Little Richard’s Early-’70s LPs to Get Reissue Treatment
- Expanded versions of the Rill Thing and King of Rock and Roll due Sept. 28
Little Richard’s first comeback is making a comeback.
Two of the late singer’s LP - 1970’s the Rill Thing and ’71’s King of Rock and Roll - will be reissued Sept. 18 with bonus material, new liner notes and more.
The former is expanded with the single-only “Shake a Hand (If You Can),” two radio spots and the radio edit of Richard’s version of the Beatles’ “I Saw Her Standing There.”
“He was at his peak with his vocals on there,” guitarist Travis Wammack said of the Rill Thing. “He was just singing his booty off!”
King of Rock and Roll found Richard, who died in May at 87, focusing more heavily on covers including tracks like the Rolling Stones’ “Brown Sugar,” Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Born on the Bayou,” Three Dog Night’s “Joy to the World,” Hank Williams’ “I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry” and a slew of Motown hits.
Bonus material includes instrumental takes of “Mississippi” and “Settin’ the Woods on Fire.”

Nashville’s country singer-songwriter, Lauren Duski is thrilled to announce her new debut EP, Midwestern Girl, to be released on February 20th. CLICK HERE to preorder the EP. When fans pre-order the EP, they will receive the two tracks already released, “Costume Party” and “Heart Hurt Good.”
Both tracks have received tons of press raves from Rolling Stone Country, People Mag, Billboard, TIME, and Ones To Watch just to name a few.
“Costume Party” was Lauren’s first debut single since her appearance on NBC’s The Voice where she finished up as runner up on Season 12. The video has taken off and has inspired her fans to make their own videos sharing their stories and vulnerability. Once Lauren saw the impact the song was making with her fans she wanted to combine all the videos together to make this touching music video. It charted in 13 countries and found it's placed at #43 on Spotify's US Viral chart. With no help from anyone but the connection to her fans.
The video for “Costume Party” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOw02ch8Pqk
Last year, Lauren Duski was inducted as  CMT’s Next Women of Country For the Class of 2019 that features Anna Vaus, Emily Hackett, Ingrid Andress, Lainey Wilson, Leah Turner, Rachel Wammack, Stephanie Quayle and Tenille Townes. “Next Women of Country” campaign is a campaign to support and expose developing female talent, both signed and unsigned, in a male-dominated format. The campaign showcases emerging female artists across all CMT screens throughout the year, and in five years since its launch, CMT has expanded the initiative to include five CMT NEXT WOMEN OF COUNTRY Tours, anchored by superstar acts including Jennifer Nettles, Martina McBride and Sara Evans, a CMT.com digital series, NEXT WOMEN OF COUNTRY LIVE, and more.
With a resume of experience dating back to a very young age, Lauren has developed into a multi-talented singer, songwriter, and performer. Originally from Gaylord, Michigan, she has been performing in front of audiences since the age of 7. Several local performances in her hometown led to many years of traveling across Northern Michigan with a band, performing classic country hits. Those shows allowed her the opportunity to open for acts including: Lonestar, Randy Travis, Confederate Railroad, and Bill Anderson.  She began songwriting in middle school after getting her first guitar. She started posting videos of original songs and covers on Youtube while in high school, gaining significant views worldwide. Later as a student at the University of Michigan, Lauren focused more on songwriting but managed to keep up with local performances opening for Gloriana and Thompson Square. She spent a few months in Chicago after graduation with opportunities to record original and commercial material, but Nashville became home in early 2014. Then Lauren appeared on Season 12 of the hit NBC show The Voice, finishing as runner up. Her sultry voice and heartfelt vocals helped her earn this honor, and she's looking forward all her new music in the coming months.
