what I could do tomorrow? I have a book on my shelf about the architecture of ancient megastructures my brother got#me for christmas and that would probably answer 90% of my questions.

how do tumblrs anti ai ppl feels about ai translation machines? about ai subtitles? are those acceptable uses of ai? if yes, what about translators?
is it only popular creative art fields that are protected under anti ai rage? are ai tools in photoshop or csp ok to use or do you have to disclose it? if yes, why?
like, there isn't an actual moral cohesion about this. the outrage steems primarily from loss of market/income - which is completely fair! i agree it fucking sucks! but that doesn't move people as much as saying ai has no soul or whatever to get them to support your cause
#like look im not even pro ai#im more of a you cannot hold technology back type of guy#even if you dislike it#like i fucking hate how everything tracks me everywhere online now#i hate how i need to put my id number and create an acc in every fucking website i try to purchase something#i hate that websites now force you to get a stupid app to see content#but there rlly isn't anything i can do#so im not wasting my time on this

I think Dinah/Electra is my unship. Not a NOTP I hate, just a dynamic where it’s fascinating to explore just how they DON’T fit. They’re just kind of incompatible in canon but it goes a lot deeper when you consider irl train context. I tend to picture Dinah as an older steam-heated dining car geared towards looong multi-day cross-country luxury trains, which goes hand in hand with a 30s-50s era diesel streamliner like Greaseball…. but is basically mutually exclusive with a semi-modern (70s-80s era) electric engine who barely had any overnight routes in their territory. There’s the likes of the Night Owl and that’s about it for the electrified northeast, and those trains usually had cafe/buffet type cars. Plus Electra would almost certainly have Head-End Power and be literally unable to keep Dinah warm at night, which is how I like to spin her being so fixated on whistling lol (Greaseball is old enough to definitely have a heating boiler for that use).
Electra is more oriented towards fast intercity service vs old-school land cruises and she’d get so aggravated by them starting/stopping so frequently and rapidly, rushing her on things that take time, and not appreciating the plusher finer touches of things. Meanwhile Electra would just go “plz no more” halfway through a five course meal, get annoyed when expected to be calm and pleasant and dutiful vs quick and efficient, and go ballistic at the idea of plodding along the rails that long and fussing with a so many formalities.
I think they’d have similar incompatibilities with most sleeping cars since a lot of them are either rooted in or directly from that era and philosophy. One of the reasons night trains became rare in Europe was faster daytime intercity trains taking their place. Buffy would be a solid partner though, canonically I think they both know exactly what they’re getting into (hot and cheap and quick), and some kind of snack/cafe/buffet car is bog standard on intercity trains.
#this post brought to you by: me watching videos of luxury sleepers and getting stressed out#“this luxury is lost on me and that is way too much food”#a cheap sleeping train would be an appealing option to a solo road trip though#i also weirdly like the swedish ones to the arctic that are more “hostels on wheels” than “fancy hotels on wheels”#plus they use amusingly dated equipment that just looks like it’s a night train to the arctic#headcanons#Stex electra#stex dinah#i think the swedish sleepers might be an okay compromise for electra later in life#pretty rural and lonely but more their philosophy and electric-hauled!#Swedish trains are fascinating because their conditions are vaguely similar to the US but with more progressive technology#spread out and with more twisty older tracks and freight traffic but mostly electrified
