Well, 'Melting' is a crack fic Transformers: Prime au my friend and I came up with regarding a character that's not in the show turning up and getting stuck with one of my favorites.

All platonic, we just thought it'd be a very funny combination of bots in a room.

I had a dream about batmobile-mom and sparklings in Transformers:prime and her taking one look at the sad feral cat that is TFP!Starscream and going "Ya...this is mine now."

To me, it's funnier because the Cat Distribution System is doing the Lord's work with overtime as it claims Starscream to send him straight to them since they're stranded with a crashed ship. (Not the Light Lost. It's actually a little ship meant for initial expeditions of a new planet or for research. Still capable of supporting a small crew up to eight.)

So it's less of "This is mine." and more of "Well, I got a cat. This is not my cat. I never had a cat in this ship. I guess, it's mine now."

Poor lonely Starscream coming across the Batmobile family during his time as a rogue and got kicked out of the Decepticon faction, and getting all of his protocols and coding screaming at him over them. Batmobile may be a tank, but they're fragging huge and strong with matte black shades and a powerful field and little ones that she's attentive to their care. Sure, she's not Seekerkin, but she basically has a lot of the really attractive traits of one.

He becomes an indoor-outdoor cat that's super skittish since his own frame-instincts is attempting to latch onto them. Batmobile is coaxing the guy with Energon, shower brushes, cute sparkling babble, and a research lab where the Liaison is actually attentive to what's he's doing. They may not understand the entirety but they do like listening to the guy.

Because his frame-instincts are super confused over Batmobile not completely the proper mannerisms of a Seekerkin femme accepting another mech in her space, it goes haywire by jumping between 'get closer until she finally makes a decision' and 'FLEE YOU IDIOTIC FOOL' since Seeker femmes tend to be violently territorial over their nests with little ones. She's not making the right behavioral cues that mean 'I have accepted you into my personal, private, and intimate space,' but she's making a lot of the 'you're a guest' and it overlaps with the 'I'm trying to get to know you.'

‘Megatron twirls his remaining sword, bringing it up to his other servo to inspect the edge for a moment before he drops it.

“I have to admit, I’m impressed you managed to execute that maneuver. It’s been aeons since I’ve faced an opponent with such an exciting level of tenacity.”

He swings his blade around in another flourished arc, ending with the tip pointing right at Optimus faceplates and his other servo spread far as if in invitation.

“Now then, let us see how long you can continue to hinder my efforts.”’

Every Broken (Spark) Survived

Just I small doodle sketch I did on the high of posting my latest oneshot. Also known as using my hyperfixation as a reason to practice more with artistic areas I’m uncomfy with, such as perspective extremes, and really just poses in general lol. I’m also still tuning myself in to Procreate as a program and attempting pieces directly on the app, as opposed to refining my physical sketches. Overall experimenting with my artstyle.

But yeah! The fic! As I mentioned in my notes, my poor brain has been leapfrogging between Transformers:Prime and Transformers:Animated for the past few weeks and it’s making it exceedingly difficult to focus on just one continuity. I’m trying to reign in my wild brainworms by permitting them the room to express themselves as needed.

Soooo, while I’m currently struggling with how to end my next chapter of Raise My Head, I decided to write this up. Based on a crazy idea I got at 3am. Overall premise is that Optimus secretly caught Megatron’s attention early on in the series, it’s just that Megatron does not permit showing anyone what he’s thinking. This is because A) strategic advantage of keeping the enemy confused and in this specific instance B) it’s funny to see how pissed off little Autobots get when you act dismissive towards them. Of course now Optimus has successfully done something that has the Decepticon Lord openly declaring his attention, maybe he should have tried a bit less hard…

Anyway! This is just a oneshot- for now! I already have a few comments asking about my ideas for if this little spinoff continues, or course that means I’ll have ANOTHER wip to tuck under my belt, but at this point I’ve given up on judging myself. It’s whatever makes me happy and does give my mental health good vibes. 🤷🏼

If someone wants to get into Transformers, where should they start? Also, who is your favorite Cybertronian?

Hmm. It really depends on what you favor for media.

I can offer several cartoon series that are good to get started with, including but not limited to Transformers:Prime, Transformers:Animated, and Transformers:Beast Wars, Transformers:Armada, let’s not forget Transformers:Generation 1.

Cartoon movie? Transformers:One, for sure.

The live action movies (Michael Bay produced) are not accurate depictions of the characters nor are they very widely regarded as any good, but can serve as a good jumping off point. Personally, Bumblebee (dir. Travis Knight) is my favorite in terms of live action.

Video games include War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron, and I think of them as two of the best pieces of Transformers media to ever be produced. I play them on Xbox 360 but I think they’re also available(?) elsewhere.

Comic books should wait until you have some sense of where you are, but More Than Meets the Eye/Lost Light are extremely good, complex, and heartbreaking. Read IDW Aligned (2005) first. Also, you can find those comics on readallcomics.com for free.

My favorite Cybertronian is Soundwave.

I haven’t exactly been quiet about it, but I don’t like Transformers:Prime. I think there’s some good or even great moments or ideas, but the whole package is just aggressively mediocre when it comes to transformers media.

My biggest issue has to be Optimus himself, because I really really hate the version of Optimus who is always stoic and never shows emotions. I’m definitely biased since my childhood show was G1, my dad got it for nostalgia and it really stuck with me when I watched it, and my favourite transformers show is Transformers Animated, but I feel like TFP Optimus is like a shadow of a character. Theres implications of his personality and other bots talk him up all the time, but in the show he just feels so hollow to me.

There’s other stuff I don’t like too, but TFP Optimus is my biggest issue. I’m more of a fan of the fandom version, because they actually have him emote and give him an interesting personality at times.

My other issues are more that the story’s pacing is poor, the characters are less interesting then previous incarnations (with a few exceptions), and I just generally don’t like how it’s talked up as this masterpiece which other transformers media is constantly compared to when it’s just…on the bad side of mediocre to me.

Now, to redeem myself a little, my favourite part of the show and the bit I genuinely love is Knockout and Breakdown. Not only did it establish one of my OTPs, but also outside of shipping their dynamic was so fun and I think the show drastically improved on both character’s personalities compared to previous incarnations (though to be fair G1 Knockout was so niche I’d be surprised if they even knew there was another one lol). I also just love seeing some of their fight scenes, the electric rod is a great weapon for Knockout and I love the dynamic of a strong and slower fighter paired with a smaller and faster partner.

Also, I’ll admit, the show does have some fantastic moments which makes me kind of understand why people like it.

So your Fractured Continuity fic is one of those infinite loop fics and you said in the notes that eventually you are/want to do a crossover with a different continuity or even franchise. What continuity or franchise are you really looking forward to do a crossover with? Transformers animated might be interesting as the Autobots there are very organic phobic while in tfone (if I'm remembering The Lore right) has organic/techno organic life that adapted to live on Cybertron's surface. There's also the g1 cartoon if you just want silliness. I'm not really sure what other fandoms you were/are in to make any guesses on that front tho lol.

i'm going to ATTEMPT crossing over to all ( if not most ) of the transformers continuities , but the one i'm looking forward to doing the most would probably be transformers:prime .

call me corny but it's the first transformers series i've ever watched , so despite transformers:ONE actually being the one getting me into the fandom , tfp has a special place in my heart forever and ever 👉👈

transformers g1 and animated were the second ones on my mind to do a crossover with !!! i want to do the mtmte comics and the other IDW ones but i haven't read them yet wahaha . here's to me learning lore through fanfiction ...
