What’s Your Type? A Reading List on Typefaces with Wild Tales to Tell

Follow Kanya Kanchana down the typeface rabbit hole! Today, she bring us a reading list of seven stories highlighting our love affair with typefaces. 

I found out early that I had a love for letters, scripts, and the art of making them. As a student of architecture involved in literary-type activities in college, I drew posters for years, made design drawings, read a lot, discovered a dubious ability to write in a great number of convincing hands, resisted putting it to criminal use, and stumbled upon a body of knowledge about type. I had caught the bug. I had fallen in love with Aldus Manutius, if not with Johannes Gutenberg. And when I became a programmer, I got to play with type. If it was good enough for Steve Jobs, it wasn’t perhaps all that mad.

yuji, the type to think about you all the time, he sees something that reminds him of you, that will just make him want to see you, right then and there :)

yuji, the type to have his whole bedroom wall filled with pictures of you, and him together, dates and stuff, just for the memories!

yuji, the type to have you as his pfp on all socials, even his wallpaper, lockscreen, putting in his bio “i love my gf”, which was cringe, but cute

yuji, the type to love telling you about his interest and everything about them.

yuji, the type to stay close to you while watching a movie, especially the horror ones, if it was human earth worm, he would be toooo into it to cuddle up with you, (no offense

yuji, the type to send you good morning, and goodnight texts.

yuji, the type to always talk about how his future will be with you

yuji, the type to take you to the movies, just to watch the same one over and over, just because he loved it the first time.

yuji, the type to ask you if you’re okay over and over when you get hurt, placing a gentle kiss on the cut, even tho it was just a small scratch

yuji, the type to call his sensei just to ask him what restaurant to plan a date at with you, since for some reason satoru always knew good places!

yuji, the type to read a book out loud, for you to hear what he was reading about, most of the time he would read little kid books just to see if you were even paying any attention to him, of course it was just a test.

yuji, the type to buy every single candy in the store for the movie night you always planned, (don’t worry, there’s popcorn to

yuji, the type to bring you up in any type of conversation, it could be about “fits” that would just mean he would bring up your outfit and how good you looked in it :)

yuji, the type to be all nerdy around you, but when it came to nobara, and megumi, he tried to act all chill, and nonchalant (he failed each time since you would show up
